My husband and I have tried for over 18 months for a baby and finally conceived 9 weeks ago only for the pregnancy to end in miscarriage we are both totally devastated and yet you are uploading pictures of your ultrasounds and asking people whether or not you should KILL this baby. A child is for life. You need to be mentally able to accept this baby with needs into your life. A child needs to be born, wanted and loved. You can always have the child and give it up for adoption, that is another option. But I think having a website to CHOOSE is really very un healthy and sick. If you go ahead with the child, and he finds this out, this could destroy him. This is not the way to determined how a child should entre the world. I think you need to speak to a councellor/family planning/pychologist about this.

I just read this on the news and was appalled, angered and extremely upset. A baby's life is not something to vote over. If you are unsure about being parents then you shouldn't have got pregnant in the first place. As someone who could struggle to fall pregnant i find it sickening & heartbreaking. I am very offended by the creation of this website. I won't be rude or uncouthe in my choice of words but all I can think about is that poor child. What if the baby found out about this later in life? What would you think if your parents did such a thing to you??? If I found out that my parents left the decision of whether or not to give me life in the hands of some random strangers googling things online, it would break my heart. How is a child supposed to feel loved coming into a situation like this? As a pro-life young woman, I obviously urge you to birth this child, but in my opinion, you should give the baby up for adoption to a loving home. Something he/she apparently won't find with his/her birth parents. sad.
Well im rather speechless by this iniciative...have you considered the consequences of this? I agree with Fi! Regardless of my personal judgements about the couple, I think you should have the baby and either keep it or put the baby up for ADOPTION. If you don't want to be parents, then don't, but the child is a child, clearly, it's not just a ball of cells anymore.
I'm all for choice but it should be your choice, not that of anyone else. So for the baby's sake I'm voting to give birth since you two don't care either way. That doesn't mean you have to keep it, you could give it up for adoption, give it the chance of the good life that it deserves. I'm a 20 year old atheist and know I would love to have kids but if for any reason I ended up pregnant and there was no way I'd be able to look after it I would go with adoption, even though I know it would be hard as well.

I feel like this is one of those questions where if you have to ask, the answer should be no. From your first post it sounds like you're just looking for those "Kodak Moments" like "Oh look, the baby is smiling in daddy's arms, hooray" but there is so much more to it than that. Just because you "baby talk" at babies you run into in a store doesn't mean you are ready to change your entire life. As a by the by, I myself never wanted kids. I had a successful career and also considered myself too selfish. But I had a surprise.... and I don't regret it. Things have indeed changed, but also my perception on things did too, along with my what I thought were 'set' opinions! My son is now 8, and after seeing the world through his eyes, have changed my ways.

Please do not have an abortion. There are many families who would love to have a baby and can't. If you don't think you would be successful in raising your child, give him to someone who will. You have heard the heart beating and you now know that your baby can hear outside the womb at this point. He can also feel and by the 20 week point could possibly live outside the womb. All I can say is please consider adoption instead of abortion. I personally know couples that would love to have a child and can't. I had an abortion 19 years ago, at 6 weeks, without ever having seen a pic of my baby or felt it move. I now have 3 children and they have changed my life in wonderful, AND not entirely good, ways. However, I have never forgotten that first baby and, to this day, I regret the abortion. I am also the survivor of a childhood where I was emotionally, sexually, and physically abused by parents who had no business having a child - thank god I was the only one they managed to have. Idk whether you two should have an abortion or not, and i think this whole idea is pretty disgusting, but i voted "birth" just to feel like I am giving that poor kid a chance. I just read about this in the UK. I miscarried my first child five years ago and this year I gave birth to healthy boy. Your baby really is a little person in there, and there are so many people desperate for a child or even to get to 17 weeks. I am not anti-abortion but I do think that the 20 week limit is too late, and if you terminate it could be a decision you regret and have to live with for the rest of your life. Have the baby and if you still do not want the child have it adopted so that a childless couple can have raise the baby with all the love it needs. By the way, I didn't feel at all maternal while I was pregnant,in act I hated being pregnant, but once I gave birth, nature took over!
One other thing... I have a friend who had an abortion many years ago. She regrets it to this day. She now has two healthy children but she still wonders about the one she didn't keep. Once you have this abortion, you might find that you regret it later. But you won't be able to take it then.
I don't understand why this has to be an either/or decision. If you are truly scared about having a child, give the baby up for a adoption to a couple who would love to have a baby. You post pictures of how the baby is developing and for the life of me I would think this would make your decision to abort more difficult. Life is precious and adoption is better than no life for this young one. My husband's father was adopted. If his father's mom had decided to abort, my husband wouldn't be here and neither would my two kids. It's not just one life you'd be ending but the potential for future individuals to live too.

I saw about this story in the newspapers in the UK and felt compelled to write on here. I just don't know how you could have gone through the pain of a miscarriage both physically and emotionally, rent a doppler to hear your babies heart beating and absorb all the information given to you by your doctor's/nurse's and then think about making a decision whether or not to terminate your pregnancy. I voted "have an abortion". Not because I hate you or babies or anything, but I DID read about yourselves in your info provided. You have gone through three unsuccessful pregnancies. Chances are, this one will also be unsuccessful. Miscarriages are genetic, and if you're prone to them, then you're going to have a VERY hard time keeping the baby, especially now that you're older. Perhaps after things calm down, the economy picks back up, and the multitudinous wars in the Middle East end, bringing another life into the world could make sense. As it is, however, there is no logical benefit to having a child. It completely changes your life, and will likely have a sub-optimal childhood in the world of today. The financial and emotional damage having a child causes is just barely worth it in the best of times, if for some reason you really want to take care of a small, stupid, loud, feces factory, but now simply isn't the time for it.
You know, I am pro-choice...but do not let that mean I am pro-abortion. I'm not. I am for whatever a woman chooses to do with her body. That is the definition of pro-choice. However, in this instance, I am encouraging you to either A) abort that child or if you do opt to have it B) PLEASE consider adoption. It is obvious to me that you two are absolutely not fit to bring a child into this world if you are already using it as a social experiment.
I think what you are doing is disgusting and you are setting back the pro-choice movement about 50 years. You are making it seem like this is a frivolous little matter that can be decided by a random internet poll. This is a decision that women on both sides of the spectrum agonize over for months, even years after they make their choice. This is not something a woman enters into lightly and you are making it appear that way. Shame on you both.

Honestly I guess I just don't understand, for me this is not debatable. By some of your statements it seems you do recognize the humanity of the child in the womb - you call him/her a baby - which makes me even more confused when you say you are "deciding" whether to abort your baby - makes no sense.
But if you are truly asking for my opinion on this matter... well, I'll give you the prayer of a little girl (me - I'm 23 now) in 6th grade (I think) when we were asked what our greatest dreams were for ourselves, our families, and our country. Your baby is small as of now, but he or she will grow up into a happy and joyful person full of unconditional love towards both of you. Remember that your baby loves you like no other human being and if you can't remember that know that God loves you and the precious life of your child. If you give birth to your child I can promise you that you will be full of joy and love for your little one. Once you look into the eyes of your own child you will see how beautiful life is and how beautiful God is.
