China wants to reduce its dependence on coal and needs other forms of energy. They know that and there are literature to prove the claim. How hypocritical are the environmentalists thinking that reducing the demand of oil will reduce climate changes in the rest of the world!!!

Horgan is your typical ignorant left wing looney tunes! How can anyone be surprised about this?? We are a province that’s is being governed by a party that won 3 seats, how ridiculous is that? Where is the outrage for that? Why are we not changing the rules so two parties cannot collude after election results to form government?? I hope you’ve woken up BC! Trudeau is another gutless liberal , all he needs to do is sending the national gaurd and get this done. Just like his dad did!!.... “just watch me” remember that Justin, you idiot!

Why do people immigrate to Canada? Because it is a land of opportunity. One of the places of choice is British Columbia. Beautiful place; pristine oceans, vast forests, crystal white mountain tops.

But is more than that. Many come to escape government control, to escape economic hardship, to escape the divisiveness of war. They come because they know Canada is none of these. A place they feel welcome.

My great grandfather came to BC to build the railroad and endured hardship and discrimination. His family came and my children are 5th generation Canadians. I was told of stories of discrimination and I endured them myself. Yet I am proud to be Canadian.

Just like my ancestors and my people before, we were nation builders. The BC NDP wants to break up the best country in the world. We can't let that happen. A fragmented county is not in my heart. Let's unite to prove to the world that we are tolerable. To the world that we tolerate helping the them make their world a better place. Let's stop this nonsense and agree on the pipeline. Let's prove to the world that we are not just a nation builder but a world builder.

Horgan is breaking the law. This is federal jurisdiction but he’s either too stupid or too stubborn to know what that means. It’s all politics with him & his buddy Dream Weaver. There’s more CO2 going out of Vancouver’s largest coal port in the world. Why no mention of that?? The rule of law must happen or anarchy will take over, take your pick. Trudeau won’t resolve this situation but Notley or Kenny won’t back down. Buckle up!

Maybe it’s time for BC to threaten separation like Alberta and Quebec have done to get their childish toys from the Feds! Bitumen oil stinks, it sinks , and let’s see the “ World Class Oil Cleanup Response “ demonstration.... they can’t because there isn’t one ! Typical Justin also, too gutless to invite indigenous leaders to his meeting on Sunday .

So...let’s get this straight. There was a federal agenda of pipeline expansions started by the Harper conservatives. At that time, there was no comprehensive plan for cleanup in case of a catastrophic spill. There has been no comprehensive study on Bitumen spills in particular...federally or provincially! Are we mad?!? These should’ve been studied and the results submitted BEFORE any approvals were givin! This is where the argument is currently at...federal approval based on a corporate agenda. To top it all off, we now have provincial in fighting due to federal incompetence. Trudeau, being his “himbo” self is a corporate puppet with little care for comprehensive studies using scientific facts instead of corporate opinion. As a proud BC’er I find it humerous that Trudeau has pushed this fossil fuel agenda, while preaching about carbon tax! What a hypocrite! It’s common knowledge that fossil fuel use leads to greenhouse gases which cause climate change....something most grade 4 students know. We should be studying alternative energies so we can stop our addiction to fossil fuels! Wake up people

It’s not about if or can it’s about the rule of law the compromise is needed. The majority of the pipeline goes through bc but Abi’s saying it all profits for them. The compromise is that there needs to be a contingency to help protect the coast as well as compensation for the land being used through B.C. once that’s done the tree hugging granola eaters can start complaining about the mass coal exports we send out of Vancouver ports (coal is even worse but funny how they can’t say anything about that!)

Either way Trudeau is doomed. He should step aside NOW and let someone with leadership skills govern.

In February of 2017, the CBC reported that China had little ability to refine the poor quality of crude that the Alberta tar sands are producing. However the report stated that the USA has an increasingly heavy demand and that they have retooled refineries to use the Canadian crude. Alberta can build the pipeline straight south into the U.S. where there is need for this crude and the ability to refine it.
(When south of the border turn right and head to Washington)

BC is wrong they should listen to the law and do the pipe line even if we don’t like it

  • Raymond - 6 years ago

Enforce the law as it stands now.
No need to keep threatening each other.

  • Kelly - 6 years ago

No they won't be able to as Trudeau is a weak leader that no one actually takes seriously. It will take courage by Ottawa to deal with Horgan and they just don't have it. Sadly it will only be resolved when BC is punished economically by Alberta which will negatively effect a previously good relationship.

Our feds have given away all the power to lead, along with weak leadership.

  • Mike - 6 years ago

Your question is flawed. Can they resolve this ? Absolutely! Will they resolve this ? With the parties involved , I seriously doubt it.

  • Sharon - 6 years ago

Use of mediator critical to keeping parties focused on what is best for Canada. Too hot for JT to manage on own, proud of him for trying.

Plz encourage use of mediator to ensure all parties get heard & all get on same page for sake of Canada ????????
