I agree we should reduce the use of plastic bags - but to ban them would be very foolish as we still need the big plastic garbage bags for disposal of household nonrecycleable materials. Of course, we could always buy more plastic bags to use in the kitchen -- that would make the manufacturers happy -- instead of recycling the bags from produce that we purchase.............
