Obama should redesign his own Presidential insignia once again. He just needs a picture of himself with a great big "1" on his forehead. I remember a interview where he said if he gets in the Oval Office the first thing he's going to do is sit back and say "this is cool". Cool huh? This dude Obama has a lot to learn and a long way to go before he can lead anything other than himself.

  • Louise Wilson - 16 years ago

Why is it that obama's supporters are always so nasty when making a comment? There's little substance but alot of maliciousness. They appear to be angry all of the time!

  • Jennifer - 16 years ago

    McCain is Real....Obama is fake....

McCain cares about us.....Obama cares about himself....

McCain rolled the dice again.....Obama ran away....

WAKE UP PEOPLE.....OBAMA CANNOT RUN THIS COUNTRY !!!!!

  • Carpetguy - 16 years ago

After reading some of the comments, I am afraid that America is in for a crises worse than this one, John McCain is the real thing, Barack Obama is not, those of his zombie followers are obviously uninformed idiots, I am surprised they even know how to type!

  • Peg - 16 years ago

The response of both candidates to this crisis is consistent with their history of political service. Senator McCain will roll up his sleeves and work toward a bypartisan solution for the good of the American people, just as he has done throughout his political career. Senator Obama will continue to campaign for office just as he has throughout his political career.

  • GOP Blair - 16 years ago

McCain's panic is about a week late. He doesnt have a clue. He didnt vote for the veterans. He never votes for the veterans. He has a 17 percent approval rate when it comes to veterans affairs. He claim to suspend his campaign is bogus. They are running everything speed ahead. He wants to do everything except debate. They numbers are trending very hard towards Obama.

Obama has a job. He is a US Senator. In the greatest chrisis of this century he should so his job.
A President can't just say call me if you need me.

I am sick of OBAMA!!! Today, in making his decision to continue on with his plans "as usual" until he received a personal invitation from President Bush to come to Washington and DO HIS JOB, he was perfectly content to sit back, once again, and, in essence, vote "Present." Our Nation is in the worst financial catastrophe since the Depression, and Obama felt no need or desire to be present and personally involved with the $700 Billion financial decision Congress is about to finalize!!! Obama is an EMPTY suit. His judgment is pathetic and completely self-centered. I continue to be COMPLETELY BAFFLED as to why, and HOW he EVER became a candidate for President. God help us!!!!

  • Ruth - 16 years ago

McCain is doing the right thing. I LOVE it on how what ever Sen. McCain says Obama suggested it earlier in the day....Give me a break!!!
Also WHY can't Obama look straight at the camera like others when talking tothe public? I don't trust anyone that can't look me in the eye when talking.
On the money mess WHY doesn't someone say what really happened is because of all the jobs that have left this country? No work-equals NO MONEY
to spend. It goes right back to Clinton era and the NAFTA deal.

Why would McCain wait a week to step up? Did he want to get out of the debate? Its a little to late for him to do anything now. He hasn't been in congress since April 2008. He's had no part in any of the structuring of the bill trying to be passed. Why would he wait until he got a phone call from Obama to decide to run home to his old job when hes trying to get a new one? Why would he drop everything he has been doing just to run back and get in the middle of something he has had no say in? His presence is nothing more than a political gimmick. he is using the economic crisis as a way out of the debate. Just like he used Palin as a pawn to get around Obama not picking Hillary. Typical politician. Debate your opponent. Dont be scared. When you only qualification is getting shot down in the only war America has lost you really dont have much to run on when you think about it.

Greta, thank you for delving into the crisis our country is in.
My husband and I both believe that John McCain is truly putting our country and all that have helped make this country the place the whole world looks up to.
My husband came to America in 1958 at the top of his career as a professional futbol (soccer) player. He left his homeland in The Netherlands to go to the land of opportunity. I must say he did find his nitch, and found success by starting his own business. We love America and want us to get back to the proud country we should be. By the way, I am from New York, and am still trying to get over the hurt of 9/11. God Bless America!!!!
    And country first!!!

I just pray Americans will do the right thing and elect Senator McCain. For the frst time in my life I am supporting a Republican. God knows what will happen to us if Obama is elected!

  • Fan of America - 16 years ago

Obama is showing the voters what is important to him. Trying to show his intelligence. McCain may be doing Obama a favor.

  • Vicki - 16 years ago

I'd like to see John McCain make the people responsible FAMOUS. Take names and let the public know how this happened and who did this. Gutsy move on McCain's part, but then we've seen him do a lot of gutsy things over his lifetime. Who cares about a debate, besides the media. That's who's angry, not the American people. You guys gotta stop putting your feelings off on us.

  • Stephen - 16 years ago

On such a critical issue Senator Obama has decided not to join in and help. This time he won't be able to vote "Present". He has decided to put his campaign ahead of our countries "Clear and Present Danger". He once again wants everyone else to tell him what to do. Is he going to do a national survey when that infamous phone rings at 3:00am? Senator Obama is not a leader, he is a follower of public opinion, and regrettably public opinion hasn't been that great or we wouldn't have the current congress we now have.

  • betova - 16 years ago

I see that a lot of people think that John Mccain is going to fix everything, you are all delusional, that was a political moves because he is losing on the latest poll, he wanted to do something that show that he is presidential that's why he is doing this. I'm not saying that he does not put country first but not today.

  • Butch Stasko - 16 years ago

I find John McCain's decision to put the well being of his country infront of his own personal ambitions to be inspirational. I was leaning towards Obama but now I am supporting McCain. It will be the first time I have ever voted for a Republican. This is the kind of bipartisan leadership we need in the White House.

  • rh - 16 years ago

Why are we paying Obama and McCain $176,000 a year? It shouldn't be a free handout. I admire McCain for putting country first. Obama needs to get his butt back to Washington and help solve this crisis instead of taking our money and putting his interest before the country's. I certainly don't feel comfortable with B. Frank's judgement. Look at his past history.

john mccain is the true patroit, his service to his country has proven this.
He is working on keeping us safe first, and now he is trying to save our
economy, by postponing the debate. obama doesn't know what to do
he is waiting for ted kennedy and other democratic leaders to tell him.
I can't believe democratic americans don't see obama is not presidential
material. We are going to be in a lot more trouble than we are today if
we don't elect john mccain. There is plenty of time to debate.

I believe McCain has the interest of the country at heart and is doing the prudent thing in going back to Washington to work on this. Sarah Palin also has the country's future in mind an they both will be the best thing for this country. After this issue is resolved they both can go back out and resume the debates or town hall meetings, which I would prefer to see as they are impromptu questions and honest responses.

Multi tasking is a good thing, but you have to pay attention to the most important project to succeed. Obviously the debate is more important to one than the other. Both are sitting Senators, and are still being paid by their respective states. Which is the most important duty to the citizenry? Call me if you need my advice. I am present.

I think McCain is doing what he should do, he was elected to help run our country and now is the time. I hope and pray they get it right because we are the one that will suffer in the end. Our next President and Vice President WILL have to deal with this problem, so McCain is looking to hopfully his future and our future as American's.

  • K. Johnson - 16 years ago

John McCain is showing true leadership. He cares more for his country than his opponet Barrack Obama. Obama is a selfish & very self serving individual. I would rather they solve this problem rather than listen to Obama & his oratory. It is a shame that he cannot put his country first. Some of the people who have worked on his campaign are at the root of this problem. But you won't here him talk about it. I am originally from Chicago & there is some real problems with this man. Bully (using Teddy Roosevelt's term) for John McCain & his patriotism. I least he is thinking of his country. We all need to realize what Barrack Obama really stands for.

  • Danii - 16 years ago

I was very proud to be an American today, to see John McCain step up to the plate, stop his campaign, stop the ads, and head back to Washington to work. I was very disappointed to see Barack Obama say out of one side of his mouth that this is a crisis, and then "call me if you need me while I am out campaigning and multi-tasking" from the other. Everyone is quite aware that a leader must wear many hats, and handle many issues at the same time. But a true leader knows when he has to choose to drop everything else and deal with the crisis at hand, rather than continue to "let the people hear from him" on the campaign trail and in the form of these ridiculous ads from BOTH Senators that should be stopped, or insist on the upcoming debate. The American People do not care if the debate is Friday night or Monday night - the debate is not as important to us as the crisis at hand. And the Campaign Debate Committee should be acting "American" as well - and dealing with it. We don't care who called whom or what time it was, only that they both agree to act as the elected officials that the are, and do what is best for us at this crucial time. Hats off to both of them for going to Washington to meet with the President and his Congressional Committee on Thursday, and Godspeed their work. And one note to both campaigns about the ads: do you honestly think that ANYONE will make a decision based on these ridiculous ads? In none of my conversations is anyone affected by them at all other than with disdain that they are spending their campaign funds this way! If you want to run ads, which you do not need to do at all - at least run ads with integrity, that simply state your issues. The man who stopped the type of ads being run now is the true leader - and would get my vote, and that of many, many others.

Obama is only interested in the election. He has all these dirty men on his economy staff that took money from Fannie & Freddie, so why would he be interested in punishing them. The Democrats blocked every try at regulation of these two huge companies because Obama and several other Democratic Senators took money from them. Would you implicate yourself? Obama will not either. McCain is an honorable man. He gets my vote.

This is my first response to any question/s onTV and I was surprised to read from your respondent overwhelming conservative. Your Motto may be "Fair and Balance" but your listeners are very conservative. I would like to hear the debate on Friday because we need to know if McCain or Obamma will "Bully" the rest of the world like PRESIDENT BUSH. OH BY THE WAY, I DO HAVE A SON IN THE ARM SERVICES AND I DO NOT WANT HIS BODY RETURNED TO ME IN A FLAG DRAPPED COFFIN. Since I'm a well educated, well read, 73 year old person McCain is just to old--God help us if Paplin is
given the presidency--DO WE HAVE TO BELIEVE IN WITCHCRAFT LIKE HER MINISTER. WILL WE HAVE ANOTHER SALEM? By the way, please ask her not to parade her pregnant daughter and make it seem like an OK thing to do.
We are trying to teach our children that they should wait for marriage to have sex. God help us with her lies about the plane, the bridge, troopergate, etc.

MCCAIN IS PUTTING COUNTRY FIRST....LET'S SEE, HOW MAY TOWN HALL
MEETINGS DID MCCAIN WANT OBAMA TO DO? 10...HE DID NONE...WHOSE
AFRAID OF DEBATING? I THINK THE DEBATE SHOULD BE PUT OFF IF
A SOLUTION IS NOT FOUND....HAS CONGRESS CALLED FOR ANY
INVESTIGATIONS INTO WHOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MESS...NO.
THAT IN IT SELF TELLS YOU SOMETHING...MCCAIN/PALIN

  • Gib - 16 years ago

Why dont McCain want anyone talking to Palin , I have never
seen anything like this , what are they afraid of someone finding out.
And also i think McCain tried to put off the debates so it would
put the VP debate off too . If she is so smart why dont the McCain
camp want to show her off to the world .Maybe he is afraid that she
will tell so many lies that it will be embarrassing , why else would
he be ashamed of her . Or else it will hurt his campaign .Obama for
    2008 .

  • John from Whidbey Island - 16 years ago

Always Country First! This man is one of the few true American heroes that ever was in politics. After the saving & loan debacle, he put himself up for judgment by an open meeting. I think he will not be a quiet president. We will always know where he is coming from. I am a Vietnam era vet and I will always have a great respect for him. Thanks

  • Dave - 16 years ago

McCain for President..........................we need someone that can make a decision and stand up for us, the people. Obama votes present on this one too?

McCain Puts Country (USA) First in all he does. VOTE McCAIN save the USA!

  • Vicky - 16 years ago

What has led us to this financial crisis? Consolidation of banks in the late 80's/early 90's. Now, with fewer banks, it becomes more of a crisis when one big bank goes under than several small S&L's. Then, we have a huge real estate boom in 2005 - funded by foreign money. Well, who was that foreign money who then pulled the rug out of the economy in 2007. Why are politicians panicking? Could this be the new arena for Al Quieda? They promised an attack of proportions like we have never seen. Interesting these problems surface as we are in the height of a presidential election and even in the market crash of 1929 we elected a president before the New Deal was formulated.

  • Kenneth Caubble - 16 years ago

John McCain is a Senator. This is a crisis that requires a ALL involved to perform their duty for which they were elected. He was elected to represent, not to be a canditate for another office. I think he has shown great judgement in putting his responsibilities first. Obama is still proving that he is afraid to vote yes or no. He would rather try to straddle the fence, and demonstrate his "elequence" in a debate.

    Thanks:
    Kenneth

  • Terri - 16 years ago

Senator McCain is putting his country first!
Senator Obama is most likely afraid he won't have time to memorize basic information for the debate Friday.
I beleive this is typical of Senator Obama, he won't have a teleprompter and he can't wait for Senator McCain to give his plan so that he can analyse it and latch on to the portions he thinks most americans agree with.

I'm very proud of McCain's actions. I'm sad that Obama would actually rather play campaign politics at the expense of real people's money and investments.

IMHO, both candidates just showed their true colors.

  • Tad Bergan - 16 years ago

  • Independent Individual - 16 years ago

He is definitely putting his Country first, which is a lot more than I can say for Obama.

  • Andrew Hokenson - 16 years ago

The most unbelievable part of this whole crisis is that it takes a Presidential invitation to get Obama to go to Washington D.C. and do the job that his state elected him to do. This is yet another example of how unqualified this man is of leading our country.

  • Donna in Mass - 16 years ago

McCain has proven himself to stand up for his country. He isn't into himself like Obama. Obama can't answer questions without all the um's and ah's that don't appear on his practiced and written for him speaches that everyone loves. McCain is honorable and wants what is best for America first.

  • darryle - 16 years ago

crisis situation-- options-go around and talk about it and blame everybody or roll up your sleeves and do what you were elected to do, solve it. what did obama do? what did mccain do? everybody can do the talk.. BUT ONLY A FEW DO THE WALK. MCCAIN DOES THE WALK. THAT'S WHO I WANT.

  • Chris J. - 16 years ago

Why is Greta letting B Frank git away with his bull, when he is one of the guys that along with Summer were talking up these banks lending to people that could not pay for food much less a house but it made them look good at the time! but now they are doing the old democrat two step. These guys should be in jail with the bankers.

  • Bev Dotson - 16 years ago

Senator McCain has shown he puts his country first! How can Senator Obama remain in Florida being coached for a debate when we face a financial crisis. He has to be "invited" to return to Washington. What happened to his duty as a senator? Why is it he always "lays back" and does not express any opinion until he "tests the waters". We need a president that "thinks on his feet". A concerned American! Thank you.

  • GOP Blair - 16 years ago

As a former military member I can't believe what I have seen over the past 6 months of the is run for the White House.
    McCain Campaign = Shame
    McCain Campaign = Disgust
    McCain Campaign = Dishonor
    McCain Campaign = Disorder
    McCain Campaign = Lies
Palin is a mental lightweight. She is a lead weight on the McCain. They have had to throw the kitchen sink because they don't have a message. McCain could have won this election if he was the McCain of 2000. I am being forced to vote for Obama. Obama has everything that McCain has lost.

  • Kim A Norman - 16 years ago

I am sick of Obama! He doesn't care about you or me, or OUR GREAT COUNTRY!!! He is a BIG BAD WOLF in sheeps clothing, always has been and always will be!!! Americans had better open their eyes before they get them gouged out forever!!!!!

  • Robbie - 16 years ago

John McCain is a man of honor. I have no doubt that he is more than ready for the debate. Honestly, the democrates should take this extra time to brush up on their slippery words while the future President puts his country first and formost. God Bless John McCain.

  • Mary - 16 years ago

John McCain is an honorable man and his decision today once again reflects his deep integrity and love of this country. God bless him. We need him.

  • Lynda - 16 years ago

Senator McCain is a senator from my state, Arizona, and that is what he is still getting paid to do, represent the people of this state. Of course he should be in Washington helping with a bill that will ease our financial crisis. Obama hasn't been in the Senate half the time since he was elected. If McCain is elected President, he has a vested interest in whatever is pushed through Congress as will Obama. It doesn't sound like Obama is that concerned about what he may have to deal with if he becomes President.

  • Melissa - 16 years ago

I think Mc Cain is doing the right thing.
If Obama doesn't want to go do his job now, what makes people think he can govern this country? He isn't fit or able to be president. Let's all pray he doesn't win the election.

This will show that a "PRESENT" vote will NOT be good enough. OBAMA will have to take a stand on something and actually have an opinion, or cast one for something that may or may not be popular. Finally actual fodder for thought...finally we MAY get something besides evasive propaganda.

  • Denny Mitts - 16 years ago

I think that Newt Gingrich should be at the metting with the president tomorrow with Oboma and McCahin. I think he has the best solution to the problem.

  • Lexie Brown - 16 years ago

I am proud of Senator McCain. He shows that love of Country comes before all other commitment: even his own campaign. He is definitely a hero, not only during the war and his years as a POW but during a severe crisis that our country is in. He shows what he is made out of. We need him in the White House more then ever! Pray for that to happen!

  • Barbara - 16 years ago

I agree with John McCain, they do need to put campaigning aside at this moment and do what we have elected them to do. They do have a job of serving our country right now. We have a president, what we need now is for our other elected officials to work with President Bush now. They can go back to their campaigns when our crisis has been worked on and settled. Let their other campaigners do there campaigning until they can get back to it.
PUT OUR COUNTRY FIRST. We have people have already elected you to do a job now. Again, remember we do have a PRESIDENT already in office.

  • Ann - 16 years ago

Obama's comments this afternoon shows that he doesn't understand the importance of getting this crisis under control - if they call him back he will come to Washington - right. The people in Illinois voted for him to represent them - not run a campaign and forget the needs of his state and country. Perhaps he will vote PRESENT when he needs to vote. That way he can claim he didn't vote for this - wonder what other bills he voted present in the past! Do you get the feeling he tries to avoid anything that might be controversial. I get the feeling perhaps he was GROOMED to run for President - but by whom?

McCain is displaying leadership whereas Obama is showing his ego first,... we don't need any more of that leadership in Washington.

  • Jean - 16 years ago

Well, this crisis didn't happen at 3:00 in the morning, but it is a CRISIS just the same. Of course, John McCain is on his way to help. It took the President asking before Obama was willing to do the same. MCCAIN TO THE RESCUE!! Go John, Go!!!!

To Palease. McCain knows as much as Obama about the economy. Obama just doesn't admit that he gets all of his talking points from "others". If Obama becomes president, everyone else will be making the decisions for him and he will be taking all of the credit. Did you hear him say that he called McCain this morning and ttttttold, uh,uh,....(oops), and McCain called "me" back. Voted for Goldwater in '64-straight Rep. since. Sorry to see what I would expect in Fox poll-with a fundamentally sound economy why run to Washington?

McCain has always put his country first. He is an honest man who doesn't care what the political fallout is when it comes to doing what he thinks is best for our country. He has proven his loyalty to our country. I admire the fact that he has gone against his own party to stay true to what he believes is the right thing to do. I am so sick and tired of fighting all the time. When someone does wrong in the political parties, it is as if we all try to cover for the one who did wrong. Politicians say they want to get along, but it is one gossip session after another. Perfectly good people getting slandered by the Hollywood crowd and News media. Sincerely Sick and Tired in Iowa

I believe John McCain is doing the right thing for the right reason. He has always put COUNTRY FIRST even when it cost him years of his life in conditions most of us can't imagine. He has the stuff of a great American and a great President.

To blame this on the Democrats is absolutely ridiculous. You need an education in economics. The Republicans have fought for years to de-regulate the financial markets and energy commodities trading. Republicans have had control of the Congress for 12 of the last 14 years, and control of the White House for 8 of the last 14. It is because of scum-bags like Phil Graham (Mccain's former economic advisor), and Rick Davis (McCains Campaign Manager) that we are in this mess. We cannot give $700 billion to these Corporate thugs. Look what the money they had. If we gave $7000 to 100,000,000 Americans with stipulations on what they could do with the money (ex. pay car note, house note, 401k withdrawal penalties, CD withdrawal penalties, etc.) we could help the economy without putting more money into the hands of irresponsible corporate heads. Imagine Wall-Street is a forest and these rotten companies are underbrush. This crisis is a forest fire, and some of the trees will get burned as the underbrush is killed off, but the strongest will survive. While the fire burns we should help evacuate victims (give money to average middle class people in need) and build fire breaks to help protect homes (healthy companies should be protected by law). We all struggle but in the end we come out strong.

How can many of you look people straight in the face and pretend not to see through the lies and hipocracy of McCain's Campaign and ignore that Republicans have been in power for 6 of the last 8 years.
Remember, we currently have a Republican president and this has happened under his administration. Its time to have a Democrat reduce the deficit, bring real reform, end the war honorably and focus on our economic and domestic issues. Enough is enough!

Its clear that Obama is only focused on one simple minded thing. HIMSELF! His actions clearly indicate that his deepest concerns lie far from the country and the American people. McCain, however, is doing what any great leader would do. Put the country and the American people above himself. He understands what true service to the country is. Obama doesn't have a clue!

  • Deanna - 16 years ago

McCain is doing the right thing. Obama is a selfish weasel. Who wants to watch a debate with this crisis going on. Obama does not get it.

  • phyllis from Alabama - 16 years ago

I have grave respect for Sen. McCain, but I think his standoff is a political ploy. We all know the government said they will solve this crisis by Friday. I think he can still debate on Friday. This shouldn't be an issue. I believe both candidates put their country first. Obama is right. McCain should be able to multi- task. If he can't. He's the wrong man for the job. The american people deserve to here their views and their standing on the issues. Neither of them are president now; therefore, his not debating should be an issue. McCain should debate. Stop grand standing!

  • Maryann - 16 years ago

McCain has always put country first. That is why this democrat is voting for him. He is the real deal and will do what is best for our county.

First Obama is a follower NOT A LEADER 1) Obama laid low in the brush not willing to give his plan on fixing our economic crisis where as 2) McCain not only laid out his plan clearly to the american public but did so in a well thought out and presidential way so much so that 3) First, Obama came out critical of the fact that McCain felt like an oversight committee needs to be in place and Obama made fun as a old political manuever on McCain's part4) Now Obama talks today as that is one of the criteria that he agrees with McCain on and goes as far as displaying his arrogance as saying that MCCAIN ADOPTS HIS(OBAMAS)VIEW OF having an oversight committee...5) this is NO LEADER ONLY A FOLLOWER.5) he can't make a split second accurate decision he is driven by polls and not putting the people of this country first.6) he declines to go to washington and suspend his campaign he believe he has been briefed by phone accordingly and can make decisions from afar 7) tonight we find out the President calls Obama and Obama decides to go..how is it in a period of 4 hours or less that Obama changes his mind because the president calls and requests he attends a meeting...THE VERY SAME MEETING THAT MCCAIN HAD PREVIOUSLY ASKED HIM TO COME TO WASHINGTON AND BE A PART OF TO WHICH HE DECLINED.....people dont you see what is going on..he could not agree with mccain for fear he would look like he was following Mccain ..he put himself before US..yes US the US THE COUNTRY.....he is a JOKE and I hope everyone wakes up in time to see his true intentions and that is that he will do whatever it takes to become president of the united states.

He said a president has to multitask...WELL NEWSFLASH.......YOU ARE NOT THE PRESIDENT YOU ARE A US SENATOR THAT HAS A PAID DUTY TO GET TO WASHINGTON AND VOTE....YES VOTE YES OR NO!

  • Henry - 16 years ago

I agree with above, "Sick of Politicians". We have to elect a President every 4 years. I say it is time we get rid of the deadwood in the House And Senate. (SORRY-Ted Kennedy was never a John Kennedy) I have always been a Democrat, but, no longer. Senator McCain looks and acts as a President should. All I hear is OBAMA....OBAMA....OBAMA. No I can not get around the idea, in America, my Presidents name is Barack Obama.

  • Etta Fanning - 16 years ago

Senator McCain heads to Washington to address the economic crisis, putting his country first. "If you need me, call me", said Senator Obama. Which of these men do you want as leader of our country? Who would you like making decisions affecting your children and grandchildren? Think about it.

  • Don - 16 years ago

Sen. McCain is about country first, always will be. Im sure that he will always answer the phone at 3am with "Good Morning what can I do for you."
    God Bless America

  • andy - 16 years ago

the next president of the U.S.A. is doing the wright thing and that @@@@@@ wants to stay at home and think of some lies to tell the american people. we know who is more important, its you and i. thanks McCain, and lets see if obama tells PRESIDENT BUSH NO.

  • Tommy Ates - 16 years ago

QUESTION: Should John McCain suspend his campaign to save his sagging poll numbers to take some credit for the economy that he said was "strong" and took credit poll, but admitted in an interview that "that the economy was not his strong suit"? YES or YES, MASTER. Repuglican hordes, decide.

  • Jeanine Smith - 16 years ago

Remember that yesterday Harry Reid said that McCain was NEEDED back in Washington to help with negotiations and work on the crisis. Today, after McCain took a stand and announced he would not debate on Friday but would go back to work in Washington until this was solved, Reid said he wasn't needed. And, if I've got my facts straight, it sounds like Bush invited Obama back to Washington because McCain asked Bush to call a meeting between them and others. I remember "Slick Willie," but I swear, Obama has him beat. I consider Obama an extremely dangerous person, and I am terrified at the thought of the damage he could, and would, do to our country if he were to win this election. And the economy...for the life of me I cannot begin to understand the mentality of anyone who really thinks, according to some recent polls, that Obama would be better at managing the economy. And, no, Mr. Obama...a debate with more talk is NOT what is most needed at this point in time. I, too, am sick of politicians. But I'm especially disgusted with Congress, most all of them, but particularly Democrats. I can't believe we actually pay for this kind of service. And at election time, we get more of the same!

  • OBSAMA BIN BIDEN - 16 years ago

NObama needs a TELEPROMPTER in his debates??? McCain and Palin are natural speakers, natural leaders. Obsama is a stuttering gumby who wasn't even born a citizen for crying out loud!

  • Chris McCall - 16 years ago

John McCain has shown that country is first. Obama has shown that he is first. The country is in dire need of leadership and needs our congressmen on the job, not by the phone.

  • Dave Ketelsen - 16 years ago

If McCain can contribute to getting a deal done by the weekend, it is worth rescheduling a 2 hr exchange. Obviously we are in worse trouble as a nation than anyone of us knew, including every senator and representative. Let's not do to ourselves what BinLadin could not do on 9/11.

  • Ted M. Baker - 16 years ago

Just another reason why Obamba does not have what it takes to be president. His arrogance and lack of leadership at a time when our country is in crisis is overwhelmingly obvious in his response to the debate issue. This is not a time for political manuvers but for real leadership. He has put a new meaning to the term B.O. This smells to high heaven. Don't be deceived! B.O. does not have our best interest at heart!

BHO, can't think on his feet, he would need his advisors to tell him how to vote on this urgent problem.
