Forced into traditional Christmas celebrations due to family, but as I age, and kids are grown, have begun to abhor it and all the empty gift giving trappings. Longing to embrace a solstice holiday. Dig Thanksgiving.

I've always celebrated "Christmas" with the rest of our nominal Christian family. As an atheist, the Winter Solstice always seems more my focus, but the lack of gift giving has always been a hindrance! Also not as many public Solstice celebrations.
