I have been a fan of FNC since our cable company started carrying it. They are much more balanced than the other alphabet networks and ask the questions that need to be asked. I'll never go back to the other networks for news again.

When will you stop laying blame on FOX news. It is not there fault they tell the truth. TRUTH HURTS. Cant candy coat this HUH. Please Stop destroying everything WE THE PEOPLE stands for.

  • Carol - 14 years ago

I am voting for FOX. I believe they are 99% truthful. The White House is so far below that percent I am ashamed to print it (in my opinion)
    Keep going FOX

  • DesertCactus - 14 years ago

In the last election I believe that many American's reached for the stars and came up with a handful of mud. All the other networks tell us we have stardust in our hand; whereas Fox news says it looks like mud, feels like mud and smells like mud: it must be mud! Those with stardust in their eyes are simply furious. If only Fox had fallen in line with the rest of the Socialist media. Darn!

I watch all cable news - no network news, though. Whenever anything of any importance happens in the world I immediately turn to Fox but monitor a matrix of the other channels on "Direct TV." I jump from Channel to Channel and Fox, without exception, almost always has the better and most informative news coverage because they are not trying to hide anything negative that might upset the liberals, as the other cable-news stations do. Anyone else notice this? More on the cabal that has taken Washington at www.can-you-hear-us-now.com.

    87% AGAINST the White House?

What a wonderful number. Not everyone is a sheep that wants to follow Obama down that path to censorship and everything else that comes with it. Do you think if the Obama admin is allowed to walk over a legitimate news organization that something else isn't soon to follow? It shows the callous disregard for truth that Obama has - not to mention the idiots around him.

We should all take a good hard look at who he's surrounded himself with. Granted - the aren't all Van Jones in their makeup - but some are very close.

And whats he doing about jobs? Trying to stuff a health care agenda by calling it a 'jobs bill' is stupid. Most of us see it for what it is. a grab on the wealth of us all - coupled with the so-called Climate Change he would - if allowed - bankrupt us all.

Resist this loon - and the loons Pelosi and Reid. Both are up for re-election next year and I smell blood in the water - and it ain't fish I smell.

  • RealNews - 14 years ago

It was an NPR reporter who hosted one of the debates and then wrote a book telling all about the great Obama. I voted for Obama, and I love NPR...but this one is over the top and out of line. Perhaps if we stop our donations to NPR the balance will return. I'm sad that NPR has become so one sided and even more sad that my President allows the attempt to slience the oposing view. This sounds like Bush attacking what we voted in! Where is the change? Is debate no longer healthy?

  • Stanley Thal - 14 years ago

It seems every day the current administration is encrouching more and more on its citizens rights to protec themselves and determine their own destinies. What ever happened to personal responisibility and accountability. I don't need the government to hand feed me or my family. Threatening to put a curb on the freedom of expression is just another in road to forcing government dependence denial of self determination. Obama and his brood are the most danagerous thing that has happened to this Country during my lifetime and I am truly concerned.

  • ScepticSam - 14 years ago

This is just the beginning, folks. Get rid of the sources of 'Unfair Bias' to this administration, and the next thing will be our freedom to speak. This administration has the audacity to cry "Foul" because FOX has a more conservative approach to reporting, yet will not acknowledge that all of the others, ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN,NPR, and on and on (in no particular order) are as Liberal as the "Liberal Left". Letting the masses hear the truth is unacceptable because it exposes the administration's 'not so honest activities. It seems I recall another 'ambitious' leader back in the '30s that silenced all opposition to carry out his ambitions. Let's not let this happen again!!!

  • Quint - 14 years ago

I've listened to NPR in vain for years, hoping to hear "balance" in their news shows... it rarely comes through. FOX NEWS, on the other hand, often presents impartial information... and when they present information with a slant, I feel they usually at least present an offsetting slant. Consequently, I count on FOX and continue to monitor NPR for comparisons...

  • Virginia - 14 years ago

This treatment of Fox News and the treatment that conservative talk radio will receive in the future should not be news to anyone. This is a radical administration who is attempting to make the United States the newest and largest "Banana Republic" Chavez better watch out!

  • Rose Rhodes - 14 years ago

If you want the real news, listen to FOX. People have the right to hear both sides of a story or subject, before the White House takes our freedom of speech away. The White House wants to have you hear there opinion only, if they can't control you, then shut them up. What are they so afraid of, THE TRUTH. More people are starting to listen to FOX, because even if they don't agree with them, then the freedom to disagree is still there.

  • Lou L - 14 years ago

All "news" reporters should be able to report the news equally. All the "other" programs such a Rush, Hannratty, Beck, Obermann, Rachel , etc, are nothing more that visual market tabloids and I pay no attention to them either. Have you noticed they are all referred to as Talkers, Talk Show Hosts, and not one is a Reporter of the news that is.

  • gary s - 14 years ago

Isn't this the country of FREE SPEECH? How dare the White House try to "quiet" an opposing view. I find the practice of the Obama Camp very "unamerican". People should hear both sides of a discussion....not the one that the White House wants the public to hear.

  • BILL WEBB - 14 years ago

WHAT WOULD YOUR LIBERAL BIAS BE IF YOU WERE SUBSIDIZED BY THE

A picture is worth 12,000,000,000,000 words!! Debt is the opposite of posterity and prosperity; which is where we are now and will forever be if we allow the present administration to continue on its rampage of big spending. So all I have to say is for FoxNews to keep up the "pressure" on an overzealous government; which seems to be leaning toward everything anti-.
Anti-Constitution, Anti-Freedom of speech, Anti-Capitalism, etc. So my challange is to go to this link http://www.rallycongress.com/freedomworks/2536/ and take action

  • victor - 14 years ago

The "Conservative " machine in this country has gone from being the balanced and reasonable voice during the days of Ronald Reagan, to being the voice of a handfull of old surpassed war mongers, that at all costs drive our youth into wars of no cause but their own. Fox news has been nothing but a mouth piece of these points of view and old geezers. God bless them, they make a living at it, but their ignorance jumps in vivid colors every time they comment on political issues. The fact that they insist on their slogan "fair and balanced", should be an indication that in fact, they are all but that. I am sure this poll does not reflect the views of the majority of the american people. I mean....Obama, not these dangerous war fanatics won, didn't he?

  • Vince - 14 years ago

Has anyone been watching the new seasonal TV show called “V” televised on ABC channel 7 Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM EST? If you have doesn’t it appear that the writers of this new show are trying to get a message out to the American people about exactly what is happening within our own government today? The story line is that aliens have come to earth as friends in twenty-nine space crafts, hovering over major cities worldwide with new hope for the people. These aliens have slowly infiltrated our country over the past 17 years without our knowledge and positioned themselves in various areas throughout our government and private sector. Now that they are secretly positioned they appear as friends (Barack Hussein Obama and his appointed staff) telling the American people and the rest of the world that they’ve come in piece and will give us HOPE and CHANGE.

“The Visitors are here – V”

“The Visitors arrived in twenty-nine space crafts, hovering over major cities worldwide. They came with a mission to spread hope. They are here to help humans with their knowledge and their intelligence. Or so they would like us all to believe.”

If you haven’t viewed this series I think you should, and see how the story line makes it appear that the program writers are trying to tell the American people and the rest of the world of what is happening today without actually involving them selves in a very political and dangerous situation, only to be treated as the FOX News is being treated today by the Obama administration.

Even if this is not true; “that the writers of the seasonal TV program V want to get a message out to the American people” it’s a must watch series.

  • T. Jindra - 14 years ago

Why does this President want to control everything? We are a democracy and freedom of speech was provided by our fore fathers. Yes I feel that the 3 major news networks are biased and I do watch Fox to get the total picture. In less then a year in office, this administration has caused a lot of hardship for America. Why censor our rights!

  • Scott - 14 years ago

These results show the makeup of the viewership of NPR. There is no integrity in the commentators in that they clearly have vot listened to Fox. I listen on occasion to both networks. Fox has employees, commentators and guests as far left as Barney Frank. See for youself. You'll like the feeling you get knowing both sides.

  • Denise - 14 years ago

It is appreciated that other news channels support the right of Fox to cover news.
They may realize that if FOX is eliminated, it is simply a matter of time that ALL the news markets will be boycotted. They would be ALL be lined up, like large dominos, ready to fall. Last week we saw the symbolic dominos fall in East Berlin. Those honored the 20th yr of freedom from the presence of the Famous Berlin Wall. If our press is 'gagged", and our TV stations & churches are restricted in speech, will we see a symbolic equivalent to this famous wall being erected in America? Our freedoms & protections of the constitutions Must be upheld! Will we fight to retain the freedoms that our ancestors fought & died to protect? If we claim America as our home, we must claim freedoms for all! Even those we disagree with. It makes my freedom much more valuable! Differenting views by ALL MUST be protected!

I have to say this is a very interesting statistical data here, from many facets. My statistics professor in college said, "Polls can be like a pretty girl in bikini, your mind see's more then what's being revealed." So, compare the two obvious points of this poll, the total amount of votes goes to free speech @ 87%...YEA! that's a good thing I hope. But a liberal goverenment funded outlet who's views politically gets 12% I'm writting this as of 8:10pm 11/15/09 - Not sure when the data stream will end, or who is going to report this "fairly" 1st?
Bill O'Rielly or the N.Y.Times. Guess we will see? Waiter, another Heitz Cab please....

evident that fox news is giving out the straight skinny is the fact that mrs dunn could not take the heat and is now quitting the white hosue as has others before her. fox news gives us the truth and I would never watch the liberal stations for they imbue hatred amongst us Americans. God Bless America

  • robert moss - 14 years ago

Did you say that NPR is not biased toward the left ? What should I believe, That statement or my own ears ?

  • d mish - 14 years ago

I thought this was America! Why is it that some people can have freedom of speach, while others can't? And if you think CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS are not "biased" you have your head in the sand.
First Obama took control of the banks, then the car companies (good for you Ford!) and now they want to take control of what we watch and listen too...sounds very much like communism to me!

  • TB - 14 years ago

The White House is playing dirty politics and everyone who disagrees with them is considered racist and trouble makers. Name one thing Fox has falsely reported. Sure the White House wants to stop Fox from exposing their unconstitutional agendas.

  • CARL HURST - 14 years ago

There is NO unbiased news available from the mainstream in the USA anymore. It is pure fantasy. It is info-tainment from the right as well as the left. It is a scam that keeps Americans distracted, off-guard, and polarized with the use of drivel. We are SO easily manipulated. News is a tool of business. It is a tool of major corporations with a bottom-line profit and power motive. Fact. TV has become an opiate of our masses. Our very understanding of how society should operate is shaped by the average of seven hours of television watching a day by Americans.

Having said that, ANY person, journalist, or news organization that puts our government of republicrats (and I emphasize RATS, and it matters NOT which party is in power, since officials are "Selected, not Elected") on the defensive and makes them answerable to their employers, the citizens - has my vote.

With the absolute debacle the current administration is making of our industry, economy, the dollar, and the social fabric, with greater federal and military policing power and intrusion into the lives of the citizenry, it just happens that this time it is Fox that is standing up to the bullying from the administration. Even healthcare is just a distraction to greater damage being wrought. Healthcare is already socialized medicine, and those who don't understand this need to go and do their homework.

Hats off to Fox in this engagement. This is but the first of many skirmishes and battles that will be fought for the liberties of Americans of all political persuasions.

  • Kathy Paulus - 14 years ago

Of course the Obama whitehouse hates Fox News. They are the only real news organization left that isn't in the tank for Obama. They are fair and balanced but ask the tough questions. We don't even bother with the mainstream news any more. We are very middle-of-the-road moderates and they are way too liberal for us.

  • Mrs P - 14 years ago

I thought my Mom invented "Talk Radio" with all of those pre-Rush years spent listening to her talk back to your NPR news broadcasters. Growing up with NBC, CBS, ABC and NPR, my Mom's frustrated replies to the radio offered the only counter to the monolithic, one-sided "news" voice. When does NPR sound ANY different than all the others? When does Fox? Hmmm....now that could explain what has Rahm ready to haul out his pointy elbows!

  • Bill - 14 years ago

Obama's White House reminds me of Hitler , in the late 1930's , controlling Germany's news media and burning all educational books.

  • Waunda Kee - 14 years ago

I really like many things about FOX but one of the best is they report the good, bad and ugly, even if the ugly (the way conservatitves are seen) is the side I stand with most of the time. Isn't news suppose to be reality and truth instead of opinions and an attitude that says I want it this way no matter how it really is. Unlike Liberal "Dem-rats" we conservatives don't see ourselves as having arrived at the perfection stage, but we are always striving to learn, reach and give something better. There are many in power that have a rude awakening day when they find they as well as the public know they ARE NOT perfect and their lies become their bondage. Truth is what sets us free.

  • gneubeck - 14 years ago

IF" Obama is successful in implementing his Socialized Health Care Reform -and- his commercially destructive Cap and Tax legislation, the economic recovery WILL BE aborted; and, this Nation WILL EXPERIENCE a double-dip recession; and, IN ALL PROBABILITY, an economic contraction far worse. Fiscal circumstances which will be exacerbated by the pending expiration of the Bush tax cuts which, as a result of expanded child tax credits and earned income tax credits, reduced the share of individual income taxes paid by the bottom 40% of American taxpayers from 0% to -4%; and, took another ten million low income Americans completely off of the tax roles. The expiration of the Bush tax cuts will lead to a $2.4 trillion tax increase over the next decade. One would instinctively ask: "Does the man NOT have the minimal economic acumen to realize that our struggling economy DOES NOT HAVE the resiliency to absorb such massive tax increases from these multiple societal adjustments at this precarious moment?". But, the question necessitates a failure to acknowledge that it's Obama's obvious intention to destroy the free-enterprise structure that has made America the most prosperous Nation in the history of mankind; and, to replace it with the Socialist structure from his native Kenya. Obama is in fact the "Reparator In Chief"; and, will willingly resort to the thuggery techniques that he employed as a "Community Agitator" in Chicago to achieve his objectives. Take a moment, and reflect on the financial millstone that the Obama agenda is hanging on your children's future potential for achieving prosperity! Obama's perverted view of American society is unequivocally reflected in his choice of the White House TSARS. Individuals who reflect some of the most radical extremist philosophies on the political scene. While refusing to be beguiled by the nebulous psychosis of "HOPE", each American should accept the obligation to research the background on Obama's TSAR corps. Research which will expose those who ridicule others "who cling to their Bibles", while they seek their own guidance from Mao's "Little Red Book". Just minimal review verifies that the Obama agenda is anathema to EVERY patriotic America who reveres our Constitution; and, the heritage espoused by our founding fathers. Obama's Marxist psyche simply WILL NOT ACCEPT the concept of American "exceptionalism"; and, compels him to apologize for America's world status at every opportunity. And, belay the "racism" nonsense. As noted in a recent Scottish cartoon: "Barackside WON'T cure your pimples as claimed; but, it sure as heck will deplete your wallet." ; and, unfortunately substantially more in the process. If we are to preserve our cherished heritage, it's essential that we precipitate an electoral Tsunami in 2010. Greg Neubeck

  • Natalie W - 14 years ago

This just shows the lack of self confidence that Obama has. When Bush was in office all news stations other than Fox, most times, spent their time bashing him- daily, for years. Obama comes into office and one conservative station voices opinions that are not agreed upon with liberals and the "White House" wants to revoke the first amendment. It seems like every week I am hearing about another tactic they are trying to find a loophole through breaking amendments. I am angry that this is our President.

  • Bob Weatherford - 14 years ago

How blind does the Whitehouse staff and our President think we are? Just getting elected does not mean that you are right on every issue, Mr. President! I think someone is just trying to get our attention turned to something other than the Health Care Reform bill long enough to pass it in the night or on a weekend without so much coverage.

Stop Fox News and they will stop us from learning the truth in time to say a word about it. How much more of our country is China going to have as collateral without us hearing about it? A hell of a lot if Fox News isn't around to tell us what is actually happening to our money!

  • Vince - 14 years ago

Maybe the other news networks will take money and other bribes from the big government to report only good news about our representatives in Washington, but I am glad that we have at least one news network that is true to the people and that is FOX. Thank you for asking those questions that a largest percentage of the U.S. population has about Obama and his appointed aids.

Each time a question is asked and they don’t answer then you can be darn sure the answer is damaging to them. Please keep up the great work FOX, you are doing what the people want and not taking the enticements offered by these guys to enable them to hide truths that will damage their machine as they try to turn our country into a socialist nation.

Freedom of the press and freedom of speech is one of our only defenses against this Obama socialist takeover, of our beloved country.

    May God watch over us.

  • Paul Free Unbiased - 14 years ago

Lot of messed up people here. I like to know what is going on and make up my own mind. Shame on you for letting Fox News or Rush Dimbaugh make up your mind for you. After George Bush Alfred E Newman could run this country!

  • mike c - 14 years ago

Stop all the talking, what needs to be done is to vote the dems out starting next November. Get everyone thinking one thing and unite to show them where they need to be, anywhere but in DC voting to change America for the worst. Everybody who is a real American needs to get out the vote against these blantantly irresponsible people. All the talking and posting is good, but we have got to band together and unite to vote these incompetent people out, please work on that.

Anyone who thinks there is not a liberal bias in the mainstream media must have there heads in the sand or are just not listening to what is being said or written. The Obama state run stations support this administration no matter what they do. Wake up people, the economy is being ruined and the Constitution is being trashed. At least Fox news presents boths sides and is the only place one can get the truth.

I would expect the poll run by NPR would have the expected results as 95% of its listeners lean far to the left. The negative Fox comments tell me that those people do not watch it regularly. Their comments come from what they read or hear from the mainstream media.

  • Dan - 14 years ago

If you think most media in the U.S. is liberal you are drinking the hate radio pundit’s cool aid! I’ve traveled all over the world and our media leans right in comparison. Research study after research study shows that journalists consider themselves centrists on both economic and social issues (leaning slightly right on economic issues and slightly left on social issues). Media in the U.S. is owned by huge corporations and the majority of those that run these organizations are conservatives. If our media has a bias it is a corporate bias and not a liberal bias. Instead of just listening to the talking heads or the hate radio “celebrities”, do some research on your own.

  • Matt - 14 years ago

I find it amusing how everyone argues on how a news outlet is biased. All news media, including TV, Newspaper, or internet is biased. News is reported by people. People have opinions and views. Opinions and views show bias. Everyone needs to get over it. If you don't like the media outlet then choose one you don't like instead of trying to shut out those you don't. It is called freedom of speach. There are more important things going on in this county other than what spin did a news media put on a story.

  • Allan - 14 years ago

NPR is a liberal media. One thing I notice, it very rarely delivers 'good news'. Most of the mainstream media are driven by folks who don't seem to very happy about anything. On the other hand Fox people really enjoy their work.

My liberal friends should tune in once in awhile.

  • Randy - 14 years ago

I don't care if it's Fox News, NPR or Pravda. the White House, Congress or the individual States, have no business or authority to infringe on a free press.

What worries me is that Czars aren't constitutional either.
They've taken no oath, and some are self-avowed followers of Mao & Marx.
These guys "don't need no freakin'Constitution".

I grew up in communist Cuba with no freedom of speech. That is scary. Freedom of speech. Freedom......Let the people decide what to believe.....

  • looking forward to 2010 - 14 years ago

Name one conservative on NPR! My guess is that very few intelligent people ever listen to NPR. NPR wouldn't even be on the air now if not for Government subsidies, so who cares about their unscientific poll? They just plan to use it for more liberal propaganda.

I'm waiting to see their poll on whether MSNBC is biased. I just hope the Whitehouse and the liberal media outlets continue to ignor people outside of New York, Washington, Chicago and LA in anticipation of the 2010 election. I don't think they have any sense of the level of frustration that's out here.

  • Helen - 14 years ago

I listen mostly to FOX News because I agree with most of their comments. Sometime I listen to the other networks to see what they are saying so I can know for myself what they are saying. If the WH thinkgs FOX is bias what about Chris Matthews? He is so far left I can hardly watch him. Anyway, in this great USA don't we have freedom of speech? At least, FOX has views of the Liberals too and make no mistake, most of the time FOX disagrees but isn't that what debate is about? GO FOX! PLEASE KEEP INFORMING US WHAT IS HAPPENING.

  • Vivian - 14 years ago

I bet NPR won't broadcast these results.....LOL people are starting to see the truth on what's really going on. Thanks to all you People who are standing up to protect our country from the liberals and Obama fans..... Thank You.

  • Doris Chariker - 14 years ago

Fox News is the only channel that tells the truth. At least they are honest in their assessment. The other news channels are so liberal biased they don't know what the truth really is.

  • roger - 14 years ago

The Whitehouse and this administration are slanted, that is the problem. Anita Dunn--loves murderer Mao, Van Jones, self-avowed commie, Obama--i just want to redistribute your wealth. They are basic Marxists. Why do they fight that label so hard, when it such a good fit.

  • Chas - 14 years ago

What a ridiculous poll for NPR to run. Fox is a great news outlet. They are truly fair and balanced. The left just has a hard time with the truth. And by NBC's standards, Fox is not touchy feely enough for them. Go FOX!

  • Mark Sullivan - 14 years ago

Every news program is biased. Every. Single. One. Fox News should exist because it is the balance to CNN, NPR, and basically everything else besides Fox News. We have a Democrat in the White House. Liberals should take that as a win and let the conservatives have their mouthpiece pundits. I don't like everything on Fox News, in fact I dislike most of it. But the media requires balance. I just wish Fox News would stop with the "Fair and Balanced" line. It's obvious they are a conservative network. They should just admit it.

  • renee - 14 years ago

oh, come on- like the other stations aren't liberaly slanted? and yes, it does seem VERY weird that the the white house is trying to sensor who can report what. . . that freakin scares the crap out of me- it's a WAY bigger problem than weather or not fox news is slanted to conservatives. I wasn't aware of the fact that the government was allowed to take over the broadcasts like that- oh, yah- they can't cause there's that sticky little amendment thing about freedom of speech.

  • JM - 14 years ago

Obama is one of the biggest babies I have ever seen. It's his way or the highway. He is the worst President we have ever had and needs to go. Along with him Pelosi, Frank, Reid, Dodd, all CZARS, Biden plus others that I can't think of all need to go. I want my America back and they are taking it away from us.

I love watching FOX News - it's the only one that digs in and tells what exactly is happening.

FOX keeps us updated on the Healthcare mess, which we don't need. I like my healthcare and don't want it taken away from me. Also, I don't want some idiot making medical decisions whether I live or die. Leave us alone you idiotic democrats.

  • Mrs.Carol America.free - 14 years ago

I listen to NPR just to see how far from the truth the liberal media and liberal-thinking people can go without someone noticing! Then I listen to Fox news and can objectively compare the two. Fox News is the winner....for sure re: fair and balanced news reportting and commentary.

  • Paul Harman - 14 years ago

Opinions should not be censored whether we agree with them or not. What made our country great is the ability for anyone of us to stand up and speak our minds and not be imprisoned for a dissenting view. Yes, some crazy's speak their minds too, but it is important for all of us to read through the chaf and come up with an informed opinion of our own, not necessarily believing either point of view has the whole story until all the facts are in. It is also our right to listen to whatever points of view we believe are more factual or less biased. The more news stations we have the better reporting we will see, getting the story right, and accurate is all about keeping listeners.

As Americans we have that right to choose to vote for whom we believe will do the best job for the country. If the candidate doesn't stick to his/her promises and takes the country down the road to ruin, it is important to vote for a new candidate at the next opportunity. We are lucky we can choose whom will govern us, many millions in other places don't get the chance.

  • rron - 14 years ago

The White House has very little experience having to answer hard questions requiring verifiable facts, so it is understandable that they would get angry when they appear ilprepared or out right lying. Any political organization that had to work their way up the food chain, instead of being gifted with their position, wuold have at least manufactured believable lies.

I vote with my remote and watch FNC. I also occasionally watch CNN, ABC etc. I listen to NPR in my car until it is just too left biased and I switch to music. The only place to hear/watch conservative views presented fairly is Fox News.

  • Free thinking southerner - 14 years ago

Fox News is an adjunct of the Republican Party and right-wing corporate lobby tanks. Fox News has coarsened our culture, sown deep social division, and made a mockery of our political process.

The free press is meant to function as one of our democratic checks and balances. It is not meant to manipulate, deceive, and divide the populace by pandering to fear and ignorance for the political and financial gain of corporate elites.

I will never understand why Fox is allowed to exist in this country. Fox is the antithesis of a free press and contradicts our core values as a nation. This is a perversion of the First Amendment.

I view Fox News as a gross abuse of political and financial power, and it is dangerous.

    Please lobby for media reform.

  • Brianne - 14 years ago

And my question is -Are CNN, CBS, and NBC not biased networks? What world are we living in? I guess liberals just don't like it when they are the ones in the hot seat. Poor President Obama- its not fun when people start examing your policies and report the discrepencies; is it?. Yet, no one complained when news anchors on CBS and NBC made negative remarks against President Bush. Who cares if the President gets his feelings hurt about what's reported on Fox News; Freedom of Speech- watch another network if you don't like it. You can't ostracize a network because you (as President) don't like what they report. This is not a dictatorship- well not yet anyways. Americans are beginning to realize what a socialist Obama is. When are people going to realize that the government can not run anything well- public schools? welfare? medicaid? medicare? and now healthcare? Seriously!! Americans need to get off their lazy, ignorant tails and educate themselves on the decisions that are being made for them by their representatives, senators, and President.

    What's an NPR anyway?

  • Gloria - 14 years ago

This admin. has already shown it's true colors. If they get away with censoring free speech and press, that is the next step to turning our country from a democratic sociiety so SOCIALISM. Since when does a president and congress dictate what the people should or should not do??? What happened to our constitution??? When are the American PEOPLE GOING TO STAND UP AND SAY "ENOUGH""? Between the white house and Ms Pelosi, they are hell bent on detroying our country and I for one am HOPPING MAD. I'm a registered democrat who will vote for anybody who isn't one from now on.

How many networks allow anti - Obama rhetoric on news programs?
    ONE.
    (Fox)
How many networks allowed anti - Bush rhetoric on news programs?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine..
(ABC, CBS, NBC / MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ect, ect, ect..)

How often did Bush publically complain about his critics?
Once? Twice? Four times MAYBE tops? ..In eight years!

How often has Obama publically complained about his critics?
"I inherited this war..", "We inherited a debt..", "..the problems this administration has 'inherited'" ..
Didn't he campain for two+ years, raising record funds and begging to GET the Presidency? He didn't "inherit" anything. He was elected!

    Mister President Nobel Loriette,
You wanted the job. We gave you the job. Man up! Stop whining.

I expect better from the highest office in the land.

fox news is full of a bunch of right wingers with an agenda. they are about as objective as the state owned media in a dictatorship.

  • patriot - 14 years ago

looks like fox new's is winning now :)

  • Dennis - 14 years ago

I am very disturbed at the lengths, in regard to media, that the present administration is using to push it's agenda and stiffle oppositon. Nobody should be so naive as to expect the complete support of the people, and attepting to silence opposition is un-American. Political leaders should remember that we are still a self-governing people and they are elected to represent the will of the people. Our Constituition and the Laws of this Great Country have all been forged through a diversity of people working together for a government that ensures Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness to all Americans. There are plenty of other governments out there that stiffle and oppress oppostion--it is against our constitution to do that!

On a side note, I was shocked to hear on PBS kids TV the other day a program that exhibited school children getting the flu vaccine. "I just got the flu vaccine and I feel great" one of the kids was saying. Come on people--whatever your thoughts on flu vaccine, it's not a decision that 4-8 year old kids are capable of making for themselves! Talk about propaganda!!

Way to go Carol Storm, I listen to all news stations but like Fox the best because they aren't stuffed in the WH hip pocket asking what they should say on the next issue. Fox tells it like it is, like it or not. The news media already reports only what they want us to know/hear and not actuality. My son in law was in Iraq, all we hear here is the bad things we do over there, they rarely mention all the good things. They are very good at reporting our next moves and where they are located though, so they will be good targets, I am saying CNN and MSNBC. FOX hasn't been bought and paid for, so lets keep at least one news media reporting facts. I am a proud American, so don't take away my freedoms, my flag, my prayer, my religeon and all that has made America the great place it was and is still struggling to be, with so many trying to CHANGE it to be like other countries...............FOX stands behind America and if you don't like what they have to say, don't listen, but don't silence them just because they don't speak what you want to hear.

I have read some of the comments and my opinion is that the major news networks are under the control of the gov't. when all of the pre election rederic the major news channels all were Bias for Obama. The opinions of the news were very evident. Most of the reporting was pro Obama. Everyone all giddy over Obama. Obama this and that. All citizens of this country should be concerned at what is developing here in our beautiful America. Our country is on the fast trac to socialism yep I said it. Not just because of the healh care and not just because we have leaders that are tring to rewrite the constitution on a daily basis but because a true Democracy requires more than two parties to work. The media only reports on the two parties. Thomas Jefferson writes that multi party system is the only way to keep our checks and balances under control and multi party does not mean 2 sure the media will throw out Independent once in a great while but we have allowed ourselves to believe that the two parties is all that matters and any person that speaks against or supports any party other than the 2 are radicals or even worse. Its is time for our country to face the facts that we as a nation have allowed the government to dictate to the people not the people telling the government what to do

  • Harry T Risley - 14 years ago

I feel that it is wrong for either party to be arguing over this. No matter how the news is reported, the populus should be given the benifit of doubt on their ability to read or hear the real part of the issue being reported. It is the ammendant Freedom of the Press, and no matter how it is looked at, the public shoulbe allowed to make their own decisions. For the White House to get into a he said-she said issue is way beneath them. Does the president relaize that he is only going to be a one term presesident and is trying to stack the deck the deck in his favor at a early stage. No reporter should be barred from reporting the news whether they are liberal or conservative, unless what they are saying is a TRUE THREAT to this country Arguing with the press or throwing money around will not solve all or even some of the many problems this country now faces.the White House has more serious issues to work on and not worry about how a reporter reports the news.

  • Rick Weinert - 14 years ago

FOX NEWS is the only news channel to watch to hear the truth in the news. ALL other news shows are extreme left and do not report the news correctly.

  • Evelyn Turner - 14 years ago

Hey! someone has to speak up. I thought I heard "Transparancy " some time ago. So what do many think this means? If there is nothing to hide then no worry! The fist thougt that came to my mind, and I'm sorry to have to say this, but when I heard the word czars I right away thought about Hitler and Stalin. I thought the government was to answer to the people not to a one man panel. There seems to be so many things going wrong today, one needs answers

  • Albert J. Beddy - 14 years ago

Fox News asks the questions the representives of the American people including the White House must answer. This administration wants to silence any disagreement with their agenda. This administration wants to remove free speach from America.

  • RobinGrace - 14 years ago

I just read one of the comments that objected to other folks being told about the poll and to vote. This makes no sense, you have a poll and dont want people to come vote? LOL. geez, what is up with that

When I am responded too in a disrespectful way, I respond to that person in a disrespectful way. Shame on you for judging me without knowing the whole story.

  • Wendy - 14 years ago

Adam, cant you respond like a respectful human being without calling others who disagree with you or dont respond to you, ugly names! Shame on you!!!! That said, I agree with the majority on this site. 80% of the broadcasting on Fox is actual news! CNN has Larry King, Anderson Cooper, and others. They dont report news 100% of the time either. I go back and forth between the two and I did notice something that alarmed me last tuesday night(election night). While Fox was broadcasting Corzine conceding the race, CNN was still reporting that the race was too close to call with only 80% of the votes in!!!! Did anyone else notice that? To my knowledge, CNN didnt even show the speech of either democrat conceding their races. If that isnt leaning in one direction!

  • BenZ - 14 years ago

The first step in any tyrannical take over is to control the media...control the flow of information and direct it in the most appealing and positive nature concerning those in power...even to the point of misleading information and out right lies. Why do you think freedom of speech is the FIRST amendment? To prevent this type of manipulation from happening. ALL Americans need to be aware that anytime you try to shut down an opposing point of view your fueling the machine of ignorance and deceit. We need to stop this overtly socialistic liberal agenda before we wind up loosing ALL our guaranteed freedoms and liberties. REMEBER: "Truth will win out!"

  • Carol Storm - 14 years ago

Hearing the White House, with all of the power of the Federal Government behind it, try to stifle the voice of this news organization made me sick to my stomach. I'm of an age where I remember vividly what our planet looked like during the last part of the past century. We were regaled with stories of how the Soviet Union, East Germany, China and North Korea would 'prepare' the news for the people. PRAVDA was a frightening to think of. We would almost giggle in high school when we would have to read and report on what the news consisted of in these countries. Who would be so gullible as not to see what these governments were trying to do? Our President not only said that Fox News was not a news org. but they went so far as to warn the press not to follow any of the stories they were posting. What? I fully expected to see the media of all types explode the next day, and then...nothing. That was the most frightening thing I can imagine. I'm pleased to see this poll being taken, at least someone is ASKING the american people what they think. I listened to a voice recording of a phone conference with members of the NEA and white house officials where the NEA was actively agreeing to help the president with getting his messages across. How funny that they've just rec'd. another 50 million dollars this past week! Is anybody out there as freaked out as I am? And if not, why?? We used to call this propaganda, you know, those people we used to laugh at who would believe that stuff. I have yet to see anything on Fox that was not backed up with references and/or video or audio tapes. I think this country needs to wake up. I don't know what the hell has happened to the youth in this country that they have taken the word of this administration and marched forward like good little soldiers to proclaim their leader to be infallible. We are in a frightening time in our history.

  • Gary Holladay - 14 years ago

The most shocking think revealed here in this poll is that 13% of the voters CONDONE the President of the United States attempting to marginalize or delegitimize a news organization that has the largest audience and widest demographics base with respect to political affiliation. The same deal liberals denounced Nixon for doing.
Face it, Fox News is the only network left that asks real questions and reports on everything, including stories that the Obama administration doesn't want reported. But everything they report on is accurate and truthful. Show me where i'm wrong, you can't.

  • Adam - 14 years ago

    @ Sandra

Had you read the rest of my post and viewed the clips, you would see what I'm talking about. Ed Guillespie, council for the Bush administration, issued a written letter bashing MSNBC and stating they aren't legitimate. Cal Thomas, of Fox, supported the WH and even suggested they should have fought the media sooner. So, what is different now?

The WH never said anything about censoring Fox, nor did they 'declare war' on Fox. Those are Fox's words. I'm all for open debate, questioning the government, and critical thinking. Yes I voted for Obama. No, I don't like all that I've seen. Unfortunately, on this board, there are far to many zealots and you can't debate with a zealot.

  • bjg - 14 years ago

Whether FoxNews is 100% "fair & balanced", I trust their broadcasts far more than I do other stations who announces he has "chill bumps every time I see Obama".

  • Adam - 14 years ago

    @ Richard

Maybe you should open your eyes. This very situation occurred during the Bush administration, but aimed at MSNBC. But it was okay then? Fox actually supported the Bush administration in bashing MSNBC. So why was it okay then and not now?

  • Adam - 14 years ago

    @ Bob

Typical. Presented with facts and you dismiss them. Way to go Bob-o! Are you telling me to drive through cause your sitting in McDonalds working the drive through?

  • Allan Collum - 14 years ago

I am a politically active and informed American. I like to get all points of view on an issue before I form my opinions. Fox gives me this opportunity by being fair and balanced. However, even if Fox News was biased they have a constitutional right to exist. I find it ironic that President Obama has declared war on Fox News after his campaign speech in which he said there would be more," transparency in his administration". This president, his White House operatives and desperate Democrats are losing their popularity and are using the blame game. Shameful!

  • JoMama - 14 years ago

So, where are all the White House supporters?

Where is the "legitimate, scientific" poll?

Oh yeah, mainstream media and the administration dismiss the truth that is in the masses if the masses do not agree with them.

I challenge White House/Obama supporters to turn this "unscientific poll" around

  • Craig A. Wetherbee - 14 years ago

Well most of us knew that the Obama led White House would try and strip away our rights and sell us out to the U.N., so I was not surprised to learn about their attack on Fox News. It just makes plain sense to shut the opposition up. If yours is the only voice that can be heard, then of course your right. If the Nation can't here the opposing side, than there must not be one. You know, there used to be a middle of the road for most issues. It would take courage to seek out that type of a solution, apparently more than Obama has. He would rather destroy the Nation. May God save us all from our own government.

This is the fourth time I've posted this, and still curious as to why there are no replies to it. It's factual and proves the hypocrisy of Fox:

I find it somewhat amusing that Fox can sling all sorts of lies and misinformation, and then gets upset when the WH calls them out on it.****

Ok, I'll bite. List the lies and misinformation FOX News did sling. I never hear the specifics on this problem. All I ever hear or the general accusations against FOX news, which leads me to believe the lies and misinformation being "slung" isn't coming from FOX.

Please, again I beg, tell me about these lies and misinformation. Give me the particulars - the SUBSTANCE. And PLEASE don't list some fact and reality the lefties don't want exposed to the public. Let's get real and honest for once.

I find it somewhat amusing that Fox can sling all sorts of lies and misinformation, and then gets upset when the WH calls them out on it. It's also funny that Cal Thomas, of Fox, is outraged. Yet a year ago, when Bush counselor Ed Guillespie issued a letter from the WH, basically stating the same thing Anita did, except aimed at MSNBC, he defends the WH and says they should've done it sooner.

Is the lack of replies due to the fact that there's nothing to dispute and this whole issue is ridiculous? Or, is it because there are actual facts to show Fox's hypocrisy?

it is publicity for both sides.

  • renee - 14 years ago

I feel that the majority of media coverage is made by liberal democrats, and if you base your beliefs on what the news tells you, and wants you to believe, you will side with them...the liberal democrats. someone must have expressed some honesty an fox news causing the liberals to be angry with them, hence , giving cause for this pole.

  • Kathye Shuman - 14 years ago

Glad to see NPR being so open about this issue. This is the NPR that I enjoyed so many years ago, but stopped listening to because of it's decidedly liberal leaning. I am a conservative, but NO president or government official should muzzle our press, ANY OF THEM and I applaud all of the other news organizations for standing with Fox on this issue.
Be aware America: this president is dangerous. He want to take away our constitutional freedoms and he is doing so with slick talking propaganda and double speak. Orwell's 1984 is coming alive in 2009. Go back and read all that classic lit from school (1984, Atlas Shrugged, Lord of The Flies) and think about it in light of today's government. What you thought could never happen in the the US is unfolding right before our eyes and we are the only ones who can stop it.
