Well, we have option for both - but arrows movement is done and mouse is being finished. Also - the restrictions is for directions, so moving from point a to b would require moving a bit to right then bit to left, if movement along straight line wouldn't have sprite for it. The worry here is that in some cases the animation might look like the character is sliding, facing slightly other direction (the difference in movement and animation can be max 22,5deg, because we have 8 directions spaced at 45deg from each other, making maximum divergence from actual movement to approximation maximum half of 45, so 22,5.)

I want no restriction, so the player can move about as he or she pleases without pause.
Also, to be honest, I would rather have a gamepad/keyboard movement scheme rather than a point-and-click one. Maybe have the option for both?
Also... would it be possible to have a party, rather than just the hero? >.>
I agree about more believable animation part, but movement itself again can be less believable, also - Fallouts used grids and movement was restricted to hexagonal grid, not necessary the directions only, so it's quite different design. Taking both into account, I still haven't decided which one I will pick, left my vote for later :)

I voted for restricting movement because the other games I've seen like this (like Fallout 1 & 2 I believe) do it, and I think it makes the character movement animation more believable.
