Cornell Beachem, Winton Woods – He was undefeated as of Jan. 8, winning three tournament titles and named most outstanding wrestler at the Bellefontaine tournament. He won a tough Fairfield Invitational by pinning his opponent in 37 seconds and earning the “Most Pins” award.
Antonio McCloud, Elder – The Elder senior pinned his opponent in the 220-pound weight class to help Elder defend its Catholic Invitational Tournament championship with a team score of 275.5. He joined four other first-place Panther champions and one runner-up in the tourney.
Carter Messerly, Ryle – He won 10-3 in the final match to give the Raiders the Boone County championship Jan. 11 over Conner, Cooper and Boone County.
Mike Whisner, Simon Kenton – He had the closest and most crucial win for Simon Kenton Jan. 11 with a win over his Scott opponent in the 132 weight class to help the Pioneers win the Kenton County championship.
Tommy Ross, Colerain – The senior went undefeated (5-0) and was crowned champion of the heavyweight class at the Middletown Varsity Wrestling Tournament Jan. 13.
Christopher Donathan, Mason – He was named the most outstanding wrestler at the Western Brown Hammer and Anvil Tournament after winning his 152-pound weight class with a pin.
