Pot will be legal in a few months. What is the point of having another 4 20 gathering? Should not be allowed to continue.

This was merely a pot party in the park. It should be treated like any other event such as the folk festival.
If liquor was being served, law enforcement would have arrested everybody. Why the double standard when two million dollars worth of pot was sold, especially since it is still illegal?

I’ve never understood cost allocations for public works. A cop, fireman, parks board person goes to work, their boss sends them out to patrol East Hastings, check fire extinguishers or pull weeds at Stanley Park. These workers get paid no matter what they do so attaching a cost that’s ment to outrage the public with inflated numbers serves no purpose but to divide us as humans. The 420 clean up costs saved money in other departments maybe that’s how it should be publicized.

As a regular smoker myself I gotta side with the park board. This no longer a protest. It's become a numbers game.

They made the mess and damaged property, they should be responsible and pay for cleanup and damages!
This event is not a protest, and no longer needed if it were a true protest!

Back in the day both the Canucks and the Lions called the PNE grounds their home. The city allowed both these teams to build new homes in the downtown core. Of course this move brought great traffic congestion but also greater business opportunities for the city core. So in the future of cannabis, will the downtown business owners welcome these stoned paying customers or will they end up at a place like the PNE grounds?

Agreed with Dave. If it was in fact a protest, which I think is debatable, then there should be no further need to protest. Frankly, I think it's an excuse to get high in a public place and poses more of a nuisance to others than a statement. If you're going to smoke do it in private and don't force others to have to partake.

Now that weed is legal there is no point in having this event anymore . I like my weed too but I smoke in the privacy of my home . Tobacco and liquor are banned from public places and parks . There is no reason marijuana should be exempt .
