Neither TVD or Criminal Minds is popular where I live. However I am devoted to watching Criminal Minds and I still have not said that PW cannot act, I simply do not know him enough to judge.
However I have heard of him.

Alright, I've sat here and read comment after stupid comment about something being fixed, do you guys not understand basic math??? Here let me do a condescending lesson for you, in case you forgot. 1/4 = 25% ..... are you still with me... alright... now lets change it to 3/15 = 20%. WE are ALL voting A LOT, so there for the denominator of that fraction, the total, is increasing exponentially fast. Faster than the individual votes there for the drastic shift in the number of total votes creates a drastic change in the individual persons %. Seriously, no one has the time to fix an online poll. I love Thomas Gibson, he's a really friendly guy who has played many things over the years. i have never heard of Paul Wesley, lets call this a difference in age and just move on with life.... it's an online poll ladies.

Considering i am unaware who Thomas Gibson is as i dont live in the united states (Criminal Minds is not that popular were i live unlike TVD) and i am not a "Fangirl" for TVD i happin to believe that it is full of gripping story lines extremly talanted actors and the wonderful, kind, very Talanted and ABSolut babe like PAUL WESLEY who BTW could act the shit out of any scene he is given.

People are funny. Random-dude-who's-name-I-already-forgot does this, he does that. Um, did no one watch episode 100 of Criminal Minds? TG went from pissed, to HEARTBROKEN (hello, his ex-wife was murdered and nearly lost his son), to angry, to fatherly...in a 45:13 time span. Add that on top of all the other episodes, plus EVERYTHING TG has done before this and you can see the real winner...
Also, learn something called math. When more people vote, percentages fluctuate. When one thing goes up, the other thing goes down. Now you can stop posting stupid comments about how the percentages are moving.
And this is why Thomas Gibson is underappreciated:
The man has been ace in just about every role he has done, yet do you see him getting Emmy's ? (everyone agreed he was snubbed last year after '100'). He has done drama, comedy, period acting, and it all works for him. Yet nobody knows who he is. Criminal Minds constantly owns the ratings, yet they receive zero support from even their own network, no instead their budget is cut and they lose actors.
Difference is that he's not on the covers of magazines all the time with stupid shit he has done, no, the guy has a wife and children and he spends time with them. So he's ignored, because that's not interesting to the teens who are obviously in huge attendance here.
No idea about how Paul Wesley acts, I've never seen TVD, but I know who he is because the actor obviously gets attention, albeit not for his excellent acting. Gibson deserves recognition after the career he has acted together, yet he's constantly overlooked. Plus he's awesome to his fans!

How can anyone claim that someone who has only been on the scene a few years is more under-rated than an actor who has been around for decades and is still under-rated? How can anyone say that Criminal Minds is not one of (if not THE) most under-rated shows on TV.
Nothing against TVD but I'm guessing y'all are a pretty young audience, most Vampire stuff brings in young audiences (and I've got nothing against Vampires, hell I backed the VMob) but please stop saying "so and so sucks because ... is better" Not seen one Gibson fan say anything like that yet, and we have all mostly admitted to having no idea who the other guy is. Trying to write this and not laugh at the comment by Lisa "Thomas Gibson has no range" lol, "I stopped watching Criminal Minds because of Thomas Gibson" lol lol, see this particular comment always makes me laugh because if people actually followed the programme they would realise how wrong they are. This is the character, the character has been through poo, the character is not supposed to be bubbly wubbly, the character does show emotion and because he the actor is so friggin good at the stoic element, when this stoicism breaks the actor portrays this with such powerful subtley..acting is not all about big dramatic in yer face over the top gestures, this character is real, fragile brittle, human .ok I am a fan, but I also recognise understated talent and just because TG is not in all the books or celeb hangouts or turning up to the opening of every envelope he and indeed the entire CM fraternity do not get anything like the recognition they deserve. And as for TG's range, he is a comic genius and a diamond to his fans with a wicked sense of humour, which is another reason why we love him so much, he is not up his own behind. I dont know anything about the other young fella so none of this is against him. VOTE TG

@Angela I've watched criminal minds 5x09...Thomas is a very very good actor, I agree...still I prefer Paul though...I think he's more talented for being even younger...you should watch tvd 2x06 ending scene, but trust me it's not the only scene in which Paul did an amazing job...what about 2x02 (helping Caroline)? what about 2x04 in which he acts as the young himself (in 1864) with a total different voice and facial expressions? I mean...and we're just talking about season2!...in season1 he was a blast too! anyway it's just my opinion, I respect yours.
Seriously... A teeny bopper on a 5th network vs. the most underrated actor of his generation on the #1 network. Give me a break. Thomas Gibson went to Julliard. He graduated HS a year early. He's been on three extremely popular TV shows, done tons of theatre, movies, won his round of Celebrity Jeopardy AND subbed for Regis Philbin. The man is extremely talented ( and not to mention gorgeous). I can name at least 30 different Criminal Minds moments where he's knocked it out of the park as Hotch in the past year. I've never heard of Paul Wesley so I have no idea what kind of actor he is, but I've seen just about everything Thomas Gibson has done and he's a wonderful actor who doesn't get the appreciation he deserves so I voted for him. He so versatile and when you watch Criminal Minds you can't wrap your brain around the fact that it is the same actor who used to play goofy Greg on Dharma & Greg. You only have to watch the episode of Criminal Minds titled "100" to fully appreciate what a talented actor Thomas is.

I agree with Candig. I am on Team Stefan but I still voted like hell for Ian when he was in the Sexiest Beast poll. I used to be purely Team Stefan but now I'm more on Team Badass. We have to support all the actors on this show and we can't let Paul lose this when he deserves it so much just because we prefer one over the other. We should want all the actors to be appreciated greatly for the amazing work they have done in the last two seasons. We have to stick together to win this!

I love Paul. He is such an amazing actor. I watch Criminal Minds, but the acting that they have to do in that show is not really a wide range of emotion. I can't say I have seen every eppy, but for the most part it is the same episode over and over with a little bit of personal drama. Paul has a way more difficult job and age should not have anything to do with it. It proves more when someone younger can perform at the same caliber if not better then someone that has been acting longer.

Paul should win - no contest. Honestly I stopped watching Criminal Minds because of Thomas Gibson. He is as dry as burnt toast. No range whatsoever. Paul, however, is fantastic but is truly overlooked. Why? because he acts along side Ian, who has casts an impenetrable forcefield of charisma.

@Ann. The percentages will change whenever someone votes. If right now more GibsonGirls are voting his percentage will continually go up. I'm sure that once a large number of the GibsonGirls go to bed tonight the percentage will go the other way.

That is the nature of the poll, as someone said 100% will never move so each actors figures will continually change. I was voting alot for TG yesterday and his figure was fluctuating so really dont assume fix. TG has a very vocal and determined group of fans

In the last poll Thomas Gibson was beating John Noble 62% to 38% and in the final hours his lead dropped by 12% and he just barely beat him. There weren't any TG fans crying foul and demanding the polls be checked. These things fluctuate. The vampire dude will probably be leading again at some point. Relax.

I chose Thomas Gibson to win this poll. Paul is in no way under-appreciated when you see who he is against in this round. Thomas has been around awhile and has had many excellent rolls. His character on Criminal Minds is played wonderfully and yes the show has been on awhile but he does not receive the exposure like Paul does. TVD is a popular show for now and folks know of the characters. Paul is getting his time in the lime light which is nice for him. As he gets older we will have to wait and see how his career turns out. As I said earlier Thomas should win this he deserves the recognition for the wonderful portrayl he does on Criminal Minds.

I LOVE Thomas Gibson and Criminal Minds. Nobody can play Hotch like he can. He deserves to win this. I also agree he should have at least been nominated for an Emmy for the job he did in '100'. The range of emotion he had to portray in that episode was unbelievable and so is he. Go TG!

Seriously, whenever we were down (and we have been a lot over this competition) we didn't immediately cry foul. We just got all our other fans voting and so far we've been "losing" at one point in every round, and won them.

Noticed that adding both their percentage sums up to 100%. So this could mean that the votes for each guy was divided from the total number of votes thus far. So a vote for one would really affect the other since adding their percentages will never go over 100%.

It's not because our favorite is losing, it's because technically speaking, the Poll is not behaving as it ought to. Take a genuine look at it for a moment. Check the total, refresh and check again. Each time you do, it will have dropped/risen. It's impossible for votes to be moving as they are. There's no way the Poll could be reading them that fast.

I just figured out that I had to click 'next' a few times to get to the post you were talking about. I don't know where that was supposedly posted, if it was on the CW boards I didn't see it, and nobody told me not to vote for Paul. If they had, I'm sure I'm not the only person who would have said that wasn't cool.
I know you didn't say all of the fans, I was typing for a while without refreshing the page. I didn't read your last post before I posted.
I honestly don't think the majority of Delena fans even know about this poll. When there is a poll about Ian I get like 2500 tweets about it. I'm going to send out a few tweets and post in the DE thread. We get a lot of traffic, and most people actually like Stefan, they just ship him with someone else.
I don't think we should point the finger of blame at every last Delena shipper. It's very probable that it's only a select few involved, if they really are at all. I'm also not ruling out other factors for the rapid swing in % as mentioned above, but let's keep our heads and do what we have been which is support our chosen actor to the last. :)

I'd really like to see your proof that Delena fan's have ruined this poll. I don't follow that many people on twitter but I know that I have been voting for Paul ever since the first round when Ian tweeted the poll was up.
Obviously this is the third round of voting and this other guy probably has a lot of fans that are voting. So, unless you actually have proof Delena fans are behind Paul's loss I'm going to choose to be offended by your accusation. I don't even want to help anymore.
