How serious is the news about Senator Obama and Rev Jeremiah Wright, Jr?

If you belonged to a church, even for a few years, not considering that you were close enough to your pastor that he could influnce a book you have writen, you not only KNOW what he thinks and believes, but you also know his viewpoint on society in general. Every church has a grapevine. There is no way in hell Obama not only knew, but that he accepted those views!

  • linda palmer - 18 years ago

i think it is a discrace to all americans.the discusting remarks that jerimiah wright spoke of concerning america.i think he should be deported back to africa.he lives in a country that he hates.he also hates whites.obama should drop out of the race.anyone that has attend A SO CALLED CHURCH FOR 20 YEARS KNOWS WHAT HIS PASTOR BELEIVES AND PREACHES. (OR SO CALLED PREACHING) I AM VERY ANGERY AT THE REMARKS THAT WRIGHT SAID ABOUT AMERICA.I AM WHITE AND I HAVE BLACK FRIENDS.THAT DONT SHARE HIS OPINION.ALSO IF YOU WATCH THE TAPE OF HIS SO CALLED SERMONS.HIS CONGREGATION AGREED WITH ALL HIS HATEFUL COMENTS OF AMERICA AND WHITES.IF THEY DONT LIKE WHITES OR LIVING IN AMERICA GO LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.SENATOR OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN AS SENETOR AND DROP FROM THE RACE FOR PRESIDENT.WE DONT NEED A LEADER WHO ATTENDS A RACES CHURCH WHO IS AGAINST AMERICA.ROD PARSLEY AND JOHN HAGEE PREACH THE WORD OF GOD FROM THE BIBLE.

  • Lance - 18 years ago

He went to church there for twenty years and didn't know what his pastor stood for? That's real strange.

  • Pammie Ocala, FL - 18 years ago

I am not surprised that the Democrats would give Senator Obama a pass on this. I am also not impressed by Senator Obama's answers to the questions tonight on the H & C show. Senator Obama seemed to stutter more and answer questions very uncomfortably. In my opinion, the Senator favors the Pastor too much! The Senator should have shown anger and disgrace by all of the sayings that Pastor Wright said. I would not trust Senator Obama as our Commandor in Chief of our Great Country. If there are those who want change by having Senator Obama as our President, then the change they could have in my opinion will be CHANGE FOR THE WORSE. :-( (I am a Republican who wants Mitt as McCain's VP choice)

  • Bart Bordelon - 18 years ago

I just hope that American's finally open their eyes to the truth that is starting to come out. Barack is not only completely UNQUALIFIED to be President; he is flat out a nightmare. We don't know anything about him until this small glimpse into his world view. Seriously, if we voted for Presidential candidates based on merit and their resumes; he would NOT be remotely considered as a legitimate candidate. He is a very slick, quick talking person - much like a true politician. America - OPEN YOUR EYES and quit believing the pide piper. IF we actually voted based on ability, track record, and experience related to the job - Newt would be the obvious choice and his VP would be none other than Alan Keys. Too bad the actual people we need aren't electable - of course today, we wouldn't vote for Washington, Jefferson or Lincoln either.

  • Debby - 18 years ago

what are we stupid to think that Obama did not know of his pators practices and that he did not hear them.....

    Give me a break

  • C. Henry Posey - 18 years ago

I have been objective in viewing the democratic candidates stumping. This preacher of the trinity church and the close association to Mr. Obama has totally turned me off and no way will he get my vote.

Did Barack Obama attend Jeremiah Wright's church on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001? That's certainly a day any politician attended services. If he did, he witnessed Wright's outrageous ranting regarding "the chickens coming home to hatch." Why didn't he quit the church then???

Furthermore, these clips purportedly come from a BEST OF... dvd. By definition, a "best of" collection comprises a performer's finest moments. How could Obama NOT have witnessed this despicable nonsense at some time or another during the past 20 years?

Obama needs to be rejected as a viable presidential candidate. He is a radical outsider.

  • Bernie - 18 years ago

I don't believe a word Obama spoke this afternoon. I disagree with Newt that it's a standard thing from the left....the pastor is the first and only "public" person I have heard say G....D.....America. The pastor, Michelle and Barack add to "dirty" (a word used often by pastor) politics. Thank goodness the pastor was exposed, what would have happened to our country had that group from Trinity Church started running our country! Frightening! And by the way I find church people often discuss sermons, does Obama think we voting people are that gullible OR stupid?

  • Debbie - 18 years ago

Hi Greta,i am glad that Mr. hannity has been covering this story. He has been the only one for months. I am a democrat and a christian. I have been waiting for the past year doe someone to bring this to light. I also don't belive Senator Obama when he said he wasn't awhere of these comments until he ran for president. You don't attend a church for 20 years and not know. Plus Rev. wright isn't just his minister,he is his friend ,mentor, sounding board and someone he seeks advice from. To me this is very serious.

  • Henry Kahrs - 18 years ago

It is unfathomable to me that anyone could imagine this person, B.O., could possibly considered a serious contender for a leader of this wonderful country. I also believe we should have persons like Reverend (I use this term lightly) Wright leave this country and let them become part of some other country they think might be soooo much better. Reverend Wright has obviously had an influence on Obama despite all he now would like to have the weak minded persons believe. Please wake up, those of you who believe he is a good person with this country's best interests in mind. We know nothing about him.

  • ken acker - 18 years ago

If obama has been an active member of that church for 20 years and doesn't pay more attention to what goes on (assuming he REALLY did miss the controversial sermons) I would NOT want him to be president of our great nation with such a lack of attention to major issues. I fear the man is not telling us the truth.

  • Jeanne Hamilton - 18 years ago

Very interesting to hear Obama's remarks during your show tonight regarding his former minister. He sidestepped so well he could have been on Dancing with the Stars. I'd love to hear from one of those guys who can analyze whether, I mean when, he is lying. We've already had a liar as President Sure hope we don't elect another.

  • Jim - 18 years ago

Even worse than the repulsive comments of Rev Jeremiah Wright are the obvious lies of Sen Obama. It is virtually impossible to attend a church for twenty years and not be aware of fanatical rhetoric like this being spewed from the pulpit. The only options are: A: The Senator was aware of them and agreed or at the very least was not offended by them. Or B: He was completely in the dark and therefore too naive to be a senator let alone president of the United states.

  • Donna from Chicago - 18 years ago

It's very simple for me. Most important for me when choosing a President is integrity and good judgment. There's nothing Barack could say to bring back my faith in him now. I'm a Republican and would not have voted for him, but I was very interested in him and felt he could bring something good to the country if he became president. I feel differently now, I feel like a lot has changed.

  • Nancy - 18 years ago

20 years and he never knew his mentor is a racist? This is not even in the realm of the believable. What is frightening is that this might not have come out and this man might have become the President of the God d--n United States. A question: Are all black churches this way? Since I have attended integrated churches, I was not aware of what is evidently going on in black churches. I hope that some black church people let us know that their church is not racist.

  • Steve - 18 years ago

I think Barack is a great person and will make an outstanding President. He is the correct person to bring the United States back to honesty and integrity in the eyes of the world. Steve in Ireland.

  • Lea - 18 years ago

I'm not voting for him now. Obahma is lying thru his teeth. In 20 years he still goes to same church. Wright is a black bigot like the other person said he is preaching hatered. We have enough problems in the USA without him preaching. We are going to be a third world country (I think it's probably to late). All of the jobs have gone overseas...What now.

  • James Carter - 18 years ago

Looks like Senator John McCain will be facing the Clinton's for sure. Americans will not commit suicide with that hate America monger Senator Barack Obama.

  • Eva Zaleski - 18 years ago

Now we know who Obama is, he is done!!!!!
    Thak you Lord!

  • Rose - 18 years ago

He should drop out of the presidential race AND resign as senator. Birds of a feather do flock together. Maybe someone will study the audience shots of these speeches/sermons and will be able to pick Obama out of the crowd, which will prove he lied tonight about not hearing these tirades. Finally, the press is picking up on this story and it is about time they quit giving him a pass. Oh, and if Obama is elected president, who will be among his "advisors" and "spiritual" counselors, someone who has been like an uncle to him for over 20 years? Shudder.

  • John - 18 years ago

Anthony Rezko is a Syrian money man caught with $3.5 Million in Lebonese money to be laundered into Democrat campaigns including B. Hussien Obama's. Louis Farakhan has endorsed B. Hussien, and Mr. B has already promised to surrender to Islamic terrorists in Iraq while he also starts a new civil war by bombing Pakistan. Mr. B has made other promises to create a new court system whose sole purpose will be to try white people for "hate crimes"! Who hates white America more? Al Quada or Al Hussien?

  • Bill Jaquess - 18 years ago

Disgraceful ! By the way, why does FoxNews bleep out the "N" word but play out completely G-- D---. The later statement breaks one of the 10 commandments, the first is just a cultural choice.

  • Terry Pruitt - 18 years ago

Now let me see if I understand this. A man goes to a church for over 20 YEARS and has never before today heard this kind of hatred and anti-american rhetoric being spewed by this self proclaimed "man of God". I go to church and I know what my pastor says every week. I just can't believe we are supposed to be so stupid that we would belive these lies from Mr. Obama.

  • BRENDA - 18 years ago

I AM SO AFRAID FOR OUR COUNTRY IN THIS ELECTION. I THINK THAT WE AS AMERICANS AND CHRISTIANS NEED TO START PRAYING AND PRAYING HARD. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT OBAMA HAS SAT IN THE HEARING OF THIS PREACHER (DUH) AND HAS NEVER HEARD THIS. I ATTEND CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY AND I HEAR ABOUT THE LOVE OF GOD, HIS CRUICIFTION AND RESURECTION, ABOUT SALVATION ETC. THAT IS WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREACHING IF THAT IS WHAT IS REALLY IS. I HAVE OFTEN WONDER ABOUT THIS SO CALLED REV. THAT DO NOTHING BUT START TROUBLE.
    GOD HELP US!

  • Paul - 18 years ago

BHO is running on the "judgement" platform. His judgement in pastor and theology is seriously lacking. I discounted the Michelle Obama not being proud of America speach, I discounted BO not wearing a flag lapel pin; but now after hearing Rev Wright, maybe they do hate America. Finally, BO says it is his superior judgement that caused him to object to going to war in Iraq. It sounds like from the Reverends sermons that Barack has been taught that our involvement in WW I was wrong, that 911 was good and that America is the evil empire. Is it wrong to suggest that perhaps it wasn't his superior judgement that connects all these issues, but possibly his anti-American sentiments?

  • Paul - 18 years ago

He(the pastor) is a hate monger and a racist. Seems odd the Democrates can politic in churches but Republicans don't dare do this. I hope that Obama does not get nominated, he is very dangerous. I only wish we the people had good nominees for Nov.

  • Peggy ~ Ky - 18 years ago

Hi Greta I really think Obama has an agenda and rich black people like his pastor are supporting his effort...I think people like Bill O'rielly who is always defending Obama will eventually see what this man Obama is up to.
I have discussed this with many people and everyone I have spoken to says it is a scary situation. These people who are voting to put him in as president better wake up and smell the coffee. "God Bless America"

  • Gail - 18 years ago

Now we know why Obama won't put his hand over his heart during the singing of our national anthem and why he won't wear a USA flag pin. What is wrong with these people who are voting for him??? He's not patriotic!!! He doesn't love this country. HE SHOULD NEVER BECOME PRESIDENT!!! GOD- HELP US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The blacks accuse whites of being racists - now we hear it in reverse. This pastor is a racist and is a bitter, sick man!!! As the shepherd, so goes the flock. I don't believe Obama that he never heard a sermon such as we have heard on TV tonight!

  • Manny - 18 years ago

This is a men of the devil, no man stands in the pulpit and speaks such hatred. The God of the bible (Jesus) speaks of love towards one another.
I have no doubt that Obama knows about the so called reverends view of America. Neither of them are Christians....

  • Keith from San Diego - 18 years ago

Mr. Obama has just lost the vote of millions of people, including nearly every Jew, every evangelical, and everyone who abides by the great principles of faith and love. The candidate who lead through a message of unity has been the member of a church bent on racial division. No one who is a 20 year member of a church that curses "God damn America" can become the president of a country that sings the praise God Bless America.

Tonight on Fox I saw Mr. Obama stutter and provide one word answers like never before. He's done.

It's ironic that its too late for Hillary to catch Obama in delegates. In short, I think Mr. Obama's pastor has just handed the presidency to Mr. McCain. Wow!

  • tom davis - 18 years ago

i don't think mr. obama is telling the truth about his knowledge of the sermons rev.wright was preaching.

  • Sally - 18 years ago

This information is important and the American Voters had better keep digging. We KNOW Hilliary will do anything to get her pantsuit in the Oval Office, but this guy is literally an UNKNOWN! GO MCCAIN!

  • Paula in Texas - 18 years ago

    Gretta,

There is NO WAY he did not know the pastor was saying these things. This is so infammatory, every american should be outraged. This is the most hateful and crazy statements I've ever heard in my 51years. This is so beyond damaging. I will never beleive he did not know this pastor was so outragous. I can't imagine we would elect someone associated with these statements, if we do God help us.

  • Bill - 18 years ago

I believe Obama is lying. He uses the words "some" and "most" when denouncing the preachings of this person he calls his "mentor"? I wonder what his understanding of the word "judgement" really is. I was open-minded about him until this unfolded. If he isn't he should be "toast".

  • Charlene - 18 years ago

    Truth King,

If you think calling us "racist white america" will garner any votes for Obama, you're crazier than your post.

  • Joe Carranza - 18 years ago

BHO appears to be a silvered tongued lier--between his wife and now his pastor, what more of a sign do we need--are we that desparate for change?

  • Stabe - 18 years ago

This does not impact my vote in the least since I aw through this facade of a person months ago. Hopefully the rest of you catch up!

  • Paul Phelps - 18 years ago

Slavery was wrong, but to continue to fuel the fires of the past to build emotions of hate is also wrong. If anyone, white or black, hates America as much as this pastor does, then they are FREE to leave. Go to a country that believes in Islam, go to a country that hates America, AND LIVE THERE. The beauty of America is you are free NOT to believe in any god, but don't tread on the rights of those who believe in the ONE TRUE GOD found in the Bible. We are free TO believe. These aren't sermons about God or how God would have us live, these are sermons of personal vengeance for the sin of slavery committed in the past. God speaks of forgiveness and reconciliation. God have mercy on our beloved nation.

  • Mark - 18 years ago

BHO just about sealed his political coffin. To not know what Rev. Wright stands for after 20 years is implausible. To not denounce him prior to it becoming an issue is implorable. To realize suddenly that it is an issue is political suicide! Remember also that there is a brewing scandal in Illinois with the Tony Rezko trial. Do we really know yet how close that relationship was/is? What other skeletons does BHO have? Stay tuned.....

  • max - 18 years ago

not a church going member all the time? When I didnt have time to go I usually talked to someone who did and asked about the sermon, he didnt even have to do that he could asked minister himself. Obama scares me now seemed that he was squirming like a small child with their hand in the cookie jar

  • Susan - 18 years ago

After 20 years as an active member of the church how is it possible that Senator Obama was unaware of the ignorance and hate mongering of Rev. Wright. If Obama was NOT aware then he ceetainly is not qualified to be President.

  • shirley - 18 years ago

I cannot believe sen. Obama never knew or heard any of the statements we all heard tonight from his own pastor. This is more than scarry!!! Obama could be our president!!! Please we need more than help!!

  • Shirley - 18 years ago

My belief is that if the Great Dr. Martin Luther King were alive today, he would condemn the rederic spewed by Mr. Jeremiah Wright. Not only for damning this great country of ours but for potentially ruining the hard work and sacrifice that the Great Dr. King believe in and died for.

  • Carolyn Tichnell - 18 years ago

When you attend a church, it's because you believe in the doctrine and what is preached and taught or you do not go there. For Obama, it is what it is. He has gone there 20 years and no doubtedly believes what is taught and no way has he not heard some of these terrible sermons...so again, it is what it is. Obama should be done because of this.

  • Patti Needham - 18 years ago

I am truly amazed in this time in our country that we have more news coverage than every before that there is such a majority of citizens willing to vote for Sen. Obama on his speeches alone!! No accomplishments to his career!!! His ties to his Minister are for a long twenty years. No way he could not have known exactly just what this Minister's true feeling toward America were. Wake up America before it is far too late!!!

  • Debbi - 18 years ago

I have been following this on talk radio with Sean for weeks now. Most of us responding to this right now are probably conservatives. The ones I worry about the most are the far left and youth who don't watch Fox News. How do we make sure this gets out and that the liberal media doesn't bury this? Truly, this man resembles the anti Christ. I am very concerned.

  • Denise Spagnuolo - 18 years ago

This pastor is a nut. We cant have a president who listens to a mental case like that. I cant believe what he was saying. Im furious!

  • Bren - 18 years ago

Greta--Obama said "he didn't attend didn't hear" his pastor. (I don't believe him.) Did his wife hear/attend?????? Obama is trying to insult our intelligence and spin this.

Also, Obama said he's been attending the Senate and in Washington and didn't know all of this going on with his pastor. Duh???? No text messages from his staff, his wife????? He should show us his phone/text messages. Perhaps he wouldn't answer the phone at 3 a.m.!!!!

  • Danny McDowell - 18 years ago

I think the pastor's sermons could be devestating to Obama's campaign. Coupled with Mrs. Obama's recent comment about being "proud of her country"----this could be just the thing that sinks Obama's efforts. If he gets past this issue----it will follow him to the general election and draw voters from the Center to the Right. It's unfortunate that this VERY UNWISE PASTOR could not keep his mouth shut long enough to realize a huge dream -----that of seeing a black man elected to the White House by a PREDOMINATELY WHITE Democratic Party. It's also TOO BAD that the abrasive attack on White America is so PROFOUNDLY TRUE. Danny McDowell----one very WHITE MAN.

  • cam - 18 years ago

Obama is leaving a lot of information out of what he knows about his pastor. Sixteen years in the pews and Obama has not heard the pastor rant. This was not the first time the pastor spoke his feelings about this country. Speaking about God and then damning this Great God is evil and under the control of Satan. I don't want this man president of my country.
    Keep up the good work!

  • RoseMary --Hawaii - 18 years ago

I want a President that has an American agenda---not a black agenda, not an evangelical agenda, nor a rich or a gender agenda.... HELP!!!

  • the truth - 18 years ago

i think that Fox new is the real racist, all of their new shows, show black in a negative light. Here in Miami, Fox news and channel seven news seem to think black people don't exist. what we need to do is boycott all Fox show and new nationwide and show their advertisers that we do exist.

  • Jerry Biggers - 18 years ago

Senator Obama's statements regarding his lack of knowledge about Rev. Wright's anti-American and racist preachings are disingenuous and lacks credulity. He has been a member and major contributor of this church and it is totally unbelievable that he did not know what Rev. Wright said. More likely, he has been caught and is now trying to put distance between himself and Rev. Wright. TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE, SENATOR!

  • From MA - 18 years ago

    Hi Greta,
He cannot be trusted. His attitude is that he above all the fray and deflects any criticism of him. Frankly, Michelle Obama's comments and speeches are racists. No thanks, I would rather have Hillary, then McCain.

  • Carolyn - 18 years ago

Barak Obama is insulting my intelligence if he thinks I'm going to believe he knew Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, sat in his church, and never heard one or more of his racial anit-American rants. Obama has not only exposed himself as untrustworthy, having poor judgment, but also a Black Supremist or even a Black Fascist.

  • Buddy Ingram - 18 years ago

I am extremly offended by the comments on America and God by Obama's Pastor. Anyone that votes or suports Obama is a disgrace to America. Anyone that says God Dame America should be punished.

  • Sarah Hartman - 18 years ago

I’m so appalled by what this Rev is saying. If he feels America is so awful why is he still living here? I do not trust Obama. If this man is really his mentor then he has always know what his views were. I do not want him in the White House. McCain all the way.

  • Connie Kimble - 18 years ago

If, I, as a white person sat in a church & heard the same serman with the word black instead of white used, I would have been appalled & walked out - even if it only happened once. He is a racist & over 20 years of contact, I can not believe that Senator Obama could not have been greatly influenced.

  • Alma Jackson - 18 years ago

Since Obama is so close to the controversial so called pastor, attending that church for 20 years, it is strongly unlikely that he is innocent of parallel beliefs. This nation does not need a president with connections to such hatred. I can't help but wonder what the true Barack H. Obama is all about.

  • Janet Fox - 18 years ago

I agree with Hannity. Obama should be disqualified as a Presidential nominee and should also be forced to resign as Senator of Illinois.
We know nothing about this man and what we do know doesn't look good.
His wife's statements and the paper she wrote in college were bad enough.
    Now this is worse.

  • Beth - 18 years ago

I already have doubt on Obama and the media just now questioning him about his association with Rev Wright. When Michelle Obama said that for the first time on her adult life that she is now proud to be an American, it seems to me having a pastor feeds you that type of hatred sermon she become like her pastor and so is Obama! Obama believes Rev Wright teachings and support them and he said he never heard those hatred sermons, that is a B.S.! where is his judgment he saying about????

  • Tim K - 18 years ago

Keep on plugging away Fox News. The truth about the Democratic party needs to come out. I am hoping that half of America is not that blind that they can be duped by a well spoken serpant. We will find out in November.

  • Donna - 18 years ago

He should stop running for President & should resign his senate seat.

  • Harry - 18 years ago

It is impossible for B. O. to have attended this Church and have such a close relationship with the Pastor to not have heard this type of comment. This is agreement by silence, plain and simple.

Wright should be held accountable for his remarks and show proof of their accuracy.

  • Victoria - 18 years ago

All I can say is, with these kinds of issues arising for Obama, Hillary is looking
    better and better!!

  • Angela - 18 years ago

For 20 years he never heard any of these statements made? I am all for a successful black man who is dedicated to uniting our country for president.. but a black man who speaks about America and any race like this, no thank you. He may condemn these statements now, but he has been believing in and listening to this for the past two decades. I have been for Obama until now. I can't imagine an America run by a man with this pastor by his side. Just wait until more footage comes out... with Obama in the audience!!

  • Erika - 18 years ago

This is all the more reason why I am voting for Hillary as soon As Obama wife made the statement that " we can final be proud of America" that was the tip off. That they where raciest people . And the fact that Obama was part of this raciest church what does it say about Obams judgment? Also, He has a fascination with communism! people should be scared you know what they say " Birds of a Feather Flock Together"

  • kay - 18 years ago

O'Bama's constituents don't care about morality, God's laws, or what's best for us in America. They only associate with race. His pastor has just enforced that type of thinking...racism. When the anti-christ comes into power, however, it will not matter what we vote. Seems to me we're well on our way to meeting the anti-christ.

  • the truth - 18 years ago

  • effie - 18 years ago

He needs to go! I don't buy any of it.....he didn't know what his preacher for 20 years was saying. His church is all about hate for our country, the white man and the jews. Shame on Barock .... he is a danger to this country. I am sick about the prospects of this man for president. We must educate the voters about the dangers of a man who spews such hate for our country.Love it or leave it I say.

  • jim - 18 years ago

And BHO says he will "Unify the Country"??????????????????? God Help (and not damn) The USA if BHO is made President!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear Malta is a pretty good place to escape to.

  • Janette Bullard - 18 years ago

The Rev Wright was clearly Barack Obama's MENTOR!!!!!! Obama needs another mentor and our country needs Obama to go home.

  • lucy embry - 18 years ago

who would let their children listen to this in church they are not following the teachings of christ jesus said be not overcome with evil but overcome evil with good

  • Shank - 18 years ago

It is amazing that the man running for President of the United States, denies with a straight-face, that the person he associated with for 20 long years, and also his wife associated with, had such radical, separatist and racist views about the world around him, and that the Rev. was continually inciting his congregation with such repeated sermons....Does Obama really believe that the American people are so naive and gullible?!!!!! This is an incredulous shame, and he should be dumped immediately due to this hypocrisy...even from the Senate.

  • Rick - 18 years ago

Wow! This Pastor is as looney as any KKK or White Supremacist I have ever heard! The really frightening part of all this is, how on earth could Obama know this idiot all these years and not realize what is going on in this guys rotten mind? I hardly think that anyone who is as naive as this has any business leading our country. GIVE IT UP OBAMA!

  • Jo - 18 years ago

am soooo thankful this is finally getting some press....this man should have quit or for that matter...not even belonged to a church so devisive for the USA...BO is speaking out of both sides of his mouth when he says he has not been aware of his pastors views....these lies will bring him down..as it rightfully should....there are many churches in Chicago that he could have taken his family to....even with WRight "retiring"..the guy replacing him has the same horrible views about America..and whites in general....let the truth be heard...before America makes a horrible mistake and gives Obama the most important job in the world.......

  • star - 18 years ago

Wow, I just watched Obama's response. Not such an eloquent speaker now. Perhaps this country will see him for who he is. Open your eyes America. Do you really want someone with this kind of background running your country?

  • Kaz - 18 years ago

Well, well, well, welcome to how Black America have been feeling and fearing for 200 plus years, electing White America into public office whose platform in the past have been to hate and keep black people on the outside looking in. How can one person's view be that of one of another. Barack goes to church to worship the Lord, he does not go to sensor what his Pastor has to say. There are many white churches, especially in the south, that their Sunday sermon is that to preach hate. As a Black American, who is able to pass and go to these sermons to have an idea of what is preached, is unbelievable. I feel that the people who are uncomfortable are the ones that perpetuate exactly what the Pastor is preaching about, the differences in the treatment of White America vs. Black America and all other minority groups.

"IF YOU LAY DOWN WITH DOGS, YOU GET FLEAS" IF SENATOR OBAMA HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THIS CHURCH FOR 20 YRS AND THIS MAN IS HIS SPIRITUAL ADVISOR, HOW IN THE WORLD CAN OBAMA EVEN ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN OR WRANGLE HIS WAY OUT OF THIS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SHOCKED. VOTERS HAD BETTER REALLY THINK BEFORE THEY CAST THAT PRESIDENTIAL VOTE. WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THIS COUNTRY?

First his wife's comment about America and now his pastor's vile words, looks to me like the sheep's cover is coming off the wolf. God Bless America!!!!

Greta, This gives us a glimpse of the REAL Barack Obama. He will do/say anything to get elected. Remeber he refuses to wear a Am. Flag lapel pin and place his hand over his heart at the playing of the National Anthem. I hope America smartens up soon and sees this!

Mr. Obama must have been a cafeteria church goer. Christmas and Easter and none during the Year for him not ever hear Rev Jeremiah Utter those dispicables things about the USA.

A president has to represent ALL THE PEOPLE not just one segment. The rich, the poor, the black. the white the bright people, and the not so bright. The not so bright being the ones that do not realize 20 years attending a church and not knowing of the retoric being esposed will not wash. The people surrounding a politian give you a very good idea of the true man, not the facade the politician wants you to see. This man i so slick he scares me. Lets not get carried away by a charismatic speaker. Lets look deeper.

i think that Fox new is the real racist, all of their new shows, show black in a negative light. Here in Miami, Fox news and channel seven news seem to think black people don't exist. what we need to do is boycott all Fox show and new nationwide and show their advertisers that we do exist.

"I bugie hanno i gambi corti" is an Italian expression that translates to, "Lies have short legs". The truth cannot be outrun. The real Obama has been exposed. He is a racist. His associates are racist and haters (Farrakhan and his "pastor"). It took extreme pressure before he partially repudiated Farrakhan's endorsement. The fact that he does not wear a U.S. Flag on his lapel was at first discarded as unimportant. What does one think of that, now that they have heard his anti-American, racist "pastor"?

More importantly, how many voters are familiar with his Senate voting record? That speaks for itself.

If this man is elected as our President, we will all suffer.

It is laughable to hear Mr. Obama state that after 20 years of sitting in the pews of this Church and being a close friend of this pastor .. that he has never heard this type of language in Wrights preaching...
Obama is a typical lying politician trying to cover his backside when it hits the fan.... nothing new.

  • bill tackett - 18 years ago

I THAT HE WAS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT KNOWING OR HAD HEARD ABOUT THESE HATE SERMONS. THE FACT HE WILL SAY ANYTHING THAT WOULD HELP HIMSELF TO GET ELECTED TO BE PRESIDENT.

  • Linda Taylor - 18 years ago

    Greta,
These are the things that you see and hear about all the time when the black people don't agree with something that is going on. It always amazes me that the people in the media don't get it. We have come a long way in the race issue, but I'm sorry I feel like most white people truly do try not to be racists, but then crap like this comes along and sets it back 50 years. If this is Christianity, I have no worries about going to hell!!!

Obviously, someone has been listening to the "Preacher", as Mrs. Obama has stated, that she was (just) now proud to be an American.....If you were to change the "preacher's" words from "white" to "infidel", it would sound a lot like one of Alqaeda's propaganda speeches.

  • Aarica - 18 years ago

If it is necessary for one to take every aspect of Obama's life to attempt to find flaws and shortcomings then that is fine. One must understand and take these comments that the Rev. preached with a grain of salt. It is disgusting to shun a man for the words of another. Was Hillary Clinton responsible for the racist words of her husband?! Was she condemned for having racist notions and tendencies. Let this man run without bringing unnecessary outlandish claims. Let us all recall anything we have ever heard from our religious leaders, have you agreed with everything that was said, all at times!?!?!?!?!

  • Beth - 18 years ago

I can not believe that in this day (post 9/11) that he would be allowed or our government would allow this man to continue to run for President. If a student makes statements like these, they are immediatly investigated for terrorism. Although the words were not uttered directly from his mouth, Obama is a follower and supporter of this man.

Is this reverse racism? I am appauled at this Preacher's teachings, if this is what goes on in predominately African American churches, no wonder we have racism in this country.

  • Bob - 18 years ago

Compared to The Clintons, he has fewer issues. Just wait til they start running the videos on The Clinton scandals. Why is the news media ignoring all the juicy stories about the murder of Vince Foster, selling pardons, etc etc.

  • Peggy - 18 years ago

I think he is fooling himself to think this can get by the American People. You can't possibly sit in church over a period of 20 years and not know what the preacher is all about.

  • H. Rosa - 18 years ago

Sorry but this Rev. could be the Antichrist. This Presidential race is nothing but Racist on Obama's part, and as far as his wife, if she isn't happy with America why in the Hell is she here.

  • Roz Lesser - 18 years ago

I voted "not sure." The reason is that I believe it should be a big deal but the public seems to be so blinded by Senator Obama's "star power" that this will result in being "not a big deal."

  • Keith M - 18 years ago

You got to be kidding me. If that wasn't the biggest back peddle I've ever seen I don't what is. If he jumps ship that quick I don't want him any where close to the white house.

If Obama really didn't know about this, in the 20 years he has attended this Church, what does that say about his judgement? He apparently "didn't know" al Qaeda had bases in Iraq either. What else isn't he aware of?
