We don't vacation often as our kids are so involved in summer sports... so, that means lots of FAMILY TIME for us!

  • Andra McEwen - 7 years ago

My daughter was a counselor for Winshape and was able to travel all summer. We were able to live vicariously thru her pursuits of working with kids and being a mentor and seeing different areas of the US. We were able to visit her a few times also.

One of my favorite things to do was taking my granddaughter to the pool and playing in the water with her.

Didn't really do much - worked. My boyfriend is a Sheriff Deputy so we don't get much time off. Trying to get a new house built. Survived to flooding in La Grange this week from Hurricane Harvey so that is probably the best part.

My two grown children and I had the privilege to travel across the country to Louisiana and North Carolina. We went on swamp tours, chased fireflies, and met face to face dear friends and mentors. Sweet memories and so much fun!

Our favorite moments of our summer were things that were simple and easy....that way we got time to really enjoy whatever it is we were doing. We work so hard so when we're not working it's always super fun to spend time with our two Grandchildren who are true treasures and so silly and fun to be with. Makes all of our work days just disappear. They're each growing up so fast and becoming two amazing individuals and it's fun to be a part of that and their lives. Most of the time this summer was just myself, my hubby and our dog Mikey enjoying each other with fun day trips, BBQ'ing and watching movies! All in all....a wonderful summer for us! :)
