The unread widget has been broken for months now. I know there is a "beta" available for download, but why is it not official in the market?

Any plans to have NewsRob support tags?

This great app needs a widget - and I'd love to have it ^^

I'd like to map volume up/down to page up/down in the article list.

I want to be able to switch back and forth between the feed- and the (simplified) web-version on the fly when reading an article without opening the external browser. Also, opening embedded videos in an external video player (or the youtube app if it's a youtube video) would be nice.

A 4x1or 4x2 widget with the titles of the newest articles would be nice! Thanks.

Be great to see the feeds favicon in the feed list.

great app but i would love if you added more features like a search and widgets and add more color to the app but overall is the best reader on the android market
Sorry for being so late in responding. I didn't see the new comments until now.
Hector, thanks.
Sahir, I am not aware of that. You want to share some details on the list? http://bit.ly/nr_list
Peem, sorry, that was a bug. Fixed meanwhile.
Wireball, point taken. I think subscribe to feeds is around the corner and should come before the end of the year.
Terryzx, sounds terrible. If you want, come to the list (see above) and share the details.
Duncan Blues, there should not be actual duplicates. However if an article is below more than one folder you would see it multiple times consequently. But marking it as read below one folder should also mark it as read below the others.
Does this help? Otherwise please come to the list.
On Google Reader you can mark all articles as read that are older than a week for example
I could also include that in NewsRob. If you think that's important, please submit it to newsrob.uservoice.com. Thanks.

I have a problem where my SD card keeps locking and becoming read only when I use this. I have plenty of SD room available but it won't allow me to do nearly anything until I restart and then it locks up shortly thereafter. When I try to copy my SD card for safety backup, I get a can't complete because NewsRob folder is corrupted. I uninstall and reinstall and it gets the same way again very soon. So for now I have to switch to gReader until I figure this out.
I recommend writing a brief note in the FAQ about "add feed".
Basically just your response on the help forum here:
http://groups.google.com/group/newsrob/browse_thread/thread/2de39decd7dac8e7/ca95e3fc3eaeced2?lnk=gst&q=add+feed#ca95e3fc3eaeced2
I guess what threw me for a loop was the dependence / need for a third-party non-System application to add feeds. Clarification right on the FAQ would be helpful.
Thanks for a handy app!

i really liked newsrob. believe me, first app i installed on my android phone.
but now it automatically starts at boot on android, and even if you root phone & remove newsrob autostart at boot and autoupdate and notifications, the next time you boot the phone, it will autostart anyways. i tried whatever i could, it always pops up at boot. no thanks. i need battery power.
second reason is synchro is really messy. it loads same feeds again & again, even if they are marked as read.
every single newsrob update seems to add one more problem for me.
the funny thing is i installed a rss reader that is actually not as good (newsrob has far better display options), but at least it doesnt autostart whatever i try. and it does the sync with google-reader very well, i dont have dupes & triples no more.
sorry Mr Kamp. maybe when you change these behaviours i will try your software again, i will use gReader now.

Hi Mariano, Nice app you have here. I
like the full screen mode-though it
becomes a bit difficult. Along with the
article title showing in the bubble, the feed name is also important. A few transparent buttons (star, mark unread) would be nice. Also, why is the internal browser so much slower to load & display than the regular browser?
I take the subway to work so offline storage is important to me. I would like to schedule the downloads and synchronized at specific times around my commute schedule. Once at 5am and once at 3pm. So adding greater flexibility to the synchronization piece would be great.
I am sure some others must have requested this as well...
Got tired of waiting for an widget with actual content. Guess it is time to switch to another reader. One with active development.

Great app. Would love a reader widget tho.
I'd like to see duplicates filtering and max article age for sync as Google Reader doesn't seem to have options for this.

the download performance is most affected by the connection than by application ... newsrob I like to be simple, stable ... and nearly complete! =)
You can do so with those apps that manage your phone and the situations it is in:
