There's a local childrens hospital I donate to. My 2 month old had to stay a few nights because of an odd ailment. They were professional and the in-crib toys helped give him and us comfort in a strange setting. They never asked for a donation (the bill is never fun though). We did some research and found they take donations like money/gift cards to help buy toys amongst other items that adds comfort for all the kids and parents that visit. In the flash that Pokemon Go was around, people were showing up and donating in game items so the kids can go around and hunt Pokemon. Their caring made us want to help continue in helping them.

I would not donate to my own hospital as I would have no confidence that it would be put to good use. But I have donated multiple times to the hospital where I trained and also have donated to the Veterans Home on our hospital grounds. They do excellent work and our veterans deserve our support.
