Genesis actually makes sense as this is the beginning of all - the first phone that comes out of Microsoft and Nokia partnership.
Other names that come to my mind that can rally the troops are-
Nokia Neo Series : Neo as in Matrix Neo. For some reason, I am hoping that this phone is a game changer with super hero kind of attributes.
Nokia Hanuman: As in the Indian god who is all powerful and knowledgeable. So Nokia Hanuman 100, or Nokia Hanuman EX,DX, etc.
Nokia Tidal Series is another name that comes to my mind. Tidal is special because of two reasons. Bill Gates released an internet memo called Tidal Wave which is very similar in situation with the memo released by Stephen Elop when he decided to go with Windows phone 7. So Nokia Tidal 100 or Nokia Tide 100 etc can also be a good name.
Nokia can also think of rebooting their 1987 cityman series and call this Nokia CityMan.
Nokia Cosmos and Nokia Horizon are not bad names considering Samsung picked Galaxy.

I like "Elite". Reminds me of Xbox 360 Elite. "Challenger" reminds me of the NASA Space Shuttle Challenger disaster of 1986.
Nokia Genesis because they are starting a new generation of phones.

.. Socialite Series

* The name has to encapsulate the social aspects of windows phone and the human aspects of Nokia design.
* Think 'designed with only one thing in mind ... the customer' as well as ... 'designed for the social butterfly'.
I was looking for translations or variants on social ... but came up short ...
Nokia has a chance to reintroduce themselves to the U.S market ... and they have a lot to brag about ... maps, camera, experience etc. Nokia is an easy company to market ... hopefully the team does it justice.
Apple really lags in integration between apps, social networks etc. WP7 shines in this area
On another note ... if Apple doesn't do this first ... Nokia should heavily advertise NFC functionality so that people think that they invented it .. Apple will likely do this on their new iphone ... and everyone will think NFC is apple technology.

Nokia Flop
That would perfectly capture what this whole WP7 stupidity will become and whose responsible for it. FLOP as in Stephen eFlop.

Voted Phoenix. Rising from the ashes is great symbolism. Gotta do the color scheme, though. Purple/red/orange/yellow :D
