Kalamazoo... It's known for beer. When meeting new people and I tell them I'm from Kalamazoo, they immediately ask about Bell's.

  • Julie Barrasso - 11 years ago

    Hello! OBERON.......'nuff said.....

  • Tetonka Brewing - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo hands down. Ann Arbor is silly instead of Grand Rapids. Bells is probably why I haven't left Kalamazoo since Oberon was called Solsun.

  • Melissa Dillon - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo!!!!

  • Tom - 11 years ago

I see UofM started rigging the votes... Kalamazoo all the way.

  • Tom - 11 years ago

    Hop-heads unite! Go Kalamazoo!

  • KALAMAZ00 RULZ - 11 years ago

CHARLIE PAPAZIAN U DONT NO NUTHIN ABOUT THE BEER. CLEARLY KALAMAZOO SHOULD BE CROWNED BEER CITY RIGHT NOW. EVERYWHERE ELSE SUXXX. WE HAVE A BREWERY.

  • Mel V - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo for shizzle!!

  • Joe Bones - 11 years ago

Jacksonville Florida RAWKS for beer! Get it on the ballot or THIS WEDDING'S HORSESHIT!

  • Yup - 11 years ago

Ann Arbor? Who are they kidding? Kalamazoo is far superior in every way...including BEER.

  • Carl - 11 years ago

    Dear. Beerpoller,

I am concerned about the accuracy of your poll. your count shows only 39 votes for kalamazoo but just a quick comment count shows 161 write it ins out of your 213 comments.

I am concerned that your "other" feature was not working very well and that your vote count may be inaccurate at best.

I could understand a 5% or so variance in the data however a 400% difference between the voting numbers and the comments? Let alone the people that voted under other and assumed their vote counted without adding a comment.

Based on your comment activity alone, Kalamazoo deserves a spot in your final poll. Hopefully one that will be conducted on a much more dependable poll application than polldaddy.com

    Would love your response.

This isnt " city with the best brewery" . If it was then bells would put GALESBURG on the map.

  • SSK - 11 years ago

Me three. Charleston, SC to add to the list!

  • Evan - 11 years ago

    Agreed. Charleston, South Carolina!

  • bb - 11 years ago

    Charleston, SC!

  • Bruce Taylor - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo is the place for BEER in Michigan.

  • Morgan - 11 years ago

How are there only 7 votes for Kalamazoo? This poll is wrong.

  • bil - 11 years ago

They are saying that there are 33 votes for Kalamazoo, but if you scroll down and count the different comments then you will find a lot more people stating that they have voted for Kalamazoo than 33. I got to 60 before I quit counting. Did a bunch of votes not count?

  • Charlie Papazian - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo is being counted. 33 votes so far

  • mstrange - 11 years ago

My vote is for Kalamazoo, Michigan!

  • Charlie Papazian - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo is being counted. 33 votes so far

  • Dave - 11 years ago

So my vote actually counts, put me down for KALAMAZOO, MI.
Just noticed the BeerCity 2012 (last years poll) has a large percentage for "Other"...question is, why was this year's poll programmed to shoot "Other" votes to Ann Arbor, clearly AA is not a popular vote.

  • Willis - 11 years ago

Another vote (that doesn't get counted) for Kalamazoo.

  • reptyler - 11 years ago

Get your act together Charlie Papazian. You can't know much about microbrewing, if you don't recognize Kalamaszoo, MI.

  • Jennifer G. - 11 years ago

Go Kalamazoo....Bell's wins it (hands down) for us!!!!

  • Pete - 11 years ago

    Indeed, Kalamazoo desrves this distinction

  • Todd - 11 years ago

I too voted for Kalamazoo as it is the RIGHT choice. However my vote and everyone else who voted for Kalamazoo got their vote cast for Ann Arbor. Whoever set up this poll doesnt know basics of computer programming. Ann Arbor is winning because everyone voted for Kalamazoo.

  • Kelly - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo, MI

  • Geoff - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo!

  • Rob Heasley - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids is the Midwest epicenter of craft brewing.

  • Lynda Stewart - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo Home of Bell's , do I need to say more?

  • bil - 11 years ago

    Others = 0????????
    What is going on?

  • bil - 11 years ago

Polldaddy is losing all of their creds. It looks like this poll is rigged and the results mean nothing. The question now is: Do they have an agenda? Why are they pushing Ann Arbor?

  • will - 11 years ago

Really??? How about GR? That place blows KZoo and Ann Arbor out of the water!!!

  • FullPhD - 11 years ago

    Cheers to Kalamazoo!

  • Susan Brannum - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo, MI gets my vote!!

  • drew - 11 years ago

All the kalamazoo votes are rigged to go to ann arbor...

  • Harold Glasser - 11 years ago

Please Kalamazoo, to your list. Awesome breweries. Probably more per capita than any other city in the US.

  • Gary Stock - 11 years ago

"Other" certainly does NOT have zero.

The rumor now spreading on Facebook: it's rigged to prevent Kalamazoo from winning.

So... before that goes viral... it'd be a ~really~ good idea to fix this...

  • Andrea - 11 years ago

I also voted for Kalamazoo.... The obvious Bells, but what about Gonzos Bigg Dogg, Boatyard Brewing, Arcadia (on the way), Olde Peninsula, Rupert's Brewhouse, Bravo, and others? Also, after I voted, "Other" continues to read 0. Feel pretty confident this is not working correctly :(

  • Deb - 11 years ago

    KALAMAZOO!

  • Larry B - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo, Michigan FTW ladies and gentlemen.

  • Diann Evans - 11 years ago

K-zoo is only available thru the other. I have voted, and according to the comment many others. One I know personally. How come "other" shows NO votes......the voting isn't doing something right

  • Michael - 11 years ago

Hello? Is anyone reading these comments? It looks like Kalamazoo, MI has already won the poll, but you still won't add a button? C'mon! Get with it. These other cities do not compare to Kalamazoo!

  • shibby191 - 11 years ago

Ann Arbor? Anyone with even a little research would know that Ann Arbor is not a place of craft beers. Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo are the two big craft brew cities in the state and both are mentioned a lot for top Beer Cities.

  • Tara - 11 years ago

Add Kalamazoo, MI to the list!!

  • Dan Moyle - 11 years ago

Why isn't "other" a vote? 0% for that? I doubt it. My vote: Kalamazoo, MI.

  • Rick - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo, Michigan should be included!

  • melissa m - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo, MI, home of Bells and soon to be home of Arcadia Brewing.

  • T Boerigter - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo, MI

  • Matt Jackson - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo!!!!

  • Kojack - 11 years ago

Also voted for Kalamazoo, MI. What gives!? We have one of the nations biggest breweries as well as SO many others here in town. I would definitely see Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo over any of these other places.

  • Alexis - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo!!!!

  • John Clark - 11 years ago

So, I just voted for Kalamazoo, MI and "Other" still has 0 votes. What's the deal here.

  • burnsie - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo or bust!!! Ann Arbor as an also-ran...

  • Charles M - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo! Between the breweries here (and Paw Paw Brewing 25 min away) I rarely drink any other beers.

  • Rambatron - 11 years ago

Went to school in Ann Arbor and still wouldn't vote for there. Beer in Ann Arbor has an imported and somewhat pretentious aroma to it. Ann Arbor has sub-par microbreweries who have not yet perfected their batches. And don't get me started the horrible quality of beers at the bars on South University, you would think they knew how to clean out their lines every so often. Skunk-beer anyone? East Lansing is no better, but who would vote anyways.

I want to vote for Kalamazoo, MI and Grand Rapids, MI but yet I can't because this Polldaddy thing hasn't conducted thorough research into the Michigan City Nominees.

    KALAMAZOO, MI
    GRAND RAPIDS, MI

  • Mary Sue Slack - 11 years ago

    Ah, KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN!!!!!

  • Chris K - 11 years ago

    KALAMAZOO.

  • Nathaniel Banks - 11 years ago

Both Kalamazoo, MI & Grand Rapids, MI have been making multiple top beer cities lists. Not only do both have many great microbreweries and brewpubs, they each feature a pretty big name: Bell's in Kalamazoo, and Founders in Grand Rapids. Ann Arbor, while a great city, simply does not compete with either of these. Yet that is the city listed as a choice, and votes for Kalamazoo under other aren't even getting recognized.

  • John - 11 years ago

What in the hell? My vote for Kzoo didn't take, but Ann Arbor ticked up by one.

    Unacceptable.

Ann Arbor is Michigan's version of Gary, Indiana. Ann Arbor is the kid in elementary school who reminds the teacher when she forgot to assign homework. Ann Arbor is the guy at the bar who talks over the TV about himself no matter how loud it is. Ann Arbor would not be on any map if it weren't for the existence of Michigan's third-best state college.

  • Chris Powers - 11 years ago

RALEIGH!? Lots of great breweries, craft beer bars & bottle shops! Get on it!

  • Loanvo - 11 years ago

I wish Richmond going to win, :-)

    Kalamazoo, MI is BeerCity USA.

  • Robert Cinabro - 11 years ago

Yes there really is a beer city.....Kalamazoo!!!!!!

  • jmg - 11 years ago

Kalamazoo, Michigan is the original beer city for the state. At least for microbrews.

  • JSwan - 11 years ago

    KALAMAZOO, MI!!!

  • Ashley - 11 years ago

  • Matt - 11 years ago

    KZOO. 'Nuff said.

  • Evan - 11 years ago

What ding-dong chose Ann Arbor over Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, or even Detroit? Especially Kalamazoo, I mean, COME ON!

  • Bad Andy - 11 years ago

Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo!

  • Emily Ford - 11 years ago

    Cheers to Kalamazoo!

  • Katie eaton - 11 years ago

  • Mike Hicks - 11 years ago

    Kalamazoo, Michigan!

    Kalamazoo baby!

  • Matthew Newton - 11 years ago

    You forgot one: Kalamazoo, MI.

  • Mike Galovan - 11 years ago

    Nobody beats Kalamazoo

  • Jan Underhill - 11 years ago

I hope this gets us listed, at least! Odd omission.

  • Dave - 11 years ago

I'm not sure why some people feel the need to be such a**holes about an online poll.

Yeah, I'm an idiot because I live in a city in which I can walk to four different breweries, a 72-tap beer bar, two outdoor beer gardens, and numerous other solid watering holes. I'm a short drive from five other breweries. I can always get Jolly Pumpkin special releases at the cafe here. The Michigan Summer Beer Festival takes place every year just down the road in Ypsilanti. We have other cool area festivals like German Park picnic and Oktoberfest. We have a large and active homebrewing community dating back to the early 1980s, who put on a huge homebrew competition every year with 400+ entries.

What Ann Arbor doesn't have, apparently, is an energetic and rude Internet sock puppet brigade. But otherwise, yeah, you're right, there's no beer in Ann Arbor and I'm just an idiot who is imagining all of this.

  • Ryan Dinkgrave - 11 years ago

Ann Arbor as Beer City? Seriously? Ain't nobody got time for that! Kalamazoo is the Mitten's Beer City and we're willing to share it with the rest of the country.

  • Craig - 11 years ago

Come on home of Bells Brewery..

  • Gtadamcz - 11 years ago

I find it hard to believe a poll claiming to crown the "beer city" does t have Kalamazoo on it. You should do your homework prior to sending out such a poll!

  • Jeni - 11 years ago

Just voted for KALAMAZOO, hands down! Cannot see the vote tally for "Other" - KALAMAZOO!

  • Terry - 11 years ago

Really? Can it even be a legit poll without listing Kalamazoo? Really?!

  • Terry - 11 years ago

Really? Can it even be a legit poll without listing Kalamazoo? Really?!

  • Kalamazoo Flash - 11 years ago

some idiot wrote: "Ann Arbor has four breweries, including Michigan's top-selling brewpub, son."

You call those breweries? Aside from football, Ann Arbor is the most un-fun city in North America.... possibly excluding Salt Lake City Utah

  • Ted Nugent - 11 years ago

who cares... just shoot some people.

  • Jason fullerton - 11 years ago

I like boys! .... and Ann Arbor.
