Oh Please!!! How condescending and patronizing to ALL WOMEN out there! He had so many other choices, both men and women, more qualified. Senator McCain is like a child!!! As :they say": when you get older, you become a child-like again. I thought Senator McCain was a smarter man than what he's proven today, apparently not. What a fool! When it comes down to it, a true Democrat will vote for Senator Barack Obama, rather than a child-like man who chooses a woman to get the Clinton votes. If any female Democrat votes for McCain because he has chosen an inexperienced woman, then that tells you something about McCain, he's not liked. There will be a time when a woman will be in office. It just didn't happen now. Now's not the the time to play "my truck's bigger than your truck." Not when this country's at war, the economy is in one of its worst times, and people are losing their homes. I am so proud to be a woman and a Democrat.
Greg Mills - 18 years ago
What a breath of freash air this woman will bring to Washington! The fake perveyors of change should be putting their tails between their legs and getting ready to run for cover when this tough minded change maker comes to town. Both Democrates and Republicans makes no differance if your corrupt or a fake this gal is coming for ya.
Fred - 18 years ago
I am a 59-year-old male and life long Democrat. Growing up on Chicago's South Side, I organized neighborhood kids to meet in McKinley Park to play baseball. Like Obama, being a community organizer did not prepare me to be President. That is why I contributed money to Hillary's campaign. Obama had his chance. But he decided to once again perpetuate the male dominiating ritual of passing over an experienced and deserving woman, preventing her, in more ways than one, from achieving the promotion she justly deserved. I will vote for McCain in 2008. I will vote for Hillary in 2012.
Phil Sparks - 18 years ago
The Governor will be the winning punch for McCain. I will now get off my wallet and send the campaign some $$$$. Some of those Clinton voters are only going to vote democrat no matter how bad the party treats them but some are going to go w/Palin for the historic significance if nothing else. She wins hands down as the best looking of all the candidates. It is almost like "love at first sight" for true conseratives who had worried about Sen. McCain's idea for a running mate. He did excellent on this first major decision.
Jerome H.Berry - 18 years ago
Gov. Sarah Palin is not just Sen. McCains VP... She is the first Lady President in the making right before our eyes, 4 to 8 years from now. Grand slam for Sen. McCain, our next President. Lets get on board people. Where's my bumber sticker?

The DNC discredited my vote and my husband's vote for Hillary here in Michigan and gave part of our vote to delegates for Obama, who wasn't even on our ballot. We vowed to vote for McCain because the Democratic "powers that be" didn't want our vote to count. We have both been life long Democrats and realized that McCain's past actions show that he works more mainstream. His selection of Sarah Palin has proved that he wants our votes and that we really matter. We are impressed with Gov. Palin's attitude and enthusiasm and feel that she will be asset to our government.
SOMARIE - 18 years ago
For the first time in my life, I am voting against the Democratic Party as Obama didn't think that Hillary Clinton was a "smart choice" just because she pointed the fact that he wasn't the right men for the job I as a ex- democrat woman will vote for Senator McCain! Hillary maybe you will run on 2012 and if you do I will see you there!!!!
stephen - 18 years ago
I have never been blown away by a politician before. Today was the first. To say that we may have just seen the first woman vice president may only be part of the picture. I look down the road and see her as the first woman president.
Ann Godfrey - 18 years ago
Oh, am I happy, I just listened to Sarah Palin, she is just what we need in Washington, she will stand up for the people, I am so sick of the fighting and nothing in congress....she will be able to do so much fot women, families, and stop some of the garbage that has gone on for years, look at her state....she fights for the people....I respect McCain, and if he can earn enough money to pay for 7 homes more power to him, at least he paid for it, not Tony Rezko...SO I wish we could get over his 7 homes...and all the other junk and start looking at the needs in AMERICA....LIKE PALIN WILL DO ..."SHE IS A REFORMER"...GO GIRL....
joanne - 18 years ago
I have been quite concerned about the direction of our country, with the choices we have had in front of us for November 4th. When McCain made his announcement today - I felt such a relief! Thank you Mr. McCain.
Gov Palin may not have been in a Washington 'seat' but she has accomplished great strides for our Country's citizens. Thank you, Gov Palin for your service, dedication and loyalty to our country's future. Many of my friends and I will be extremely proud to call you our Vice President.

Kem Wilson - 18 years ago
Absolutely fantastic! This is a brilliant decision. I got so tired of the media always talking about how women will always vote for Hillary--I for one was never on board for her because of her liberal, anti-life, pro-gay stance. Finally, we have a woman who is the epitemy of what a leader should be-conservative, a woman of faith, strong, and capable. I am very, very excited. I will go door-to-door to campaign for McCain/Palin. Also, I am from central Illinois and I know first hand how inexperienced Obama is and he does not have the knowledge to lead our country. Way to go John McCain!

I wish Gov. Palin were running for president and Senator McCain as her running mate.

John McCain you bring back my faith in mankind and hope for the future. What a team. May God's blessing be with you both.

I am so excited...Sarah seems to be a real working class person who is not afraid of the good ole boy network. John McCain shows that he wants change in Washington by choosing someone that is not in the Washington network.
John McCain my whole family is voting for you this Nov. (16 members)

Thank you, FOX, for giving us more information so immediately after Sarah Palin has been named as JMc's running mate. She has come out of the gate with a roar! I love her already! I like her "stating the facts" demeanor, her well-rounded background of local, state, and national leadership. She understands family, hard work, and obviously she has done great things for the state of Alaska to have such a high approval rating. WOW! I'm excited!

WOW! Sarah Palin just hits so many buttons in politics that "THE OL' BOYS CLUB" in Washington DC are not going to know what smacked em'. A governor is an EXECUTIVE position which outranks any senator any day, any how - any way - so, to the DEMS - step back, take a deep breath and get ready for the wild ride that is going to give you a "free" face lift from the force of it all up to the election. The Republicans have good reason to "vote" for McCain/Palin ticket - and celebrate his wise - sound decision in his choice. Let the DEMS degrade Palin - dig up dirt - what they are going to find is that she is a STRONG WOMAN who has convictions and stands by them. Boo Hoo! Dems - - woulda shoulda coulda - too late. Hillary - came so close - what happened that de-railed her and you favored OBAMA - poor choice DEMS - Palin will happily shatter the so-called glass ceiling and we can only look on with admiration.
Thanks, Sarah We appreciate your dedication and service.
sarah palin is a remarkable leader full of integrity and a shining star for all!

Right on!!!! The brain power on this ticket blows the Obama ticket to shreds! America....prove you have a brain vote for McCain!!!!!
Shirley Schnee - 18 years ago
I am so excited over Sarah Palen. I believe she will be the answer for all Republicans. She is smart ( I bet her IQ is way up there) She is down to earth, she is proud of her husband and her children. Alaska is a huge state to run and she has been doing a wonderful job. She knows right from wrong and I don't believe she is a liar. I have always thought the Republicans would win this race and now I am sure of it. Good luck to her as I know she will need it as the "drive-by" media will be nasty as usual. They haven't run in to the likes of her before, tho./

I think this was more than "hitting the ball out of the park." If we are going to use sports metaphors, I believe we should call this a "smackdown."
Poor Obama, this was going to be his day to bask in the glow of his speech.... I did think he was gracious in what he said about Gov. Palin. Too bad Nancy Pelosi couldn't have been as gracious.
Tom - 18 years ago
This is a great day for the American people. This is the first time I have been excited thru this whole campaign. Gov Palin is a young Ronald Reagan. FINALLY there is hope for the American people. It would have been difficult to vote for McCain if she wasn't the VP.
Rick - 18 years ago
John McCain hit a colossal home run today with Sarah Palin. She is the right choice to make at the right time.
What a dream-ticket; finally! This lady is the real deal. I am embarrased by the Democratic response that Senator McCain would not have done this if Senator Clinton would have been selected; it belittles the lady as a person and her public service. And to think that the Democrats pandered to fine women all these years. I find it tremendously ironic that it will be the Republican party that seats the first-ever female V.P.
Thank you Senator McCain and your V.P. Selection Committee

It is good to see someone with integrity, a woman and someone that stands up legal gun owners. I cannot what to hear more from her and John Mc Cain. Speaking from the corrupt state of Illinois - and living in Cook (or Crook) Country – and putting up with Anti-Gun Richard Daily and of course failure our Governor. I am very concern about Obama ties to the Chicago political machine. Just remember this is where Obama cut his teeth. The state of corruption! She stood up to the corruption and has a track record where is Obama’s!
Good Choice!!!
Kenny - 18 years ago
I am very happy with today's choice. In a world where people far too often say what is "popular", I am confident that both McCain and Palin are ready to speak with conviction, honesty and principle. That is all I ask. I wake up at 5:00 am every day to go to work to support my 4 kids and I simply expect others who are able to do the same. I will help anyone deserving but realize that nothing comes for free. I, and millions of others, are far too intelligent to be sucked into the ramblings and idealistic views of Obama and company and simply want honesty and conviction from people who are "In It" for the right reasons, and not merely some kind of "Power Trip". I will now proudly vote for McCain and Palin and am very, very excited and encouraged as we move toward November.
WOW ! What a delightful surprise and now a major thorn in the Obama campaign. This is a powerhouse of a woman. Where has she been? We need more women like her, not the Nancy Pelosi's of the country. Talk about a thorn in the side. Old Nancy is really gritting her teeth now. Hilary is probably delighted. You don't think she really wants Obama to win do you? NO ! She wants McCain because she is more than likely convinced he will not be elected to a second term because of his age, and that opens the door for her against a new Republican candidate. Hilary is probably sure she can beat Sarah, but from what I heard today from what I believe to be "what you see is truly what you get", Sarah is going to be the one to do Hilary in if they end up against one another in 4 years, or even 8 years. This sharp lady, Sarah Palin, has made the Obama campaign look like it is weak in the knees. Obama is words, just words, and Biden??? Can you imagine what would happen to this country with Obama as the President and Biden, who for 39 years has simply attended to his senate obligations, voting, but not leading..and to go a step farther, why in the world are they talking about can Sarah run the country if something happens to McCain? Look who would be running the country if for some reason Obama were suddenly out of the picture. Now, which one would you really want? Sarah or Biden? It's a no brainer to me. This lady is a dynamo !!! I agree with what someone else said here. She is a politician I do not think can be bought off, will not turn her head while others make the decisions, probably has already figured out who the crooked politicians are..she has in Alaska, so why not in the US Government in Washington? Yes, John McCain, you hit the ball out of the park with this one. This is the first presidential election that I have been excited about since Kennedy ran.
May the best team win...McCain and Palen (Sorry, I may have it wrong. It may be Palin, but who cares....SARAH !!!! )
Ann - 18 years ago
If Obama really was for his Democratic Party and unity, why didn't he listen to the Democratic Women and choose Hillary Clinton for his VP? He had a chance, but now he has lost the chance for the dream ticket. I do not think he has unified the Democratic Party. It looks good on the surface but there is an underlying disunity.
Loamie Mcilwain - 18 years ago
Check and Mate!!! This is the smartest move in all politics in my life and I'm 68 yrs old and I thought I had heard it all. This only proves to me that John McCain should be President of the U.S. I am convinced that if for any reason he should not be able to serve, I am positive his pick for Vice President will be ready to take over without reservation. It is absolutely apparent to me that Congress better hope she never becomes President because if she does, there are a lot of them that will not be re-elected to their office. She will weed out the bad apples by letting their constituents know why they need to be replaced. Congratulations to McCain and Palin. Our great nation just became a better place to leave.
I had 2 Democrat friends here in state (Kentucky) tell me today, they will vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. I think it is the most courageous ticket of my lifetime & so many of my friends have shared 'someone finally they can identify with'. This Lady, is going to make this election soooooo EXCITING! Let the debates begin...I can hardly wait! This was a triple play, a touchdown & 8 Gold Medals all rolled together on McCain's part!! What a GREAT selection!!

I'm usually quite cynical when it comes to politics. I couldn't believe the excitement and emotions I felt, when word started to leak out, about Sarah Palin being the nominee. I am so proud to be a conservative, republican, woman!
Tami - 18 years ago
I am so excited to see what happens - not something usually said about the choosing of a vice president! McCain has picked the one woman who could stand toe to toe with Pelosi and her 'political hound-dog pack' and make them look like the yapping bunch they are. My apologies to all the hound dog owners out there.
Tim - 18 years ago
Amazing how many Democrats are considering strongly voting for McCain/Pallin. I was not sure what the Hillary loyalists would do, but I sense that they feel the best candidate was not chosen. I thought Obama should have at least had her on his short list. He's too far left to win. Personally, I think the Democrats would have been better off with someone with experience and at least one drafted bill to their name!
Roger - 18 years ago
I am proud of Palin. She is a strong leader and I back her views. I would have no problem having her lead the country. I am voting McCain for sure!
Linda PTA County President - 18 years ago
Wow! I was so hoping John McCain would pick a strong women. Yes he did! after Obama's speech last night, I am so afraid that the good people of this country will elect him. We need a President not a Rock Star. I just heard Sarah's speech and I heard something that peaked my interest, she started volunteering in the PTA and I think she said she was a PTA President. Go PTA moms!

Are you kiddin me this is the worst thing that could happen to the GOP. Come on. You people are all brain washed. Get real this won't work. McCain is not in charge anymore. He is being told what to do by the Republican Ops. This poor girl is going to be eaten alive. I feel sorry for for her.

I am a registered Democrat and have been very disappointed with Obama and his ROCK SHOW convention.
This has been a major slap in the face for Hillary and wouldn't be surprised if the Clinton's behind the privacy of the election curtain vote republican... so will I.

I was ready to write-in Mike Huckabee. With this choice I am re-energized to vote the McCain ticket! Great choice and a couageous one by Senator McCain. If this is an indication of the way he will govern and his decision making in making the tough decision, he has MY Vote now! I will stump for him and the ticket!

We are so proud of Sarah. She listens to the people. We cried with happiness but also with sorrow to lose her as our Governor. She got things done. She's from good stock and hard work, we understand that. We may be a huge state with less population than Delaware, but we are a challangeing State. We are so diversifed..she has governed not just our cities, but rural Alaska. We live so much differently than the lower 48, and often feel excluded. We are all tired of not being considered part of the 48 Contigious US. We believe in her integregity....not words, not just speeches, but action. Cameron and Donna Fleming...Go Sarah!

As I was hoping for a Romney announcement like so many others. I can't help by being captivated by this women .She wears her tenacity well and McCain stole Obamas thunder with her selection. I was glued to Fox wathing her speak and can't wait to see her drop the gloves against the dull and listless Biden. Also she's a card carrying NRA member like me and unlike Mario Cuomo used to say ....I vote ! ! !

What a great day this turned out to be. I have been so discouraged regarding the choices for President. I believe John McCain would make a much better president than barack obama but the addition today of sarah palin renewed by faith that maybe somehow there is still hope for this beloved land (USA). America needs to turn around and take a look at where we have been headed and is that where we want to go. No me, i want a better country for my grandchildren and i know it is possible. we have to not give up and vote in Nov for McCain/Palin and have faith they will do the best for our Nation and make us great again in our eyes and the eyes of other nations.....Let's all try to be great once again. i love my country............. : )

Today I am no longer voting AGAINST Sen. Obama. I am voting FOR Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin.
Rhonda - 18 years ago
I have been a democratic woman and wholeheartedly supported Hillary Rodham Clinton. It was extremely unfair the way MSNBC, CNN, etc knocked her down and contributed greatly to her political demise in the recent primary battle.
I used to watch those networks but now find myself watching FOX News for a balanced view of the political landscape. I had decided I was not going to vote democratic, if at all, and I almost succumbed to the spectical that was Barack Obama's speech at the convention.
However, in Govenor Palin, I have found a refreshing alternative to the OBama ticket. Palin is a strong, competent woman who will not back down or give up or give in! Though I am pro choice, I have the upmost respect for Govenor Palin for her choice to carry her Down's Syndrome son to term. That in itself, showed me the character of this great woman, and I know that God, she, would be pleased too .

Good job McCain, I am a diehard Hillary Clinton supporter that will now place my vote for John McCain...............I love strong women because I myself am one!......................John McCain and Sarah Palin 08

At first I was dissappointed that Mitt wasn't chosen, until I heard the enthusiasm in her voice, and the experience she has. Raising 5 children is no small task. Performing her potical accomplishments at the same time is amazing. The Dems are going to have a rough time competing with speeches that actually have substance. McCain & Palin are winning team. :)
catherine - 18 years ago
Psych!!! Bye bye obama/biden...Sarah is refreshing, intelligent down to earth and articulate and beautiful. Good choice JM. Npw i am excited about the election.
RJ Chin - 18 years ago
Gov Palin is a brilliant choice. Newt called it right, she is what insiders like Biden fear, true change, true reform. She was put down today by CNN stating she governs about 667K people in Alaska. Interesting, Bidden is from a state with only 800K in population and of course, other states for neighbors. Gov. Palin deals with Canada and Russia as neighbors. No foreign policy experience? I think that's a loaded gun for Obamamaniacs. Gov Palin visited our troops before it was in vogue for Obama. She's not a rock star, just a regular Jane like my wife.
Bryan - 18 years ago
I thought this was an election of two of the most hopeless people to ever run for the office for president. I would never support Obama for his extreme left views. On the other hand, McCain offered no hope to those of us who are dems with moral values either.
This VP pick sealed the deal for McCain and won my vote for him. Once I thought I would stay home, because they cheated Hillary. Now we have Sara Palin who is actually a better canidate than Hillary his. I am a Conservative democrat who opposes pro-choice, gay-marriage, global warming and am for ANWAR drilling.
Governor Palin, bring this election home and America will support you.
God Bless America in Jesus Name,
Scott - 18 years ago
OUTSTANDING Choice! I am an conservative and voting for McCain/Palin. I am excited about the ticket and now will be actively working for the ticket. As a Delaware resident, I will push to show the wisdom of the McCain decision to choose the Governor of Alaska!
I can't wait to watch Gov. Palin rip up Joe Biden in a debate. What a hoot that is going to be. She has got a lot of guts! God Bless Her. I also have a granddaughter who is handicapped. McCain/Palin will have my vote.
Charlie from WV - 18 years ago
I have to say it took me by surprise, but wow, a fabulous pick in my opinion. My wfe is as fired up as I've ever seen her and she's an Independent. My daughter who is at college called and said all the girls at school were very excited to hear McCain picked a women. We can't wait to punch our ballots for McCain/Palin here in West Virginia.

The appointment of Governor Palin today for McCain's VP was a great choice.
Gov. Palin is young and intelligent has intregrity and is fearless! This can push the Republicans over the top. Who can be against US?
Way to go John McCain. God Speed.
I am a Hillary Clinton supporter, and very upset with the way Hillary was treated. I decided to become an independent....I will watch very carfully this pick by John McCain...so far even though I do not agree with all of her stands I really liked what I heard and want to hear more....John McCain is something else....special......
Mena - 18 years ago
Sen. McCain made a brilliant choice in his pick for VP. I am 37 year old mother of two. I am Republican fisically, but I would be termed more liberal in my social views. I vote my pocket book and hope that by doing this I will have more to give as I SO CHOOSE to those in need. Gov. Palin seems to be in politics for all of the right reasons and it is so refreshing. I have been fortunate enough to know several politicians who have served in Washington and I have worked for one or two. It is such a game of I'll scratch my back if you scratch mine and that gets the American taxpayer nowhere! Good luck to Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin. I would love to give them a chance to kick some you know what in Washington and make ALL of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, be held accountable for their actions. It is not about power, It is about the American People....Rich and Poor!
Mary Coleman - 18 years ago
THANK YOU, John McCain. I Sobbed out loud today when I heard Palin speak, and others speak of her integrity.
Our country needs her leadership badly.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
GOD BLESSED AMERICA with Sarah Palin
see ya later....good old boy network .....scratch scratch scratch..GONE
When I heard her speak today, her genuine character inpired me to get involved again and help with the Republican campaign get John McCain elected. I had lost my enthusiasm, but by this choice John McCain has given us a choice of someone who is a role model for not just women but for people who believe in principles and values and want to live by them, and want our leaders to live by them too. She showed guts and a willingness to stand up for what is right. By choosing such a person, John McCain showed that he also has guts. I like that. John McCain is genuinely happy with his choice. He seems so happy. I didn't see that in Obama. He never seemed genuinely happy about his running mate. He is all about himself.
The election is now clinched for McCain. Finally, an honest politician! She is a blessing for America.
Jan Marie - 18 years ago
I was not going to vote this election but have changed my mind since hearing Sarah Palin speak.
She is the voice for Americans who feel they have no voice.
I will vote for the McCain/Palin team in November, and I will vote for her when she runs for President. This is a great day for America and for the American dream. I want people in the White House who have a love for the country and it's people and not just to get in to tax..spend...tax...tax...tax...
I want to sleep soundly at night knowing that my President cares enough about my safety and the safety of my family. Being the leader of the free world is a tough job that requires a sound mind with good judgment, not an angry man who is so unhappy with America that he wants to change it. Barack Hussein Obama will change America by NOT winning in November.
What a breath of fresh air this woman is! She will certainly be a great example of what women have always been capable of in our American leadership. It was a brilliant move for her to acknowledge both Geraldine Ferraro and Hilary Clinton as traiblazers for women in this national election. My husband and I are both grateful for her willingness to serve as our country's Vice President. We say thank you to John McCAin for his courage and visioinary choice here. He has certainly earned our vote in November.
Mandy - 18 years ago
Sorry Obama and Biden you are both out!
My vote is going going to the Republicians!!!!!!
Great choice John McCain, Sarah Palin is young, smart, great looking and
just a wonderful person!!!!!!

I'm a Republican guy loved by many, many women! The difference between me and most other guys? I was sitting in front of my TV alone, applauding, cheering and yelling when I saw who John McCain picked as his running mate! Wonderful!........ and she fishes and shoots too! I joined the NRA today and since I already have a Conceal/Carry license, I vowed that I will strap on my Glock every day! GO SARAH!
Danielle - 18 years ago
I was voting for McCain anyways, but now I love the ticket. I knew nothing about Palin before today, but after her acceptance speech, I loved her and most of all I BELIEVED HER. I think she is going to underestimated at the debates and I can't wait until the obvious snide and obnoxious Biden goes up against her, the contrast is going to be dramatic... Really proud to be a woman and a Republican right now....go kick some ass Palin

Greta, I have never wanted a woman President, or Vice President, but if the men won't step up and do the right thing for our country, then we have no choice but to have a woman. This statement is biblical. I am voting for John McCain, not because I like him but I certainly do not want Obama and his liberal views. Sarah certainly has my respect.

John McCain just got our vote. We are registered Democrats, however in this elecetion year both my wife and I will be voting for John McCain...in our eyes he made a home run in selecting Governor Palin as his running mate......we were two of the 18 Million voteres that voted for Hillary Clinton...however the Democrats loses our vote this time around . GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!

I am thrilled with McCains choice of Sarah Palin. She is just what we Republicans need to win the election. As someone who lived in Alaska for 2 years, I can tell you that Sarah is strong, determined and will NOT give up! She can take it!
Annette - 18 years ago
I have confidence that these two can turn this country around. We need people in elected offices that believe that America can and should be a moral country, and we need leadership that decries the lack of morals in this country. I believe this team can and will do it.
May the Lord our God bless America, and may He bless Sarah Palin and Senator McCain as they tackle the problems facing this country. We need someone who will stop the corruption in Washington and consider the needs of tthe entire citizenship of America! Go with it! You can do it!

Governor Palin is a wonderful addition for John McCain's ticket. I feel so excited and encouraged about the wisdom shown by the Republicans. She may be young but she will make an excellent VP.
Delyn - 18 years ago
McCain's choice was brilliant! They definitely have my vote. Her speech was sharp, focused, and clearly expressed her stance ethically, politically, and morally. This is the most exciting ticket I've seen since Reagan. . . . go get 'em--McCain /Palin!
Chris - 18 years ago
I was thrilled. I was in tears, so very proud.

Finally!!! Change that I can believe in. I'm excited. Senator McCain, I congratulate you on your choice. You've got another Hiliary voter moving over!

I have said for months that Senator McCain should pick Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, as his VP Candidate and he did that today. She is like a breath of fresh air to politics and the Republican Party. Executive Experience, has held both appointed and elected positions, even a member of the PTA, Basketball Coach for kids, Hockey Mom, etc..., who else in politics has such a resume.
As the guy in the audience said to Harry Truman in 1948 when he ran for President, "Way to Go (Harry) John". Thank You for picking a winner like Sarah to be your running mate in 2008.

Sara was the mayor of a small town, pop 9,000.
Biden got that many votes in the primaries!

I was an undecided registered Independent --- Undecided no more! I have been aware of and impressed by the reforms Gov Palin has initiated since taking office as governor in Alaska. Senator McCain & Gov. Palin have my vote!

As a moderate republican who has given serious thought of switching to independant, I have been very very upset this entire election season. As a moderate republican I have felt dismissed by the right wing of the republican party because they are pro life and I'm not. Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh have said in very clear terms that my vote doesn't matter. It's like if you're not a CONSERVATIVE then you might as well be a far left total nutcase because you're not welcome in their party. I have been very angry at Rush and Sean and the republican party because of that. Personally I wanted John McCain to nominate Joe Lieberman as it would be the first time in 50 years we would have a dual party ticket. Lieberman and McCain in my eyes are independents.
All I knew last night was I would either stay home and not vote in November or I'd hold my nose in the air while I voted for McCain regardless of who he picked as his VP. This morning I was leaning toward staying home.
So when I woke up and checked my windows mobile phone and saw he nominated some lady Sara Palin, I was very upset. I knew as much about her as the lady living down the street from me, nothing.
Then I watched her speech and O M G I almost fell off the couch. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like this lady!!!!!! How she got to be in politics and how she worked her way up the ladder.. every step being the goal to go after corruption and get rid of the good ol' boy network, HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!! Her husband is a member of a union ... she intentially gave life to her son even though they knew well in advance he had down syndrome? Wow!!!!! You wanna talk about character!?!?!?!?!?
They called John McCain the maverick. Move over John, there's a new maverick in town and her name is Sara Palin and she's gonna kick some serious @#$ on the way to the white house.
McCain/Palin has my vote.

John Mccain is showing Obama what "real change" is . Biden is a very boring career Washington insider who like Obama have made no real contributions to our country. A very successful govenor, a mother of 4 kids with a handicapped child : this is a lady who I can really embrace and who can and will get something accomplished in DC Thank you Fox news for delivering an unbiased and honest news story about a very exciting story!!!

I had chills listening to her speak today. I work with guys who are, for no better words to describe them, Nascar Dads. They just could not take their eyes off the TV set in the breakroom. I mean what is not to like, she hunts, she fishes, she likes moose stew, and she told Washington to take their "Bridge to No-Where" and keep the money, and she is a true reformer.
I am sorry Democrates, but I think they have my vote. I am not going to cry because Sen. McCain and Govenor Palin give good speachs and are idealistic. I think they will fight for what is right with this country, and not for themselves.
What a breath of freash air this woman will bring to Washington! The fake perveyors of change should be putting their tails between their legs and getting ready to run for cover when this tough minded change maker comes to town. Both Democrates and Republicans makes no differance if your corrupt or a fake this gal is coming for ya.
Gov. Sarah Palin is not just Sen. McCains VP... She is the first Lady President in the making right before our eyes, 4 to 8 years from now. Grand slam for Sen. McCain, our next President. Lets get on board people. Where's my bumber sticker?
The USA now has hope again.
I have never been blown away by a politician before. Today was the first. To say that we may have just seen the first woman vice president may only be part of the picture. I look down the road and see her as the first woman president.
Remember that GOD is in control. Let me see righteous actions.
Wonderful Woman! A TRUE AND HONEST WOMAN THAT LOVES AMERICA! A GOOD PICK.
What an example of womanhood....
WoW what a fresh breath of clean air. I love Alaska (have spend several summers in Kenai..and the air is fresher there ) this woman is the greatest blessing we have had on the political scene for a very longgggggggggg time. She will bring the republican ticket to victory. One happy woman 76 years of age in Austin, Tx
The Dimocrats just saw their ship sink. What a brilliant and exciting choice!
50 yr. young woman:)
How GREAT is this!!!! There really is a God!
This is a great day for the American people. This is the first time I have been excited thru this whole campaign. Gov Palin is a young Ronald Reagan. FINALLY there is hope for the American people. It would have been difficult to vote for McCain if she wasn't the VP.
It may be Palin, but who cares....SARAH !!!! )
CMSgt, USAF (retired)
I had 2 Democrat friends here in state (Kentucky) tell me today, they will vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. I think it is the most courageous ticket of my lifetime & so many of my friends have shared 'someone finally they can identify with'. This Lady, is going to make this election soooooo EXCITING! Let the debates begin...I can hardly wait! This was a triple play, a touchdown & 8 Gold Medals all rolled together on McCain's part!! What a GREAT selection!!
What an example of womanhood....
John McCain you bring back my faith in mankind and hope for the futher. What a team. May God's blessing be with you both.
I'm extremely pleased with McCain choosing Sara Palin. She's the right one and we need her. Maybe the overdue spring house cleaning can get done now.
They have my vote.
Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air.....I will now cast my vote for the next President of the United States..........John McCain........and the sexiest woman in Politics.....Sarah Palin She is HOT...Thank You Jesus
I love what my hero did today picking Mrs. Palin was totally awesome for our Government women are over due the only other women I would have approved of is Mrs Rice so go Republican's.
I wish Gov. Palin were running for president and Senator McCain as her running mate.
An inspiring woman. She has character and integrity. We need more people like her to represent this country. I'm finally excited about this election. Brilliant choice McCain! May God's guidance and blessings direct your paths throughout this process.
Fantastic choice. I'm thrilled that Sen. McCain had the insight to put a woman on the ticket...way to go John! Sen. Obama missed the boat with Hillary and may regret his decision.
Linda
I'm usually quite cynical when it comes to politics. I couldn't believe the excitement and emotions I felt, when word started to leak out, about Sarah Palin being the nominee. I am so proud to be a conservative, republican, woman!
I am so excited to see what happens - not something usually said about the choosing of a vice president! McCain has picked the one woman who could stand toe to toe with Pelosi and her 'political hound-dog pack' and make them look like the yapping bunch they are. My apologies to all the hound dog owners out there.
I am proud of Palin. She is a strong leader and I back her views. I would have no problem having her lead the country. I am voting McCain for sure!
This has been a major slap in the face for Hillary and wouldn't be surprised if the Clinton's behind the privacy of the election curtain vote republican... so will I.
How refreshing, a REAL Person and a genuine “Mom”!
Jory,
(I am a 58 year old male and that's happily married for 36 years)
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO SAYS AND DOES WHAT WE ARE ALL THINKING !!! THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES AND HASN'T FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND THOSE IN WASHINGTON JUST KEEP GOING ALONG WITH IT. A BREATH OF FRESH AIR WHO COULD EASILY OF BEEN A MAN BUT IS INSTEAD A GREAT LADY . THE REPUPLICANS WILL WIN EASILY
I finally understand the significance when men would declare "I'm gonna vote for him because I can see myself having a beer with him."
Great selection. I am changing my opinion about John McCain.
She is refreshing.
Wow, it is long overdue to find out what woman of the west are all about! My 20 year old daughter called and told me about her today, "Mom, she is strong, smart and excatly what we need." I agree!!!
Are you kiddin me this is the worst thing that could happen to the GOP. Come on. You people are all brain washed. Get real this won't work. McCain is not in charge anymore. He is being told what to do by the Republican Ops. This poor girl is going to be eaten alive. I feel sorry for for her.
Palin.
Psych!!! Bye bye obama/biden...Sarah is refreshing, intelligent down to earth and articulate and beautiful. Good choice JM. Npw i am excited about the election.
God Bless America in Jesus Name,
OUTSTANDING Choice!
I have to say it took me by surprise, but wow, a fabulous pick in my opinion. My wfe is as fired up as I've ever seen her and she's an Independent. My daughter who is at college called and said all the girls at school were very excited to hear McCain picked a women. We can't wait to punch our ballots for McCain/Palin here in West Virginia.
i'm a 64 yr old democrat gramma. this year i will be voting republican. i watched the dnc and thought it was awsome show, but it didn't convince me to vote my party in again. i like that new gal mcCain's got running with him. she is something, i like her, and i think they will be great together. him with the global crisis, her with the problems here at home.
This mom is voting for the "MAVERICKS!"
McCain/Palin 08!!!!
The appointment of Governor Palin today for McCain's VP was a great choice.
Gov. Palin is young and intelligent has intregrity and is fearless! This can push the Republicans over the top. Who can be against US?
Way to go John McCain. God Speed.
They have my vote. A great choice.
Now I know. I want to vote for McCain.
I am a Hillary Clinton supporter, and very upset with the way Hillary was treated. I decided to become an independent....I will watch very carfully this pick by John McCain...so far even though I do not agree with all of her stands I really liked what I heard and want to hear more....John McCain is something else....special......
Drat that caps lock...MCCAIN / PALIN !!!
The election is now clinched for McCain. Finally, an honest politician! She is a blessing for America.
GO SARAH!
McCain's choice was brilliant! They definitely have my vote. Her speech was sharp, focused, and clearly expressed her stance ethically, politically, and morally. This is the most exciting ticket I've seen since Reagan. . . . go get 'em--McCain /Palin!
Otis
