Any one who could sit through a sermon that was so full of hate and disgust for america should never be our President. Did it take Obama twenty years to figure out this pastor is a hate monger. What change is Obama speaking of Will it be that he is changing to Islim.

  • David Flach - 18 years ago

The views of Obama's pastor are shocking. I admire Obama for many reasons even though I am a political conservative. Senator Obama has many gifts and I am impressed with the way he has conducted himself. We have all made mistakes-christianity should be all about forgiveness and learning to love all God's children. God Bless America and her future.

  • charlie from memphis - 18 years ago

i do not accept the political retoric coming from the pulpit, so there should be separation of church and state. however there was definitely some accuracy to his comments.it should also be noted that from the reagan era until now that republicans have always had religious leaders endorsements openly from the pulpit

  • I. Herrera - 18 years ago

    I was waiting for this.....

Obama maybe wanting to distance himself....too late.
Obama just never counted on the fact that he would have a very good shot at the Presidency!!!

P.S. ....the two become one......Mrs. Obamas' comment regarding her comment on this country, "...for the first time I'm proud of my country....."
Hmmm.....I hope people wake up and 'smell the coffee....'
DON'T VOTE FOR OBAMA.....HE'S ANTI AMERICAN!

I feel senator obama should withdraw from the presidental race.

  • penny - 18 years ago

You hear on tv everything is far left; people from both sides of the aisle make terrible mistakes. Obama has been with this church and pastor for 20 years and if he didn't know how the preacher felt then obama would not be right to run this country. Obama's wife said she's finally proud to be an American; what gives. Anyone in the world is better off here than anywhere else in the world.
    It's called F R E E D O M.

Obama should get of the race as this preacher has assured victory for Hillary and I, for one, would be proud to have her as the President as she is S M A R T.

  • Janice - 18 years ago

I think Obama's true colors are coming out. I saw the interview and he was stammering over his words. There is no way I can believe that after 20 years, Obama never heard his pastor say these things. And if this man is preaching such hatred, why would he allow his young daughters to be brought up in that kind of a church. He is only trying to disassociate himself from the pastor now because he is running for president. Why did he not do this years ago? I always had a feeling that when something seems to good to be true, Obama was going to change the world with his call for change and hope etc., it usually is, and that is what seems to be happening. All the Obama worshippers, I only hope you can see beyond his charisma and realize what kind of person you are trying to elect president. I think Hillary should lay low, she doesn't have to say anything, and let Obama self destruct all on his own.

  • Zach - 18 years ago

I agree that the things that this pastor has spoke about are wrong, however I do not believe that we should be bringing the people around the candidates into this, just like on Hannity and Colmes when we viewed John Mcains Pastor preaching. Why must we critisize them? Many of my friends share different political views than I do, if I ran for president should I pick new friends?

  • Doug Palmer - 18 years ago

There is no way this closet white hater can claim that in 20 years he never heard his pastor make these type of racist white hating, anti-american
statements. He's a LIAR and a PHONEY. He should never be president!!
He's not fit to serve in congress. He should resign. Has he disassociated himself from his wife's anti-american comments? I think not! What a
    pair of creeps.

  • Liz - 18 years ago

Forget Obama, this preacher scares the h_ _ _ out of me. I've never heard anything so terrifying as the words out of this mans mouth. All I hear is pure evil at it best. And this is someone Obama held in high regard? America, open your eyes and pay attention. This kind of rhetoric is what insights hate and racism and perpetuates racial tension is America. I am ashamed he used God's name as he did. In 58 years of attending churchs I have never heard such foul preaching or anything even close to it. But, I was taught to pray for such a person and hope he will change. As for Obama, I do not believe he or his wife can be trusted to represent the United States Of America in ANY capacity. America, love it or leave it!!!!

  • Ola Cranor - 18 years ago

Well, the real Obama has finally been revealed -- inadvertently, of course, through the vicious, dangerous, venom, racist diatribe of his mentor, the right Rev. Wright. I can't believe that Obama sat through many hours of hateful sermons delivered by his pastor and remained neutral and unaffected by the teachings! I was impressed with Obama's demeanor, but not infatuated with his slick schmoozing, and now I am absolutely furious with his complacency about the sick rantings of that pseudo man-of-the-cloth Wright. I do hope the entire nation wakes up to the danger posed by the mind set of Obama, before he and his following (including his wife, pastor, etc.) become major threats to the our nation. He is not and never will be presidential material so long as he is influenced by such propoganda.

  • JoNell Whitstine - 18 years ago

I would never vote for Obama. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through this. When people attends church they go to the church of their choice. in other words they go to the chuch that preaches and teaches the values they believe in. so if Obam went to that church for 20 years he trully believes in what he hears from the pulpit. America is a great country and this preacher is a racist. He needs to move to another country if he don't like it here. Wake up America, Dont vote for someone just because he can give a good speech. If we pull out of Iraq we are screwed. We have spent billions of dollars to win it and lost lots of lives doing so, Don't let this war be another Vietnam. We need to win. If we pull out we will be fighting the terrorist in the USA.

  • Anita - 18 years ago

Well this just explains Sen. Barracks behaivor by not putting his hand on his heart when the pledge of allegiance is being said and not wearing a Flag pin or his wife stating that she was not proud to be an American etc.. It's obvious that they are following the teachings of this, do I dare say, "Pastor". A true pastor would preach about love thy neighbor and follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

This to me is like a very dangerous cult. I go to church but don't attend all the meetings but I know what's going on because my church brothers and sisters talk about it to me. So how can he say he doesn't know!! Bull!!

I was concidering him but I cannot now and I will make sure that I let everyone know that he belongs to a hate group that they call "Church".

This saddens me that this stuff is still going on today.

  • marlene - 18 years ago

Obama must think the American people are completely stupid.
I hope we are not. A Pastor is a leader, a guide, a very big influence in your life especially if he has been your Pastor for Twenty Years!! I I would Never Ever Vote for Obama!! I pray our nation wakes up.

  • Nick - 18 years ago

Jeremiah Wright's comments are dispicable, but Obama is no more resonsible for the words of another man than Hillary is responsible for Ferraro or McCain is responsible for Pastor Hagee. Obama did what he needed to do by repudiating the comments of Wright. I would hope that even an extreme right wing news organization like Fox could see that.

  • Fellicia - 18 years ago

Obama knew what his pastor was preaching. Unbelievable that his family is being taught this hate. It certainly should be over for him. Amen!

  • Janice - 18 years ago

  • Shirley Wright - 18 years ago

The incendiary remarks made by Obama's pastor are no surprise. When we first heard the news that Louis Farrakkhan was associated with Pastor Wright, it should have been obvious to the world that Obama is not a man who should become our next President. How he could have attended this church for longer than one day or prayed with this man who expresses racism to the fullest indicates Obama's ignorance. The Bible predicts that in our last days a charismatic leader like Obama will come forth and blind America. Obviously, this is what is happening. There have been other indicators, which should have been recognized. He refuses to pledge to the American flag, he will not wear the pin representing our flag, and he has been much too slow in saying he will no longer attend a church that "damns" our precious country.

  • kathryn - 18 years ago

Greta, I find it hard to believe that the pastor's comments were a surprise to Obama, afterall his wife has been blatant about her beliefs on America which seem to echo the pastor's; with that said, where does Obama truly stand? I think it is obvious. He is definitely NOT someone I would want to see lead this nation and I hope those who were thinking of voting for him do further research on his beliefs.

Barack Hussein Obama says that Rev. Wright is a Biblical scholar??? He obviously knows nothing about Scripture. If Rev. Wright says Jesus was a black man, he knows nothing about the Bible. Jesus was a Jewish man. The remarks they both made shows both ignorance of the Bible and hatred for whites and America. In addition to these dispicable remarks, Rev. Wright has had a close association with Ferrakand and visited a terrorist country with him to meet with Kadafi. How could anyone support Obama as commander in chief of our brave military men??

  • angel morales - 18 years ago

If you watch the different videos of Obama's pastor, you will notice that he is wearing 6 different outfits in 6 different clips. Either he is changing his outfit many times while preaching, or he is dedicating a lot of his sermons to putting down our country. I find it hard to believe that Mr. Obama was not at any of these sermons. Either he was there and won't admit it, or he is not the devout churchgoer he would have us believe. If my pastor made disparaging remarks about any race, not only would I not go back to that church - I would walk out in the middle of the sermon. Also, I have never heard a political speech during a sermon at my church in over 50 years. My pastor speaks about the word of God and the scriptures in the Bible. If Mr. Obama's church receives any kind of government funding or tax breaks, they should be rescinded immediately. The 70's are over, but the preacher doesn't want to forget the past. It is ironic that he said in one of his sermons that America would never elect a black president. Now that the possibility exists, it could be him who prevents it from happening, while so many whites are trying to get him elected.

  • Annette - 18 years ago

I have watched the campaign with great interest and although Barack Obama is a well educated, well read person, there has always been something about him that bothers me. That being said, I cannot believe that he did not know of the ramblings of his pastor or how this may effect his polictical career. How naive can one be?

  • RA - 18 years ago

Thanks for the words from Mr. Giririch, this goes mush farther than BO, it is the far left. Yes. my mother said never go to town with BO, wash and be clean in thought, actions and words. I ask every reader, please look into the eyes of BO's wife and see what you see.

  • virginia - 18 years ago

whether senator obama has a credibility issue or a judgment issue or both will be borne out on the days ahead. the rezko issue, the weatherman issue, and the pastor wright issue coupled with louis farakan(sp) connection do not bode will for him. i do not believe americans as a whole will accept this nor elect obama president. virginia

Think what other Muslim countries must be thinking Obama scares me!!! God help America .

  • Bob - 18 years ago

I agree. No more Clintons in the White House. They are part of the same nasty campaign. Go republican.

  • Chris - 18 years ago

Judy Dye, you just threw the "n" word out in your post like it's part of your everyday language. Doesn't seem like you're all that different from Pastor Wright....

  • Sandra - 18 years ago

Greta -- This, along with many other things, should be fatal to any campaign to put a person like this, who obviously has an ugly, hidden agenda, in the office of President of a country that clearly cares about each other and the rest of the world. Sandra

  • John D. Scott - 18 years ago

Obama has known this person and has attended his church for over twenty years but has no idea of his beliefs? does this spiritual leader only speak anti American returic when Obama is not present? Has Obama never heard any of his fellow flock members speak of this returik?

  • Paull Swindle - 18 years ago

It is incredible to think that Oboma could have been a member of that church and not know the content of Mr. Wright's preaching.

  • sandra jones - 18 years ago

Seems to me that its getting closer to Obama being nominated president(because he will win)that the oposition is trying to find any little thing to distract him.Just because you dont agree with everything your pastor says is not grounds for you to leave the church. You are there to focus on God not man.Just because the pastor say and do things doesnt mean that, that it's a reflection of you.So stop hating on Obama because you dont want him to win this election. We dont care about what the pastor says,we care about what Obama is going to do the change this country for the good of the people.

  • B. T. Jones - 18 years ago

We're known by the company that we keep! Its impossible to go to a church for 20 years and not know the thinking of the senior minister. This minister is full of hatred and should not be spewing from the pulpit. Looks like the congregation, Michele and Barrack Obama included, eat it up. Even if they only attended an average of 5 or 6 times a year, they would where he was coming from. They're both highly educated, and they call him uncle. I think Obama is done. I knew from the beginning that we did not know the real Barrack Obama.

  • jen - 18 years ago

The interview with Obama tonight re: Pastor Wright truly demonstated who OBAMA really is- either a collossal liar or a collossal idiot (most likely the former) and why WE CANNOT TRUST HIM WITH OUR COUNTRY.

I can only hope that the rest of the major media catches on to this critical issue. Thank you, thank you for bringing this information to light and starting the discussion.

  • LeAnne Tillar - 18 years ago

Well, how often did Obama actually attend church? He did say that he & his wife attended "in spurts" at times, and perhaps he did miss a lot of rousing sermons. Regardless, he could not possibly have been totally ignorant of the mindset of Pastor Wright throughout the 20 or so years he was a member of the church. There is a LOT we don't know about BHO.

  • Shirley, NY - 18 years ago

Greta, Barack has brought together people of all races. Bye the way I am a white 59 year old female. I'm not happy about some of the things that was said by his church. But then again if we really listen to some of what was said much is very true. Not just for the blacks but most Americans. Our freedoms are slowly being taken away every time we turn around by our government. It is long overdue that the people should have the voice not just the lobbyist and wealthy people. I guess it was all right for Bill Clinton to tell the youth of America the oral sex wasn't sex? Both Clintons in my opinion disgraced our country. I certainly felt like a fool putting the Clintons in the White House and I won't be made a fool of again. God Bless America and lets not disgrace it again.

I'm 74 Years Old And Know Better, I Can See Through You.

This is the only kind of crap that FOX NEWS and other Republican stations can do to try and stop the movement. To all of you people who is wanting change in our screwed up Government don't let this stop you from voting for Barack. The time will come when Clinton will be forced to step down and Barack will Demolish McCain and the Republican Party.

  • Da Truffff - 18 years ago

These statements have been plaguing Senator Obama for the past year, the problem is, White America is in fear of a Black man being President and felt that they needed to do something to stop his progression in capturing the Democratic candidacy.

  • Inez - 18 years ago

This is unbelievable!! What kind of pastor is Jeremiah Wright, he cussed! I think he is a pastor sent by the devil, he fosters hatred and racism!

  • Sharon - 18 years ago

If some people think that Obama's Pastor's remarks would not make a difference in his election try, then they better wake up and realize that it SHOULD be a very big issue. There is no way I believe that someone can go to the same church for almost 20 years and just coincidentally be "aol" on the Sundays when the racial hate words were being spewed from his pastor's mouth. I would have gotten up and left the church just as soon as the 1st GD America came out of his mouth and I would never had gone back. At a time when Obama has been saying it is time for unity in our country, his pastor, mentor and good friend have some of the most bigoted, non Christian words I have heard in my lifetime coming out of his mouth.

I have no clue who I am going to vote for in November as President because I haven't found one whose views I agree with most of the time; but I do know I will never vote for someone who has some like Rev. Wright as pastor, mentor and friend. One is known by the company they keep.

    Time to pray, America !!!!

  • PATRICIA DEES - 18 years ago

WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED IS IF OBAMA DOESN`T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HIS CHURCH, HOW COULD WE TRUST HIM TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OUR COUNTRY. FOUR YEARS AGO WE HAD NOT EVEN HEARD OF THIS PERSON, NOW WE ARE SUPPOSE TO CLOSE OUR EYES AND LET RUN THE COUNTRY. I DON`T THINK SO.BESIDES WHY DOES HE CONTINUE TO DECLARE TO BE BLACK, HE IS AS MUCH WHITE AS HE IS BLACK.IS HE ASHAMED TO BE WHITE ,MAYBE HE HAS BEEN LISTENING TO HIS MINSTER.

  • Steven - 18 years ago

All hard left intellectuals pastors are like that.I would still vote for Barack. There should be as much interest with John McCains pastor Rod Parsley.Let's be fair and balanced here.Shawn Hannity you need to get a life.

  • Big Mack - 18 years ago

What i would like to know is how of all people that blame Obama for his pastors comments, how many of you walk in step of every single word that your "spiritual leader" says? It is easy to talk about and condemn someone else, but i was always told when you point one finger at someone else, there are three pointing right back at you!!!!!! If Obama didn't say it, what is the big deal.. Let's get on with the real issues: ie: healthcare, economy, immigration, the price of oil, the education system. no i need to go on?

  • jim petty - 18 years ago

Thank you Fox for exposing a fox that is now cornered. Obama has been sly as a fox but is now in big trouble. Let's put him behind us and focus on those leaders that can truly move this country forward in as unbiased and fair manner as possible.
I do not believe a person could attend and support a church for 20 years and not know what was going on, especially given his friendship with the Reverend.
We cannot afford to put Obama in office when he professes he didn't know these comments and teachings were clearly being made. Let's not waste

  • Lonnie - 18 years ago

I am a 45 year old white man who voted for Obama in my state's primary election. I am shocked that Obama would associate himself with such a person. His answers to questions put to him tonight on H & C shocked me even more. His answers were lame at best. Frankly, he had a "deer in the headlights look" on his face when challenged for answers.

  • Russell - 18 years ago

After listening to this guy how in the world can anyone call this Idiot a minster??? Sounds like this guy wants to return to the days of KKK...This is a house of IDIOTS And BIGOTS

  • Rev. William Hartman - 18 years ago

    Greta,

I am a Pastor. If I spoke words from the pulpit such as this Pastor did my church would fire me. He cursed which is a flagrant violation of the 3rd. Commandment "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

As a Caucasian, if I spewed such racist remarks against black America I would probably be put in jail or at least harassed by black Americans.

Senator Obama should distance himself from this Pastor but when I watched him in an interview on TV he didn't think it was such a big deal. He said with his mouth he didn't agree with his Pastor's statements but he didn't seem sincere to me.

I pray that God will forgive this Pastor and the Holy Spirit will convict him of his racist remarks.

  • jimmy costa - 18 years ago

Correct me if I 'm wrong greta , but if went to the same barber for 20 yrs. eventually I would relize he's cutting my hair. So his little act about he's surprisded . gets me wondering if he becomes our next president what his his "real" ajenda

  • Joe - 18 years ago

Ah! The 1% can't handle the truth or their mouse! :-)

  • Chris - 18 years ago

His responses in the interview w/ Major Garrett were obviously made out of necessity/convenience to fit the situation. Also, to quote the ESPN announcer, Chris Berman, "Senator Obama was rumbling, bumbling, and stumbling all the way to the goal line (end of interview)!" He's been a smooth talker on the campaign trail...but NOT tonight!!

  • Brandy - 18 years ago

I have a question when will the Headline news or local news Put this information about Obama on there? will they? Come on News Lets put up the the TRUTH ABOUT THE REAL RACISTS OBAMA! AND HOW MUCH REAL HATE HIS PASTOR HAS! AND THIS IS WHERE OBAMA FINDS GOD!

I don't care how many women faint when seeing him, he has turned out to be nothing more than a smooth talking phony charmer. I would never again trust him or his wife. Does he really believe that America is so charmed by him that we will buy his story he didn't know his Pastor's hate and rage over the 20 years he spent with him?????? Thank our lucky stars that Obama has been exposed before it was too late.

God help the Democrats if this is what they have to offer the country.

  • Patty - 18 years ago

Shame on Obama to be a member of a church that would speak of the USA this way. What Michele has said also goes with the teaching from with church. I can't believe our country would even consider Obama as the president of our wonderful county wake up america before it is to late. As far as McCain"s church if you know anything about the words of the Bible it say what he talks about. Not what rev jeremiah says. I am afraid that if Obama becomes president then it might be God Damn American can we afford this?????????

  • Becky Buck - 18 years ago

Anyone who is listening to Wright's rhetoric has to know there's no comparison between him, Obama's pastor of 20 years, and the ministers who are supporting McCain. Fox News should give John Hagee and Rod Parsley an opportunity to respond to the comments that Colmes is making about them.

  • jim petty - 18 years ago

There is no way I could attend a church for 20 years and not know the basic teaching of the pastor. Mr. Obama is not being truthful. I cannot believe
anyone who loves this country could listen to any type of race division from
their minister and not leave and go to a church who has a pastor and the body of the church teaching is love of God and country. This just makes me
as a white person believe we have made no progress in race realtions when I had thought we had. This is hate preaching, nothing less. It make me sad.

    Thank You,
    Larry

  • Jean Frable - 18 years ago

I think Obie is finished. Between his wife's statements, his association
with the real estate mogul and now this - he is definitely not presidential
material. Of course, obviously - he is the stuff most politicans are made of -
lies, evasions, platitudes. ad infintum! or shoul I say ad nauseum!

  • Kathleen - 18 years ago

Obama will now be seen as the president nominee for blacks. It seems Bill Clinton's comments in South Carolina about race were not so far off. Obama's minister has just handed the democratic primary nomination to Hilary.

  • Chris - 18 years ago

If I went to my church and my pastor swore...I'd walk out because "thou shall not use God's name in vain." I would never go to a church if my priest preached hatred and racism. I wouldn't sit in that church for one minute because I would think what devil got into that pastor. What happened to separation of church and state ? IRS needs to get involved.

Can't believe BO, his wife gave their beliefs away 2 weeks ago and no one was listening. He wants CHANGE...sorry pal not that kind of change. People are just starting to scratch the surface of BO. We needed a united USA not a divided one.

  • Donna - 18 years ago

Evidently OBOMA is not a very good listener in Church , if he didn't hear
the Rev Wright's comments. I hope the info that the Reverend is
spewing off will take OBOMA down. We don't need him for president.
His wife has already said ,just recently, that she was just now proud to be an
america. Greta Please keep this story on the air. W DO NOT NEED OBOMA
    FOR PRESIDENT.....

  • PEGGY - 18 years ago

OH MY GOD! WE WELL BE IN ALOT OF TROUBLE IF OBAMA BECOMES PRESIDENT. I WAS HORRIFIED WHEN I HEARD WHAT WAS COMING OUT OF PASTORS MOUTH. DOES EVERYONE OF TRINITY CHURCH BELIEVE THE SAME WAY?

  • Lola - 18 years ago

My only question is why is everone pounding away about Obama's pastor and what he is saying, and not a word on McCain, and who he goes to for his spiritual guidance. I love watching your show but for someone that is an indenpent voter, it is really starting to look one side.

  • Al Cleland - 18 years ago

    You are toast Obama!

  • J. Brown - 18 years ago

I was an Obamacan until I saw that for over 20 years he was associated with this america hating nut!!!!!! How can someone who admires radicals like this pastor be our President???? No way.

  • ronald santaniello - 18 years ago

I cant believe that loud mouth (wright) would jepordice our country from having a chance for a new. rev wright is the reason why we cant heal

  • Delores Ellis - 18 years ago

White people cannot ever relate or understand the experience black people have had over 400 years trying to be accepted citzens of America, What could have been deciphered from even what Michele said was " for the first time in my Adult life I feel that White america is looking at the black race as human beings rather than less than. Even though The Rev. Wright should have chosen another platform, the things he was saying are factual. He was trying to say the nieve Blacks who chose to support Hillary for the President, that Hillary doesn't have the ability to relate to the black experience.

White people speakand understand a complkete different language than that in the black community.

  • Ben Feige - 18 years ago

I think the run for the presidency is over for Barack whether or not he gets the Democratic nomination. Maybe we need to have the primaries be a little closer to the general election like betwwen early April to early June so that we don't go through many states, before something this damaging could come out reguarding a particular candidate. Wonder if voters in the early primary states have any regrets about voting for Obama now.

  • Doug Palmer - 18 years ago

There is no way this closet white hater can claim that in 20 years he never heard his pastor make these type of racist white hating, anti-american
statements. He's a LIAR and a PHONEY. He will never be president!!
He's not fit to serve in congress. He should resign. Has he disassociated himself from his wife's anti-american comments? I think not! What a
    pair of creeps.

  • Allan - 18 years ago

To nominate Obama now will destine the democrats to lose in November. The Republicans will have a field day with this, and rightly so. I had almost made up my mind to vote for Obama. I simply didn't know him well enough, and fully expected that at some point, the press would stop embarassing itself and start doing their job. I've seen enough already. I am a registered democrate and I would vote for Senator McCain over Obama now, and I had intended to vote for the democratic nominee. I would still vote for Senator Clinton, but will under no circumstances vote for Obama. His explanation is wholly unimpressive . . . Obama, regrettably, is being untruthful with us. He knew exactly who his pastor was. If a white candidate attended a white separatist church whose pastor spouted this kind of garbage he or she would be forced out of the race. Only now, is Obama seeking to disavow his pastor's remarks. If my pastor spoke this kind of garbage, I wouldn't sit through one sermon . . . and I wouldn't have to hear it personally; if I'd heard of it I would investigatge, and if I could confirm it, I'd leave and never return. I certainly wouldn't subject my daughter to such hate filled rhetoric.

Mr. Obama lost his bid for the presidency today. Everyone knows when they change to a different type of donuts. Obama is lying.

Hi Greta...Thank you fox....The comments Michelle Obama are not validated in my mind as to the programming of Rev. Wright. You can not be involved with the Rev. for that many years and not know what he stands for or promotes. Hate for America. The trips to Libia by Farakan, the work Obama and Wright did in Chicago, etc. Birds of a feather DO flock together. That means like people who think alike and have the same agenda...period. When it was announced that OBAMA was the GLOBAL candidate of choice I was very alarmed. The eloquent speaking ability he has in saying very little and the way he avoids the serious questions had to be dealt with through the media. He has no management experience and very little to none Senatorial experience. He should not be given the most important office of the Free World. Please keep dealing with this Prince Charming. Thank you.

Wake up people. Obama knew when the REV. went to Libya with the rebel to visit Kadafi. This is insans. I am so tired of the crying and moaning by blacks, they get everything they want, Commit most of the crimes, then cry it is because I am black. All is to far gone to fix, so why try. Make three lists of candidates beliefs, their experience, their service to this country, all of the mistakes, [ie.Whitwater..Foster]EVERYTHING beliefs and hatreds and don't put any identifying factors ie.pictures, and see who comes out on top. This makes me so upset I get physically ill. Wake up people.

  • Ellen - 18 years ago

How stupid do the politicians think we are? Two wrongs don't make a Wright! I clearly understand Michelle Obaman's "first time I"ve ever been proud to be an American" now. Evidently she wasn't sleeping through the Reverend's sermons as her husband must have been doing for the past 20 years. This is as bad as Hillary and Bill making sure they were photographed toting their Bibles to church every Sunday during the Lewinsky trails. If McCain doesn't win, there's no hope for America.

  • SAM - 18 years ago

Ok, I was going to support the Clintons but I have decided to go with McCain.

I feel like the Clintons are just as responsible for nasty campaign. I will choose McCain over another Clinton.

  • robert - 18 years ago

I am shocked to say the least that Mr. Obama would even attend a church where the preacher teaches hate let alone associate with such a man on a personal level. I certainly would not feel very comfortable sitting in the pew a listening to a man (black or white) run down the other race. This man and his followers show the very traits of true racism and publicly display distain hatred towards the white race. The black race has been treated rather well by the white people in America and to hear this black man complain doesn't surprise me, but to say such bitter and putrited vial racist comments sickens me. I voted for Mr. Obama but I will NOT make that mistake again ! I think it is time the WHITE voters open their eyes now that their ears have been burned. If this preachers and his followers hate the United States and they think Africa is so great; then why don't they go to Africa and make IT a better nation.

  • Ron Baker - 18 years ago

This is extremely damaging. I certainly felt I would have no problem voting for a black candidate for president. Although I have difference of opinon with Obama as I do with all the candidatesThis whole incident has scarred beyond repair any chance that I will vote for Sen. Obama. The senators claim to not know of the racism and hatred that has surfaced the last few days in incredable. I do not believe Obama would be my president.

  • Marl - 18 years ago

I cannot believe Obama still attempted to defend Jeremiah Wright with his comment tonight that Wright is a 'great Biblical scholar' and has lectured throughout the country! Do those 'facts' somehow justify Wright's insane, radical, racist comments?!
If Obama truly did attend that church regularly, as he contends he did, there is no way he would not have heard such vitriole. A pastor who spews such hatred would not do so merely once every 5 years or so! So either Barack was rarely at the church he claims to have attended for 20 years, or he was there regularly, and if he was there, Obama is history.
Wright's beliefs remind me of Hitler: evil and racist.

  • Lilliam Mas - 18 years ago

It was shocked to listen to Obama's pastor . If he never heard his pastor to talk with so much hate, he most be lying. I hope we wake up to what will happen to our country if we vote for him. Being a cuban-american makes me nervous to hear this hate toward other races. I am glad we are finding out way before the Nov. election. We cannot trust him with the most important position in the world. He will devide and destroy our country. That's beside not having any experience. The list can go on and on. Please America, wake up.

  • Jim - 18 years ago

If this was just one individual in Obama's life, then we could probably accept the notion that it is not reflective of Obama's beliefs but this is just the latest of a longer and longer list of friends, acquaintances that are, at best questionable or, at worst, downright anti American. When the list is long, eventually the old saying that "You are the company you keep" come to mind. Can you imagine who Obama would have sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom?!

  • Audrey - 18 years ago

I can not believe main stream media is not covering this story. It MUST be a dirty little secret - SHHHhhhhhhhhhhh! We are not stupid and this will NOT fly. Our country makes great strides toward tolerance. Shame on you OHB! Shame on you, preacher!!

  • Dan L - 18 years ago

I listen to those trying to minimize this kind of talk and recall the same justifications of filthy rap music. I getting pretty tired of hearing that it's a "black thing" and I can't understand cause I'm white.

  • Shelly Love - 18 years ago

Obama is a weak leader and has a difficult time giving a straight answer during his interview. I have had reservations about him and his character, this confirms my reservations. Perhaps Obama will bring change to our nation, but I believe it will be change for the worse. America needs a strong leader who will unite the people. I believe that if Obama has considered himself a part of his church for twenty years then he DOES agree with his pastor. It doesn't matter what he says now..his actions HAVE proved differently. He agrees with his pastor, he is a racist, he is a hater of America, and he is not worthy of any government positon. God save America.

  • LeGay - 18 years ago

Obama is cool as long as he talks about change, but when faced with the questions about his religion, you could tell he was lying through his teeth, stamering for answers. Finaly the truth has come out about a man that we knew nothing about, he has never done anything that any of us know about. How can you be the President of the United States of America if you hate whites and Jews. FINALLY THE TRUTH> I am so ashamed for the whites standing up with their OBAMA signs, when some of us knew how much he has said that he hates whites.

  • Kaye R - 18 years ago

How can Obama look us in the eye and say that he never heard any of these things? After years of hearing this kind of hateful diatribe, how can he not have absorbed it? You don't continue on attending a church where you disagree with what is being said and taught, no matter how much you might like the social or close family atmosphere that he describes. How can we trust someone like this to be at the helm of the most influential country in the world? I don't trust him any further than I could throw him, and with a very bad back - that isn't very far!!!! He is supposed to be so eloquent and such a wonderful speaker, but I'm still waiting to hear anything meaningful on the issues that face our country and how he "means to change it". Somehow his lies don't seem very eloquent!

  • Becky Stack - 18 years ago

I am 70 years young, and have thought I saw almost everything, and cannot believe that the American people can be so conned by a leftist talker that I believe is out to destroy our country. Destroy the country from within, and it looks like it may come to pass. Only God can save this country the way it is going.

  • Patrick - 18 years ago

Obama is clearly a liar who only attemped to distance his campaign from his racist preacher when the hatred of the United States of America and the white race was exposed by the media. I would not vote for him now regardless who his opponent may be. Go Hillary!!!

Time for America to WAKE UP!

All this crazy Liberal GUilt..........for what?

Here we have a man that refuses to wear an American Pin......yet wants to be America's president.

He refuses to place his hand over his heart and say the pledge of allegance.....yet he wants to lead our country.

He listens to this hate filled Preacher for 20 years......lets his family, his children be filled with this hate..........but he never heard it?

    Lets Wake Up!

  • Jeff - 18 years ago

    G,
I am a died in the wool republican, created in my youth by President Jimmy Carter. For the first time in my life I thought that the dems had a candidate that loved our nation and truly believed in our republic. The fact that his pastor has such views and he has not condemned him for them completely contradicts that belief. NO American should condone such rhetoric.

Finally the truth is coming out. I go to church and sit under a pastor. If he preaches something that is not in line with the Bible or deeply grieved me, I would leave in a heartbeat. If you are a true Christian as defined in the Bible your allegiance is to the Lord above anyone else.
This goes along too with his wife's anti America comments. Sounds like she's heard the sermons.
Wake up people. This guy is lying like a rug.

  • KATHY GEORGE - 18 years ago

What happened to separating church and state? I think he has made it clear how he feels about it and that it is not his views. I don't want to be crucified for what someone else says. If someone can prove that he himself made statements such as these that would be a different story and I would agree that he has no business being a senator or President.

  • Judy Greene - 18 years ago

BHO won’t cover his heart for the Flag, Won’t say the Pledge and doesn’t appear to be willing to wear his Flag Pin. His wife has never been proud of OUR country until BHO ran for President. They both attend a church where the preacher is extremely anti-American. The only reason BHO made a statement regarding his preacher’s comments is that he is finally being held accountable for his beliefs. To be very honest, BHO's ambitions scare me. What exactly is he going to change?

  • Alan - 18 years ago

#209 If President Bush were to attend a church for twenty years and it came out that the preacher was making statements about those lazy chicken and watermelon eating black folks....you know you would be calling for his resignation.

  • brown eyes - 18 years ago

Obama thinks we will believe that he had no knowledge of his pastor preachings? You got to be kidding. Three mniutes on this church website and there is no doubt this church preaches racism. I just heard that up unitl today this pastor was the 'spiritual leader' of the Obama campaign. Please America don't be fooled. I for one cannot support a candidate for president if there is any question on his love of this country or a quesiotn of racism. Vote for any candidate but Obama. THis man is dangerous and will take America down. Browneyes

  • John R. - 18 years ago

I think/hope this will totally derail Obama's campaign. As said numerous times already, you are known by the company you keep! Obama has been "friendly" with Wright for at least 20 years as his pastor (even though someone who speaks with profanity and racism from the pulpit is not someone I would call a pastor!) I'm a Republican and will vote for McCain and I sincerely hope he wins for the sake of our country, but I definitely would prefer Hillary over Obama if a Democrat should win. She has quietly said through her actions of forgiving her cheating/lying husband of what kind of person she is to put up with that kind of stuff and keep driving on. I'm in the military and hope that she doesn't let all of the sacrifices that the military has given in this war on terror (whereever it may be) to be all for naught. Anyway, I hope this long term association with this anti-american "pastor/respected theologian" is something that will not be forgotten.

  • gregory - 18 years ago

Twenty years listening to propaganda like the Rev Wright Jr.spews had to have shaped Obama's views. Him being President is a scarry thought. He should quit for the good of the democratic party and the country.

  • Mary ANN - 18 years ago

Not sure - it should hurt him, however, I am not sure the media will report the information. You can be sure ABC,CBS,NBC,MSNBC and CNN will not report it and unfortunately that is where the majority of citizens get their information.

  • Proud American - 18 years ago

I don't believe what Obama said to Major for one second. How come he didn't quit when his church gave Farrakhan an award. Pastor Wright has been talking bad about America in many different sermons for years. How strange that in all those Sundays, Obama was not present and didn't hear him. ?????????? If Obama considers Pastor Wright his uncle, how come he didn't know the way he feels about America?
How come the Media doesn't ask him face to face about his other friend Ayres?
Wake up America! These are Obama's true colors.

  • Peter Juvelis - 18 years ago

Obama, in my opinion, has not proven himself worthy to become President of the greatest and most powerful nation in the world. What is his record? What does he stand for? How he has captured the minds and souls of so many Americans is beyond me. It's scarry. How naive or blind can one be? GO McCain!!!!
