Should the Justice Department reopen--and possibly prosecute--cases of alleged mistreatment of terror suspects by CIA interrogators?

Hello .......does anyone see the diversion from health care? Obama was losing the healthcare debate so this is the diversion!!!! Also did anyone see that Obama was off on the projected defecit by 2 trillion $$$$ Wake up America........Vote every single person in congress OUT in 2010!!!!

  • Joyice Mann - 17 years ago

What do they think the CIA is there for? First they are going to investigate then they are not going to investigate now they are going to investigate. It's just another smoke screen. Why don't the investigate everyone in Washington that is holding office? If they want to find dirt there is plenty there for them to find. They need to leave the CIA alone and let them do their job.

  • Jayne - 17 years ago

Oh for Pete's sake!! These were terriorists!! They were killing us!! You think they don't torture our people in ways you can't even imagine!! Lining them up in front of a firing squad wouldn't be justice enough!

  • Charlotte - 17 years ago

Can anyone really trust the Justice Department that just dropped the charges, AFTER getting a conviction, against those Black Panther thugs that were intimidating voters at a polling place to be fair? I don't think so. I think they may be bringing this issue up again to deflect attention from their own actions even though it makes them look like fools for flip flopping so many times.

  • John - 17 years ago

Obama has to do something to get all the attention off his failing ratings and the healthcare debate.

So why not blame someone else for some other problem. He's just being a democrat.

  • Nancy - 17 years ago

Perhaps we should go back and look at the vidios made of the World Trade Centers. How do you imagine the people shown jumping from the windows felt? Don't you suppose it was terror more than they could ever had imagined? I watched to original films...I was horrified at the agoney those dear souls were facing. I'm a kind person, but remember we were expecting more horror to come. Thanks to President Bush, he kept it at bay. Now, I'm not sure what will happen. I had hoped President Obama would show the character to stand up to the radicals, and stand up for our homeland, and behind the CIA. I would advise anyone thinging of going into the secret service...DON'T YOU WILL BE PROSCUTED!

    The meaning of Hero
hero (male) and heroine (female) came to refer to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self sacrifice – that is, heroism – for some greater good, originally of martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence.
The word Hero is a lost word, used now in the worse possilbe way. If it's your job to save people that is what you are get paid to do.

It is obvious to everyone that when the American people of this country complain that he does not know how to handle it. I don't know who is advising him but he needs to fire all of them and get some sound advice. Wake up Mr. Obama!! The Health reform you have suggested is not good and the majority know it. We do not want to become another England or Iran or for that matter any European country. We want to remain "FREE" JUST LIKE THE CONSTITUTION SAYS.

  • Hank Swiencinski - 17 years ago

Hey, put me on the jury. I'd not only find those on trial NOT GUILTY, I'd fine any prosecutor and try to hold him personally responsible for recklessly putting anybody involved in this matter on trial! The government should start worrying about our economy, not trying to prosecute these heros.

We need to get up and speak up. Who's running this administration anyway? I don't believe it is Obama. There is someone behind him. I think he is just a front man.

  • elwood,

here are some words for the day. People who are under pressure will say anything to get it to stop. Ask some married men who have wifes that nag them to death., your boss when you have to finish a project. Your kids when they want something then and now. One last thing Bush and his little band of people broke the law on all levels when it came to the rules of war. Think man, think. Use your own mind to see the truth not all this BS that comes from FOX. Foxes near the hen house should be watched at all costs.
Still Having a good laugh in NJ because FOX NEWS is a joke.

I believe it's dying with dignity, I don't believe euthanasia is murder. I believe in evolution, I don't believe in God. I believe Ted Kennedy is a teatotaler, I don't believe Barney Frank is gay. I believe in welfare, I don't believe in hard work. If I wish upon a Democrat my dreams will come true. I believe, I believe, I believe.

All one has to do is read "The Ghosts" by Fred Burton, former Asst. Director of of DSC and you will see the type of individuals and groups we have been dealing with since the 1990s. The sad thing is that after Regan left office it bacame "unpopular" for us to deal with "the Base." Interogations are designed to get information to save lives....such are the rules of war and the terrorist have no rules.

  • Plant Earth - 17 years ago

Yes, about the same amount that Bush had working around him or maybe his IQ.

  • Jean Francoir - 17 years ago

Dear Mr. Plant Earth - You misread me - it's not hatred. I'm just fed up with political parties (mostly the dems) who give away everything in the name of compassion (LBJ's Great Society)and make an entire sector of the population dependent on the government for everything (mostly their vote). They don't realize for a moment the value of hard work and a job well done. They think money floats out of the sky and into their bank accounts - and if they do realize that someone earned those dollars first, they don't give a flying fart. A compassionate party might come to the realization one day that you can't give a person, young or old, anything of value that that person has not earned and expect that they will appreciate that thing of value. I never gave to my children what they didn't earn for this very reason. You see, I do hate, but righteously so - we are the greatest nation on earth or at least we have been until 52% of the electorate thought they could vote themselves a "pay" raise and then did. (BTW - do you know how many zeroes are in $9 trillion?)

  • subliminal - 17 years ago

yes, yes, and bloody well yes they should!

stop politicising - the more you spit out the Obama venom the worse off you'll be becuase you'll run out of it soon. You've got no choice but to agonisingly watch Obama/Democrats remaining in Power for the next 7 years or if not more - wake up to the reality and contribute to the growth of the country in a constructive manner.

I have a very little hope that this message will be aired but thought I would send it any way.

  • Hey Joe Irish, you want to know how and why this is happening just think Bush Admin., Bush Admin.........................................

  • K Schmidt - 17 years ago

Not only should the Justice Department investigate and prosecute anyone who abused prisoners, but they should also investigate the DOJ lawyers who wrote the torture memos. The success of the Bush Administration to keep the United States safe can not be measure by no terror attacks on American soild since 9-11, but the failure to protect the United States and the world from terrorism can be measured by the number of days since the Supreme Court awarded Bush occupancy of the White House.

  • Joe Citizen - 17 years ago

That's okay, let 'em. We'll kick a bunch of Dummycrats out of office in 2010, then the rest of the majority will be gone in 2012.

  • Joe Irish - 17 years ago

I find it no less than what I have come to expect of Obama. He is unqualified to be President and continues to show his lack of understanding of what is really important to the United States and what the people of this Country want. I only pray that God will reach down and straighten this man and his cronies out. If our forfathers could see this Obamanation they would have him standing before a Revolutionary Army firing squad. He and his henchmen are destroying this Country in less than 1 year into his administration. How in the hell is that possible? Are we really that stupid as a people?

  • Floyd E Scott - 17 years ago

Thia is just another attemp to shift the attention of the news and public from what President Obama is doing wrong. Everytime something is not going his way in the press they dig up old news and try to act if it somrthing new.

  • Some Democrat Victims (Charles Mason - Al-Qaeda) & - 17 years ago

Months after the events of 9/11/2001 World trade Center (which some consider an act of genocide towards Americans) some Leftists groups considered the events Justified because of USA Capitalism or Allies around the world. In coming years the 9/11 conspiracy theory manifested and the evolving theory harsh interrogation CIA methods came about. The CIA methods towards Al-Qaeda Terrorists have further evolved in accusations of so called 'torture' by ACLU , CBS , Seymour Hersh (Hersh has been accused of being 'very anti-Israel' , 'anti USA', & a bigot) , D-Patrick Leahy , D - Durbin , Michael Moore, Jimmy Carter , Etc. When the 'Abuse' photos were given to Mr. Hersh , Nobody Knew How he obtained the photos.
    ACLU History Lesson:
"Miami Herald 07/08/2008 -- When U.S. law groups announced in April that they were hiring the nation's top criminal defense lawyers to defend alleged al Qaeda terrorists at the war court here, one executive called the lawyers ``The A Team.' "
"The American Civil Liberties Union, which has pledged to cover costs of civilian lawyers defending the terrorists, is in a struggle with the U.S. Treasury Department over a permit to pay $250-an-hour fees and other expenses to attorneys"
"ACLU director Anthony Romero accused the Bush administration of foot-dragging, noting civilian defense lawyers were slow to receive security clearances to meet accused terrorists held for years without access to attorneys."
"'Now the government is stonewalling again by not allowing Americans' private dollars to be paid to American lawyers to defend civil liberties,'' he said."
The ACLU depends on the portrayal of Al-Qaeda suspects as Victims in order for them to Win Expensive Lawsuits , which (by Many) is considered to be their motivating factor along with poltical bias.
In Conclusion , Clearly, Many Democrats approved of the CIA methods back in 2002 (like Pelosi) But they made a political strategy after 2003 to Portray 'Al-Qaeda Terrorists' as Victims. Through Durbin , Jimmy Carter , ACLU , Seymour Hersh ,Patrick Leahy, CBS News , ETC. Al-Qaeda has been portrayed as Victims with 'abuse' photos , while No Real Torture Photos or Stories of Dictator empires has surfaced (Example: Hugo Chavez has performed Unspeakable Acts of Real torture towards Innocent Civilians that were were thought to have held anti-chavez poltical views).
Why Some Democrats have choosen this poltical strategy of imaging Al-Qaeda suspects as Victims of abuse, becomes a mystery , But one thing becomes Clear Now. Some Democrats are 'Solo' responsible for lowering the USA Image in the world through their Insistence that Al-Qaeda be portrayed as Victims , because of political bias.

  • INVESTIGATE HOLDER & Other Democrats - 17 years ago

Democrat George Tenet served as CIA Director from 1995-2004 and Democrat Eric Holder served as assistant attorney general in the 1990s to 2001. These two Democrats should be Investigated (If Anyone should be) about the so called 'torture memos' because they advised on these interrogation methods about al-qaeda terrorists in USA capture in the 1990s (and some methods that Bush used they came up with). if the New democrat administration wants Real ‘transparency’ then these two Democrats will be investigated on the alleged ‘torture’ memos (ALSO Investigate "Democrat Sandy Berger former nationa convicted national security director who Destroyed 'terror memos), if anyone should. When the Democrat administration volunteer the memos for public display , this caused Outrage and anti-USA rage in the world and further labeled the Al-Qeada terrorists as Victims. Many believe the DNC Party officials released the memos to 'demonize' the GOP , But it might of had another outcome.

The hypocrisy on this site is amazing....You guys whine about everyone else taking responsibility but when the issue comes up to take responsibility for the disaster of the last administration all you hear are the cries of "Move on!" "Forget the past!" The Bush Era has robbed this country of it's pride. We are no longer a shining example of how a country should be run. Your hateful, small minded attitudes about the proper treatment of prisoners is the problem! Faux news spreading misinformation and fear is the problem.

Obama is the criminal and his crime is treason! He should be banished to the Philippines where he is a citizen! FYI - that's the only way one can attend muslim school (as he did as a child when he was known as Barry Soetero) in that nation - if you can still find any info now! I'm of the belief, as is Philip J. Berg, Esq of Philadelphia (a Democrat who filed suit against him and many dems) that BO is not an American citizen and was ineligible to run for president. BO is not really the president - not my president, anyway. He's a pitiful embarassment - an unsightly boil.

How honest are the Democrats? When Clinton wanted to be re-elected for his second term he knew he had to pay off the huge deficit they had run up and balance the budget to stand a chance. What did he do, he robbed the Social Security interest account of billions to pay it off. If you think this isn't true just a little research on how fast it from billions to zero in a matter of days.
If it were above board why is Cllinton demanding none of the files pretaining to his time in office not be released for fifty years, even though the law says the have to be released after twenty-five, he still thinks he is above the law and we have to do what he says not what the law demands. Another media cover-up.

As a former Marine who has, like thousands of other Americans, have delt with these cowards, noboma's friends the animals who behead, hide in schools and torture American service members not to mention the civilians who have paid the price of reglious zelots, how can the liberals do what there doing. How can anyone who calls themself Americans, act to harm the country as well as those who are on the front line (C.I.A.) of this war. I have seen good friends die and suffer. I myself gave my lower spine in the service of our country and this is how we are thanked. This is how elitest liberals treat those they are suspose to protect. As far as I am concerned skin them alive if that what it takes to save Americans as well as cilivans around the world. GOD BLESS AMERICA and keep the faith you are Americans, stand and fight for what our forfathers worked so hard to build, THE GREATEST COUNTRY THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN.

  • Peter - 17 years ago

If you are a genuine conservative and a supporter of law and order, then you should support the Attorney General when he believes that sufficient evidence exists that a crime was committed. For any Attorney General to fail to do so, whether they are a Republican or a Democrat would be to violate their oath of office and their higher loyalty to the US Constitution. Do those who criticize, have so little respect for the constitution and the law that that oath means nothing to them?
It is also worth noting that many veteran interrogators and terrorism investigators from the FBI, CIA and Dept of Defense believe there SHOULD be an investigation because they feel that the abuses that did occur a) weakened America in the war on terror and b) violate basic professional ethics. Do those who oppose this investigation have so little respect for our intelligence professionals that they disregard this?

I am in the health field and went to New Orleans to voluteered but I have this to say about what went on there because it brings home just what a spoiled, depentdant nation we are becoming because the liberals believe is owed a living.
When I waas twent-one Iwas married to a military man and we were on the island of Guam. I had a six year old with the flu, a three day old baby and my husband was at sea when we were hit by a typhoon that made Katrina look like a spring shower and we were on our own. When it was over we could only clean up the mess and go on as best we could. Now instead of taking care of ourselves and each other we sit and whine because the government isn't taking care of them. If you watched the tapes of those people sitting on that bridge with their suffering children you may remember that cars were coming into New Orleans on that bridge which means there was a way out of there and if there is a way out and my child is suffering I'm not sitting on my rear waiting for some to come help. I'm carrying my children out of there, on my back if need be, and finding whatever I can to help and protect my children. It is past time we stop letting the liberals and psychologists brainwashing the American people into believing we can't survive if the government and these psychologists to take care of us. it is stand up and make it clear that we are the government and they are just our employees not our parents and their job is to repersent us not control us or to ignore our wishes. By the way this is what a Democrat said about the American people and his job on fox news.
Sen. Joe Sestak (D) said on Foxnews that this not a Democracy but a representative government and once elected it is in effect up to them to make the decisions. He stated that the majority no longer rules and the representatives are not elected to do as they, the people who eleceted, wish. If the majority does not rule then the wrong man is sitting in that senate seat because I believe he was elected by the majority of the votes

Some people just don't get it. They the Bush Admin. did things in the gray area of the law to do the things they did. To many to go in to as there are so many. The main one people should think about was the way they COLLECTED EVERYONE'S PHONE CALL WITHOUT A WARRANT. Yes that means you grandma, everyone. They could have went to the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court or FISC, but, did they and the answer to that is NO, i will say again NO. There is a saying with this words in it, "the things you do in the dark" "The truth will come out in the light". The Bush Admin lied so much they could no longer tell the truth. What you should do is step back and look at things for what that are with a clear mind and not from party lines. Look at it as if you had the power to make the call and use the same thought pattern when you are buying something for yourself. What if your neighbor could see and hear everything you were doing in your house and you find out, but the cops don't do anything and cover it up so no one knows anything about it. Would you be OK with that? The last part. The terrorist have no respect for Mankind and if we start acting like them, they will punish OUR SOILDERS in way that you can't even imagine.

  • Maria - 17 years ago

Whats going to happen if we have another major attack. GOD FORBID!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jay - 17 years ago

All you can say to this is WOW. This administration says one thing and does another all the time and here is another great example. Is it possible that we are trying to shift attention so we can slide something else past the American people? That hope and change thing is really working out for Terrorists really well. Good Job America on voting in the most liberal president ever.

This is pathetic. Is Obama pacifying the extreme left of his base because he can't deliver on Healthcare or Health Insurance or whatever he is calling it this week. It is amazing that the President has squandered all of popularity and leadership as he continues to shoot from the hip on everything that he touches. You would not have gotten this lack of leadership from President Bush even if you didn't like him.

  • Minneglo - 17 years ago

I still say we should all have a look at Obama’s birth certificate. The one they are showing with a green back ground is a new version of our birth certificates; I want to see the real one that was signed the day he was born with his foot prints on it. I have my original and the new version. The new isn’t anything like the one my parents were given when I was born. I know if this country is to press the president or the CIA to show the real one, no one should be satisfied with the one that the media is showing us just to shut us up.. Why would a military officer who was told his orders were to Afghanistan and went to the Pentagon and tell them he will not take orders from the president who claims to be born in this country and doesn’t produce the real one. The pentagon gave that officer another order. This is very interesting, don’t you think…………..One (Birther) who still wants to know

This is only to embarrass the Bush administration. This was war. You do what you have to do. Obama is a complete waste of time and better watch out when his administration is over. He will be investigated, he and his minions. How about if we investigate why Eric Holder dropped the case against the New Black Panther thugs who violated the rules at the voting place and threatened people and were armed. Was it because they are the same race perhaps and the blacks are getting a free pass?

It amazes me that at a time when this country, fresh off of 911 and awaiting a possible second strike, would find it necessary to malign those who wanted to keep us safe. Monday morning quarterbacking is easy, making on the spot decisions are alot harder. I wonder what we would find if we opened up files on the interrogation methods used during WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. And who codoned them? I find it hard to believe that everytime this administration comes under fire (Health care reform, Cap and Trade, Immigration etc.) the subject of investigating the CIA comes up. Coincidence?

  • minneglo - 17 years ago

Terrorists are not enemy combatants, and have no rights under the Geneva Convention. Any means used to garner intelligence from these terrorists which will save American lives is justified.
A suggestion: Use Scopalamine (sp) on these criminals and they will tell you what you want to know without any pain or discomfort.
Once again, terrorists are not enemy combatants, and have no rights under the Geneva Convention.

Torture is something that physically harms a person & causes excruciating pain, i.e. pulling out the fingernails, cutting off body parts such as fingers, ears or noses, inflicting bad burns or cuts If the police lying to a suspect to get an admission of guilt is not against the law, and it isn't, then PRETENDING to kill a terrorist in order to get information should not be against the law. There is a severe commom sense deficit in our country and, obviously, in Scotland, also.

  • Juanita M Matusky - 17 years ago

This is ridiculous and uncalled for. This administration needs to move on and quit hashing the past. We were kept safe during those times. Because of the manner that this administration is accommodating the terrorists, I wonder how long it will be before we have another attack. Obama needs to get his cabinet under control because they always seem to be misspeaking.

  • Scared - 17 years ago

Well you want people to obey they law. What about Obubu's Aunt that is here illegally and was told years ago to leave. She has not left and is hiding and Obub the President does not care about the illegal's in this country. He just want's to rip the true citizen's of this country a new one.

  • Ronnie - 17 years ago

They're terrorists for pete's sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who cares what happens to them.

  • Scared - 17 years ago

Obubu and the demogod's need to leave the CIA alone. I hope in the future when the CIA is needed for Obubu or any of them, they look the other way. They want to take the heat off of their sorry a$$es and put it back on Bush. Need to take your lumps demogod's there are so many more to come.

  • Bosan - 17 years ago

These comments show how little people understand the law. No president controls the legal system. Some how FOX News viewers believe (and are lead to believe) the president should have this type of power. Report the truth, our laws are to be followed by everyone. If someone disobeyed the law they should and will be prosecuted.

  • John L. Armstrong - 17 years ago

This is another classic alinskist PR stunt. When things are goning badly (or disasterously in the case of the Marxist street clown's reign of stupidity), manufacture a distraction, eg, "Bush Bad". Anything to get the idiotic health care rationing obamination off the front page!

  • Becky K - 17 years ago

This is a waste of taxpayer money, and Bam Bam's way of getting people to focus on something besides his crappy healthcare reform plan. I see this radical president's numbers going even lower.

  • Cile. T. - 17 years ago

I just got through reading a lot of info on Holder and it doesn't surprise me that he would defend thugs of the New Black Panther party and defend the terrorists if it meant damaging the Bush administration. Obama has no backbone fory sure, L. Davis is right. We have heard democrats say that themselves. He may try to stop Holder but we know who holds the power in their party. Let it go ahead. People are already disgusted with them. This is just one more reason to get them out and put people in who love this country. We are suppose to be defending our rights as a whole nation. Not just a few. And I am speaking of Citizens of this country.

  • Terry - 17 years ago

This administration is looking for every way possible to take the attention of their failures in the two wars, their health care debacle, the failures of their economic policies and our failing dollar. More of these antics will come as they drudge it up. On the backs of the taxpayers, of course! Another act bordering on treason by the administration! These people are shameless, self-absorbed finger pointers. Vote them out 2010/2012.

  • Elaina Tapley - 17 years ago

I don't care what was done or how it was done. The bottom line is did they achieve what they wanted. Did they get the much needed info that they were looking for while using the tactics that they were looking to get.
They all still have their heads on their shoulders don't they....

  • RHV - 17 years ago

I know we have treaties protecting these terrorists, but a lot of these treaties were made before our current set of problems, and new problems require new solutions. I also don't feel that the information in this report needs to be declassified - just gonna be used as propaganda for the terrorists. What's next to be declassified? Nuke locations? Come on Justice Dept.

  • kathy - 17 years ago

In times of war you do whatever it takes to get the info you need make threats cause assumptions or whatever as long as you aren't physically abusing them or with holding fold or water it should be allowed think of how they treated our POW's it's not like they treated our men with respect no they urinated on them made them eat slop kept them in cages with no real walls or roofs at least when we had the prisoners they were kept in a real place and not a hovel

  • michael - Wyoming - 17 years ago

This administration needs to move on. People need to remember the men, women, kids and families as the planes hit the buildings/ground at 300+ miles per hour. What type of pain did these Americans suffer in the last 2 minutes of their lives? Thank you President Busch for keeping the Country and my family safe - God Bless America and I cannot wait until the 2010 elections and the next Presidential election, people need to wake up!

  • Trish - 17 years ago

This was so predictable. Another diversion because he is having problems with his healthcare plan. Not allowed to disagree with the "Chosen One". Wake up America, those who voted for this guy unleashed a cancer in our government. A man who does not put his hand over his heart in the presence of our American flag is not to be trusted.

  • Mike - 17 years ago

    How Stupid can we Be!

  • L. Davis - 17 years ago

What's that sound... on it's the BACKBONE'S falling off our leadership in the country!

  • SAWB - 17 years ago

Let's see. Holder drops charges against the New Black Panther party for voter obstruction. But pursues bogus charges about mistreatment of terrorist.
    Really ?? Obama's administration is a total disgrace !!!!!

  • kmp06790 - 17 years ago

I can not understand this administration. I think the Justice department's name should be changed to "The Department of Injustice and Traitors". It is troubling enough to deal with the Scottish Justice system, now we are giving the enemy even more ammunition. Keep in mind, these folks are the folks that cut off children's hands and voter's fingers!

  • DC - 17 years ago

Attacking the CIA during a time of war is treason. Obama and Holder shouild be prosecuted... along with Polosi and Reid...

  • norma - 17 years ago

All of those "victims of torture" were allowed to live another day to kill innocent citizens. Quite unlike, Daniel Pearl and others who were killed by Al-Qaeda.

  • ShineASpotlight - 17 years ago

Its all part of the plan says: Another thing this does is to set the stage to shift attention off the health care debate as the August recess ends.

    DO NOT BE MANIPULATED.

Everyone needs to stay focused to the task at hand.

    NO GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE.

  • Tom Becker - 17 years ago

This clearly is a move to deflect attention away from the health care reform debacle. In doing so, the hope is that the American people will not pay attention to what the administration is attempting to do, i.e., takeover the U.S. healthcare system.

Well hello! We're not going away and we're not giving up the fight on healthcare!

  • Uecker7 - 17 years ago

Does the Obama administration want every experienced CIA field officer to quit? This current boneheaded manuever will will lead to their early retirement. We cannot afford to get caught with our pants down like we did on 9/11. Clinton's legacy was to dismantle the CIA, will Obama do the same?

  • Judy B - 17 years ago

Well just one more thing to mess this country up. We have always known that the CIA perfermormd covert activities that we just did not want to think about. They keep us safe and do things that "I" nor the huge majority of Americans would ever want to do.
We are now suppose to treat Terrorists with kid gloves while they behed and worse anyone of our people they can get ahold of.
The CIA should be left alone and kept quiet so our enemies will profit from what they, the Seals and others can do to them and keep us safe. Sure it is ugly and hard to think about but we have freedom BECAUSE those before us and those today are willing to "FIGHT" for it.
"Who dose Obama care about those that want to kill us or America???"
And it is a GREAT way to take attention off the healthcare as someone else said. He gets that passed and we will see not only a limited HMO excistence bug we will also see the END of research. TB killed the most in the early 1900,s then mid 1900 heart quickly became NOT the leading cause of death then cancer which now we are seeing survivors. All that but many other diseases which have been brought under control and cured AND ALL BECUASE OF RESEARCH. As fast as Research and the health care field have been ablet to cure diseases another cropps up.

  • Bill - 17 years ago

Obama and Eric Holder, the idiot who pardoned crooks under Clinton, protect their own (i.e., dropped charges against Black Panthers and ACORN terrorists, and crony crooks from Chicago) but prosecute and persecute American patriots trying to protect us. Stupid-is, Stupid does!

  • Mary - 17 years ago

The main problem with revealing CIA actions to the public is that the administration is publicizing this to THE WORLD, which includes our enemies. Not a smart idea, not even if the CIA is in the wrong. They will be putting out troops in more danger. They need to make "in-house" changes and firings where needed. I'm certain the CIA performed some extreme actions. But, during a time of war, decisions are made for the safety of our country. We just have to trust that. Also, one administration's opinions will always vary from another's administration. I believe this to be a huge mistake for Obama.
