Sophia's Heart Foundation was founded upon the life of an extraordinary woman whose love for children overflowed and touched the lives of countless others. Sophia was a very outgoing woman who, despite her heart condition, remained full of optimism, energy, and selflessness. During her vibrant and meaningful 27 years of life, she relayed the importance of meeting the needs of children emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.

Please. I am begging you not to give it to SHF. :( It is breaking my heart to see these legitimate charities losing out to a charity that doesn't even do anything. Seriously. Besides "helping children around the world," can anyone tell me something specific the foundation has done or is planning to do that is as impactful as saving children from life threatening diseases?
I am just so sad that fan mentality may deprive a child of life. I am not a Danny hater. I am just so passionate about these causes and am crushed that the money may not end up in the right hands. :(

I have to agree that the charities are all very worthy (after reading comments, I have doubts about one). However, I have personally been most affected by the precious children that have to live and die with Tay-Sachs, etc. diseases. Lilie Clark, Isaiah Cairns, Charles Anderson, Elise Rochman, Kaiden Lear,Elise TenBerge, Amelia Alford, Molly Grace Jordan, Riley Luce, Emily, William Marqhart, Dakota Bihn, and so many more that have suffered through Tay-Sachs, Sandhoff, GM1, etc. These children have such beautiful spirits although they never speak, walk, or have many gross motor skills past 6 months. A Cure is in reach....please know that your odds of having a child affected with these diseases is greater than you can imagine!! This is a most WORTHY cause.

That is because Nick went to Danny Gokey and his fans asking for 10k followers
for 10k to charity. All Danny's fans followed him for the 10k for SHF. So all those same people from Danny's camp are voting for Danny's foundation soley on their crazed fan menatality, not where funds would make a difference to saving LIVES. curetay-sachs.org only needs a few million for research to help find a cure for this 100% deadly disorder of children. So far they have recieved only 800+k in donations, It is a real tragic disorder and many are carriers. Hopefully more research and a cure could be found before you or I ever have a child with this disorder and have to watch our child suffer their entire short life and succumb from this horrible disease.

All of the charities in the poll are deserving of $10,000. I selected Sophia's Heart Foundation. Anyone who has ever been involved in not-for profit knows that funding is the major reason why a not-for-profit succeeds or fails. Beginning a foundation takes commitment, time and money. Charities start with commitment by caring people who are willing to devote time to a good cause. This world needs more people like those who are committed to Sophia's Foundation. It is so admirable to me when individuals care so much about helping others that they take the intitiative to put their commitment to work and build a not-for profit organization. It takes very special people to do this and when they put 100% into their efforts and come up short ONLY because the funding is not available it is tragic for those involved in the organization, but mostly for those many people in need who are served by the organizaton. Those of us who do not have the commitment, time, or means that it takes to organize a foundation, surely can open our wallets to make sure that organizations like Sophia's Heart Foundation do succeed.
A note to the individuals who are writing hateful things on this page. Where is your commitment to help others, to open your heart to others? I notice that those individuals who are writing these negative comments do not even mention which charity they support. The reason for that is because you people do not care about ANY of the charites listed. You only care about spreading hate. Why would anyone give money to a brand new charity with no proven track record? Do you know how each dollar will be spent - how much will go into "salaries and admin costs" vs. actual program costs? They have no financial info on their website as of yet, just "plans" that sound good in theory.
SHF needs to mature and prove itself before taking good money away from legit, deserving charities that do wonderful work.
It is winning in the pools simply because of gokey's run on AI and his fans are blindly voting for SHF..... very sad indeed.

I voted for Sophia' Heart Foundation because it is a foundation that is growing and will touch the lives of many young people. While all of those charities are amazing and would be very blessed with 10K I believe the money should go to Sophias Heart Foundation =) For many reasons, one of which being without Danny Gokey I wouldn't have even known this 'project' existed, but also because SHF is a young foundation and could do with the help! I believe it is going to be a GREAT foundation that will influence, for the better, so many childrens lives!

for 10k to charity. All Danny's fans followed him for the 10k for SHF. So all those same people from Danny's camp are voting for Danny's foundation soley on their crazed fan menatality, not where funds would make a difference to saving LIVES. curetay-sachs.org only needs a few million for research to help find a cure for this 100% deadly disorder of children. So far they have recieved only 800+k in donations, It is a real tragic disorder and many are carriers. All of the charities in the poll are deserving of $10,000. I selected Sophia's Heart Foundation. Anyone who has ever been involved in not-for profit knows that funding is the major reason why a not-for-profit succeeds or fails. Beginning a foundation takes commitment, time and money. Charities start with commitment by caring people who are willing to devote time to a good cause. This world needs more people like those who are committed to Sophia's Foundation. It is so admirable to me when individuals care so much about helping others that they take the intitiative to put their commitment to work and build a not-for profit organization. It takes very special people to do this and when they put 100% into their efforts and come up short ONLY because the funding is not available it is tragic for those involved in the organization, but mostly for those many people in need who are served by the organizaton. Those of us who do not have the commitment, time, or means that it takes to organize a foundation, surely can open our wallets to make sure that organizations like Sophia's Heart Foundation do succeed.

Why would anyone give money to a brand new charity with no proven track record? Do you know how each dollar will be spent - how much will go into "salaries and admin costs" vs. actual program costs? They have no financial info on their website as of yet, just "plans" that sound good in theory.

And if he was so crushed, why did he audition for a reality show right after she died and exploit the tragedy for gain? And why did he hastily arrange a charity with his Church's shady pastor the moment he knew he'd be on national television? Huh? I haven't seen such a grief from a Widower since Scott Peterson.

While all of those charities are amazing and would be very blessed with 10K I believe the money should go to Sophias Heart Foundation =) For many reasons, one of which being without Danny Gokey I wouldn't have even known this 'project' existed, but also because SHF is a young foundation and could do with the help! I believe it is going to be a GREAT foundation that will influence, for the better, so many childrens lives!
