Johnessah Barbiea, Dayton – The sophomore was named NKA Division III Female Athlete of the Year after scoring perfectly at the conference meet earning 4 gold medals. She won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, while also claiming gold in the long and triple Jumps. Johnessah went on the next week to earn 4 gold medals at the Harrison County Invitational. She is currently ranked first in the region in both jumping events.
Natalie Pope, St. Henry – She won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes to help the Crusaders to a team title at the Scott Classic. She also was part of the 4x400 meter relay, which placed fourth.
Adriana Muntaner, Highlands – The sophomore won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles at the May 1 Highlands Al Salvator Red Dog Memorial, helping the Bluebirds win a team title.
Sidney Reagor, Campbell County – She won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races at the May 3 Scott Classic. She also ran second in the winning 4x800 relay, to help Campbell County place second overall as a team.
Abby Jones, Newport Central Catholic – The freshman ran a 5:11.89 at the Kentucky Dream Mile, Friday, in Louisville. The Dream Mile is a race consisting of the top mile runners in the state. Jones was one of only two freshmen in the 16-person event. She was the top freshman finisher taking eighth.
