If you are with TELUS, you can do it over chat with tech support as well. Not sure about other carriers. So no need to wait on the line.

I will unlock my phone in the coming months, once all the rush on the call lines is over (yeah, we can only unlock the phones by calling, not on the net). But as I will not change provider (my monthly rate is just too great), I will do this only so that I can use another card from another provider if I am out of Canada.
