E LD's are fine for large companies. For companies that are Regional it's no good you won't be able to make any money because of the way companies open and close if you can drop 5 loads in a week in a 5-day work week you're not going to be able to do that with the ELD's You will lose 20% of your income. Not so much because of the ELD it's because of the hours of service rules that we have now and the way companies open and close their hours aren't suitable. For a cross-country ELD's are fine and for local drivers they're not even used. Change the HOS to what it used to be and Let It Go with no recap we can do 10 hours of driving take an 8 hour break and keep on going like that for as long as we want.

Well I'm glad you few are excited about elds. Funny thing is it's people like you that come into truck stops like it's a race track and chance hitting someone. Furthermore it's people like you who have got this in effect because you can't handle the fact that 90%of you can't do math and can't do a real log book sure there are a few who push it and screw up but out of the whole you new drivers are the ones having wrecks not regular log book users so tell me how elds is going to help it's the ones with the elds having the crashes explain that if u can

Elds are not the problem it’s the 14 hr rule that’s the problem !

I don't think believe the issue is so much about a logging device, but more so about how an outside party, who doesn't try to earn their lliving by driving a truck, dictates, and mandates, how we have to do our job. The people protesting this, would rather go back to the old HOS rules, where they could pick when they drive, take their breaks, etc. Under the current rules, as they're set up, it gives an unfair advantage to the big companies, that deprives the independents from earning a decent standard of living.
