It extends far beyond American partisan politics. The fact of Russia's information warfare against us has been confirmed not only across political interests in the US, but by friendly foreign governments as well, some of which have also been attacked by Russia.

Trump is destroying our democracy. It is well known that most FBI agents are republicans including Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein, etc. etc. All the FISA judges that approved the probe are republicans nominated by Republican presidents. They are not Hillary supporters.
It is not just the US intelligence, all other western US-ally agencies have also found Russia interfering in 2016 US elections. If Trump has nothing to hide, he would not have been so desperate to obstruct at every turn and stop the investigation without looking at the evidence. Obviously, this FBI will not cook up evidence and get away with it. Indeed, if Mueller does not find Russian interference and Trump campaign's knowledge and coordination with Russia, his cheerleaders on Drudge and Breitbart can rejoice. Not until then.

The "smoking gun" comes in the form of myriad events and confirmed facts that one does not need to dig particularly deep to find. All of them point to Russia and literally none of them point anywhere else, including Iran and North Korea. I am flabbergasted to see people in my party who fail to recognize that Russia is an adversary, and that the Republican Party (not exclusively, but particularly) has historically been a great protector against Russian influence and underhanded, subversive tactics.
A Russian general--twelvish years ago or so--published a paper outlining the way that cyber tactics will become an indispensable means of waging war. Since that time, Russia has used these tactics against Ukraine, France, the UK, Germany, and the United States, just going from memory.
If you want the specifics, they're not hard to find, but to name a few things:
--the malware used to penetrate the DNC was the same as that used in attacks on other countries that were confirmed as emanating from Russia.
--the documents released by Guccifer 2.0, who claimed to be a Romanian, had metadata confirming that they had been edited in Russian-language software.
--the entire US intelligence community is firm in its determination that Russia interfered in our election.
--it has recently been confirmed that Russian actors have penetrated our electrical and nuclear infrastructure.
--the Dutch intelligence community penetrated the Russian cyber operation and WATCHED the Russians carry out their information warfare against us.
--social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and others have confirmed that Russian actors used fake accounts to spread false stories aimed at dividing our population and throwing our political discourse into chaos.
This is just the stuff I could think of without even looking. It is NOT okay. It is not a partisan political issue. It's an American issue. Russia attacked us. It continues to attack us. I am not okay with an ex-KGB agent rallying forces against us and hoodwinking people in my party into complicity.
The Republican Party and the country at large is better off letting this investigation take its course and making sure that ANYONE who took part in selling out our country--whether they have an R or a D next to their name--is brought to justice.

One. (Parkinson’s Law) the broad assertions and guidelines were ever expanding - meaning they would continue to use circumstantial evidence (at any capacity) to justify claims, in an ever expanding campaign.
Two. (Mueller’s refusal to recuse himself) with a questionable background which includes ties to the Clinton’s, was he really the best person to lead this “investigation”?

Clearly they haven't been here over the past two years when articles from the NY Times and WaPo are far more likely than anything conservative (to the point we've been complaining). I submit to any thinking or observant person that can recall events surrounding the last few months of the US presidential election that the singular item that gave rise to the whole ideal that a foreign power (ie - Russia) interfered with the US election was the acquisition and publication of the DNC and Podesta emails.
There was nothing else that anyone was pointing to as an indicator that Russia was playing a covert role in slanting the election towards one candidate or another, let alone "colluding" with one of the candidates.
Also note that even if Russia was involved in "hacking" the DNC and Podesta emails - they did not need nor did they have any reason to "collude" with the Trump campaign. No collusion was necessary - just the hand-off of the emails to wikileaks. To suggest that there was collusion with the Trump team requires an explanation as to what role the Trump team could have possibly played - given the idea that if Russia wanted Hillary to lose they did not need to collude with Trump in any way or need his approval to acquire and release the emails.

Mueller's investigation, at it's fundamental core, was supposed to answer the question: Who gave a copy of thousands of DNC and Podesta emails to Wikileaks. That is the 8000 lb elephant in the room that nobody in the MSM media or congress wants to look at or talk about. Julian Assange has offered many times to give bullet-proof testimony to congress as to who gave wikileaks the DNC/Podesta emails in exchange for dropping bogus US charges against him. Because the DNC has refused to allow the FBI access to their computers, there is no way to forensically determine who or how the emails were acquired. Why is congress and Mueller not seeking testimony and evidence from Assange when he's willing to give it? No other source comes close to being able to provide the most sought after and key evidence in the so-called "Russian collusion" case that Mueller has been tasked to investigate.

Given the amount of time Mr Mueller and his team have had to investigate and still not have evidence to bring an indictment, it would appear time to wind this down. Congress should set a drop-dead date certainly no more than, say, 4 months from now. I cannot think of an example where a prosecutor has come up with so little given the time and tax dollars spent.

Firing Mueller would be a terrible idea. He's already made a slew of indictments and his investigation isn't over. Moreover, people saying that he's overstepping his authority clearly haven't read the order authorizing his investigation.
When I was growing up under the Reagan presidency, Republicans were known for respecting the rule of law, upholding ideals of Western democracy, and being wary of underhanded and authoritarian influences as exemplified by the Soviet Union and its penchant for spreading disinformation. In some bizarre turn, we find ourselves today running interference for a man who in no way represents traditional Republican ideals, and who very well may be compromised by a hostile adversary led by a former agent of the KGB. What has become of us?
We should support the investigation and let the chips fall where they may. If you really love this country, then you should allow the people who are charged with protecting it do their jobs.

--the entire US intelligence community is firm in its determination that Russia interfered in our election.
--it has recently been confirmed that Russian actors have penetrated our electrical and nuclear infrastructure.
--the Dutch intelligence community penetrated the Russian cyber operation and WATCHED the Russians carry out their information warfare against us.
--social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and others have confirmed that Russian actors used fake accounts to spread false stories aimed at dividing our population and throwing our political discourse into chaos.
This is just the stuff I could think of without even looking. It is NOT okay. It is not a partisan political issue. It's an American issue. Russia attacked us. It continues to attack us. One. (Parkinson’s Law) the broad assertions and guidelines were ever expanding - meaning they would continue to use circumstantial evidence (at any capacity) to justify claims, in an ever expanding campaign.

I submit to any thinking or observant person that can recall events surrounding the last few months of the US presidential election that the singular item that gave rise to the whole ideal that a foreign power (ie - Russia) interfered with the US election was the acquisition and publication of the DNC and Podesta emails.
There was nothing else that anyone was pointing to as an indicator that Russia was playing a covert role in slanting the election towards one candidate or another, let alone "colluding" with one of the candidates.
Also note that even if Russia was involved in "hacking" the DNC and Podesta emails - they did not need nor did they have any reason to "collude" with the Trump campaign. No collusion was necessary - just the hand-off of the emails to wikileaks. To suggest that there was collusion with the Trump team requires an explanation as to what role the Trump team could have possibly played - given the idea that if Russia wanted Hillary to lose they did not need to collude with Trump in any way or need his approval to acquire and release the emails.
At this point, Muller is wasting taxpayer money. If the public only knew how much taxpayer money went into this "investigation." Aside from that, there was never any Russian meddling in our elections. That is a story the DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST HILLARY CLINTON cooked up. Given the amount of time Mr Mueller and his team have had to investigate and still not have evidence to bring an indictment, it would appear time to wind this down. Congress should set a drop-dead date certainly no more than, say, 4 months from now. I cannot think of an example where a prosecutor has come up with so little given the time and tax dollars spent.
Firing Mueller would be a terrible idea. He's already made a slew of indictments and his investigation isn't over. Moreover, people saying that he's overstepping his authority clearly haven't read the order authorizing his investigation.
When I was growing up under the Reagan presidency, Republicans were known for respecting the rule of law, upholding ideals of Western democracy, and being wary of underhanded and authoritarian influences as exemplified by the Soviet Union and its penchant for spreading disinformation.
