Forgot to add: and yes she is a fabulous speaker and definitively a BIG asset to any campaign AND as a VP in the White House! it is laughable to hear the dems reaction! she is actually a REAL person unlike the foany on the other side!

Personally I was NOT impressed by Obama's speach ... same old reterick and talking points .... I always listen to what the other party is doing .... keep informed.

  • Adam - 18 years ago

What A Great Choice!! By By Obammabada!

  • Eric Smith - 18 years ago

Wow, Sarah Palin what a blessing! We elect this ticket and we can begin to get rid of all the Washington DC corruption and immorality. As usual, the Lord is answering our prayers.

  • Ray Mayer - 18 years ago

Wow! What a stroke of genius on how to excite people. Governor Palin represents, I believe, what is needed to restore direction to the Republican Party. People didn't leave the Republicans because they were conservatives, they left because they became typical big government and corrupt. She is real and seems to express what she believes without worry about which way the wind blows. A nice compliment to straight talking John McCain.
I wasn't excited before but this pick makes me believe that there is still hope that real change can come to Washington. We now have a ticket that walks the walk as opposed to the Democrats who obfuscate and only talk the talk.

  • Pauline - 18 years ago

Gov. Sarah Palin is absolutely the best choice Sen. McCain could have made! I was hoping and praying that he would pick a QUALIFIED woman and here she is. This is the 12th presidential election in my lifetime and I am truly excited and cannot wait to cast my vote for the McCain/Palin ticket!

  • Judy - 18 years ago

Now there is real hope for positive change; Gov. Palin is the perfect running mate for McCain.

  • Debbie Zanot - 18 years ago

Thank You John McCain. Sarah Palin is a breathe of fresh air. This "bitter bible and gun tottin' Pennsylvanian can get behind you now with Sarah, a woman who is beautiful, intelligent and has true grit as your running mate. You Go John and Sarah!!! Kick Butt!!!

  • Andy - 18 years ago

Articulate, Smart, Sincere, Honest, and Genuine. Yep, people like Sarah Palin don't serve too often because politics doesn't reward the qualities most of us admire.
McCain couldn't have picked a better running-mate, sounding board, advisor, and advocate for real Americans. Please move this treasure from the Great White North into the White House in November.
Governor Palin, thank you for stepping up when the country called. This is the first time I've been optimistic as a Republican in a very long time.

  • Vivian - 18 years ago

As an older woman, who wanted to see Romney selected for VP candidate, I am very excited about the choice of picking Gov. Palin to run with McCain. I have felt all along that the Republicans would be able to present a winning ticket when others around me were so skeptical of the whole Presidental campaign with both parties.

  • Rebecca Yale - 18 years ago

Awesome Pick! Mac & Pal all the way to the White House! Now is the time for common sense and politics to collide.

  • Sunny - 18 years ago

Sarah Palin has thoroughly impressed me. For the first time, I feel that I will be voting For the republicans, rather than just against Obama. I am proud of McCain for selecting a female VP candidate, but her merits stand alone. She's an amazing individual.

When the black muslim threw hillary under the bus he sealed his doom.
    THANK GOD!!

  • saintsreport - 18 years ago

Palin is a solid choice. While the Obama Yippee Network (aka MSNBC) is trying to criticize her experience, the selection draws sharp attention to Obama's own thin resume. Palin has a record of accomplishment, experience in an executive position, heads the Alaska National Guard and leads a key energy state. Obama has... uh... well... uh.. he gives a good speech, was an unsuccessful community organizer, a part-time law instructor, a unremarkable civil rights lawyer, an unaccomplished state senator and immediately prepared to run for president as soon as he got to the U.S. Senate, another place he has failed to make a significant mark of accomplishment. Go ahead Democrats, focus on Palin's experience.

Had McCain named someone like Romney, it would have been a 5 minute blurb on the news. With Palin's selection, Obama's acceptance speech is yesterday's news and an afterthought. All of the news programs are focused on the choice of Palin, instead of the hope of change hoping for the change of hope. McCain's campaign will be about issues like energy and security, while Obama's will be about platitudes and his cult of personality.

  • andy kalajian - 18 years ago

Did you see the HBO Movie, "John Adams"? Sarah Palin is as tough, and gutsy,
as Abigail Adams! She is a Patriot!

  • Stacy - 18 years ago

I have been a long supporter and blogger for Palin. I am more than excited to support this ticket. Without a doubt, it is history in the making. I just hope that all of the excitment above leads to donations to the campaign. Only a few more days until John McCain must take public financing.

  • Jim Parker - 18 years ago

Talk about hitting one out of the park!! Women make up 52% of voters.
Here is a smart, articulate GOOD person! Get ready for her inauguration!!

  • Richard Hoover - 18 years ago

Finally a real person running for national office. She reminds me of the women that I know and it will be a privelege to vote for her and a real american hero, John McCain.

  • Christine - 18 years ago

I was undecided until McCain picked Sarah this morning! Former Huckabee supporter who was not totally comfortable with McCain. Sarah was always my second choice behind Mike and i would not have voted for McCain had he selected Lieberman or Romney..so i am estatic at the pick of Sarah Palin, she is the total package and breath of fresh air that conservatives have been needing. A total Slam Dunk!

  • maria - 18 years ago

I wasn't going to vote... until today! Dayton is my Home and I thougt a tornado hit Dayton today!!! I cry listen to her. John McCain hit a home Run!!!!!!

  • Tim - 18 years ago

I never voted for a Republican. This 2008 election I will vote Republican. This ticket is the best I have ever seen! Thank you, John McCain!

  • Dr. Ann - 18 years ago

Obama had a "dream" and now he's got a nightmare. He bypassed Senator Clinton and he has been out maneuvered by McCain! Way to go!

  • Gemma - 18 years ago

I'm thrilled! She sounds tough and determined, not a pushover and not a whiner! Good for McCain. They have my vote!

  • Sony - 18 years ago

Wow ! I beleive McCains has displayed true grit and courage with his choice. I'm very pleased and excited that Palin is on the ticket. Today will go down in our history. Thank you McCain for such an impressive move.

  • Wendy House in NC - 18 years ago

I waited today and was in a crowd of mixed blacks and whites watching Fox News when McCain announced Sarah as the VP. It was wonderful. My government office phone started ringing and emails started coming in after the word was circulated. The comments were outstanding. When Iarrived home I have 2 sisters that called me. These sisters had decided not to vote at all but they were excited about Sarah.

This is wonderful for the Republican Party. I had been betting on Huckabee but I think this will even be more exciting and of course making history. I hope this really bears heavy on Obama because of his choice of a VP. Hillary should've been the VP.

I am and will continue to canvas voters for McCain and in the process be very proud of the choice he made.

By the way Greta, I am a long time watcher of your program and I love Fox News, my TV stays turned on with the Fox News.

    Regards

    Wendy

How can we dismiss John McCain? Senator Palin is a true politician and a perfect pick for the republicain party. Lets face the facts - John McCain is NOT George Bush and his experience will lead us to a new America. Senator Palin is the Hillary we are looking for without the hidden agenda's and fake face that scares the American public. Bill was his own president, both good and bad - we need to focus on a leader and a true supporter of making the proper legislation we all need. Russia, Iran and the middle-east is not afraid to the Barack-Me-Baby "let's talk" approach. I'm sorry!

  • Barbara Loker in Lemoore California! - 18 years ago

Great choice. As a Republican who use to be a Democrat, this selection of Gov. Palin was a shot of hope. I am impressed by her work ethic, morals, and character. She walks the walk! She is what politics should be about...serving the people!! I am excited and proud to cast my vote for McCain and Palin in November!!

  • Jacqui - 18 years ago

    This is the right woman!!!

  • Larry N. - 18 years ago

What a breath of fresh air to witnes a wonderful woman/politician that we can trust and relate to. I've had it with the Princeton/Harvard Communist/Marxist background politian named Obama. He's the person that has absolutely no qualifications to be President and he doesn't have a clue as to what middle America is about.

Fantastic !! She is proving that there is no need to come from a place that has so many folks, one does not know their next door neighbor !!
Ya gotta luv small town folks!!!!
    Way to go John !!!!

  • Sis - 18 years ago

Awesome, this is a wonderful choice for VP with Sen. John McCain! I was thrilled to think that we have this outstanding choice of a honorable, strong woman!!! This has made my vote for John McCain strong! I am so PROUD of Gov. Sarah Palin, this is so awesome that we have a woman VP that has strong convictions and yet is beautiful with her family by her side!!!! What a great choice!!!

  • Roscoe - 18 years ago

I am a 47 year old proud male republican today. This choice brought tears to my eyes and I am convinced that she is the future of our Republican party. I am proud of Senator MCCain for making this difficult choice. It just shows that he is truly ready to make big decisions for this country going forward.

  • Sandra Saavedra - 18 years ago

I woke up this morning to the news and finally it is NOT politics as usual!! Great choice for VP and I look forward to voting come November. McCain & Palin have my vote. She is not the typical politician from what I have seen and heard so far.

  • Carolyn Yackey - 18 years ago

I feel alive for the first time in 10 years! This is history in the making!
    Carolyn Yackey, a Republican woman!

  • KMC - 18 years ago

I'm an "Independent" woman who is a registered Democrat in Maryland. McCain's pick has solidified my decision to vote for him. Palin is fantastic! McCain is brilliant! McCain's choice shows his courage, insight, and good taste. I feel real hope now that things are going to change!

  • Jerry - 18 years ago

McCain made a fantastic choice! Governor Sarah Palin is well spoken and a breath of fresh air instead of the same old same old politicians!

  • Jane - 18 years ago

There are not enough words in the English language to explain the excitement I feel about her. She's a HUMAN, not a political machine. She's bright, capable and HONEST. What a combination to send to DC.
John McCain just hit the ball out of the ball park......... this is a proud moment for women around the world, not just here in the US.
Honest and Human, Wow........... what a novel approach to politics.

  • sally - 18 years ago

After watching the DNC, I was leaning towards voting for Obama/Biden.

Then, I saw the ads that McCain made congratulating Obama. It seemed most gracious and gentlemanly on McCain's part. I saw no such ads comig from the Obama camp ( will they?).

Driving home, I heard tha McCain had picked a WOMAN to be V.P . Shades of Mondale/Ferraro, except this is on the REPUBLICAN side!!!! Double shock. And, to boot, it was Sarah Palin, someone that I've been reading about with GREAT interest, not too long ago. O.K., I disagree with her about the pro-choice issue, but she does seem to be honest, gracious (gave Ferraro and Hillary their due), took on the corruptness in her OWN party and prevailed. and, as a mother of a child that has Special Needs and a Special Education teacher, I applaud her decision to NOT end the life of her child. Contradictory, I know, but she decided to have the child in spite of knowing that he wasn't going to be born "perfect". Palin COULD have decided otherwise, which speaks to me of toughness and compassion for those less fortunate. Definitely a PLUS for the Republican ticket. I'll be watching ALL of the debates with GREAT interest. What a campaign this is turning into! How exciting to be part of this era we're in, all of this history being made.

Palin appears to have integrity, is honest, speaks well, and has accomplished quite a bit- wife, mother, politician, go getter. Almost a Superwoman- how does she DO IT? Tell me, tell me....

  • Lynn - 18 years ago

What a extraordinary choice! I was going to vote for McCain anyway, but this is like the whip cream on the cake! McCain just nailed it! Way to go John!

  • Stephen Kidd - 18 years ago

While working at the local republican hq in NC we had numerous ladies including democrats and indepents come in looking for McCain yard signs and bumper stickers. Several of them admitted the Palin pick was the reason for their interest.

  • Wendy - 18 years ago

I will be voting Republican for the first time in my life!

  • Dianne Duncan - 18 years ago

YES!!!! I agree with Corinne above, and couldn't have said it any better myself!
She is brainy, beautiful, a wife, a mother, daughter of teachers, wife of a union man. She may have only lead a town of 9,000 but it's 9,000 more than Obama. Diogyenes can finally turn out his light; forget finding an honest man, he found an honest WOMAN!

Mr. Colmes had a mouthful of SOUR GRAPES tonight...I guess only a LIBERAL woman is cause for celebration!

God Bless MCCAIN / Palin 2008!

  • Julie Hartigan - 18 years ago

    I am a woman.
I am a woman union member.
I am a woman union member that was hurt by an abortion.
I am a woman union member that was hurt by an abortion in which caused destruction in my life.

I cannot possibly vote for anyone that will not put an end to abortion in America.

Thank you to congress for pro-life legislation.

My wife and I were so excited about the Palin pick that we contributed for the first time today to a Presidential campaign. John McCain just won our respect and our vote. A male American hero picks a female American hero who's son is serving in the Army and being deploye to Iraq on September 11th. My wife who is also a sharp business woman cried today when listening to Palin's speech.

  • hunter - Western PA - 18 years ago

P.S. I'm sure she shoots better than Cheney!

  • loisfucci - 18 years ago

HURRAH!!!!With his choice McCain has set the political campaign on its end.
Obama and what's his name will have to step lively in order to keep up with
the McCain team. Palin is a woman of integrity and honest character. She
has achieved her position through hard work and sincere conviction. She
will fight to get approval to drill in America and to explore all possible
sources of energy. This is a blue-collar lady who wears a black suit and
has the strength to deal with the big guys. She supports the President and
from what I've seen and heard--I support her. This choice has invigorated
the campaign and has reignited my interest. I wait to hear more about her
and her issue positions. This is a GREAT COUNTRY!

  • Bobbie Hensley - 18 years ago

Wow! A brilliant move by McCain. McCains' choosing of Sarah Palin will make this one of the most exciting elections we have experienced in a long time. Congratulations John McCain and Sarah Palin, you're just what the whole country needs.

  • Dennis Reddington - 18 years ago

    I'm impressed. Great choice!

  • Brad Russell - 18 years ago

I am excited and will gladly vote for this duo as they bring many of the same principles and values that I hold dear and what I think will be the breath of fresh air we so desperately need in our government today. This is an answer to prayer!

  • Teresa Mihaylov - 18 years ago

I wanted McCain to choose Huckabee as his running mate. I think he made the second best choice. I liked her speech very much.
    Watch out Obama!!

  • Plantation Florida - 18 years ago

I was sure McCain would pick Romney. I had no idea who Palin was but after hearing her and reading about her I have never been so excited about an election. WOW what a great choice!!! My husband, who will NEVER talk about politics actually called his democratic mom and told her he has never been interested in politics until he heard her speak, he even said he would be proud to put a sticker on the back of his truck!! He is a union plumber and really likes the fact her husband is in the union, and they are "regular" people

  • Bill - 18 years ago

Biden looks like a washed up has been angry old man next to Sara Palin. What a breath of fresh air. Obama looks like a restyled Politician's shell with the same old contents...

  • Richard Duncan - 18 years ago

Outstanding, brilliant selection. Interesting to see what the Obamunists try to do to her.

  • Linda - 18 years ago

Great job McCain!! It is wonderful to have a woman on the ticket. But regardless of being male or femalie, Palin has quite a resume. A history of forging ahead, standing her ground, getting things done and being very accomplished. All this and a mother of 5. I applaud her!!!!!!

  • Rick From Michigan - 18 years ago

Iwas a lifelong democrat but after Hillary was stabbed in the back I became an independent.I knew of Sarah Palin before today because of my wife . I will now vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. What a brilliant move by John McCain ,she seems like a real person who really has lived a "real" life.

  • Jan - 18 years ago

This Republican is FINALLY excited. Wonder where she stands on immigration.

  • Jennifer - 18 years ago

I beleive that for the first time in a long time that we have an honest, good person running for office! I have not felt this good concerning politics for a long time! She is AMERICA! She is what the UNITED STATES STANDS FOR! I wish she was running for President! MCCain has my vot 100%! HEY OBAMA......KEEP THE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!

  • T. W. Ivey - 18 years ago

    Great choice Senator McCain!
This surely means Bye Bye, Obama & 'what's his name?'

  • Evelyn - 18 years ago

I could not see or hear one thing I didn't like about Sarah Palin, these two has made a hit with me and I am sure they will with the rest of the USA, by the way I love the way Cindy's hair was fixed, she is so attractive.

  • Deb - 18 years ago

Best thing I heard all day! Excellent choice, when I walked into the office and told my co-workers....they all cheered!

  • Bob Carey - 18 years ago

Hey she's got 5 kids--if she can handle children maybe she can do something with congress>

  • Doug & Ladona - 18 years ago

At work we all stopped to listen to the announcement, WOW> that women is very awesome. she has 5 kids like us, all of the issues she addressed to day with out having to read a teleprompter. May be we should suspend the convention in Minnesota and send her to the hurricane area to get something done. I am glad to see someone like her in control. It is about time some stepped up and stated what her heart and caricature is all about. A REAL public servant, and some one who realizes what life is about! Maybe we will finally see government spending, ridiculous programs cut, and a government that is actually for the people of the USA. If she ran for President we will vote for her. She has four years to learn how to FIRE politicians that are acting like they are on the Minnesota welfare program. If she does not, please move to MN and curb our government spending. John M, made the wisest choice of his carrier.

  • Natalie - 18 years ago

Finally...a candidate that is REAL and has a proven record of taking on the established political structure and winning. Talk about change! It is extremely refreshing to see a candidate who is willing to stand up for what is right, not what is politically correct. As a life long Republican, I was really dreading going to the polls in November...I didn't like either candidate...but...now the McCain/Palin ticket has my vote.

  • Lorene - 18 years ago

Very excited and thrilled for Sarah! I was voting for McCain anyway and this just makes my heart and soul even happier! Praise the Lord!

  • Anita Corrado - 18 years ago

Thank goodness we have someone who is true to her beliefs. I really admire her and hope she is not spoiled by the corruption around her. We will pray for her and her family.

  • Valerie Davis - 18 years ago

I was so proud to have the opportunity to look at my 3 year old daughter and say, "Today is a great day for women and our country!"

  • louann carper - 18 years ago

I am a long standing dem. and was not going to vote at all due to the choices we had. I feel that the Dem. party is treding water in where he stands on anything. We don't know where he stands all he wants to do is run down the rep. party. Today when it was anounced that she was chosen to be on the rep. ticket I listened to her speech and said my God this is what this country needs. I am going to vote for the rep. party and do all I can to get them in office.

  • Gary Carlson - 18 years ago

This was an excellent choice. Any women that has 5 children is definetly pro-life. She loves to hunt and kill corruption as well. Pro-military- She will definetly bring the core conservative base, as well as, the HRH gang over to the Salior's side of the ship.

    GI "Gears" Carlson

  • Bob - 18 years ago

Governor Palin is bright, articulate, experienced in running a local and a major state government, understands the issues of everyday Americans, is honest, a woman of integrity, a woman of her convictions - this is exactly what we need in Government today. Bravo! We have real, meaningful change on the way - not change for the sake of change, but change for the sake of our fuure as a Country with moral and ethical standards that cannot and will not be compromised for the sake of political correctness.

  • Maggie - 18 years ago

  • Connie - 18 years ago

I am so excited! I have hope...hope for the future of American. If more politians were like her we would see real change and our country would be better for all. I saw Sarah's speech live this morning and was overwhelmed with emotion. She is real, she is qualified, she is a woman of integrity. She is confident and is not afraid to be herself. I could not be happier with the choice McCain made.

  • debra - 18 years ago

I've been dragging my feet to support John McCain but after today it's full speed ahead! She is so awesome! Let the games begin!

  • Florida Gator Bob - 18 years ago

What a great selection by McCain. Gov. Palin counters every self-confessed strength that Obama beats his chest professing!!! She counters and trumps him in spades, in fact! She is a proven leader, has not just talked about taking on corruption, graft and poor governing, but has performed under fire and succeeded! A family profile equals and perhaps even outshines Obama's family by the fact of having a son in the US Army and birthing and raising her most recent child! She lives her convictions and should appeal to most walks of life.

  • Kathleen - 18 years ago

What a great day for America! I listened to Sarah Palin with tears in my eyes. She is, together with John McCain, the new HOPE FOR AMERICA!!!!!

  • judith - 18 years ago

First of all John M. had is camp pick a women for his running mate,he knows this is his last chance! So what if she kills animals to eat! Also she has a dirty scret she tried to fire her sister's ex husband from his job as a highway patromman! She can't take over his job!

P.S. I'll bet none of her friends are terrorists or wacko radicals!

  • Roger - 18 years ago

It is so refreshing to hear from a candidate who truly has a desire to fight for government that is of the people, for the people , by the people. A person who has a servants heart and who only has the best interests of the common peron as her goal. She will make a great Vice President and will serve this country with grace and dignity along side John McCain.

  • Jane - 18 years ago

What a supermom...I identify with Governor Palin from Alaska. I raised 5 boys, soccor mom. foot ball mom. basketball mom. I applaud Senator McCaine on his choice in the VP selection. Hillary didnot have these qualifications, she had one kid and a husband that screwed on the oval rug in the White House. Let the truth be told...conservatives do not forget

  • Sharon - 18 years ago

Thank you Senator John McCain! You are #1! Thank you for not only telling women they are important but choosing such a great women as Governor Sarah Palin WOW!!!!!

  • Diana Smith - 18 years ago

What an inspirational woman. I am thrilled and so excitied. What a dynamic 60 something days this will be. I have 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys and my husband and I always tell them they can be anything and today really proved that. This woman is amazing. I admire her determination and she will do so much for this country and for the generation of tommorrow.
(By the way, I remember Speaker Gingrich's conversation in April.)

  • Douglas Barnes - 18 years ago

    Talk about great 'first', impressions.......wow !!! !!!

  • Kelly McAtee - 18 years ago

Gov. Palin is a remarkable woman, very articulate and very focused on her goals. What a relief to have a real person with real values and real experience as our VP. Regardless of race or gender, those are the most important things to me. McCain/Palin have my vote. Guaranteed.
    God Bless America!!

  • Shelby - 18 years ago

The Democrats scream Gov. Palin isn't ready to step in if something happens to John McCain "when" he's elected President. It's very clear Senator McCain has more experience than both Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden. Oh, by the way, Gov. Palin has more experience than Mr. Obama also. It's within an Executive Branch of government, even though it's a State Government. Doesn't that make the Republican Ticket a more experienced ticket.

  • Christine in NY - 18 years ago

I love Governor Palin (since I learned about her when she had her last child, since I am a mother of three, one with Down syndrome as well) and think Senator McCain made an excellent and courageous decision in choosing her for VP. Both of them have in common that they inspire by example, are honest and courageous, and are great reformers of government.

  • Erin Freitag - 18 years ago

It's very refreshing to see a normal everyday woman make such ranks. I am proud she is representing the republican party.

  • Shelby - 18 years ago

Outstanding choice by John McCain. His entire campaign has been energized.
Palin has a huge likeability factor which is only going to translate into votes as people get to know and hear her. What a wonderful breath of fresh air!!! She has credibility and just goes to show what a woman can accomplish with hard work, integrity, and being a true servant leader. The good Lord was looking out for American with this pick.

  • Rudy - 18 years ago

I would vote for her for PRESIDENT right now!

Gov. Palin is the republican Hillary Clinton a woman who has the GUTS to challenge the big boys and to stand for the best interest of her state and now has the opportunity for the entire country.

  • Daniel Ray Johnson - 18 years ago

This young lady is exactly the kind of person I have hoped would run for public office because this is just what we need in our government to combat some of the special interest earmarks and crooked deals that the good old boys have been getting by with for decades. Horray McCain, you hit the nail on the head!!!! Thanks so much..

She's going to be fantastic. A conservative, a woman, what could be better. John McCain did a great job in his selection. I'm an excited, fired up, republican. I can't wait for her to kick Bidens but. I hope the anti-american lib fools Obama and Binden are run out of Washington.

What a dynamite selection by John McCain!! This woman is Aces--an example for all politicians at local, state, and federal level to epitomize.
