msnbc is already jumping on Palin with a "coverup" story. disgusting.

WOW! I didn't have to listen to anyone else to know that John McCain had made a fantstic choice for VP to serve with him. I am estatic!!!

I started looking at Gov. Palin about 2 weeks ago when I first started hearing a little "buzz". I was impressed by what I found and - obviously - so was Sen McCain. I couldn't be happier for my country and for my party. Perhaps we're again going in the right direction.

Better order your bumper stickers and yard signs NOW before they sell out. Notice all the products on the McCain/Palin site are Made in the USA!
Caroline - 18 years ago
Don't let the depressing media get to ANY of you. They have a vested interest in selling depressing news so they will do everything they can to denounce Mrs. Vice-President Palin. You Go, Girl! uh huh!
Sandy S. - 18 years ago
Move over "moveon", the Maverick Machine is marching on. Hope has returned to the Republican Party. This choice demonstrates McCain's true leadership ability...bold, refreshing, right. God Bless the United States of America and God Bless you John McCain for "hearing" us. This choice may have just kept us from becoming an "Obamanation" I can't way to get my yardsign.
Steve L. - 18 years ago
I still had hope for the Republican ticket and for McCain, until his choice for VP. How in the world can you pick a candidate for the second highest position to lead this country, with less than 20 months experience????? This is not a popularity contest, nor a position to have "firsts in history". We live in a volitile world where we need experienced/mature individuals, wether they be republicans or democrates, to deal with rogue nations and to protect our national interests. We now have neither in the republican or democratic ticket. God help us, for we are going to get just what we deserve, no matter who gets elected in. I believe I'll just sit this election year out rather than be a part of this fiasco.
Fran - 18 years ago
First day I have seen her & she has my vote. Sounds like a very
intelligent -down to earth person. She can relate to the middle
class.
WoW!, I was so surprised... Pleasantly Surprised! I was a little unsatisfied with McCain, but his choice has excited me for the first time in the race. She is a nice conservative who is smart, strong, independent and a real breath of fresh air. I also love how she stands up for what she believes in without regard to party lines.
Garland Paul - 18 years ago
I am so ecstatic about McCain's decision for VP. I think that Obama is done for sure now. I can hardly wait to get busy helping to get this dynamic dueo elected!
Sally - 18 years ago
What a breath of fresh air Sarah Palin is. Her beliefs, family values, and dedication to her country, should inspire all of us. I would have voted Republican regardless, but I am so pleased with McCains choice.
It was Ho-Hum in my mind on this election, but today it went to Whee!!!!!
Totally blown away by McCain's choice. I watch Fox all day to find all I could. Was totally enchanted by Palin and her speech (on the cuff, so to speak). I got a call from my daughter-in-law all excited about the choice also. We had a great day talking about this choice. Totally love it. Go McCain/Palin we're with you.
Janet Ambrose - 18 years ago
I have fought off tears several times when I've listened to SP speak...now I know that John McCain is as smart as he is brave. He is masculine enough to surround himself with powerful women (his wife and SP) and be comfortable, proud and at the top of his game.
I thought he was brave when he turned down being released by the North Vietnamese but now I know he still has it in him. Now he can be sure he's got a good woman, "watching the store," while he hunts down and slaughters that SOB Osama bin Laden.
I'm very comfortable having a focused, dedicated and forthright woman such as Gov. Sarah Palin in charge and if necessary, even as President. I much prefer someone who didn't run for the job but someone selected by a highly experienced political and literal American warrior.
Brian - 18 years ago
Wow! Palin is a REAL PERSON! She will be our next VP and, no doubt, She Will Be PRESIDENT. I'm very impressed with John McCain's decision and proud of our system.

Sarah Palin is an awesome VP nominee. She will be a shining light in the dark political arena in Washington, DC. God has obviously been preparing her and her family for this position for a long time. He knows what He's doing as He is still in charge of our country. He loves America. Christians everywhere need to be praying for America and this election like never before. We have a lot at stake. Let's partner with the Lord and with McCain and Palin to make a difference in our world. They stand for truth, integrity and honor. I applaud you John McCain for your decision. May God be with you.
Mary - 18 years ago
I didn't even want to vote in this election. Felt like I did not have a horse in this race. Sarah Palin has changed all that. What a genuine, honest, down to earth person she is and in politics for the right reasons. She roots out corruption and wasteful spending. What a contrast to Grecian columns framing the plastic, phoney, shady friend to terrorists, Obama.
Steve - 18 years ago
Pelosi just became a very bad memory. Sarah Palin has more honesty and integrity then Pelosi ever thought about. It is up too us the people to clean up the House of Reps. If your congress person didn't do their job, throw them out and find someone who will. It is a new day.
MARY BENNETT - 18 years ago
WOW! Great choice, Sarah is just what the Republicans need to be fired up.

Take this country back from the leftist elitist...VOTE for MCCAIN AND PALIN!!!
I love this ticket.

I am a registered Democrat who was a supporter of Hillary. I will vote Republican in November because I believe that Sarah Palin will do a remarkable job with John McCain. I do hope the Democrats will take a look at all of us who are changing parties in this election and note that a woman could be an asset in running this country! Shame on you Obama!!
Yvonne - 18 years ago
I have had the utmost respect for John McCain, but after today, I admire him, trust him and feel he made the most amazing choice for his running mate.
She is amazing. I can't wait for her to debate Biden.
She will be an asset to the campaign and I am so proud that will are going to have a woman in the White House.
I am so very proud.
Wow. Isn't John McCain wise???????

It's great to hear about Sarah Palin, like the country song says" Put a girl in it", by Brooks and Dunn, I love this country and I also served my country!!
Susan - 18 years ago
All I can say is WOW....today I was elated beyond words and finally know my vote as a Republican will now be what I was hoping for in the beginning....to get back to the values and beliefs this great country was based on. Obama who.....change......most surely will come to those who wait!!!
Keemo - 18 years ago
What a brilliant move by McCain, and what a beautiful contrast between the Democrats and Republicans. Not only will Sarah Palin be our first female vice president, but looking forward eight years, I think that glass ceiling will be shattered forever. I don't know about her selection being trumpeted as a surprise, though. She was vetted a few months ago, and I at least thought Palin would be a brilliant choice. As a Republican-leaning independent, I am now seriously considering joining and working with the GOP. Maybe there's hope for us here in Hawaii after all! Sarah Palin seems to represent all that is best not just about American womanhood but about Americans in our entirety. The next two months may help us all redefine ourselves as a nation.
Shooter - 18 years ago
GRRREEEEAAAAATTTTT! Choice! What an Ace in the hole. I was losing confidence with John Mc Cain campain. Integrity is the number one issue for me and my family. Go Governor Palin you have the character and integrity to shine.
tonyp878 - 18 years ago
With McCains expertise in foreign policy and her brilliance, I have no doubt she is THE ONE for VP.... Alaska Governor Palin would make a great Vp and even a great president!!!! If she run the country like Alaska.....nock my socks off

What a pick!! An excellent choice for all the right reasons. A woman of strength, intengrity, and good person. So refreshing to see an intelligent woman getting props she deserves. She is relatable on so many levels. A true American running for office for the good of the people. AWESOME! My goofy brother will even vote now- for McCain/Palin. Great job My prayers are with you both and for you bettering this country.
I never understood wanting the Clinton drama back in office, Obama was interesting until he never made a clear statement on anything. A man of empty words. MCCain/Palin how great for this country.
Maureen - 18 years ago
McCain made an excellent choice for his vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin (AK). It goes to show that republicans know how to pick them just like our President Bush with having Condelezza Rice in his cabinet!
Fred Givler - 18 years ago
As a Senior Citizen who can not afford to retire and has seen my meager 401 plan drop about 10%, I believe her record of integrity and accomplishment such as the pipeline will help our economy. Maybe she will influence McCain to drill in AMWAR. I hope this team will push and get Nuclear, Coal, more drilling, (less uncalled for restrictions) and alternative prospects that the Democrats like to push.
I went to bed last night after only listening to 5 minutes of Sen Obama’s speech. Where is this reach across the isle, change, new candidate that plays well with others? It wasn’t the guy who accepted the nomination from the dems last night. That was same-ole-same-ole Chicago styled thug politics talking with pretty teeth. On the other hand, wow, what a breath of fresh air to hear that Governor Palin of Alaska is Sen McCain’s choice for VP. Those republicans that were just going to hold their nose and pull the lever for someone who was not their choice….well, tonight we’re as excited about Gov Palin as we can be. She is a bedrock solid conservative republican who is the epitome of our conservative platform in every way. She’s strong and intelligent and she doesn’t come across as some pissed off, frustrated fema-Nazi. She relates on many levels with every working woman, wife and mother who wants something better for her family. She is prolife, pro-gun, pro-family, pro-traditional family values….believes in the strict construction of the Constitution. This has got to be the best rope-a-dope played on Obama that I’ve ever seen in recent politics. While the Obama campaign was readying their darts for Romney or Pawlenty out of right field comes this pick this morning that just sucked all the air out of the room and no one is talking about this great speech that occurred. John McCain withstood five years in the Hanoi Hilton with his captors. He knows a thing or two about dealing with adversity. Go get’em Senator McCain and man are we ever proud of your your selection of Governor Palin….who by the way has a real resume. As the CEO of Alaska, she is the community organizer for an entire state and commander in chief of the Alaska State Guard. Obama played safe with an insider….an old grey haired guy with bad hair plugs. Where’s the change? Where’s the beef? Obama just handed the election to the Republicans. We are energized, excited and ready to go to battle to take our country back to it’s original roots…..freedom, independence and honor. That’s what McCain/Palin will bring to this country. And yes, Governor Palin will be ready should the time come, to step into the big shoes and be the first female president of the United States. President Palin….doesn’t that have an awesome ring to it? Music to my ears. God bless them. May he grant them courage, wisdom and fortitude for the battle which lies ahead in the next two months. Satan and his minions will throw everything at them. Move-on.org will do everything they can with their Soros millions to influence this election, but to no avail. Right will triumph. America has found it’s Margaret Thatcher in Sarah Palin. Now, with that said, let’s win this race and get Washington cleaned up and stop wasteful spending of our precious dollars and drill here, drill now and pay less. God bless McCain/Palin and God bless the United States of America. Let’s make our Founding Fathers and Mothers proud!! Uurah! Semper Fi.

Awesome choice McCain! Obama can never compete with this because he rejected a woman while you reached out to one. Way to go! I hope all of the women in this country realize you are the candidate that supports women's success as opposed to your rival!
Ceilia - 18 years ago
I consider myself an Independent and vote for the candidate who shares my same beliefs. I have voted Republican since Bill Clinton ran for President (and I lived in Arkansas at that time). I have not been happy with McCain, but definitely could not vote for the current Democratic platform and I most definitely would not vote for Barak Hussein Obama. I have been sick of spirit, worrying about who McCain would choose for VP. I'm embarassed to admit, but I actually cried this morning when I heard McCain had chosen Sarah Palin as his VP running mate and what she stood for. I am actually looking forward to voting this year and am feeling quite optimistic of the outcome. May God continue to bless this nation.
James Milton - 18 years ago
Palin is a gimmick and some people are falling for it. Palin has less experience than Obama. It seems that the American GOP are falling like sheep to a slaughter over a woman candidate. Not Every Woman Vice President will support Women's Rights.
NOW PAC Chair Kim Gandy said, Sen. John McCain's choice of Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate is a cynical effort to appeal to disappointed Hillary Clinton voters and get them to vote, ultimately, against their own self-interest. Hillary Clinton was our first choice, and that of 18 million primary voters, but Barack Obama's pick, Joe Biden, is a friend of women and a strong selection for Vice President.
H Haynie - 18 years ago
I am a consertaive & I was totally opposed to a woman as VP. After listening to Sarah, I am convinced she can function as a competent VP or as our President. If Bill Clinton can fool the American public for two terms, she can honestly & with certaint y perform above his level with both her hands tied behind her. She is ready to take on the job of VP. Go Mom.

I got chills when I heard Palins speech. I am so excited for the election. My husband is in the Military and I am a Nurse, we have five children and are sports parents. Just an everyday family who wants someone in office to represent us, an American famly. I truly believe that McCain/Palin are the candidates who I want representing us. I also believe that when they are elected, we will see so many good changes in the next four years. I am excited for the future for not only my husband and I, but also for our children.

I began this political season in March a bit skeptical... I was thinking to myself that the Republican ticket was going to end up looking a lot like the Dole/Kemp ticket. Same old same old with no energy. McCain has pleasantly surprised me at every turn. His campaign has been spontaneous, pointed and on message. They have out manuevered the Obama team. His VP selection has solidified his position as a reformer and guaranteed his election to the office of President. My initial assessent could not have been more wrong. I am amazed by McCain's political savvy and his VP selection has made me a believer.
Obama does not stand a chance.

I'm not a Jesus Freak, don't really go to church much, but I just know who to go to when I (we) need help. And boy do we as a Nation need it. McCain, being a zonie for 38 yrs, really does care about our Country.....always has. Now shows up with a young whipper snapper, do-gooder and a female........Right On. For all the characteristics that the Governor from Alaska possesses, I am sure that she will do her homework well with the many months between now and January 20, and will be ready to stand in for President McCain if needs by at any time thereafter.. I'd rather have foreign policy in the hands of a person with such character, who has already made tough decisions , than a person who we will have to find out about later, when it is too late.

It can't be a fluke if so many people have had the same overwhelmingly positive response to the Sarah Palin nomination that I did! She is the real deal and until today I had no idea I could feel quite so pumped up about this election! There's hope for us all yet. McCain/Palin must win! I will be praying every day for the next 66 days that the republican ticket wins the election.

I read yesterday that Obama may not actually be a natural born citizen of the U.S., that he was actually born in Kenya, and has a forged Hawaii birth certificate. If this is so, he is not eligible to run for the office of President. What is the truth?

McCain supporter I have had great concern who will be his VP. Earlier this morning the name Sarah Palin, my immediate reaction, "who is she". It did not take long listening to her; accomplishments, honorable character and accolades from others, I was elated. My understanding of VP's, usually a quiet office. I do not think so with SP in office. May God bless them and our country.

To date I have not been excited about this election, the last two elections I have voted against someone instead of voting for someone. This time it is different. I am truly excited about the McCain and Palin ticket. We have two people who have never gone with just the status quo. I have been frustrated that the government does not seem to really care about joe average, the pelosi/reed congress has done nothing but slow role everything hoping that the next election would be a democratic win. Sorry bad plan

John McCain is a true American with great ethics and morals, an upstanding man with integrity, rare to find in our government today! So I am not surprised that a man of his moral standards picked such a wonderful woman as Gov. Palin as his running mate. Her speech was refreshing. She is a genuine woman who truly cares for all Americans who are struggling in this economy. This team gives us hope for our future. It is proud time for women and our country. Thank you John McCain for picking a perfect running mate who is not afraid to fight for the American people! God Bless !

I am so thrilled that John picked Sarah!!! Im glad to see that Cindy McCain is sooo sooo into her husband and she will be a beautiful whitehouse lady!! I think Sarah and Cindy will be friends when they each have time as they are both into helping other and I have no doubt that this is truly a dream ticket!! would be voting for them and if I could vote 100 times I would do it and I believe in GOD and country and McCain'sand Palin's will make a great team!! I will thank God everyday for this team that I know God is smiling on:)

Although I have historically voted Republican, I do not consider myself a Republican. I consider myself a conservative. I grew up on a farm and learned that anyone can do anything through hard work and application of the talents that God gave you. I do not know much about Gov. Palin, but I am intrigued by her story and her accomplishments. I am very happy that John McCain picked a running mate outside the mainstream. I am surprised that Democrats were not smarter than to attempt to belittle her accomplishments and service. We are now hearing that some cannot believe he picked her without more face-to-face meetings with her. Using that logic, I guess the majority of America should not vote to select any of the candidates, because I don’t know about the rest of the voting public, but I have not met any of the candidates face-to-face once! Since I intend to vote, I think I will review their records and what they stand for and then cast my vote!

I watched in eagerness to see who the VP choice was. I was so excited before McCain even showed up, just listening to what Fox was telling about Susan Palin. She is everything there is to be wanted - a super choice. My decision on voting for any candidate, local or national is their view on abortion, and with her on the ticket makes me feel like the choice I am making in voting for McCain/Palin is sincere. I was a little leery of his selection for VP before today, even though I was going to vote for McCain, just because he was the better candidate, but with her on the ticket I don't feel that way now. Way to go, my vote is for McCain/Palin.

Dissappointed that fmr. Gov. Mit Romney was not choosen but in a very short time after listening to Gov. Pelin's acceptance speech and some very smart folks such as Shawn Hannity, Dick Morrison, Glen Beck and some guests on their shows, I became in awe of her accomplishments and I totally disagree with Sen. Obarma's responce saying " more of the same " quite the contrary, when folks listen to the debates and also to people who know her from both parties, learn who she is, what she stands for and what she has accomplished they will soon see that she is exactly who we need in the White House. Gov Pelin is so far from being referred to as " one of the good old boys " or " more of the same " that it will become evident in very short time. Sen. Obarma should think before he talks, he chose for his running mate, a more of the same " good ole boy".

It's not about the PARTY, it's about the people..18 million who clearly wanted Senator Hillary Clinton and were treated as if they were spoiled children..now, now..OBAMA is the one!! Tsk, Tsk,Tsk
As a highly educated, six figure salary female as are many of my friends, including male, Senator Clinton will always be our HERO!!!.
McCain - Sarah Palin, yeah, we're good. And maybe it was all politics, but I suspect her acknowledgement of Senator Ferraro and Senator Clinton was genuine ...she has our respect and VOTE!!!

Congratulations Sarah Palin. The economy of Alaska has just been donated a tremendous economic boost. You will receive thousands if not millions of visitors as well as thousands of entrepeneurs that will capitalize the gift McCain has just given you. Brilliant move for McCain, Extraordinary Choice, Phenominal Partner to lead this Nation through a very difficult time in history.
I feel good that we will survive and see "all" of us prosper for the next 8 YEARS!

I saw Sarah Palin on Glen Bech a few months ago and thought "Man, I wish SHE was running for president". I am not impressed with McCain but I was going to vote for him because I didn't want to see a man get the presidency who's mother was a Marksist and his grandparents were American Comunist Party members and he belonged to a church that has a "non-negotioable commitment to Africa". Now I have a good reason to vote for McCain and I am glad to vote Republican.
Walt - 18 years ago
I have to be up front and say I would not vote for Obama if he was running unopposed. Not because he is black, I would have voted for Cloin Powell in a heart beat. Obama is everything I despise in a politician. He says he is going to bring about change but never says how. He talks about a program of energy independence that will cost 150 BILLION DOLLARS and does not say how he is going to pay for it, of course we know, WE WILL, IN HIGHER TAXES. McCain just showed how dedicated to change he really is. Gov. Palin is the real deal. She has guts, integrity, and intelligence. These are 3 qualities that Nancy Pelosi, Barbera Boxer and Harry Reid sorely lack. I wonder if her majesty, OPRAH, will have the guts to have her on her show. I am extremely proud to say I support McCain and now Palin.

Way to go McCain! You just got my check and more importantly, you just got my vote! What a courageous and remarkable "choice" for VP.

As a former resident of Alaska (some say once an Alaskan always an Alaskan), and a graduate of the US Naval Academy (at about the same graduating level as McCain---I wasn't quite a maverick as he, but I got lots of demerits---good student but for some reason was target to get me out) I am thoroughly enthralled by this choice. At last we will have resolute and honest leadership in Washington. This assures the donkey party will lose. Now if us Californians can only get rid of Pelosi, Boxer, and Feinstein we might have reasonable representation. BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA AND THE SOCIALIST PINKOS LOSE!

Not only will this be a huge draw for Democratic women, but a huge draw for Republican women. Governor Sara Palan has made this race interesting and has breathed new life into the Republican ticket! She stands for the moral foundations that this country was built on. She has a strong beliefe in life, in the sacntatiy of marriage, in the right to bare arms, in the responsible opeing of ANWARE, and she supports our troups. She is not just a women, but the right women with devotion for the people.

What an awesome VP choice of John McCain!! Gov. Palin will bring not only leadership experience but also will bring something to benefit everyone. She manages her home, family, politics, and does not sway from her morals. I think that God has put Gov. Palin in this race to lead the country back to the morals in which it was founded. Her high energy level is an asset. It seems that she is what this country has been waiting on--someone who is not afraid to stand up and take action for what she thinks is the right thing to do. The feeling of just "blah same ol'" politics went away when I turned the TV channel and heard Gov. Palin speak. I became energized just listening to her. It makes me want to get involved doing more for my town. What an inspiration!!
Go McCain and Palin--the next president and vice-president of the United States!!!!!!!!
Sara Shortes - 18 years ago
So far the only comment I've heard in real oppoision to Sarah Palin is that she does not have enough experience. The democratic party has been in the business of discrimating against women for a long long time. Their should be a cry of discrimanation from the women in the democratic party because of what was done to Clinton. Now the talking heads think they can make points against the Republican VP pick by stating that there is a lack of experience. What about the lack of experience Bill Clinton had and now the lack of experience Obama has. Sarah Palin has worked as a very stron and productive Govener for the state of Alaska and at the same time given birth. Now that's something none of these men have done! Hat's off to strong productive women (no pun intended) and hat's off to Palin!!!
If one could only look at her record in Alaska and not know her gender I wonder if there would be as much being brought up about experience.
I wish her all the best.
Steve Parker - 18 years ago
She is experienced, is genuine, and a woman of convictions! And she has accomplishments that can be documented. That's a whole lot more than you can say for Barak! I'm impressed with Sen. McCain's VP pick, and think the entire country should be impressed!! She's a sportswoman, comes from a working class background, is honest, and is someone all of America can be proud of. What an inspiring choice! Obama talks about change in the abstract but she's done it! I think the Republicans have the winning ticket. NOBAMA, No way, no how!!!
Susan - 18 years ago
Man! This has me excited about this election now. I had never heard of Sarah Palin before today but as soon as she was announced to be the VP pick, I started researching her credentials. I like everything I found out about her. This is a woman of integrity and deep convictions. She's devoted to her husband, is raising five children, and managing the largest state in the USA. She has battled corruption and served the people instead of herself and recieves an 80% approval rating. As far as I'm concerned anyone who can accomplish what she has while raising 5 children, certainly has the experience to handle the childishness that takes place in Washington where politicians act like immature teenagers at a frat party. I just happen to be reading 1 Timothy 6 this morning when her name was announced. It sounds like she pretty much fullfills the charge "to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness and to fight the good fight of faith." Today I made a donation to a presidential candidate for the first time in 40 years of voting experience and signed up on the John McCain 2008 website to volunteer. I will do whatever I can to support the McCain/Palin ticket.

I was in Dayton today with my husband and 13 year old daughter. I had heard that Sarah Palin was on the short list as McCain's V.P. I had done some research on her qualifications and experience and thought she would be a great asset to McCain. We traveled the two hours to Dayton and stood in line at security for another hour to see this historic announcement. Many blog sites stated that McCain would be unable to fill 10,000 seats. He not only filled them, the crowd swelled beyond the seats and into the hallways of the Nutter Center. When McCain announced Sarah Palin as his V.P. candidate I was overwhelmed with emotion. And to be present with my daughter made me proud to be a mother, a woman, an american. Her speech was intelligent, honest, hearfelt and moving. Good job Sarah Palin, great job John McCain.

I couldn't be more proud! This was the best possible move for John McCain. Very smart choice, she is a winner!! She is smart and isn't afraid to go against the grain (just like McCain) when it is truly the right thing to do. The American people know that McCain/Palin is the right choice/vote in November.

After posting my previous comment I enjoyed reading all of the comments. We are embarking on REFORM in our president and vice president choices when we vote for McCAIN & PALIN. Obama keeps using against McCain, "4 more years of the same".........well McCain just proved that we are not going to have SAME or Obama's CHANGE (Biden is SAME)........... I hope McCain strikes back on the fact that it definitely won't be 4 more years of Bush. Please coin the word REFORM..............

So Greta! Are you going to spend as much time at the Republican Convention as you did at the Democrat Convention? It would be nice to see you cover both parties with the same unbiased coverage!

Thank you, Lord

You Dems will have to do a lot more digging on Palin besides the issue with her sister and brother-in-law. This pales in comparison to Obama's ties to terrorist friends like Ayers and his $300,000 "credit" he got on the financing of his mansion in Chicago. Obama does not know the definition of the word "ethical." Keep digging you Dems - as all you will do is further allienate women in general!!

This news of Gov. Sarah Palin as the VP candidate is awesome. I commend Senator McCain for going beyond those who were the most likely candidates. With Gov. Palin and Senator McCain, the next four years will definitely not be more of the same!!!! This team will bring the best change...VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN!
Judy - 18 years ago
Oh yeah..wait until the lowdown on Obama's terrorist buddies start coming out. From what I've been reading it's going to be something big. I couldn't rely on McCain to step up to the mike and fire one across the bow but I can rely on this smart cookie to do it.
John Phelan - 18 years ago
John McCain just did the unimaginable-turned back the second coming!
What an incredible pick. Governor Palin has solidified my heretofore tempid endorsement of Senator McCain. I will now donate as much as I can and contribute my time to "change" we can trust! BRAVO!!!
This Election has just Come Alive for me! I don't think I have ever felt such exhilaration over an election! I am so excited about Sarah Palin
as Mccains choice for his Vice Presidential running mate!
I have been distressed over this election since it began... Not so anymore! There is no doubt who has my vote; not just because Sarah Palin is a woman; but a woman who is self-confident and has proven
she has the fire and energy to stand up and fight for what she believes in and what is right for the people that elected her!
I am dancing in my living room tonight! I truly believe the balance of Mccain and Palin is what this Country has needed for a very long time! Woo hoo!

For those who were unsure if McCain would make good choices as president, today removed all doubt. His choice for a running mate proves he has what it takes to be a great leader.

If the Democratic Party were so concerned about experience, they should never have run Hillary Clinton out of the race. You reap what you sow.

Greta,
i want you to get Sarah to go one on one against O'soma i mean O'boma in basketball. I bet she would clean his clock just like she will in the election!

I have been a Republican for many years and this election was one I wasn't looking forward to voting until today! I had not heard much about Governor Palin, but I listened to her speech today and was blown away.... This is one very smart, wife, mother, business worman and elected servant of the people. I am so excited after hearing her and all she has done with her life so far. As a wife, working mother, business woman for the past 40 years, it is so exciting to me to see a woman that is a"lady" and a smart politican too. I will be thrilled to vote McCain/Palin ticket in November!!!!!!!! I was so worried about our country, but thank God a real fine choice other than OHB/JB!!! The presidency is not a place to get "on the job training". Sarah has more experience in business, governering and making decisions than OHB has in his whole life........... GO GOP!!!!!!!!!!
Aimee - 18 years ago
HOME RUN....better yet...GRAND SLAM....I was surprised by his choice, but I think it was brilliant! P.S. My opinion has nothing to do with her gender, but everything to do with her character and willingness to fight for the people who elected her. Way to go McCain!!
paula - 18 years ago
I am so greatful for McCain's choice. Sarah Palin is just what our sad country needs at a time when we have sunk to such a low level. It is not Pres. Bush who, in my opinion, has caused the problems in our country, it is the greed and low morals of the 545 that have governed and not done so for the right reasons which Sarah Palin recognizes. She is the salt of the earth and I could not be happier. I am thankful also, for Cindy McCain, a true lady for the White House as Laura Bush has been. May God Bless each of you and your families.
Vickie - 18 years ago
I also wanted to add. I spoke to 2 women today that I just met. One in the nail salon, she said, I cannot believe he picked her! The woman has no experience and noone has ever heard of her. I replied, so what, she is running for VP, unlike Obama, the unknown & inexperienced running for President. I left that lady speechless.
The second lady was pushing a grocery car next to me and talking on her cell phone in the grocery store. I do not usually listen to other people's phone conversation, but this time I could not help it. The lady on the cell phone stated, "I was so excited when I heard, finally I can vote! I have been so worried, wondering what I was gonna do in November! Now we have her!"
I am so proud to say, I am a Republican!!!!
PK - 18 years ago
What a great choice for vp!! She will be a great asset to our party and what we need to clean up some of the corruption in government and senseless spending. Nancy Pelosi has to go! Obama needs to watch out for that old foot in mouth when it come to experience. We all know he went with Biden because he doesn't have the know how. God Bless McCain and Palin and God Bless America!
John McCain could have looked the world over and not found a better choice.
I had never heard of her until today, but I think after listening to her speech that she is one smart lady. More power to her, My wish is that she takes on the crooks in Washington. I would like to thank God for McCain and for Sarah
Palin. I feel as though she understands our needs.
McCain / Palin can revitalize the economy and give us dollars back. Obama, keep the change!
Lisa - 18 years ago
I saw Sarah speak today and donated money to the campaign an hour after the new conference. SHE ROCKS! A welcomed breath of fresh air. I will be voting Republican this Nov 4th. Shatter that ceiling for all of us Sarah...a great pick for VP!
Judy Pierorazio - 18 years ago
WOW! As a registered republican, I wasn't even going to vote but I am now. I thought the republican party had no brains or b*lls anymore. I can't wait to see her take on Biden. I wish she was going to debate Obama. Let McCain stand back let her ROLL!!!
Hilary - 18 years ago
I share Hilary's first name, passion and desire but though I am a Democrat it is now the first time I will cross party lines and vote Republican. After watching and learning about Sarah today I actually prefer her for President above any candidate. What a great choice. It's past time for a women in Washington and I a glad it will now happen even if my party could not deliver it which it should have. I can also see how she will captivate America much more than Hilary.
Bill - 18 years ago
I am a male democrat from PA and am voting for John and Sarah!!!
Polly - 18 years ago
I am giddy with excitement. What a great choice for VP. If they (dems) don't get it now they will never get it. I have to bring up the line in obamas speech about the poor soldier that re-enlisted after losing his leg???? sorry...No matter what he wanted he would not be able to re-enlist. I can't even fathom why he brought it up...what was the gain there? I have a question though.???? My understanding of an AFRICAN AMERICAN is a decendent of a SLAVE CAPTURED IN AFRICA AND ENSLAVED IN AMERICA. Am I wrong? If this is true and this title is truely deserved then why aren't the true AFRICAN AMERICANS calling a spade a spade to be blunt. Obama aint no AFRICAN AMERICAN. He's more Arib than Afric. So now it doesn't matter cause McCain/Palin will WIN!!!!!! Yippee, yahoo, yeeehaw.
msnbc is already jumping on Palin with a "coverup" story. disgusting.
Don't let the depressing media get to ANY of you. They have a vested interest in selling depressing news so they will do everything they can to denounce Mrs. Vice-President Palin. You Go, Girl! uh huh!
I am so ecstatic about McCain's decision for VP. I think that Obama is done for sure now. I can hardly wait to get busy helping to get this dynamic dueo elected!
Wow! Palin is a REAL PERSON! She will be our next VP and, no doubt, She Will Be PRESIDENT. I'm very impressed with John McCain's decision and proud of our system.
John McCain hit two Grand Slams in one inning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pelosi just became a very bad memory. Sarah Palin has more honesty and integrity then Pelosi ever thought about. It is up too us the people to clean up the House of Reps. If your congress person didn't do their job, throw them out and find someone who will. It is a new day.
All I can say is WOW....today I was elated beyond words and finally know my vote as a Republican will now be what I was hoping for in the beginning....to get back to the values and beliefs this great country was based on. Obama who.....change......most surely will come to those who wait!!!
GRRREEEEAAAAATTTTT! Choice! What an Ace in the hole. I was losing confidence with John Mc Cain campain. Integrity is the number one issue for me and my family. Go Governor Palin you have the character and integrity to shine.
McCain made an excellent choice for his vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin (AK). It goes to show that republicans know how to pick them just like our President Bush with having Condelezza Rice in his cabinet!
Fred Givler
I'm so Grateful to the Lord, I just keep praying for America. And he keeps delivering. What Mercy..after what we've done. Keep praying for the best person for us to have as a Leader!
S Hope LHC AZ
Senator McCain could not have found a morally stronger, more influential leader than Gov. Palin to be on his team! What an incredibly savvy decision...excellent judgment for an old guy!
Amen.
Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME! I WILL VOTE TOMORROW IF FLORIDA WILL LET ME. NOW, I AM ALIVE!
Palin is a much neede breath of fresh air.....love Palin....What a brilliant choice the McCain has made as his first decision as Commander and Chief......
In a debate I think She will walk all over biden and his long life in the Senate.
Skipper John/ Shipmate /Senator/Patriot,
Jumpin Jehosaphats Captain, today's "Alpha Strike" was right on target!!!!
"OK -3" Shipmate .
Again, "58 Is Great"!. Your gutsy and wise choice of GOV SARAH PALIN is refreshing, inspiring, and damned exciting. Now, lets Get the USS Straight Talk Express fully "into the wind" and underway with ship's work. GOOD ON YOU, and may God bless you, Gov Sarah and our great Nation.
The next title I plan to address you as will be ... MR PRESIDENT !
Deadheads for McCain/Palin.......if I were still alive I would be singing and strumming, "you know my love will not fade away"...go sarah!
I say we go to the polls right now!
It is time the Republican Party leaders recognized it is the party of the common American worker, regardless of skin color, and no longer the party of the stuff-shirts who turn tail and run anytime a Liberal says Boo. The Party party is over for wimps.
GREAT CHOICE! Great wisdom shown by McCain.
Are all Democrats pessimists? They sure do whine a lot?
I also clapped at the TV today with tears in my eyes. Thank you Mack for your wisdom in picking Sara. God Bless you and God Bless America. Maggie
The DEMS didn't get it. Do they really think Hillary Supporters were just going to fall in...we don't want or like OBAMA, don't believe him, don't trust him and were NEVER going to vote for him.
Are all Democrats pessimists? They sure do whine a lot?
What??? This woman a heartbeat from being the leader of the free world??? Just when you think it can't get any better! Woo Hoo!
Please coin the word REFORM..............
great pic plus she is hot
Oh yeah..wait until the lowdown on Obama's terrorist buddies start coming out. From what I've been reading it's going to be something big. I couldn't rely on McCain to step up to the mike and fire one across the bow but I can rely on this smart cookie to do it.

Finally - Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington!!! Thank you John:)
HOME RUN....better yet...GRAND SLAM....I was surprised by his choice, but I think it was brilliant! P.S. My opinion has nothing to do with her gender, but everything to do with her character and willingness to fight for the people who elected her. Way to go McCain!!
I saw Sarah speak today and donated money to the campaign an hour after the new conference. SHE ROCKS! A welcomed breath of fresh air. I will be voting Republican this Nov 4th. Shatter that ceiling for all of us Sarah...a great pick for VP!
WOW! As a registered republican, I wasn't even going to vote but I am now. I thought the republican party had no brains or b*lls anymore. I can't wait to see her take on Biden. I wish she was going to debate Obama. Let McCain stand back let her ROLL!!!
I am a male democrat from PA and am voting for John and Sarah!!!
