Greta,
In all my years of attending Christian Churches I have never heard any of my Pastors speak such hatred about any person, the only thing I have ever heard and learned was about Jesus Christ and the Father God, so when I see people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barracks Pastor they never speak about the Lord or Jesus all they speak about is race relations and how terrible they are, I think if they would just preach the word of God then I think this world would be a much better place. It really bothers me that these men claim to be men of God, God would never speak as they do, and the congregation is just as guilty, disgusting.

Greta,
what do we expect, this has been going on for years. everytime the sun comes up blacks think everyone owes them something. i am 58 and didn't have one thing to do with slavery but I am expected to pay for it. it just makes me sick to know that we have so many sick white people out there that are voting for this guy. did he know his preacher said these things? give me a break.

conservative blog. Odds are that my comment will
not be posted.
I am offended as a white person. In my church we would never talk like that about people in other races. It is shocking to hear what this reverend has to say. He sounds very ignorant and relates everything to his race. The people standing up and clapping for him at the church need to focus on helping others, of any race, and not dwellling on their color.

Hello,
Everyone that already voted for Obama should email their states Congressman to change and vote for Hillary. Don't wait it might be to late.
Good Luck for all of us and God Bless.
Thank you,

I don't believe Barrack Obama has never heard this pastor's views as we heard them today. He appears to me to be very close to this pastor and I wasn't very satisfied with his answers to Major Garrett's questions. They did not seem to be answered with sincerity and Sen. Obama did not seem to be appalled by the pastors comments.

You know it's kinda funny how discrimination has went from mainly white against black to black against white. If a white Pastor said the things this Black Bigot spewed for his pulpit he would be ran out of America. Hussein will never get my vote and i hope the Christian community will wake up and see that he is a Sheep in Wolves clothes.

Wake up people. Obama knew when the REV. went to Libya with the rebel to visit Kadafi. This is insans. I am so tired of the crying and moaning by blacks, they get everything they want, Commit most of the crimes, then cry it is because I am black. All is to far gone to fix, so why try. Make three lists of candidates beliefs, their experience, their service to this country, all of the mistakes, [ie.Whitwater..Foster]EVERYTHING beliefs and hatreds and don't put any identifying factors ie.pictures, and see who comes out on top. This makes me so upset I get physically ill. Wake up people.

To say that he does not agree with his pastor is one thing but to outright deny ever hearing this rhetoric in the 20 years of their relationship is just a bold face lie. Who does he think he is fooling? Come on America we can do much better then BHO-

If Obama had made these statements himself it could be politically damaging. He has stated that he would have left the church if he continually heard these comments. He is the best democratic candidate for the presidency.
Where are the attacks on McCain? Why is it always on Obama? If the democrats don't come up with a better strategy than attacking each other, they may loose the presidential seat.
Preston - 18 years ago
What does this have to do with his ability or qualifications to be President of this country? The media has been looking for an opportunity to try and find fault with Obama. Now they are trying to use words said by someone else against him. This is a shameful racist ploy by the media to try to stop the phenominal momentum of the Obama campaign. I find it quite coincidental that these videos have surfaced at this very moment when the primary race is so close. Some of these comments were made years ago. Why make a big deal of them now? Is Obama responsible for every word out of the mouths of every person he associates with? Pastor Wright's comments may have been offensive to some, but in the eyes of many Americans, they are 100% true. I am not at all offended by them.
Christine - 18 years ago
Barack Hussein Obama has just exposed his soul for ALL to see and it is a very dark place. We are all privledged to live in this great country and it is apparent that this is not the belief of Barack Hussein Obama and his wife, Michelle. Read Michelle Obama's inflammatory views from her college papers and reference her statement while campaigning for her husband and you will see these individuals for who they "really" are! "if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...well it's a duck! "Bird's of a feather flock together"! Cliches but, true!
Terry - 18 years ago
This man has shown good character for years. Those around him speak highly of his integrity. Everyone in our lives, friends and relatives, make comments that we don't necessarily agree with. If we distanced ourselves from everyone that has a different opinion than we do, we would certainly be in complete isolation eventually. Freedom of thought and speech is becoming more and more compromised by the minute.
In my opinion, this is truly a smear campaign.
Kathy - 18 years ago
Obama must think the public is mostly idiots, if he expects to be believed when he says that he was unaware of the preacher's racist, hate filled beliefs. You can not possibly attend a church for 20 years, where the same preacher is there all that time, without hearing a broad span of his different sermons. And the ones we are seeing now are not isolated ones, they were being SOLD by the church as examples of his message. And they do not contain just an isolated 'bad remark' or two. They are full of hate, full of bitterness, and full of lies about history, all aimed at stirring anger against whites in America. Anyone who can sit there and listen to those rants should not be elected to lead this nation.
nancy - 18 years ago
In America racism is alive and well! Obama and his Pastor are leading the way to 'right the wrongs' of American History by hypocritically repeating what they say they "hate." The black hatred toward whites is absolutely unbelievable. Talk about double standards? This is outrageous and evoks extreme anger from those who don't see color only Americans! This behavior is completely hypicritical. There's nothing intellectual about this.... This is anti-American, anti-white, anti-prosperity, anti-business, anti-Christian,.... DO we really want a PRESIDENT who associates with those who appear to HATE America and her people???! Is this our new American reality, if so, we really have decayed from the inside out. The terrorists will have gotten what they so badly wish to have; an internal American meltdown. In politics, your lifeline is your credibility. Obama has completely lost his CREDIBILITY with this..... how sad....
James A. Hill - 18 years ago
This is unbelievable that a parishioner would have been a member for twenty years and not have known about this racist's message. These anti-american statements and the spewing of hatred from a pulpit are the most aggregious I have ever heard. Truly, these are sad times when this type hatred is shouted from a supposed "Man of God."
Kyle - 18 years ago
I think we need to look at the cold hard facts here. Obama has denounced the comments and condemned them. He has said that he will not repudiate the man. I should think that his supporters should not hold that against him. His supporters should take him at his word, if we are truly his supporters. All three candidates have people who have made outlandish statements. McCain and his association with Rod Parsley and John Hagee, Hillary Clinton and her association with Geraldine Ferraro and Obama with Pastor Wright. We need to get back to the issues at hand and decide which candidate will be best to handle them. I will still support Obama or Clinton, whoever the nominee is, because at the end of the day its not about what his pastor's views are, it is about whether or not I can pay for college, healthcare and get a job. That is what should be most important to the American people.
Ben and sandra Moncrief - 18 years ago
Obama did know what the rev.stood for. He ( Obama ) feels the same way as the Rev Wright. No we really should not use the word Rev. I think his comments are really out there. He is practicing sedition. I thank Mr. Wright has a mental illness. Iwould vote for Hillary just to keep Obama from getting the office. I do not vote that party. I really enjoy your show we watch every night.
Thank you for reportinh these comments.

After 20 years of knowing this "uncle"-like pastor, how could Obama listen to this pastor's unbelievably extreme rhetoric, and not tacitly approve of it. Obama is finished as far as I'm concerned. Obama's explanation is ridiculously deceptive.

If Billy Graham's Anti-Semitic comments did not stop Bill Clinton from using Graham as a spiritual guide, what is the difference? Priests who are pediphiles should not stop Catholics from running for office. Oh McCains spiritual advisor.....The Catholic church is a whore.
Michelle Obama can say she's only now proud to be an American...no she said REALLY proud, but the media keeps leaving REALLY out. There is a difference between proud and really proud. How many innocent civilians were killed in Japan?

I am so upset. I saw the "reverend and Shawn "discuss" religion. I am so glad that it is out now. I just wish that all of the other channels would give the same time to it. This is something that all Americans should be aware of it. It is hard to believe that such hate is being spread in America, let alone from inside a church. This is going to continue to be a most unusual election. If we ever needed God to protect us and our country, it is now.

I think that everyone should be accountale for themselves! It is unfortunate that this pastor spoke in a way that could potentially hurt such a strong and inspirational campign but lets look at both candidates... Just as Hilary said Ferraro's comments didn't reflect her views, beliefs etc. Its the same with Obama and his Pastor. I don't believe Hilary dropped Ferraro as one of her financial backers for the hateful message she stated, and as with Obama- why is he being given the 3rd degree on whether or not he will leave the church, etc. The man (Obama) said with NO hesitation that he doesn't condone what was being said. I guess when you've done as well as he has among all other presidential candidates in history- drama is bound to arise and be drawn out .... OBAMA FOR AMERICA!!!! Yes, we Can!!!

I saw this on the news tonight for the first time and I am shocked! My opinion is pretty much that of everyone else on here tonight! The rantings of this pastor-certainly over many times---is racism in reverse!
But, what bothered me most--GD America!!!! This is the religious leader of someone wanting to lead America-----exactly where does he plan to lead us!!!
I don't care how much he denies he never heard this before-this preacher's whole demeanor is shameful-the whole congreation up shouting and yelping!!!
I'm sure if my pastor got up oncce and yelled GD America-even if I wsadnt there-the word would spread like wildfitre and he'd los ethe who,e congreation
How could I ever vote for a member of this church!!! Wake up America-before we have a leader that's been taught values from this horrible man!

I am 63 years old, have always been patriotic, proud of our flag and what it stands for and proud to be an American. I am appalled at what I heard supposedly coming from a " minister ". God help us all if this man , who by description in the Bible, is the shepherd of Barak Obama. I have been to the church website, and that disturbed me very much. This has gone far beyond being disturbed. I am a Christian, and proud of it. However, just being an " American " is enough to cause me to wonder what in the world our country is coming to. This is " America " but the propaganda that is being " preached " by Jeremiah Wright has no place in any church. It sounds more like an " extremist hate group'. If this man is a shepherd guiding his flock, we don't need one of his flock running for President of this United States of America. I have enough problem with the fact that Obama doesn't stand at attention or respect at the National Anthem or the Pledge of Allegiance. Please , please , wake up America, or we won't have an America.

Obama is not very bright. He could not tell Christian Theology from a frog. This pastor has spoke at seminaries that are so liberal, true born again Christian have written off years ago. Jesus said they draw to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Funny how these black churches only focus on blacks but the white churches focus on all races, nations, etc... OBAMA is a liar or is too naive to be president or have any leadership position. He had over 800 Sundays to hear this Reverand spout his liberation theology. Jesus daid who He sets free, he will be free indeed. They just don't get it. Could you imagine someone that is so disconected from reality be the president? But as a Muslim he can lie all he wants because this is acceptable.
Danny Doty - 18 years ago
I have never heard a pastor speak like this. If you want to see and hear racism this is it. I have never heard such racism. This black pastor cannot talk about white racism all he has to do is look in the mirror or buy his own sermon tapes. Obama has listened to this for 20 years, so it has to have some effect on him.

Greta - We need this story to keep burning into the minds of "good hearted Americans" - Black or White. This person - Barak - has been catapulted into the stratosphere without having been vetted because of his lack of experience. Finally, the real story about his life is starting to come out. First we hear his wife complain about finally being proud of this country - the country that has provided to her the opportunity to grow and improve her place in society - while being FREE! Now we see what kind of trash this so-called theologian has been spouting off about - at church! I don't care what people say this so-called Reverend has with regard to his religious background - his expertise at scriptures - my God - this guy makes Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson look like choir boys. The people of this country better understand that you don't voluntarily attend a church for 20 years - you don't put your spiritural life in the hands of a preacher for this long - and not be influenced by him. WAKE UP America - Barak is an empty suit - he has no credentials to become our Commander in Chief and his supposed ability to speak so well cannot make him a person of valor - of integrity - or even a person of subsatnce. Electing this person to the White House will be one of the biggest mistakes this country has ever made!

Rev. Jeremiah Wright's videos depicted inciteful, racist, anti-White and American tones. How could a smart Sen. like O'Bama miss that--even if if he missed one church service in 20 years? And he wants to be president? Oh, come on! Surely, he knows and loves his Uncle. So what are the American people to think of him now?
anne nelson - 18 years ago
This is FATAL for Obama...he should have separated himself from that nutcase preacher many years ago. No wonder Obama's wife has such a negative opinion of America...even though they live in a $1.6 million home with wine cellar, etc. and attended the best educational institutions in the country! What else do they want????????????!!!
Edna P M - 18 years ago
OBAMA can't plead ignorance.
He was slow to react. He feebly said he was in the senate yesterday and voting and didn't know about this controversy.
You can't attend a racist church like that for 20 years. He didn't denounce the church when they supported Farrakhan! I now believe that OBAMA is a MUSLIM -- and they will lie and do anything to win. He will not make it any further. He is DONE! HE IS TOAST!
No wonder he talks so much about hope! He attends a HATE AMERICA church -- and his pastor swears, and says ridiculous things about 9/11 and the government and HIV!
If OBAMA didn't know -- then he wouldn't know what was going on while he is president. He isn't qualified to be president if he can get by with "I wasn't aware of that.!" The American people won't buy such lame excuses. EPM
Christine - 18 years ago
Sen. Obama's affiliation with Trinity Church of Christ and Rev. Wright, as well as his financial support of this organization speaks volumes. Michelle Obama's comments coupled with the luke warm explanations of Sen. Obama to Major Garret's questions demonstrate the "blame America first" doctrine of the uber-left. It is apparent now why there was so little substance in Obama's oratory earlier in this campaign. We now know what is behind Obama's captivating rhetoric. Racism is still racism no matter who is proclaiming it and it remains as completely ugly from black America as it has from white America.
Marianne - 18 years ago
How is possible he didn't know his pastor for 20 years way of thinking? Now I understand were Michelle Obama's words come from- "For the first time in my adult life I'm proud of my country. Or when she said that "americans are mean, cinical and with broken souls." Put both things together and you will get the answer.
Obama's answer was very weak and it was obvious he was in a hard spot. He is not running a campaign but a movement inspired by his church so it is very difficult for him to speak strongly about his pastor.
In the other hand, I'm ashamed of the way the press is covering all this up

Hi Greta,
To think Obama may still have a chance is a travesty. I find it very sad, pathetic and intolerable that us Great American's must listen to anti-hate speeches from a Pastor, period! This is who and what Obama looks up to!!!!!!!!!!
concerned voter - 18 years ago
this is very serious. People better be looking at these people (Barack, Michelle, the reverend, etc. It's scary to hear they believe one can live in this country 50 years and the first time they are proud of this country was three weeks ago. And not "God bless America," but God damned America. why are voters not paying attention. They are all racists.
Rebecca - 18 years ago
He wasn't aware of his pastor's world views over a period of 20 years? Someone with whom he was apparently very close to aside from his role as pastor? He's being just a tad disingenuous, and if he has no compunction about lying now, he absolutely won't have any heartburn about it as President. He's nothing but an empty suit anyway. What hubris to think he should be running the country. He's smug and arrogant, and it's good this came out if it'll keep the ignorant voting population from making this dip President.

So much anger & hatred spewing from this pastor......and Obama claims he never heard any of it?
I was hoping Obama would win the nomination...up until now....... I cannot trust a candidate who's mentor for 20 years is a so called pastor who uses his pulpit to spread (unbiblical) hatred & divisiveness.
I believe this will be a fatal blow to Obama!
Michelle Hicks - 18 years ago
This should be by far the last thing we focus on. What the pastor said was not hateful, but very true! It is not racism, but the simple act of stating and restating the truth. This is a tatic fueled by racist to deter young voters and African Americans. Focus on the REAL issues. Who care what his pastor said, just be glad he even went to church. DOES HILARY GO TO CHURCH OR MCCAIN? WHAT DO THEY BELIEVE? Do either believe in a GOD? And the pastor did NOT say God damn America, he said God DAMNED America...listen people before you comment.
Bobby - 18 years ago
Love your show Greta. Maybe people at his rallies will quit fainting now. I don't believe he never heard any of these views his pastor has held. i think if they are as close as BHO says they are, he shares these views. To me it doesnt really matter about his uncle mentor friend, I don't like his ideas on how he is going to change this country....
Michael - 18 years ago
Wonder how long McCain would last if he had been friends with David Duke, for 20 years. And counted him as a friend, kind of an uncle, and spiritual advisor. I think McCain would be gone.
The good pastor took a powder, and hoped this wouldn't come back to bite Obama in the rear end. Now we're going to hear about how racist all of this is, anyone care to bet?
S.Harris - 18 years ago
Our great nation needs to realize the terrible words that were spoken by this pastor are words that Mr. Obama has heard for 20 years. They are inplanted int his mind and to have any association with this kind of treason is unthinkable. He will not have my vote. America wake up! Our country is not great because we tolorate this minister and Mr. Obama. It is great because we have had no tolorance of evil. The best thing Mr. Obama can do now is to step down from the nonimation and get himself a real pastor that preaches the word of God.

Bye Bye Barack, Hellooooooooooo Hillary. This is extremely dissapointing and very upsetting. I was a big fan of Senator Obama but this is inexcusable behavior and to say you "Never heard this" in 20 years is just a little unbelievable.

If I am Catholic and my priest molest a child, what does that have to do with me? According to your brainless thinking, I should be held responsible!
Mitt Romney is a Mormon; the Mormons did not allow Blacks to have the priesthood until 1978 and still today, the Mormons still consider the Blacks as descendants of Cain who killed his brother Abel hence not equal to other races. The Mormons even believe that the blackness of skin for Blacks is the mark of the curse of God on Cain .Should we hold Mitt Romney responsible for that and call him racist? Did Fox News, CNN, CBS etc talked about it?
Most slave owners and Indian Killers were Christians and many of them pastors and preachers. Should we hold every Christian responsible for that?
George Washington and many who signed the declaration of independence were slave owners, but they put in writing that all men are created equal. Should we reject all the good things that they have done and call all of them bad people?
Pat Robertson said that Sharon, the premier Minister of Israel was punished by a stroke from God because Sharon gave land to the Palestinians. Should we consider each born-again-Christian anti-Israel or should each be held responsible for what Pat Robertson said?
Heck, a pope condemned Galileo for saying that the earth rotates around the sun. Should the billions of Catholics stop going to church?
King Henry the VIII created the Church of England to divorce his wives and marry new ones and even killed many. According to some people way of thinking no one should be member of the Church of England. Go tell that to its millions of members!
I can go on and on...

I wonder how Barrack's mother feels? If I were Barrack, I don't know as I'd be very happy knowing how my pastor felt about white people. Theology is the study of God; is that all his pastor has to show for 30 years of service as a pastor and 'student' of theology? What God is he studying? How is it that 'Pastor' Wright's church can maintain it's tax exempt status while (mis) using the pulpit to diatribe about radical left wing politics? Barrack has attended here for 20 years or so? What does this say about his judgement?
Charlotte Ann Cannon - 18 years ago
Americans, wow, they were coming under his spell in droves because he was "inspirational". I wondered "what is wrong with the American people"? This man has no history, other than a few years in the senate. He was raised as an atheist and chose a church family that apparently spews hatred. There is no way that he wasn't aware of the church's position. With a pastor like that, I can understand better how the relationship between the races is getting worse, not better. The man preaches hatred. I have seen the chip that Mrs. Obama carries on her shoulder. Now I know where it came from. Birds of a feather flock together, and you are known by the company that you keep. Wake up America. There is no way I would vote for him.
Dave A. - 18 years ago
obama is a lunatic the way that he dances around the issue of rev. wright and expects us all to swallow whatever he says as being the truth. this man is a liar and probably does believe a fair amount of wright's racist diatribe. i wouldn't trust obama to be fair and on the level with americans regardless of their race and/or religion.
terri white - 18 years ago
I do not believe Obama is responsible for what Rev. Wright says. He has distanced himself from the man. Who dug this up? If they cannot get any dirt on Obama directly, they have to try to smear him in this manner. I believe the Clinton campaign is working overtime to come up with hese things to try to bring him down. He is leading and will win in the end and become a great president who will lead this country out of all its problems.
renee - 18 years ago
No one can dig up any dirt on Obama, so they had to dig up something about Mr. Wright. What Rev. Wright said is no different from what other Americans and Politicians have said about our country, especially since 911 and the Iraq war. I agree with one of the comments that Fox News should be boycotted, they are not fair and indeed are the racist, this includes you Greta. Fox can't deal with the way Obama has brought people of all races together, that's unfortunate. Why are you mixing Religion and Politics anyway. Obama has a clean record, let's look at what he has done, he is running for President, not Rev. Wright.

800 visits to church, this doesn't mean that you have to agree w/ 100% of the subjects talked about, if he only agreed with 75% of the topics, but like the people in general, that would keep me going to church. My best friend and my closest family member don't share the exact same beliefs, but that doesn't mean we can't be close.
Mark Ratcliffe - 18 years ago
If Obama thought for one minute that America would let this slide then this shows how arrogant he is. I've never sen so much hate spewed out toward America. At one time he had my vote, but not now.
Everyone has associates who are more then questionable, yes even McCain and especially the Clintons. If it is mudslinging that the American people want then Obama has the least to worry about compared to his current and future opposition for president. That said, if this is the type of stance that the media wants to take against Obama, what goes around comes around and Hillary and McCain will end off the dirtiest of all in the end. So this does not stand to hurt Obama's chances much at all.
I wish that American politics could learn to keep things to the issues and less to a politics of mud and fear. The rest of the world laughs at this type of petty politics that America plays. We laugh and then cry that the general ignorance of the American populace actually allows it to work in choosing their presidential leaders. Not to mention your history of electoral fraud via supreme court decisions. We all thought that America was the oldest and should be the best model of a mature democracy, yet again and again examples like this are paraded through the American media which sho how far America still has to come when compared to those who have established democracies much later.
America, the world is watching!

I find it very difficult to believe that this 'bright', 'smart' man could attend this church with this minister and no become aware of what he has been preaching all these years. I am 76 and in all my years I have never heard any 'American' preacher spew such vile comments about his 'supposed' country. This leave me to believe that Senator Obama has a severe credibility problem. I won't say he was lying but his response was certainly questionable.

How can we elect Senator Obama on the promise of change with his history? I feel strongly that Senator Obama does not have the American experience which would support the presidency of the United States. In both his childhood and under the tutelage of Rev Jeremiah Wright, Jr. I find he has none of the American experience which would I believe is necessary to be President of the United States.

How very, very sad. This pastor is so full of hate. Christianity is based on love and care for EVERYONE, not just white or black or rich or poor. I can't imagine any pastor in any Christian Church cursing our country from the pulpit. After listening to the two women on Bill O'Reilly, who consider themselves victims of slavery, and the white people in this country I am amazed at how hateful they were and I have to assume it is the influence of the Trinity pastor. I am white and I have many, many wonderful loving and kind black friends who I am sure are just horrified at all of this. How very, very sad.

I think this "pastor" is a horrible reflection upon Obama and his choice of where to worship. People are viewed in many ways and who you choose to associate with does reflect upon your character.

I find it hard to believe that MSNBC and CNN basically treat this as if it were not a big deal. This man is running for the presidency! His assosiations matter. The people that have influenced him for the past 20 years matter. His wifes comments clearly show the effect of Jeremiah Wright. It amazes me that Obama has the arrogence to NOT denounce his relationship with this man. This will be his undoing.

This is a SIGNIFICANT development. The fact that the news as well as all commentators that support BHO do not focus on FIXING this and rather defending will only build on this story. This story is beginning to shed light, like others in this blog have said, on BHO's background. Anyone who things this is NOT significant is lying to themselves and are only following the hype of BHO. Earlier on Hannity and Colmes, one commentator said, "This should not be the focus and stray away from the issues at hand." The PROBLEM with this is that THEY HAVE NOT TALKED about any issues! THIS is core problem with BHO as well as HC. If anyone has info that contradicts BHO on his position that "he has never heard any of these remarks" will bury him.
I personally CANNOT imagine NEVER hearing remarks in 20 years. My reason for this? When someone like Rev. Wright preaches with such passion in his hate, you can only assume that his has built up over the past 20 years, and to completely internalize this the entire time is IMPOSSIBLE.

Now I know why I have never trusted Obama. God help us if there are enough stupid people to elect him as our President.

I have always voted Republican until voting for Barack. I have been volunteering for his campaign and have traveled to different states. I have never seen at any time any racial campaigning on his behalf.
I am white female and I will still support Barack for President.
I would never vote for Hillary Clinton. I keep hearing about all of this experience and yet people in those countries dispute her credit.
I also know that Bill Clinton made a spectacle out of the White House.
The Clintons started the negative nasty campaigning and I for one will never support them ever.

come on does anyone believe that barak hussein obama did not agree with his minister of 20 years.I think if all the voters could vote now we would not be wondering who would be the democratic nominee.Hillary clinton just recieved all the super delegates she needed

GOOD TO SEE ONLY 1% OF YOUR AUDIENCE ARE.... NOT SURE. WOW WHAT THINKERS THEY MUST BE.
I truly am disusted with this Minister and Obamma......it is about time we stand up for America, Love it or leave it.

Why doesn't someone ask Senator Obama to say the Pledge of Allegiance and to sing our National Anthem. I would venture to bet anyone that neither he or his wife would recite either one. His allegiance is to Africa according to his church, not to the U.S.A. I wish people would wake up and smell the bacon burning right under our noses.

Bob Bechel in Pastor White's defense said that the Pastor did a lot to support the Blacks in his community. To that I respond that never have I been to a church that limited its outreach to one race. How devisive and what a betrayal to Christian values that would be. If Barack Obama has been mentored by this man for 20 years, Pastor White's ideology of separatism (black/libertarian theology) is so engrained in his psyche that he will really have a difficult time rising above this to be the president of the UNITED STATES. And he doesn't even know it. What Pastor White is promoting is a Black President of Black America. We have two Miss America's - we don't need 2 Presidents. I hope that everyone really thinks hard about the ISSUES that this raises for our country. We are not 2 Americas. We are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and we need to COME TOGETHER.

The Farakkan endorsement was a big clue...why would a racist and hate monger like Farakkan endorse Obama unless there was a deeply-felt kinship? Now we know.
Rev Wright only fact error was US Gov did not start aids. Americans
are very uninformed and brainwashed by the Jewish domination of mass media and fascists like Hannity and O'Reilly who attack Mexicans and
blacks at will.
Diane - 18 years ago
The pastor's sermons explain Michelle Obama's statement that for the first time in her adult life she is not ashamed of America.
I do not believe for a second that Obama didn't know what his pastor was preaching and I believe that he's denouncing Rev. Write now only because it's politically expedient.
How can we possibly consider electing a man Commander in Chief who refuses to salute the flag (I don't understand how so many people can overlook this), and a man who is a member of a church with a pastor preaching God Damn America!
If this country elects Obama Commander in Chief we are well on the way to destroying America from within. God help us if we do.
becky keron - 18 years ago
I'm sickened by two things. First, to hear such anger from the preacher, which understandably stems from a history of hurt. Secondly, I'm sickened by a the fact that we still have to listen to lies.
Larry - 18 years ago
After seeing the rantings of a raving lunatic Barack Obama refers to as his mentor, all I had to do is take one look at this church website and it's "10-point Vision" to quell any thoughts of electing any member of this congregation to lead our country. Read for yourself:

We were firm Obama believers, but this has now changed our minds, it answers all the questions we had about him. Why the need to so abruptly pull our troops, why did his wife make those comments a month ago.
This now puts it all together for us!
Trust me, when your a true church goers for 20 years, you very well know the backgrounds of your pastors and they know you.
Obama you sure didn't look secure in CNN's interview, as you tried to wiggle out of the questions at times
We will now be taking our vote elsewhere, sorry Obama!!!

It is about time that the true Obama is revealed to the nation. I bet there is a lot of voters, asking what the hell were we thinkning when we voted for Obama.

Obama has been spooky to me all along and now I no for sure what a snake he is. God Bless America
Linda Leahy - 18 years ago
Why would anyone go to a church for a long period of time if they didn't believe in what was being preached. I can't believe that Obama never heard his pastor preach as we did on TV if he truly has attended for that long. Sorry but you don't continue to go to a church unless you agree with the message.
Is the "outing" of Obama's pastor a hit job by the Clinton Machine?
Karen - 18 years ago
I believe this is very detrimental to Obama's campaign. One of the greatest and unforgiveable sins in the BIBLE is blasphemy, and this pastor has committed it with Obama right by his side. If he heard this once, he shouldn't have to hear it again to know that this man is NOT a man of God. I agree that the only reason this pastor is resigning is because Obama realized this was fixing to come out via video to the main stream media and how detrimental this would/could be.
Do we look stupid? Does Obama really think we think he slept at Wright's sermons for twenty years? --That Obama missed all the outrageous sermons -- the anti-white, anti-government ones?
Do us a big favor, please. Ask Obama Bin Barrack exactly what color does he think Jesus is? What religion was he before Wright brought him into Christianity, Black Style? Ask him why he dissed and mocked the Bible two times in one speech? Ask him who the hell does he think he's kidding? Ask him if he thinks jails, drugs, and 3 strike laws for criminals effected NO WHITE MEN? Ask him please -- INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!
Thank you, the little white girl from Brooklyn!

WOW! After reading all the anti-Obama comments, especially "What we are witnessing is an attempted hostile take over of the United States." What I can not believe is how this propaganda witch hunt has suckered these people in. All most as much as our so called "President" Bush.
If I did not know better, Bush has all but destroyed this country!

We should never mix politics with religion. I have been a Christian for 20 years myself and disagree with a the things a lot of religious leaders preach across the pulpit. My grandmother said that you have to sometimes eat the peanuts and throw away the shells. If Jeremiah Wright was a big influence on Barrack Obama, Barrack would not be in politics according to the teaching he would have received.
God Bless

a persons character is very strongly influenced by the people that they associate with, this preacher thinks faragon is a asset to the united states, and thus gives him a award, now the individual that belonged to the weather underround gives big political donations to Obama and several other people of questional character. i like many Americans were not born yesterday or the day before. Obama got catch and now stutters to explain not knowing any thing about this problem.give me and others a break.
Sue Bigsby - 18 years ago
McCain did not pussyfoot around the question of Obama's pastor. When the quotes were read he was obviously shocked and responded clearly and directly. Michelle Obama has been awake in church -- her comments of the first time she had been proud in her adult life of being an American. Hmmm --she is a loyal member of the nut-case flock. We called this inciting a riot in my day!
Pamela - 18 years ago
I am a Florida voter, a Democrat who voted for Obama in our disqualified "First go-round", primarily because I felt that McCain would have a better chance of beating Obama in the general election. But now, after seeing Obama's "minister" on TV spew out his hatred and evil, I will have to vote for that woman! I was not even going to bother to vote the in our SECOND Primary (if there is one) but you better believe I will now, and it won't be for Obama.
Lynn Fewell - 18 years ago
I think this completely demolishes Obama's credability. Does he really expect us to believe he never heard any of these comments previously to the news broadcasts? Listen to his wife. Is she not echoing what pastor Wright is saying? He either agrees or he should be ashamed. He is not qualified to be President of ALL of the people!
Greta,
In all my years of attending Christian Churches I have never heard any of my Pastors speak such hatred about any person, the only thing I have ever heard and learned was about Jesus Christ and the Father God, so when I see people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barracks Pastor they never speak about the Lord or Jesus all they speak about is race relations and how terrible they are, I think if they would just preach the word of God then I think this world would be a much better place.
Your legal review program has been turned into a Fox
conservative blog.
Thank you,
Mike
Wake up people.

amos 3:3 can two men walk together except they be agreed.
if he [obama], didn't know THEN what he [pastor wright] stood for , he [obama] KNOWS NOW!!!

Obama has completely lost his CREDIBILITY with this..... how sad....
It's just become clear to me what B.O. means by "change". Today he just learned how to change his mind. Only because he's busted!!!!!!!!!! It's over.
J, Fort Worth
We all know our own preacher!
Hey you guys, Barack is not responsible for what comes out of this man's mouth. You have to believe and trust what Barack is saying to you. Give him
a chance. If you can have faith and trust in God, trust Barack, he is our man for 2008. The media is trying to tear him down.
Read comment 29 It is pretty Awesome....... and accurate.... thanks Nancy......GET A CLUE!
Well, Barrack is better than the alternative. Do we really want Bill sleeping in the Presidential bedroom again?
This is FATAL for Obama...he should have separated himself from that nutcase preacher many years ago. No wonder Obama's wife has such a negative opinion of America...even though they live in a $1.6 million home with wine cellar, etc. and attended the best educational institutions in the country! What else do they want????????????!!!
EPM
In the other hand, I'm ashamed of the way the press is covering all this up
if all candidates are the same let us talk about john mcains pastor, also if it is guilty by association what about hillary and the governer, please find fault in senator obama not who u might think has the most influence in his life
From my view here in Scotland I am shocked, that a candidate for President
has been association with this low life all these years.
You fly with the crows you are going to get shot at. He should retire from the race. The world is laughing at the USA. As a dual national I am embarrassed
Hi Greta,
To think Obama may still have a chance is a travesty. I find it very sad, pathetic and intolerable that us Great American's must listen to anti-hate speeches from a Pastor, period! This is who and what Obama looks up to!!!!!!!!!!
this is very serious. People better be looking at these people (Barack, Michelle, the reverend, etc. It's scary to hear they believe one can live in this country 50 years and the first time they are proud of this country was three weeks ago. And not "God bless America," but God damned America. why are voters not paying attention. They are all racists.
Thank God America has now had the chance to see the true heart of the man behind all the pretty words .... before it was too late! Way to go guys! No REAL American would vote for BHO after this.
There is no way I would vote for him.
obama is a lunatic the way that he dances around the issue of rev. wright and expects us all to swallow whatever he says as being the truth. this man is a liar and probably does believe a fair amount of wright's racist diatribe. i wouldn't trust obama to be fair and on the level with americans regardless of their race and/or religion.
Wright.
He is nearly as good as Hillary at trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Americans!
If Obama wins the nomination---I am voting for MCCAIN!!!!!!!!
Being part of the church for a long time, he should know the ideology of the leader. However I think the pastor is right, but most of people have hard time to agree with the truth.
Obama The Great Black hope and the Darling Of The White self hating Liberal Democrat. Obama Won't wear An American flag Pin,Won't say the Pledge Of alliegience? Now this Minister Of HIS Church Spewing Hate. Do WE Americans want a Man And his wife (the First Time In My Life Im Proud To Be American!) And His Pastor in Our History? I think not! I said all along....This Guy Is a Charlatan and shuckster'!
I'm sickened by two things. First, to hear such anger from the preacher, which understandably stems from a history of hurt. Secondly, I'm sickened by a the fact that we still have to listen to lies.
i have a bad feeling about obama being assassainated. i really think he should resign now and try again in another 8 years
wow strong words now i know why his wife said for the first time in my life im proud of my country . obama should not be in our country or white house .hes just gonna take care of his kind and not the whies. im 70 and never saw a election like this one im seeing now.
He is done! Thank the LORD !
First, Obama' s wife was not proud of America. Now his minister is making hate filled statments about America. What is next his mother.
I'm just concerned that this too shall pass within this news cycle. Maybe someting else will pop up over the next few days and people will become occupied with the next news bites that come along.
I'm sickened by two things. First, to hear such anger from the preacher, which understandably stems from a history of hurt. Secondly, I'm sickened by a the fact that we still have to listen to lies.
After seeing the rantings of a raving lunatic Barack Obama refers to as his mentor, all I had to do is take one look at this church website and it's "10-point Vision" to quell any thoughts of electing any member of this congregation to lead our country. Read for yourself:
http://www.tucc.org/about.htm
If I did not know better, Bush has all but destroyed this country!
he is not the pastor
