I buy CD's at whatever place is convenient at the time. I am not so much into the digital crap on IPOD unless I own it already and put an extra copy on there for when I travel. I have to have the packaging. I am really really really looking forward to the new Mchine Head and Dream Theater. Also curious for the new Opeth -- loved the last record.

I haven't been buying much recently, but I like having a CD as opposed to purely digital music.

I like buying on iTunes since i can generally download it in the morning of release day while at work. Otherwise ill go to a store like HMV. Sometimes if a band intrigues me, but im unsure if i want to buy, ill stream a couple songs on youtube to get a sense if i like it or not.

Usually online (itunes or amazon) but if I really like the band I'll purchase a physical CD.
Or I'll pre-order a physical CD online, like the Machine Head Fanpack I preordered.

I generally buy through Amazon or the like for selection.

In Minsk there are some big stores but you can't buy any music there cause for example metal&rock are not so easy to find. So I ask our friends from Russian to buy some CD's.

I'll buy what I can from local record stores. If I have to have it quickly, I'll go to Best Buy and pick it up. If it is really rare and can't be found on physical media, I'll buy it on iTunes.

New metal CDs are hard to find in Eastern Canada. HMV seems to only carry a few. Forget about Futureshop or Best Buy...no metal there! Walmart sometimes has new metal releases. I would love to order more from the bands/labels websites but the duty and shipping to Canada can be brutal so I normally resort to Amazon.ca. iTunes is out of the question as I like to have a physical CD in my hands. \m/

I usually buy used CDs from Amazon or get free itunes or pay full price for Cds at Walmart or Amazon if its a rare CD or a must have that I can't get used. Most CDs are available for a couple bucks with $3 shipping because everyone sells theirs after they upload it. Sorry if that doesn't benefit the artists, but it is the only thing I can usually afford!

Love all the extra shit you get when you preorder.

I buy from local record stores and from the bands. It's important to support local businesses like record shops. You almost always get the personal touch when shopping their as the owners usually know loads about music and can recommend new things for you to listen to :-)

I will only buy one band's CD and that's Nickelback. I am more than happy to give them my money, they are also the only concerts I will pay for :)

I still buy from the local Newbury Comics store, I like having a physical CD, liner notes and all that other good stuff.

    Heritage will be amazing!

  • Peter Armstrong - 15 years ago

I usually get my cd's from Amazon because cd shops are often overpriced.

I almost always buy my CDs from a store. I literally have CDs all over my house, my bedroom, my living room, my basement, my bathroom... someday I'll get around to organizing them. :)
