If things go as they might it will have taken Tom 16 years to accomplish what Jordan managed to do in 10 full seasons. Jordan is to sport what Ruth was, a benchmark of excellence that defies imitation even as it demands the attempt. Brady has more in common with Bill Russell than Jordan.

Brady should not have even played in the SB a couple years ago. instead it took 4ever to find him guilty of deflate gate and sat out 4 meaningless games. He should have sat out immediately that being the SB for those actions. If it happened as it should have this conversation would not be taking place.

Yeah Joe, you're right, I forgot about how many World Cups Tom Brady won for USA Football. Oh yeah, that doesn't exist. I guess the Super Bowl titles don't count until he wins that, according to your logic.
You're also right, Brady played against more difficult competition in the absolutely stacked AFC East throughout his career. It's amazing that Brady could even win that division, it's been so tough. Yeah, La Liga is a duopoly, but the AFC East is the equivalent. Only one team won the AFC East 15 out of the last 17 years, but you're right, so much parody.
I also love that you didn't comment at all about the Champions League wins. Champions League also has 32 teams, but the difference between that and the NFL? The Champions League doesn't have a bunch of dysfunctional teams with losing records throughout Messi's career in that tournament.

I feel the Olympics for Jordan doesn't mean much considering the Dream Team was stacked, but his NCAA and his earlier Olympic appearance would be calculated into this as well. The two both have always shown that competitiveness. Brady in a chugging beer competition and Jordan in golf. Very comparable

Not only did Jordan also win 2 Olympic gold medals and a NCAA championship, he helped defeat the Monstars. Never forget!

Jordan won gold medals & NCAA championship also.

Ronaldo has four Champions League titles as well, and I'd argue winning La Liga is nowhere near as difficult as the NFL because there is no parity in that league. It's Barca or one of the two Madrid teams every year.
One might also argue he has had better international success. It's obviously close but the recent Euro title (even though he was out) might push him over the top. Argentina often perform well under their talent level as of late.

Mark- Winning 8 La Liga titles is a joke. The NFL is a 32 team league where every team has the same amount of money to spend on salary. La Liga is a 20 team league where 1 of 2 teams wins the league every year b/c they have all the money. Please don't come back with any Atletico comments either. Tell Messi to win a World Cup, that is still the biggest prize to win or have you forgotten?

Michael never lost an NBA Championship game and was MVP of each championship he played in.
You could argue that at least 2 of the Patriot's wins were lucky, not as much what the Patriots did but more what their opponents did or didn't do (Seattle, Falcons)

I'm not even a Lionel Messi fan or a Tom Brady hater, but pretty shocked Messi was dismissed so quickly. He has won 8 La Liga titles and will win his 9th this year, which is the equivalent of winning the NFL since the NFL is only one league. La Liga seasons run twice as long as the NFL season and there are several tournaments throughout the year too.
More importantly, he has won 4 Champions League titles, which is a tournament of all of the best teams throughout the European leagues. The best teams from England, Germany, Italy and France, etc. (which mean they're some of the best teams ever assembled). These teams hardly ever lose and Messi still beats them. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is beating up on some terrible teams throughout the regular season and sometimes even in the play-offs.
Messi has an Olympic Gold Medal, countless cup titles and tournament wins, and numerous individual awards including being awarded the best player in the world several times.
Poor poll question. Sorry Paulie and McLovin.

If you consider some of the events in the Olympics as team sports, based off of winning, could you put Michael Phelps in contention? 23 Medals

You take MJ away from Bulls, they win zero titles. Patriots would have won a few without Brady.
