Will continue to watch regardless but prefer Ken Jennings.

  • Betty Carter - 3 years ago

Liked Mike better. So easy to listen to. No Couric, Cooper, Oz, or Guthrie for me. Don’t know how the other female would do. Can’t imagine she’d be a replacement for Alex. In my 80’s so I’ve been watching Jeopardy since the beginning. So far Mike gets my vote.

  • Kathy Houck - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings is flat and boring. His comments about women are disgusting . Send him packing please. I cannot watch or listen to his condescending attitude

  • Beth Hoffman - 3 years ago

Enjoyed Ken and Mike. I will not watch Couric,Cooper or Guthrie.

  • Robert. Borgman - 3 years ago

    Prefer Mike Richards

  • JANICE - 3 years ago

Quite a few of us watch and have watched the sbow for years. We find Rick eager and full of enthusiam, quite gregarious, genuinely puts the players at ease, truly seems interested in their stories, knows the board well and does not at all rehearsed at the podium. We watched in agony and waited for the next host. Rick was a breath of fresh air.

While Rick is all of the above, Ken appears truly uncomfortable, monotone and somewhat flat, as well as boring with his prepared remarks. Basically, Ken has none of the attributes necessary to host the show and keep the audience i,terested. Rick and Ken are 'like night and day." Ken was a great playerr, but does not have the presence to host the show. We love the show with Rick. While he has some of Alex's traits, he shows up with his own style. He's a delightful reprieve from Ken. Ken should hang up his hosting shoes and be a player of the gsme. Sorry, Ken' but you just don't have "it."

  • Helene Rabinowitch - 3 years ago

Mike Richards did a great job. Will stop watching when Katie Kouric comes on or Anderson Cooper. It will ruin show!!!

  • Lou - 3 years ago

I like them both. I will watch with either BUT I will not watch any of the other “guest hosts”. And PLEASE no LeVar Burton!

  • Richard Stokes - 3 years ago

I liked both ken and mike but agree with others mike seems to slick while ken still needs some refinement. Dont care to watch Couric, Anderson or Guthrie. You need to fine the person that loves learning their whole life.

  • E Johnson - 3 years ago

Mike Richards was by far the best and would be an excellent replacement. Ken is okay but doesn’t seem natural as a host. Some of his “jokes” come off as mean or condescending and I feel like he is a moment away from saying something he shouldn’t.

  • jim stearns - 3 years ago

I wanted to keep an open mind about Richards, as I enjoyed Jennings very much. Richards is OK, but his repetitive "what we're looking for" is trying my patience. On last night's episode he used that phrase five times when contestants did not respond or offered incorrect replies. Jennings has my vote so far.

  • Grace - 3 years ago

    Mike Richards!!

  • Sherry - 3 years ago

The 1st week I liked Mike's ability to move the game along. By week 2, I started to notice his voice seems forced and almost shouting even though he has a microphone. I am looking forward to Levar Burton.

  • Ginny - 3 years ago

I like Ken. He truly loves the game and knows the answers. Mike had a pleasing voice but had awkward pauses after answers were given and came across as critical when someone answered incorrectly.Mike also talked too much when interviewing contestants. Looking forward to other guest hosts but not Dr. Oz!

  • Lillian Rodriguez - 3 years ago

I enjoyed when Ken was on and always thought he would replace Alex. On first day I saw Richard & immediately could see him take the host position. He has so much charisma. I am enjoying and looking forward to the guest host coming next. I think the idea of a permanent host starting next season is great. I will watch now & next season no matter who is host. I watch for the game and it’s challenge to see what “I” know. Thanks for giving us time to mourn Alex.

  • Dale Holley - 3 years ago

The show will go on, with or without, both were good at what they do?
I think Mike is more personable, he has the mind of a producer but
the heart for Alex's passion!! But would like to see a person more so
and out of all the guest host listed none fit the bill for a permanent
host. There is one though that I think would Lavar Burton. He has a proven
Track record, and a excellent host, his past work with PBS and the
Motion picture industry has been outstanding. Of course there are those
Who disagree but their welcome to their opinion as I am.

  • Kelsey L Paulus-Shufflebarger - 3 years ago

I like Mike's voice. It is crystal clear.

  • Nancy Passehl - 3 years ago

I will watch the show regardless of who is chosen. I enjoy the sharing of knowledge and am happy if I can get a couple of the questions right. Ken would be my preference as I believe his knowledge is incredible. Mike is a very good and sincere host.

  • Cary Schoep - 3 years ago

Will quit watching if Couric. Or Guthrie host show

  • Karen - 3 years ago

In my opinion, Ken Jennings has the right combination of charm and intellect for the job. Mike Richards is good, but almost too smooth. I like watching Jeopardy because it doesn’t seem like a game show. It’s a test of knowledge that I participate in while watching. If you pick a host that’s too smooth and polished, it will feel like I’m watching Let’s Make a Deal or Price is Right.

  • Rick Westmire - 3 years ago

    Prefer Ken
    Then Mike

There were many negative comments about Ken, but I honestly feel he will improve with time. He has a love and passion for the show

Not interested in any of the others, especially those out of media.

  • Joe Carr - 3 years ago

Absolutely Jennings. Richards is a stiff and a phony. Sounds like a politician. Will watch Aaron Rodgers, pass on Couric.

  • Bebe - 3 years ago

For 'oh so many' reasons give us the 'smart' guy, not the 'showoff',
which means Ken should be chosen as the permanent host of Jeopardy!

  • Jon - 3 years ago

I think anyone who says they will not watch if one or the other is picked is being ridiculous--we watch for the game, not the host. But of the two, while Mike Richards was smoother, what I liked about Ken is that he actually knew the answers and wasn't hesitating to hear the voice in his ear telling him right or wrong. By the end of Mike Richard's time, it was getting annoying with the hesitation after every answer. This may just be a preparation issue---Alex always said he didn't know all the answers in advance but studied the questions hard and knew them by the time of broadcast. I think Ken just knows the answers. Anyway, I don't think Ken will take the job if he has other offers that are much easier like The Chase. So I think it will be someone else.

  • Rick Westmire - 3 years ago

    Prefer Ken
    Then Mike

Not interested in any of the others, especially those out of media.

  • Emily C Lloyd - 3 years ago

I prefer Ken. He appears as a genuinely humble host. Mike seems a bit hyper.

  • Emily C Lloyd - 3 years ago

I prefer Ken. He appears as a genuinely humble host. Mike seems a bit hyper.

  • Jenna - 3 years ago

Stopped watching when Ken was done. Sorry, Mike has ZERO personality.

  • Cathie - 3 years ago

I liked Ken and truly like Mike. Either one would be a fantastic permanent host but in my mind Mike pulled ahead just slightly. I will not, however, be watching while Katie Couric is on.

  • Lynn - 3 years ago

Mike is very smooth, but Ken is more laid back and seems more genuine. Mike should be busy enough producing Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy without having to be a host too!

  • Beverly H Abbott - 3 years ago

When taking this poll remember there are tons of elderly people at home wanting to pick Ken Jennings and do not have access or knowledge to vote on a computer.

  • Steven - 3 years ago

Please, please don’t make Ken the host. It would be a stain on the beautiful legacy that Alex created. Mike is a sweet man and seems to really care for the show, what it meant to Alex, and what it means to viewers. I think Ken was a great contestant but a truly awful host. As a life long viewer, I will not continue if Ken is picked.

  • Frank Gallo - 3 years ago

When Ken stopped hosting we stopped watching.

  • Peter Linehan - 3 years ago

Neither one seems to be the right person, and I can't see how Dr Oz works either. Keeping my pick until after a few more hosts have had a chance to show us how they can do.

  • Joann - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings has more personality than Mike Richards. Tired of Mike saying the “kinder & gentler” line. He doesn’t have to say that every day. There’s no need to have all those “guest hosts”- especially Anderson Cooper & Savannah Guthrie! Y’all just pick one already!

  • Karen Taylor - 3 years ago

I love Mike as the host and so enjoyed watching the show again after Ken was gone. Mike was so relaxed and seemed to be having some fun. Ken was stiff and only trying to be Alex, which he will never be. I feel no other temporary hosts need to come on. Mike is number one in my book!!

  • Bernie B - 3 years ago

I just find it sad and probably something Alex would not approve of that this whole guest host thing is a poorly thought out circus. Has been news anchors, over the hill sports figures, names that generate a “who?” Sad......

  • Diane - 3 years ago

I like both Ken and Mike. Mike kinda reminds me of Alex. But think Alex would want Ken. Maybe they can share it. Don’t care watch Katie

  • Jill Rourke - 3 years ago

I spent some time this week watching way-back Jeapardy episodes on You-tube just to get a feel for Alex Trebec in his early days (I'm a librarian, research is our thing). While he was personable, it is easy to see how much he grew over time in his host role. What Trebec ALWAYS had was a "voice".
Keeping that in mind, I have to vote for Mike Richards. Ken Jennings was a phenomenal contestant but that doesn't translate into a good host. This gig is all about the voice: the host needs to have a smooth, articulate cadence with excellent enunciation. If Mike Richards is not selected, I would hope the show would look at a relative unknown (as Trebec was) before handing this job to Jennings. He is stiff in his delivery, less than exact in his pronunciation, and often comes off as smug.
I am looking forward to watching all the guest hosts because they are all doing this for charity. That is a great tribute to Alex Trebec and his own philanthropic legacy.

  • Charlotte Koerner - 3 years ago

    I loved nk Ken
Will not watch Katie mlm Couric or Anderson Cooper

  • Eileen Penkalski - 3 years ago

Mike is a natural, Ken looks awkward and trying too hard!

  • Wayne Zacharias - 3 years ago

Ken was great, your search is over!

  • Kim Turner - 3 years ago

First I must say Alex is irreplaceable.
My Vote is for Ken , Definitely Ken

  • Michael Larsen - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings is trying to imitate Alex. Mike is doing it his way. I like Mike!!

  • trudy - 3 years ago

    Ken Jennings

  • Nancy - 3 years ago

Mike Richards has my vote hands down. I enjoyed watching Jeopardy with Mike as the host because the show just flows. Ken is a nice guy, but he makes me uncomfortable. I am afraid his sarcasm makes contestants feel inferior.

  • Ray Preston - 3 years ago

Jeopardy was unwatchable with Ken Jennings as guest host. Mike Richards has been tremendous!

  • Billie Nichols - 3 years ago

Mike is so comfortable and does a great job. The show would be in great hands. I love him and would enjoy him as the permanent host.

  • Howard Loveland - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings was far and away the best. It will be a big mistake if you don’t go with him. I also will not watch Anderson or Couric. Do not understand why they were given time. Apparently they were political choices.

  • Madelyn Gearheart - 3 years ago

I like Ken better. He is not as wooden in his overall delivery. Mike almost shouts when he reads the clues—there is no inflection in his voice. Ken is more spontaneously funny. When he had that response to the H&R Block answer, it was hilarious!
When Mike quotes Alex at the end of the show, it just seems disingenuous.

  • Billie Nichols - 3 years ago

Mike is so comfortable and does a great job. The show would be in great hands. I love him and would enjoy him as the permanent host.

  • rose - 3 years ago

I liked both Ken and Mike, but I think Mike was a tiny bit better. I'm interested in seeing how the remaining guest hosts do. I'd love to see some other former champions like Jeopardy James or Buzzy take a turn at the lectern.

  • Sandy - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings for sure! We can tell he spent a good amount of time with Alex and that’s fantastic. Ken has the professionalism, charm and confidence along with the sense of humor and knowledge that Alex had. Please hire Ken full time, he’s got this! Now, Couric I’m not interested in and Cooper we can understand he wants more time with baby Wyatt. But a game show host..not sure about the Coops but will watch. Just my opinion Jeopardy folks....

  • Jeapordy fan - 3 years ago

Both were great. Will not watch Couric or Cooper

  • Lauren - 3 years ago

Although Jennings did a fantastic job, I really liked Mike Richards. What a natural! He's got charm, good looks, intelligence and is relatable to the contestants. Please choose either Mike or Ken. My husband and I will NOT be watching the weeks Couric and Guthrie are on that stage.

  • Mary Wittmann - 3 years ago

I liked Mike Richards. But no one will be Alex or even close. ❤️

  • Sharon C - 3 years ago

I am a fan of Ken Jennings, but feel like Mike outshone him in every way. A winner does not a moderator make. Mike is relaxed, charming, smart.... just a natural.

  • Patricia - 3 years ago

Mike Richards! Never been a big fan of Ken..he seems awkward and a bit cocky.

  • CK Ellis - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings would be my choice. Mike has done a fine job, but Ken's passion for the game shines through. I find him much more charming and less slick.

  • Emerson Beaverhi - 3 years ago

I will not watch jeopardy during the weeks Couric and Anderson host. I'm surprised they were even considered.

  • Lalu Belle - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings for sure. Mike is a bit condescending especially when a contestant gives a wrong answer and Mike snips No!!

  • Marisa - 3 years ago

As a life-!time viewer, l am happy to vote for Ken Jennings...seems like the perfect host to continue Alex's legacy.
Sadly, like many others, l will not be watching when radicals such as Katic Couric and Anderson Cooper guest host.
Hope you get the job Ken..!!

  • John Charles - 3 years ago

My vote is for Ken Jennings ,Mike reminds me of a cheep used car salesman , he should be on a lot selling used cars !

  • Mary Kay Kotzman - 3 years ago

I watched all the shows ... Ken did a great job considering entertainment is not his first calling. Mike was ok - he was just too slick for me. Very intelligent but a bit off-putting. I doubt I could be interested in the show if Mike is the host. I have watched Jeopardy for most of it's run with Alex. As far as the other hosts to try out, I doubt they would be as warm and believable as Ken Jennings. My vote is to hire Ken for a year and if he does not work out - move on with someone else. And Ken loves the show as much as Alex did.

  • Christine Duggan - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings did a fantastic job! He’s humble, sincere & has a real love & connection to the game. Mike Richards was a little too glib & dapper for me.

  • Abel Zamora - 3 years ago

The two of them are imitating Alex.

  • Doris Denvit - 3 years ago

Mike Richards was a much better host. I’ve never been fond of Ken Jennings. Some of the guest hosts will not fit, such as Katie Couric, Dr. Oz, Savannah Guthrie to name a few. The show will never be the same without Alex, no matter who’s chosen. At 76 I’ll continue watching to keep my mind active.

  • Linda H - 3 years ago

I prefer Ken Jennings to be the permanent host. He has a real connection to Alex Trebek and enjoys the game. And I like his sincere sign off. I am not looking forward to any of the ridiculous upcoming hosts - Katie Couric, Mayim Bialik, some sports guy, etc - please spare me. They sound awful as hosts. The host should be Ken Jennings!!

  • Sherry - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings was fantastic. He was nervous because he loves the show so much. He would definitely feel more comfortable over time, same as he did when being a contestant. If you watch his earlier wins, he was eager and nervous, but once he became comfortable, he was more relaxed. We will not watch shows with Katie Couric or Anderson Cooper. They are too political and Jeopardy should not "jeopardized" in that way.

  • Judy Blanchette - 3 years ago

If Ken Jennings is picked fo. permanent host I will never watch Jeopardy again. Since Alex trebek is irreplaceable maybe you should consider ending the show.

  • evelyn - 3 years ago

Love Ken Jennings, Mike has done a great job also, that being said i will not watch Jeopardy if Katy Couric or
Anderson Cooper get the job. that will be the end .

  • Julie - 3 years ago

Both are great and either would make a suitable replacement. Not going to watch any shows with Katie Couric. She is publicly offensive and not representative of the show.

  • Anita Garmon- Hensley - 3 years ago

Both my husband and myself vote for Ken Jennings. The very first show that Ken did was as if he’d been doing it for years, Relaxed and easy just like Alex!

  • dottie spencer - 3 years ago

I'm hopeful that Ken will be the choice that is chosen for jeopardy. mr.richards already has a job ,but I would bet that particular job he has will give Richard's an advantage. Ken is humble, and greatful. he seems to make the guest at ease and makes the show about the guest and audience , not himself. well job he did to fill big shoes and he hasn't let the viewers forget Alex. good luck Ken, you deserve this host jod on jeopardy. thank you for doing what Alex has done

  • Ashley Oliver - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings belongs on Jeopardy, great comfortable, brilliant host who explains things due to his KNOWLEDGE. He thanks Alex rather than doing some snowflake bit about a kinder and gentler world. The producer knows his way around (he should) but is a charmless "suit". Ken engenders empathy about the difficulty of being up there, he's warm.
I will miss seeing the show either live or on tape for the first time since it began when the unamerican Couric hosts. I will NOT watch her.
Ken Jennings should be named permanent host. He's a natural.

  • Claudet Robertson - 3 years ago

Both gentlemen did as good a job as they were capable of. Its not an easy show to do especially trying to follow the greatest host of all time. My vote will be for Ken Jennings, as I believe he is best suited for the job. He is a very brilliant young man who did the show as close to the way Alex did as possible. He had that soft relatable touch with the contestants like Alex had. Thank you.

  • Judy - 3 years ago

Have enjoyed watching Mike host the show. He has a good voice and like his warmth. Ken's voice is irritatingly high pitched. Will not be watching in the following weeks. Since, some unpleasant people will be hosting.

  • Judz - 3 years ago

Mike Richards gets my vote. Not eager for some of the other guest hosts who are slated. Will lijely skip their stints.

  • Frances - 3 years ago

I like Ken Jennings, but Mike is more photogenic. He needs to relax and dial it back a bit. I remember Alex was like that when he started and then you could see him relax and it seemed easier. All in all Mike is doing just fine. It will be interesting to see what the upcoming hosts have to offer.lo+

  • Cate - 3 years ago

Mike Richards is so phony! He comes across like a used car salesman or a carnival caller. It's almost as bad as the time Pat Sajek filled in. Ken did a great job!

  • Beverly Landrey - 3 years ago

Richards is a fresh and interesting new face with a fine honest smile.

  • Gail - 3 years ago

I prefer Ken over Mike. IMO Ken displays proper mannerism as Alex. He knows the game better than anyone. Mike is too comical and way too animated - need to tie his hands behind his back. His arms and hands are flailing all over the place as he speaks. He really doesn't enunciate nor pronunciate words like they should be as did Alex Trebek. Heaven forbid, if you have any of those other people sportscasters, newscasters, doctors being host, I won't even watch the show; it's becoming ridiculous.

  • Harry - 3 years ago

Ken is very good but, he seemed a little mechanical to me, perhaps a little unsure of his next step to keep the the program running smoothly. He seemed to be a little nervous on stage. Richard, on the other hand, appeared more relaxed and natural in his demeanor. He seemed to be more at home and in his environment. I was just more comfortable watching Richard than watching Ken.

  • Paul G - 3 years ago

Mike Richards hands down. Very pleasant and knows his stuff. A natural fit

  • Michael A Parks - 3 years ago

More people picking Ken Jennings in the comments than Mike Richards.

  • Mike - 3 years ago

I like Ken. I hope it's Ken. But....I could see Mike Richards saying "As producer of Jeopardy, I pick.....ME!"

  • David Lopez - 3 years ago

I wish Dave Chappelle would have been invited to host.

  • Carol La Master - 3 years ago

No one can ever really replace Alex, BUT Mike Richards is a very comfortable fit. He just feels so natural, as if he had been doing it a long time. Hope he is kept on permanently. I am 83 years old and have been watching Jeopardy FOREVER, it seems!

  • Lore - 3 years ago

I never cared for Ken Jennings as a contestant and even less so as a host. He seems very condescending and smarmy. Mike Richards is far more charismatic, yet much warmer, especially in his second week.

  • Diana Cooper - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings,duh..The executive producer already has his own job to do!

  • Deb Suttle - 3 years ago

Las word is voice not vice!

  • LaustCawz - 3 years ago

Ken seemed to naturally make a perfect transition from player to host. He's enjoyable & personable as a host.
Mike seems very stiff & kind of phony. There's just something "off' about him as a host. I also prefer Ken's
"Thank you, Alex." I am interested in seeing Mayim Bialik as host. That should prove intriguing. Ultimately, I think we have to go back with Ken, though.

  • Deb Suttle - 3 years ago

Mr Richards is almost as good as Alex. Mr. Jennings needs a lower pitched voice and be more at ease in front of the camera. Mr, Richards is at ease, pronounces word well understood and has a great vice.

  • Diane and Calvin Whitt - 3 years ago

We both think Mike has done a nice job but Ken Jennings is much better suited to host Jeopardy. He relates to the contestants much better and he isn't as clipped with the contestants. Ken actually enjoys the game. Please make Ken the permanent host of Jeopardy!!

  • Frances VanDeusen - 3 years ago

Jen Jennings ???? percent...Mike Richards so very boring, monotone..seems like a cardboard cutout that talks...now I turn channel if he's in on it...

  • Elizabeth - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings NEEDS to be the permanent host!!

  • Gp - 3 years ago

Ken Jennings just doesn't cut it. Voice quality and stage presence just aren't there. Brad Rutter would be a much better choice. Mike did well!

  • Margaret - 3 years ago

Ken just enjoys the show and doesn't have to show off--leave that to the contestants. Plus, he's so brilliant, he wouldn't need to do all the prep work that would be required for the other guest hosts. Alex would want him to be permanent host.

  • Pj - 3 years ago

I like Ken but would like to see John michael higgins do a guest host shot.(America says)

  • Raini Roberts - 3 years ago

I like Mike Richards . I’ve watched Jeopardy for over 50 plus years even befor Mr. Alex Trebek days on there. We’d rock our brothers to sleep to the theme show music. AnywY, I’m a fan of Mike Tuchards. I like his voice and demeanor Perfect fit.
