Oh dear ... where have these cyberliedem comments come from? Poll results are strange though - surely the congenital Tory vote would be in second place? Anyone out there really considering voting for Clegg's treacherous minions?

1600 people joined the SNP during the debate last night, more than lib dems have in Scotland
h - 10 years ago
I am so proud to be a member of the SNP. I have always been proud of them. They show integrity, concern for those in need, intelligence when it comes to balancing the books and dont indulge in childish name-calling. The upsurge in support is great for Scotland but if they find they have power in Westminster too, then I am very happy for the rest of the UK.
Anders Akermo - 10 years ago
Hey guys, sorry to disappoint... My below comment was of course written to highlight that the poll is flawed. Not to encourage cheating. My irony clearly didn't get through.
The good people of Gordon require a full time mp should will look after there intrest not their own .Scotland is on the middle of a tug of war competion . The snp want a one party state under their control , the other side want a democratic country were free speach and thoughts are allowed . Ps tell Alex were sorry he had to cancel his trip to the states on his book tour . Elections such a nuisance .

TVR Sagaris - please explain how CJ's single goal in life could possibly be to defeat Alex Salmond, when CJ had already been Lib Dem prospective candidate for Gordon for almost a year before Salmond decided to stand?
Alison Rollo - 10 years ago
just wish all the Unionist would realise as they can't beat us they should join us!! Let's all get this wee country free together -- the more to join the celebration party the better -- welcome you all!!!
Dawn - 10 years ago
Good luck to Alex who is the second most capable politician in Scotland, after Nicola! He is a major force in politics and the people of Gordon are lucky to have such a substantial candidate standing in their area again. The Lib Dems are a shadow of their former selves and will reap all that they deserve by selling out their policies to get their wee bit of glory propping up a cruel and egocentric Tory government.
TVR Sagaris - 10 years ago
Wow, reading some of these comments, I can see why this country is in a mess. One, we have one fella telling us he voted three times yet trying to sat that 'nats' are doing it, couldn't write it. Two you have this Gerry fella who has linked a propaganda website to his name, yeah I clicked on it, just a load of stories with no credibility or back up evidence. I voted no in the referendum, I wish I voted yes now so I will now be supporting the snp from now on (ex libdem). After reading CJ's flyers, she clearly has no vision for the area and would rather just beat salmond... A single goal in life. Salmond all the way.

"Wishful Thinking"
Alex Salmond has been busy running a country if he had time to do charity work, then the country would have suffered , the person you mentioned , by virtue of the fact that she is not in gov at moment herself, has a lot of time on her hands. Especially being a lib dem, as they are a reactive party.
Neil Munro - 10 years ago
Anders Akermo - You have voted 3 times, why? Not much point in having this if people cheat. Then you have the brass neck to say that Nationalists are probably doing the same. What a hypocrite you are.
Go back to your constituency and prepare for oblivion

More like it's time to stop the BritNAT lies and deceit, Aberdeen is the worst looking Oil Capital I've set foot in. Unionists have screwed Scotland, why should ANYONE here listen to anyone who's party is based in London. SNP are fighting for Scotland, which last time I checked Gordon is part of!
david alexander - 10 years ago
The libs? Put up a candidate in the kinglassie/glenrothes west by-election which the SNP won with 55% of the vote. Not only did the libs not put out any literature or campaigned at all - they never even had the decency to turn up to the count. Deserve no respect.

Galen1 - wrong the White paper was not an SNP publication. Basic error......
galen1 - 10 years ago
The White Paper was paid for by Scottish Taxpayers - it was a SNP manifesto that promised lots but costed nothing. This is so typical of the tactics of a Party that doesn't actually have any policies of their own outside their mantra of so-called Scottish Independence. It's time to STOP NATIONALIST PROPAGANDA once and for all before it's too late. Vote CJ or the cybernats will come for you after dark!
Anders Akermo - 10 years ago
I've just voted 3 times from the same laptop by reloading the page. I think the nats may have figured this out too....

I'm sorry? Haven't the Lib Dems been in bed with the Tories for the course of the last Government? They're toast in Scotland and rightly so
GingerTory - 10 years ago
@Wishful Thinking.
I think you'll find that Colin Clark also lives in the constituency, just outside Oldmeldrum.

linda - 10 years ago
Cmon Christine, the nats are crawling on the poll now, doesnt matter tho, what matters is May. Salmonds a meglomaniac and we are not in denial. Whats Salmond going to do for Gordon or its people., hes sitting boasting hes away to cause chaos in Westminster hes boasting hes away to write out the UK budget lol. So what is he going to do nothing!! The only person who cares about Gordon is Christine
Alex - 10 years ago
Your so much in denial its amusing, you could try sticking your fingers in your ears, shutting your eyes and recite la la la over and over,at this moment Ladbrokes have Mr Salmond 1/7 to win Gordon, that in bookmaking terms is called a certainty.
Those who think he will help the people of Gordon if he is elected should ask the people of Banff and Buchan how he helped them. You'll be surprised at how little he did for small local issues.
Salmond doesn't live in Gordon. He lives in Banff and Buchan. In fact, Christine Jardine is the only one of the main party candidates who lives in the seat. She was a SPAD for Nick Clegg, not for Cameron (technically, al SPADs work for the Prime Minister- shame you didn't bother checking.
Name half a dozen charities Alex Salmond "supports" with anything but words. Christine, On the other hand, volunteers at Marie Curie in Aberdeen every week

Fran salmond was that arrogant he was going to america to plug his book but hadto cancel because he is behind in polls
Bruce - 10 years ago
I've caught out Jardine speaking unsubstantiated rubbish on Twitter several times, I'm not the biggest fan of Salmond but he's more likely to bring improvements to the area seeing the Lib Dems are likely to be a fairly weak voice at Westminster and the SNP are not only going to strong in Westminster but also are the SGovt. Win win for Gordon.
Jardine used to work for David Cameron.. Think that says a lot.
LadyCampsie - 10 years ago
Salmond has no interest whatsoever in the constituents of Gordon, proved by his pathetic attempt to curry favor by abandoning his promotional tour for his book.
I assume that's because he realizes he's on a hiding to nothing in literary circles, although the nats will lap it up.
Keep quaffing the pink champagne Eck, people can see you for what you are now.
Christine will work for all of her constituents, not just the ones that fit her agenda.
fran - 10 years ago
How on earth does Christine Jardine think that Salmon is only interested in central belt. He lives in Gordon and supports many charities in the area. I don't know who's been polling on here but I bet it's not any locals.
Berry - 10 years ago
Mr Salmond is a bad bet.. He is only a politician because he can talk the talk. Dream on into retirement and write books, and we will elect CHRISTINE JARDINE .....................>> SHE IS dynamic, experienced and caring. She will look after GORDON and hinterland as our MP .............. AND she loves Scotland and the UK EQUALLY.
Doug Gibb - 10 years ago
Christine Jardine has impressed me with her grasp of the issues affectig Gordon but more so with her determination which it would appear will pay off. Hard work on the hustings and meeting Gordon people is what counts not prima donna grandstanding.

Alex, it's called people power. Our verdict on you and your appalling creed of self-entitlement.
Colin Wilson - 10 years ago
this poll will be turned on its head as soon as the SNP trolls get a whiff of it. As all previous comments say. Gordon needs an MP who will work for them. Alec Salmon thinks he's won but I think the silent majority will send him home again.
Catherine Moorehead - 10 years ago
Good for Christine Jardine! She'll make an excellent MP! Alex Salmond does not deserve election: treats the people of Gordon with disdain, like an old-fashioned absentee landlord.
FMcD - 10 years ago
We need Christine Jardine - she would be in parliament to represent us. Salmond would only be there to be a nuisance and he would certainly not be thinking of the best interests of the constituents. Two jobs indeed and the dubious charity to boot. Keep him and his ego out!
Irene - 10 years ago
Alex Salmond already thinks he's won this seat - please show him he's mistaken!
Avril - 10 years ago
Christine Jardine for me. Met her a few weeks ago ....An articulate, principled, hardworking lady who is looking positively to the future instead of clinging desperately to the past.
linda - 10 years ago
Alex Salmond is there for him and his ego, not for the people in Gordon. Hopefully the people in Gordon will know this and vote for Christine Jardine who will fight for them not for to cause chaos down in Westminster and his dreams of being DPM Absurd !
Anne - 10 years ago
The minute the CyberNats get a whiff of this they'll be on it quicker than a cat on a kipper. Of the two main contenders, Christine Jardine is the only one who will work tirelessly for the folk of Gordon, Aberdeenshire. The other is too busy quaffing pink fizz in a Green Room somewhere and wondering "Who's Gordon?"
Andrew Hassan - 10 years ago
The people of Gordon want/need a full time MP.
Not someone who will not resign from their existing full time job before the election claiming a charity donation is a sufficient sweetner.

The cybernats are well up for these online polling as the referendum showed. I'd suggest the real poll on the 7th May will reflect the ground war so if you fancy a wee flutter put your money on CJ before the odds narrow.

Fran. Salmond DOESNT support "many charities" at all. He supports ONE, HIS OWN!!
A charity operating in a relatively wealthy area. A charity that doesnt pay out much, or very often.
His "donations" were for 2 reasons. Writing the money off against tax, and buying votes (AGAIN).
If you want to see the true side of Salmond and the snp, read this
