We should stay on standard time all year.

Eliminate daylight saving time completely across the country. There's no advantage to it.

The world is a dangerous place................ it gets dark, it gets light, the young must learn to survive in each. When the kids pack up the day and go inside to bed at sun down then I will concern my self with them having to live life before the sun comes up in the morning.

Please don't make DST permanent who says the sun will shine everyday anyway

Just eliminate daylight saving time completely across the country. There's no advantage to it. It's just a complete pain in the a..

Some people are poor don't know thier circumstance or what they deal with on a daily basis. But can you close your eyes put your self in thier situation and send your child out in the dark to catch a school bus in New York, Chicago, ECT in some of the most dangerous states where homicides, murders, rapes, kidnappings, are constantly happening. I was not blessed never had children but if something ever happened to my nephews, nieces, or great nephews, and great nieces I would hold the state responsible .

No child should have to be put through that. There is greater danger in children walking to school in the dark.murdered rapped kidnapped.I am so against this although it's great for adults, bad Idea for children.

you’re all silly. we can’t just be in our own time zone. desrupts so much. it’s just a bit of ‘jet lag’ for a couple of days. it overall benefits the typical day. get over it.

Daylight Savings Time sucks! Sunrise isn't until 7:35 AM. I don't like waking up in the pitch dark, and when I was in high school, I didn't like waiting for the school bus in the pitch dark. Plus it's easier to fall asleep at night when the sun sets at a normal time. It's time our leaders do the right thing - get rid of Daylight Savings Time! I live in Florida, and I don't know anyone who likes Daylight Savings Time.

As I'm writing this,, I can barely keep my eyes open! All week I've been struggling due to having changed the time. I don't care which way we go, standard or daylight saving, just stick to one!!!! It'll be another month or two before I get used to the change, that has negative repercussions on my health as well as for others. Hopefully, a permanent change is coming!!!!!

If I could have any input, I would wish for standard time year round. I feel it would help children in the winter morning hours and also not overload all the a/c units late afternoons in the infernal hot summer days here in FL. But it needs to be one time set only.. either EST or DST.. Thank you.

No, daylight savings time is an abomination, get rid of it all together. Let people sleep a bit longer.

Leave it DS time and be done with it...I wouldn't have cared if it was dark in the morning on my way to school. I'm from the Pacific Northwest...it's dark 250 days of the year.

PS I hope no one hacks this poll, it's really important...

Let voters decide what is best and not politicians.

As my mom used to say "if uou have five pancakes and you put one on the bottom...You still have five pancakes. Let's stop moving the time around and save countless lives

    The longers woud be great.
The kids going to school is a big concern!
If longer days in the HOT summers, this means more AC time, higher electric bills!

  • L - 6 years ago

You let your kids walk to school alone in the morning? How irresponsible !!!

  • JAMES B BUTTS - 6 years ago

Bad idea! It will be 8:15 am in the morning before the sun rises during the winter. The school kids could get run over in the dark while they walk or bike to school or are waiting at the bus stop. Drivers can see the kids in the dark. Its better to be on standard time all year long.

    I prefer standard time.

  • J - 6 years ago

Move 1/2 and leave it alone

  • Tiny Smith - 6 years ago

Open schools an hour later and stay on one time

  • Roy Olsen - 6 years ago

We should stay on Eastern Standard time year round. Also DST would make it that much more dangerous for school kids during winter

    Big impact on school kids
