Yes. I don't care that it was in a pubilc record. Lawyers should keep quiet.

Yes, but the rule should be amended to include an exception for "public record."

No. Not protected speech, but not the type of disclosure the rule is intended to prohibit.

No. No matter how I feel about client confidences, the rule violates the 1st Amendment.

oops! Should be "if you practice in the former".

There are significant differences when the practice is in a rural area as opposed to an urban area. If you practice in the latter the information about your "public record" case is frequently on the street before you get back to your office.
