You don't attend a church where you disagree with the minister's philosophy. BO should also know that you are judged by the company that you keep. If he didn't know what was being said, he should have found out. It's a little to late for him to try and distance himself now, don't you think?
Obama's statement that after 20 years of involvement with this man he did not know this man hated America is not believable.

i think that Fox new is the real racist, all of their new shows, show black in a negative light. Here in Miami, Fox news and channel seven news seem to think black people don't exist. what we need to do is boycott all Fox show and new nationwide and show their advertisers that we do exist.

I saw the interview with Major Garrett and believe that senator Obama was not telling the truth about not having heard Rev. Wright say things like this about America many times before. I would not entrust senator Obama as president of these United States.

Surely Obama isn't going to further insult our intelligence by trying to persuade us that in twenty years he didn't have this guy figured out. This association only further proves this guy is a left-wing madman.
Pat - 18 years ago
Senator Obama says he never heard his pastor say this things. All well and good, but now that he has heard, as have the rest of us, he should take his family to a church with true Christian, biblical values. There is a church in Chicago whose Pastor is Bill Winston. I've heard his teaching and his teaching and preaching is Bible-based. Good teaching to sit under, Mr. and Mrs. Obama, and raise your children.
michael carey - 18 years ago
I caucused for Obama in WA State.. If I knew he belonged to a racist and anti semetic church I would have went for hillary. I attend a church and most every church (his included) states their fundamental beliefs. That church belief system is very racist. As a white male who caused for 2 hours in obama's behalf I am ashamed to learn his affiliation. If I attended a church that espoused the same views but replaced black with white I would be guilty of attanding a white supremacy church. Sen Obamas judgement is in question after spending 20 years at that church..
S Tracey - 18 years ago
I am insulted that he actually believes people are so stupid to believe on one hand he has attended this church for 20 years, was married by Pastor Wright, had his children baptized by Pastor Wright, characterizes Pastor Wright as an "uncle" and lists him as a spiritual adviser, yet on the other hand accept his version that this is the first time he's ever heard Pastor Wright make these reprehensible statements? Please.....If Senator Obama is as close to Pastor Wright as he's claimed in the past, I guarantee he has heard MUCH WORSE. This is an outrage!!!!

I think that Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr has every right to speak like that. As a white american young adult I feel the same as he does. It has nothing to do with race or religion or anything like that. I hate what America has become. I love the ideal America Barack could provide. This will not effect my vote at all!!!

After listening to the news these past few days (atleast from non biased stations), America needs to re-evaluate their thoughts on Obama. A man, that stated he's known the reverand for 20years, can not, and look me in the eye, didn't know what this reverand was about! Perhaps Obama isn't a racist, perhaps he "loves" all Americans, but it leads me to believe he wants you to believe this to become President. As much as I don't want Hillary to run, Obama really needs to drop out!
Patty - 18 years ago
Wright is a black racist. This type of speech is reprehensible, especially in a so-called 'church.' The only other person that I have heard speak in this manner is Fred Phelps, so perhaps he and Wright should join forces. There is an old saying, "If you lie with dogs, you get fleas." B. Hussein has fleas.

I'm glad Newt brought out the fact that after 20 years of hearing this kind of hate speach - you're bound to start believing it...AND it is no coincidence that Obama will not pledge allegiance to the US Flag, not even to wear a lapel pin.
And he really is suffering because his ancestors were inslaved....Harvard....oh my what a tough life! I'm not saying slavery was right - but HE and his WIFE certainly are better off than the folks in Mosambique and Nigeria!
Aweful American who DOES salute the flag and LOVES my country....
Nick - 18 years ago
Obama is an angry black man just like his Satanic reverend Right. How any white person could ever vote for such a person as obama, who regularly attended this bizarro world of a church is beyond me. Obama lived the American dream and he knows it. I thought he wasn't "black enough" and now all of a sudden he is. Why isn't his reverend teaching about unity and forgiveness in the pulpit instead of disunity and pure evil from the pit of hell. Osama... sorry, Obama should drop out and get the heck out of my country. Him or his reverend do not belong here.

If Obama wins the Democratic nomination, then David Duke still has a chance. Same message - different color. I'm disgusted by the rhetoric on both ends.
Pastor Tom Bias Jr - 18 years ago
This in my opinion is a direct reflection on the real convictions that Senator Obama really believes... and this Pastor and church should have their tax exempt status removed...even though there have been great strides in the racial divide in America, this can only do more to set us back...why do blacks continue to press the whites for racial bias...when over and over key black leaders promote racial bias...

All during these primaries, I have been praying that Americans, who have given Obama and Michelle the benefit of the doubt, would somehow find out the truth about their real motives for wanting to hold the most powerful job in America.
Hopefully, this time has come.
Thank you, Greta, for being one of the best on TV.
I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop if any of the newsmedia will bother to enlighten us about Rezco trial and the billionaire Iraqi connections.

To sit there and look into this mans eyes and hear him say he's never heard these type of coments while attending for 15 to 20 years? Are we all that gullible? If so, God Bless America, because we're really going to need it if the democrats continue to gaze lovingly into our eyes and lie.
Meliss - 18 years ago
I not surprised by what happen. You need remember it was just a few weeks that Michelle Obama is just now proud to be American. That makes you wonder if the were at some of the sermons. Minister do not just change there sermon just because of who is in the congregation. Many Minister preach on sermons for several weeks.
Teresa - 18 years ago
i can not believe what what was said and that obama did not seem to really take it all that seriously,i cant believe this was his first sermon about this...all i heard was whites are bad, nothing about what you should here in church!!obama is a fake man,but he can only climb out of so many holes.

I have been a Republican all my life. I was taken in by Obama. He had me feeling hope, and I really felt I would vote for him if he were the Dem. candidate in November.
After listening to that hatred filled militant black man that is his pastor, I
have to change my mind. There is absolutely NO CHANCE that Obamas
did not know this is where this guy was coming from.
The Pastor was whipping the black congregation up into a froth, setting
race relations back centuries. I am shocked and dismayed. Now, I don't
even know if I will vote at all, because I surely won't vote another Clinton
into the White House.
This is a sad day for America, and race relations within our country.

I find it highly unlikely that Senator Obama could attend the same church for so many years and not be fully aware of the hatred and bias toward America and the white race demonstrated by his preacher. Obama may not have been present to hear the exact words of his preacher that have been aired on TV recently, but the message cannot have been that different on many other occasions.
Jill - 18 years ago
I think the messages of seperatism and difference that Reverand Wright has preached will derail Obama's campaign. How can a country possibly move forward under Obama's leadership if his faith has grown from a house of worship that preaches focuses on racial intolerance?
Lori - 18 years ago
I don't believe a word of what Barack Obama said in the interview. For someone who gives such inspirational speechs, he sure had a hard time with this statement. He's done!
This demonstrates several things about Obama that have not been well known in the popular media. 1) He does not exercise god judgement in who he associates with. He has several campaign team members that are free lancing on a world stage. He has been financially inter-involved with an alleged campaign finance law breaker. And, now we see a long term association with a person that describes our country in the most extreme terms. 2) This demonstrates how little Obama has been vetted by the public and the media. He had virtually an uncontested campaign for US Senate in IL, was missing in action in many votes in the Illinois Senate and has not been effectively examined by the media or his own voters. We all would welcome a new faces into the political process, but they must permit themselves, their views and their associations to be well understood before being entrusted with our freedom and the most powerful job in the world. We don't know who Barack Obama is. It is time to know.
sam - 18 years ago
This is typical American left speaking, this person in my opinion has shown no acceptable reason to be believed to have any type if theoligical acceptance by our maker. Using foul and vial language in front of children alone shows that this person is not right with his maker.
May we be blessed with Amercian's coming to the defense of our core values and lift up our maker and not condemn our neighbors - prior to voting someone of Barrack's beliefs to our Commander in Chief.
Julia - 18 years ago
For him to say that he would have left the church had he "heard this repeatedly" means that he HAS heard it. Obviously, this minister didn't just come up with this recently. I think he has no chance to win and I was voted for him in primary! That won't happen again.
Heather - 18 years ago
This is such a BIG deal...thank God that Fox is covering it-as the mainstream media is ignoring it. I agree with Jim (bird of a feather)...We teach our children about preception and that if they hang around with kids that make bad choices-they will be considered guilty by association-this goes for adults too. Also-if he wasn't "buying" what Rev Wright was selling-he could have always gone to another church-but he has been there for 20 years! Add this to Michelle Obama's "odd" remarks about her "pride" in the country-and it really leads one to question. I am afraid that this controversy could set race relations in this country back 50 years...I am even more afraid that this man could get elected-hopefully this will open some peoples eyes...this is a BIG Deal!!!!!! Let's hope America wakes up in time!

Ok lets be real. Obama is in agreeance with this Reverend who is considered racist. Doesn't even make since. His own mother is white, his grandparents who raised him is white and he is half white. So get real. Talk to all the white people who are apart of that congregation. You right wingers will try anything. I am a white Pennsylvanian that will be pulling the lever for Barack Obama.

Give me a break!! All anyone has to do is look at the churches own web site to know what that church is all about. If Obama were president, he would see to it that all of our money is sent to Africa.Doesnt he realize that he is AMERICAN...not AFRICAN? Thats why there is no patriotism in that church, they consider themselves Africans, and preach it from the pulpit.
I believe it will be a big deal especially if someone is able to catch a glimpse of the senator in one of those clips. I think there is an excellant chance of that happening. There is a chance that someone in Hillary's group is looking right now.
Jo - 18 years ago
What is very important about watching the scenes of Obama's pastor is to watch the congregation's reaction to his comments. Their reaction is that of excitement and dancing and pumping their fists. From these actions it is obvious that this is not something that ocurrs only on a few occassions, but occurrs on a regular basis and is something that they are used to, and obviously, look forward to with jumping out of their seats excitement. So, for Obama to say in his response that these type of comments did not occur on a regular basis or he would have left that 'church' is obviously not true. This type of sermon was expected, welcomed, and praised in that 'church'.
hihiolani carrick - 18 years ago
I am struck by the audience cheers of agreement with the preacher and that my support of affirmative action to speed the process of racial equality in America has earned me the hatred of black Americans. I fear that this display of black Americans toward those who aren't black will throw us back 50 years.
Dan Sikes - 18 years ago
A person's church is a reflection of a person's value. A church's pastor is the leader that supposedly leads by example. If Senator Obama does not have the judgment to understand what kind of assiciation he belongs to and who are the leaders, how can his judgment be trusted anywhere else?
Virgilio Cabilin - 18 years ago
How can Obama expect us to believe that he did/does not know the feelings and opinions of the preacher in the church he has been a member of for so long as well as a family friend. Regardless of whether or not Obama "heard" the comments said by Mr. Wright, there can be no mistake that he and his wife knew of the feelings he espouses about America. And for him to remain a member of the church speaks volumes about how he truly feels.
Sue Bigsby - 18 years ago
Barack Obama's pathetic interview performance was almost as damning as the footage of his pastor's tirades. This is outrageous. There was obviously an OH SH*% moment this afternoon in the Obama camp. What you see is what you get -- WATCH CAREFULLY! Hitler was charasmatic as hell, too!

If I closed my eyes, it could have been a radical muslim chanting the reteric instead of an spiritual advisor to who might be the next president of the United States of America. I believe this will be the end of Mr. Obama. His explanation was an insult. Does he really expect us to believe he did not know the ramblings of this anti American. I think he has rightfully lost the white vote. Citizens who were willing to entrust and accept an African American for President, will now be turned off and afraid.

Greta, Senator Obama said that he took the Rev. Mr. Wright's recorded sermons with him when he went to Harvard. With so many of these hateful, hurtful things Wright said now coming out, are we to believe that he was not saying them back then? The bio on Wright says that he is the son of a Baptist minister but he could not find a chuch because of his radical views on black power until he was offered a church of less than 100 members, Trinity.
If his rhetoric was known then, are we now to believe that he kept it to himself until recently and Obama was totally in the dark about this?
I think not.
Neil - Attorney at Law - 18 years ago
C'mon Greta -- Obama by his own admission frequently attended Pastor Wright's church and either knew or should have known of his extremist diatribes. Obama's statements now are nothing more than political cover. If the Democrats are smart, they'll nominate Clinton who is the only candidate that can defeat McCain.

Obama and Bill should go to lying school together! To say he did not know the preacher was spouting this Un-American trash is an absolute lie! He better hope he did not put a check into the plate on the days he spoke this garbage.
I was going to vote for Sen Obama if he got the democratic nomination. After watching the Fox news I am going all the way with Mrs Clinton. There is no way I would want to see Obama get the nomination after being a menber of that church since l992.

C'mon everyone! BHO is a tool of the far left and this is how they view America! What amazes me is that people actually believe this is THE GUY to bring America together. How???? With friends like Rev. Wright and the former head of the Weather Underground, I'm just curious as to why people think he can do this!
Martin R - 18 years ago
i wonder if obama and his wife sat in that black church while the rest of those people shouted, clapped raise their hands danced and jumped the pews, i guess they just set back and folded their arms in disagreement of his hate filled messages. Much in the same way the far left talks and the way Farakan speaks while Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton agrees with this hate speech.
If this had been a white Man, How dreadful the consequences would be, especially with the ACLU jumping into get a government lawsuit. Pathetically Sad for America. I hope America can see through this net of Obama.

I believe that both senators Obama and Clinton are allowing the media to place harm on their campaigns trying to hold them accountable for others people's statements. I Think that both Obama and Clinton need to stop apologizing for things they didnt do and focus on this campaign cause for what they dont feed into you all will have less to talk about on the news. Darlene Woods - 18 years ago
Hi Greta;
Wow! If a white preacher would have stood up in the pulpit and said even 1/2 the things this man said, it would been bye-bye to their non-profit status. Also, the charge of racism would have been immediate and the ACLU would have been all over their church.
By the way, if we cannot advertise and run a pageant called, "Miss White Pageant" why can the black's have "Miss Black Pageant?" When I commented on this happening in Ardmore, OK my comments were blocked by the Ardmoreite.com crew. You see, the blacks have free speech, but we don't. I respect all races, but I don't go around slamming them. Why should we be their punching bags and have no right to defend our honor?
I truly believe that we are ALL created equal. There is not one person that has a higher value on their life than the life of another color; whether that be white, black, hispanic...whatever....we are all equals and should respect each other as such.

Sen. Obama is totally disengenuous. He and his wife not only continued to attend the church but took their children there is hear that horrendous filth. I could almost believe that the Black Panthers are back. As a mother, I would and have left churches based upon what I percieved to be covert racism. Imagine allowing one's children to know of those disgusting beliefs!
Laura - 18 years ago
This is racism and hate preaching. It's on their church website that they only pledge allegiance to the African flag. This alone show Obama's anti american support. Obama has to support this hate preaching or he wouldn't have stayed there 18 years and been such close friends with this preacher. He knows what's going on there.
He's not eligible for President of the United States.
Coupled with his wife's comments, this is huge! It's frightening to think that Obama might be our next president!
Chris - 18 years ago

I am appalled that this country can't see what is going on around us with Obama. Back when this country's reputation meant something and families meant something, Obama would have been arrested for treason by just associating himself with these people. They hung a woman when A. Lincoln was assinated just for letting a group of men talk in her boarding house. If you ask me, we need to go back to those days when AMERICA meant something to Americans and the rest of the world. No wonder they call us "The Great Satan". This is the scariest election ever and we need to wake up.
victor reyes - 18 years ago
I think this is serious for Obama. Although he may not have heard these comments at church, he must have been exposed to this while being mentored for twenty years. Everyone is titled to their opinions, as his pastor is. Perhaps Obama only believes a very small part of these statements. But even believing some of what his pastor says makes me question his ability to guide this country without having some kind of influence from this person. I like Obama. Although Americas motives may not be the purest at all times, but hey you could be living under a Saddam.
I am a pastor as well. I believe Jeremiah Wright's comments are not only racist and anti-American, but I believe them to be anti-Christian as well. How this man can call himself a voice for God is beyond me. And the idea that Barack Obama claims he has been a member of this church, and under this pastor, for 20 years and didn't know of his anti-American, racist views is nothing short of a farce. I denounce both of these men as credible and seriously question their judgement and integrity.
I will be stunned if blacks and whites continue to vote for Obama
If elected president Iwonder what his cabinet would look like? That is worrisome

The interviewer let it slide by when asked about whether Obama was present and heard the statements from his pastor. He said that he was never present when MOST of those statements were made. I had heard previously about the church's affiliations but disregarded it because I like Obama. He has no business running this country with his anti-America beliefs. I would rather have Hilary in office than Obama after hearing all of his "associations". The comments by his 20 year long time friend and Pastor made me want to vomit. I don't care what he has to say...three strikes let's hope he's out! I will not vote for him! PERIOD!!!! Why not get Bin Laden in here to run the country, then the chickens would really have come to roost. Makes me sick!!!!! Lincoln was right we will be destroyed "from within".

How come you are ignoring the inflammatory comments of Rod Parsley (John McCain's spiritual advisor) and Pastor Hagey?? And where was the outrage when Rev. You cannot talk about Obama's Pastor without talking about these equally outrageous "ministers" of the Gospel.

I find it hard to believe that Sen Obama who has been attending this church for in excess of 20 yrs, has never been there for these horrible anti-American "sermons" and he is trying to let the American people believe he never knew of these comments! Obama considers this pastor his mentor, spiritual advisor, and a spiritual advisor for his campaign, so who are we to believe he does not think this way if he holds this guy in such a high stature in his life to marry him, and to baptize his children! Wake up America, there is alot of questions about this guy!
I saw the Interview with Obama...he is a liar and a bigot
He is secretive and sneaky
His campaign is dead I will campaign against him till my shoes wear out.
How can he think he can get past this one is news to me
Down with Racism, down with treasonists, long live a free and fair America
We can't afford this bigot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Political leaders should not be held accountable for all the view points of their supporters.
However, if they are directly related or members in good standing in the church or the association they are in affect showing their support of the association or preacher.
Senator Obama has been a member in good standing for 20 years at Rev. Wright's church, I believe that Obama's true nature and attitude about "White" America has and is being revealed. I also believe that this reveals why Obama will not wear an American Flag on his lapel or show proper allegiance to the flag when the national anthem has been played. America better wake up and notice the wolves tail sticking out of the sheep's garments.
Obama should strongly condemn the attitude and actions of his pastor and he needs to put the "American" flag on his lapel. After all this press I am sure "White" America is a "mean country".
I would like to know of Senator Oboma's position on "White" America and if he is in any way in agreement with Rev. Wright's Anti-America hate filled religion.
Obama should resign from the senate and the presidential campaign.

This man has scared me for some time, now I'm terrified he may be elected! He has been affiliated to this man for a long time and his wife's comments make sense now. Gotta run not walk to give Ms Clinton a donation.
Obama’s a terrorist this man embraces a man that preaches hate sounds more like a devil to me and they should both be shot and ran outta town
Surely Obama isn't going to further insult our intelligence by trying to persuade us that in twenty years he didn't have this guy figured out. This association only further proves this guy is a left-wing madman.
By: Tawny Ameling | Mar 14, 22:16
I think that Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr has every right to speak like that. As a white american young adult I feel the same as he does. It has nothing to do with race or religion or anything like that. I hate what America has become. I love the ideal America Barack could provide. This will not effect my vote at all!!!
________________________________________
Example of a useful idiot above!
I not surprised by what happen. You need remember it was just a few weeks that Michelle Obama is just now proud to be American. That makes you wonder if the were at some of the sermons. Minister do not just change there sermon just because of who is in the congregation. Many Minister preach on sermons for several weeks.
i can not believe what what was said and that obama did not seem to really take it all that seriously,i cant believe this was his first sermon about this...all i heard was whites are bad, nothing about what you should here in church!!obama is a fake man,but he can only climb out of so many holes.
Kathy
I find it highly unlikely that Senator Obama could attend the same church for so many years and not be fully aware of the hatred and bias toward America and the white race demonstrated by his preacher. Obama may not have been present to hear the exact words of his preacher that have been aired on TV recently, but the message cannot have been that different on many other occasions.
I think the messages of seperatism and difference that Reverand Wright has preached will derail Obama's campaign. How can a country possibly move forward under Obama's leadership if his faith has grown from a house of worship that preaches focuses on racial intolerance?
I don't believe a word of what Barack Obama said in the interview. For someone who gives such inspirational speechs, he sure had a hard time with this statement. He's done!
Time to go BHO. You are in over your head.
For him to say that he would have left the church had he "heard this repeatedly" means that he HAS heard it. Obviously, this minister didn't just come up with this recently. I think he has no chance to win and I was voted for him in primary! That won't happen again.
Stick a fork in O'bama...he done!
Yes We Can
He needs to drop out. With the comments from his wife and now this? He's done.
He has lost my vote. I do not belive Barack.
Madam president here we come.
The Rev Wright video clips remind me of the old Hitler film clips, both
men trying to fire up their audiences with such enthusiastic hatred.
I am struck by the audience cheers of agreement with the preacher and that my support of affirmative action to speed the process of racial equality in America has earned me the hatred of black Americans. I fear that this display of black Americans toward those who aren't black will throw us back 50 years.
A person's church is a reflection of a person's value. A church's pastor is the leader that supposedly leads by example. If Senator Obama does not have the judgment to understand what kind of assiciation he belongs to and who are the leaders, how can his judgment be trusted anywhere else?
How can Obama expect us to believe that he did/does not know the feelings and opinions of the preacher in the church he has been a member of for so long as well as a family friend. Regardless of whether or not Obama "heard" the comments said by Mr. Wright, there can be no mistake that he and his wife knew of the feelings he espouses about America. And for him to remain a member of the church speaks volumes about how he truly feels.
This will cost Obama his run for the presidency.
Obama and Bill should go to lying school together! To say he did not know the preacher was spouting this Un-American trash is an absolute lie! He better hope he did not put a check into the plate on the days he spoke this garbage.
this is all very disturbing!!!!!
I was going to vote for Sen Obama if he got the democratic nomination. After watching the Fox news I am going all the way with Mrs Clinton. There is no way I would want to see Obama get the nomination after being a menber of that church since l992.
Obama is the Manchurian candidate!
There is no way his pastor had this strong, vehement attitude and he was obvlivious to it after 20 years! If he is that naive he should not be president, if he's being dishonest he should not be president. Either way, he's FRIED!
Sooner or later your true colors will show, as water will always seek it's level.
Obama president of the US? He is HIDING WAY TOO MUCH....! And he is just worried about Hillary publishing her financial records?!? He has been hiding his pastor, hiding his faith (muslim), covering his wifes mouth as not to piss off too many Americans. Would meet with the axis of evil leaders?!?
NO FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the matter with this country? This is the top democratic canidate? Wow...we are in a world of $*%T.
C'mon everyone! BHO is a tool of the far left and this is how they view America! What amazes me is that people actually believe this is THE GUY to bring America together. How???? With friends like Rev. Wright and the former head of the Weather Underground, I'm just curious as to why people think he can do this!
i wonder if obama and his wife sat in that black church while the rest of those people shouted, clapped raise their hands danced and jumped the pews, i guess they just set back and folded their arms in disagreement of his hate filled messages.
Obama has been caught. This explains why he won't wear an American flag pin on his lapel.
My bullschitte indicators are off the charts on this one! Obama is not being truthful about what he knew about his pastor of 20 years!
If this does not break the hearts of many americans what will? this guy has lied to all of his young supporters . You do not sit under a pastor for twenty years and not put on his mantel . I know I can't vote for him this is a big deal breaker . Did the Democratic leadership know of this they should all be voted out and I am a life time Democrat of 35 years or should I say was.
The whole thing scares me, I am not an Obama supporter but after seeing his preacher saying all of those horrible things it really scares me to think that maybe the people of our country are being fooled by him.
To me this preacher is as racist as the people he is calling racist and if he hates our country so bad why doesn't he move to Iraq and see how he would like it there!
Sen.McCain's clergy did not 'GOD Dam America'. He preached against legalizing Sodomy. NOT Homosexuality! Sodomy - try to sodomize me or mine and I'll show you some southern Justice
he is lying thru his nose, he wishes now that he would have stayed Muslim in the public eye. 20 years and he never heard of anything that we have seen?
where has he been? and he wants to be President? sounds like pathological liar like Bill Clinton was. he will look you in th eye and he makes you believe anything you want to hear. by the way Hillary is no better.
I and my spouse like them both so we split our vote. Its not their fault for what others say Obama wasnt in the church, and Hillary wasnt on stage. Get over it give us some real news.
Obama is done. Only thing left is the bleeding. Enjoy the free ride now Hillary (oh man 20 years of Clintons and Bushs and now we have a potential for 8 more). Why can't they just go away!
People should choose their friends (and pastors) carefully. It is what it is.
This is another mess for the Senator. I am a Republican but I take no joy in this any more than I did over the "political suicide" of Governor Spitzer.
I am reminded however of an old quote
You shall know the character orf a man by the company he keeps.
Tony Resco
William Ayres
Pastor Wright (Wrong)
Indirectly Louis Farakhan
What more do I need to know about him...his party affiliation is irrelevant. He is not qualified to the President of the United States. It does however make me sad.
Skip
Brandon, this is a major issue...quit your rhetoric and see the reality of the seriousness of this situation.
No one is as innocent as Obama claims to be and few are as hateful as his pastor. How could any American vote for Obama. Amen.
If anyone could believe that he has never heard any of the comments made by this preacher, than he is either lying about his attendance, or just covering his true belief. He is a racist or he would not belong to this preacher's church.
I think that Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jr has every right to speak like that. As a white american young adult I feel the same as he does. It has nothing to do with race or religion or anything like that. I hate what America has become. I love the ideal America Barack could provide. This will not effect my vote at all!!!
Leave Obama and his wife alone. Tell the truth racist white america!
Slavery was mean and cruel!
Dropping the Nuclear bomb was wrong!
Admit your mistakes, THIS IS 2008. STOP HATING THE INTELLIGENT BLACK
MAN FOR MAKING YOU FACE THE TRUTH! MAN UP RACIST AMERICA! MANUP!
**IF THIS ENDS OBAMA's PRESIDENTIAL CHANCE. THAN AGAIN YOU WILL HAVE SHOWN YOUR TRUE RACIST COLOR!! I WILL STILL PRAY FOR YOU1 SINCE YOUR ARROGANCE PREVENTS YOU FROM TELLING THE TRUTH!!!
I am a registered Republican, and had considered voting for Obama, but no longer will do that. His response to questions regarding this subject are not enough to convince me that he did not know of this minister's views. 20 years and he did not know this? I think not.
Hi Greta;
Darlene Woods
What this man says from the pulpit is not remotely related to Christianity. It is pure, twisted hatred.
How obsurd! Going to a church for 20 years and now just realizing your pastor/mentor is racist. Thank God we discovered this information before the election and not after. There should not be no black or white, we are all equal. One America!!!
IT DOES NOT SUPRISE ME...HE IS GOING ALONG WITH HIS CAMPAIGNE SLOGAN FOR CHANGE AND HE IS AS THE STORY COMES OUT ...HE IS CHANGING HIS VIEWS AS HE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN THIS CRASY PASTORS COMMENTS......DOES HE REALY THINK THAT WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CAN BELIEVE THAT HE WAS NOT PRESENT FOR EVEN ONE OF THOSE SPEECHES CONDEMING AMERICA....OBAMA wake up we are not that stupid..good luck you will realy need it now!!!!! change your good at it !!!
No one is as innocent as Obama claims to be and few are as hateful as his pastor. How could any American vote for Obama. Amen.
Obama has known this man for 20 years, has sat and listened to this man's sermons for at least 15 years, and yet, he claims not to have known about Jeremiah Wright's racist beliefs? Sorry, but that just doesn't seem credible to me.
Did the pastor always check to see if Obama was in attendance before he spouted this racist diatribe? Please.
I'm nearly 50 years old & have seen some of the stupidest things in the world occur due to poor leadership in the white house. How are we going to make it better by allowing a Muslim into the presidency? I can't believe it's gone this far! Wake up Americans!!! Let's get out heads out of the sand!!!
Barak Obama is a disgrace to this Country and he should be stripped of his citizenship. We need people to whom we can look up to. Leaders who can inspire us NOT divide us. Him and his wife have no place among us not to mention leading this GREAT Country back on its rightful place as the shining light in a world who is turning darker by the day!
The interviewer let it slide by when asked about whether Obama was present and heard the statements from his pastor. He said that he was never present when MOST of those statements were made. I want to know what statements he actually did hear, and then continued to be a close friend and supporter of Dr. Wright.
Jerimiah Wright is a racist of the highest caliber.
If you want to know who a person is then look at his friends. I think that says it all.
Time to drop out or the Democrats don't stand a chance
It's no question to me now that the American People will overwhelmingly vote for Senator McCaine, who is a decorated war hero with decades of years of experience in the Senate over a 40 something Senator with less experience and seeminly counts his friends and spiritual advisers on the far left.
Gerry Fallwell and Pat Robinson blamed America for 9/11??? I am seeing a double standard here. You cannot talk about Obama's Pastor without talking about these equally outrageous "ministers" of the Gospel.
I have been giving thought to consider Obama for President; however, after viewing his affliliation with Wright, no way. In fact, Obama wiggled too much when he answered some of the questions which gave the impression he was not telling the truth.
OBAMA OBVISOUSLY AGREES WITH THIS PREACHER. I BELIEVE BEING A BLACK MAN IN A WHITE MAN'S WORLD IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT NO MATTTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE. IT HAS BEEN HARD FOR THE BLACK MAN AND WOMAN BUT MOSTLY FOR THE BLACK MAN. THERE COULD HOWEVER BE A UNDERLINING AGENDA THAT OBAMA HAS AND WE AMERICANS NEED TO REFLECT ON THIS. WHAT DICISIONS WILL HE BE MAKING FOR THE COUNTRY? IS THIS PREACHER GOING TO HAVE A GREAT IMPACT. AFTER ALL HE DID NAME HIS BOOK AMONG OTHER THINGS.
Finally we are learning more about the REAL BO. Better to learn now, before it's too late. Has anyone ever heard BO say "God bless America" at the end of his speeches??
