I don't always eat ice cream, but when I do, it's Nick Charlaps. We live in the Village of Hamburg, and that location is everything I recall about an "old fashioned" walk up ice cream stand. The product is great, their orange chocolate soft is outrageously good. The Boston location is great, so is the West Seneca location. Hands down my favorite.

Having tried all 4 places, Lake Effect is by far my Favorite! The unique flavors and sundaes always keep me coming back. (Geeen tea, Black sesame, London fog, butter beer...to name a few) They also offer house made ice cream cakes, ice cream bars/sandwiches, freeze pops, and even “pup cups”! These guys know what they’re doing and do it well! They have become a community staple for my family and I. Seriously worth the trip to the Lockport location as it’s right on the canal with lots to do and explore!
