hey there greta, so for 20 years obama never knew what his pastor believed, and preached, in the church that he, his wife, and his kids attended.
he said months ago in a debate that he was not good with details, but to be completely oblivious to his surroundings for 20 years? his oh-so-bright wife never caught a clue either -- not in 20 years.....or did she?
obama says he has "sound judgement", yet for 20 years (1,040 weeks in a row), his "sound judgement" led him to listen to rev. wright and trust in him as his pastor, his friend, his mentor, his political advisor, and his old uncle. yet he never heard a single word of hate, racial division, anti-americans rants. he never even got a teensy hint as to rev. wright's true beliefs, the content of his sermons (it only came out when obama wasn't there i guess), or the more subtle clues from the other thousands of fellow church members.
also in that 1,040 weeks he apparently never spoke to a fellow church member about any sermons he missed. he never read anything, heard anything, saw anything in 1,040 weeks which resembled the hate-filled words spewing from the mouth of the man leading his church.
wow, rev. wright was sure careful, wasn't he? he hid all his hatred and true feelings for 20 years from a man who called him friend, mentor, uncle.
he exposed his children to this church, the pastor, and all that it entails -- but he never noticed what was going on.
go ahead and vote for him. soon he will be shaping the lives of your children too.

You can not be as close to someone as Obama claims to have been for 20-30 years to this pastor and not know what that person stands for and not share in their anti America sentiments. It does not take a great deal of discernment to see right through him. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all the time. Obama could not answer a single question with a simple yes or no. Thank you Fox News for helping to bring this issue to light.

I have had the same pastor for 30 years and do not agree with every single word that comes out of his mouth. We have liberals, moderates, and conservatives at our church so we have a variety of views on today's issues. We all agree on the Gospel of Jesus Christ but issues seem to be another thing. Could this be the case with Obama, he can agree with somethings but not others. I have not bothered walking away from my church just as he didn't until it became necessary.
You show me a perfect church, with a perfect pastor, I'll show you a group of liars, it's the people with a perfect church and pastor.
I'm a right wing conservative who will vote Republican, no doubt about it, but you can't tie what a pastor says to Obama. I am tired of people saying you are in the same organization as this man, how can you stay there, it's easy. I'm A Republican, I know there are racist who are Republican and Democrat, yet I remain a part of that party.
Does that mean I agree with the racism in both parties that is so blatant, NO, but I don't leave it either. I dare say some of the good people in this blog are the same way. There are things they do not like happening in their party, such as racism, but they do not leave it, why?

How stupid does Obama think the American people are? No doubt some his supporters of "change we can believe in" will refuse to believe the obvious, but I still have faith in the American people. A person does not attend a Church for almost 20 years without becoming educated in what their Pastor preaches and teaches. Obama's "MILD" rejection of his racist Pastor(if you can actually referred to him as a Pastor), is too late to matter. IF Obama truly does not agree with what the racist Pastor preaches then Obama would have left that Church a long time ago, even before he decided to run for President. His rejection is too late and too little. I am a white male and although I will not vote for either Obama or the other Clinton, I have been proud to see the progress our GREAT Country has made in regards to a minority and a female being seriously considered for our next President. I AM sick of the hate filled speaches made by "so-called" leaders that portray America as racist. I admit racism is here but it is from BOTH sides. Progress is still needed but the huge progress that has been made is often overlooked and forgotten, and by the way, there has been many, many WHITE people that have helped greatly in trying to reverse the many years of division between races. I am a firm believer that the vast majority of people can and do get along and treat each other with respect. First. I am a BHO supporter.
And I agree with some of the comments made by Rev. JWJ. He stated them in a charged way, but some statements are not over the pale.
We all agree that Bill Clinton was bad for America.
Hillary will never know what it is to be a black person.
We did bomb a variety of countries -- whether right or wrong.
We do and have supported evil dictators in the islamic world to the detriment of many muslims when we could have let those crazies fight each other.
Many ministers on the left and the right blamed America for 9-11 from an intellectual perspective.
It does not mean America is not a great country. We are just not a perfect country.
Hopefully, we as a nation can move past this, because we all have members of our families especially older members who have gone through really racially charged times on both sides of the issue (as being called racists or being discrimated against), but it is time to turn the page.
BHO who is half white and half black, with an international perspective, raised in Hawaii by his white mother is the farthest from a white hating black militant than we have ever seen. In fact, many in the black community stated that he was not black enough to represent them until South Carolina.

Second of all this shouldn't have anything to do with him running for president, if this was the case you all would have looked deeper into Presidnet George Bush. In state and national politics, candidates for office must understand that any skeletons in his/her closet will eventually become public knowlege. It is the duty of the press to make personal information/relationships available to citizens regarding these candidates so the voter can be better informed prior to voting. Pastor Wright is definitely a skeleton in Senator Obama's closet. It is a reflection of very poor judgement on Senator Obama for not disclosing his long term relationship and friendship with Pastor Wright before he even ran for his U.S Senate seat from Illinois, but, it is disastrous for his presidential bid. In this case, "better late than never" doesn't apply, but, "too little too late" does. No attempts by Democratic strategists to rehabilitate Obama's candidacy will erase the hateful, ignorant, and untruthful diatribes of his longtime minister, mentor, adviser and friend. The video tapes were made by Pastor Wright's church and depict what he preached to his membership. If Senator Obama and his wife were not aware of the hate mongering taking place from the pulpit in their church, it would in the words of Senator Hilary Clinton, "require the suspension of disbelief."

Hello people! Wake up. As a black female I must say that I am surprised by how easily most people SWALLOW 30 seconds of a "message" as the gospel. If Obama is like most black churchgoers, then he is sure to hear MANY messages preached over the pulpit that he will disagree with. Wake up! The pastor writes the message, the pastor preaches the message and it's up to YOU to as a child of God to discern the TRUTH. Church is about a whole lot more than just the message preached -- there are relationships, family history, years of sprititual growth -- for the members and the PASTOR! Pray people. And don't listen to the hype. If this is the norm then there should be HOURS of messages in this tone. People change, people grow and not one of us would like to have all our values and beliefs judged and convicted on 30 seconds of bits and pieces of what SOMEONE ELSE SAID. Do I agree with and believe and share ALL the same values as my pastor, No! Would I uproot my family from my church just because my current pastor has strong negative social beliefs, ABSOLUTELY NOT. I would pray for the pastor (and all those that say AMEN) that God would touch and change their hearts according to HIS will. I love America and when I hear Obama and his wife speak, I hear that same love in them. We love America, but we also recognize that America can be so much better for ALL OF US if we could just nip racism in the bud. It's that love that drives our desire to eradicate racism altogether. Obama's pastor claims to a scholar of the Bible and is following Jesus. He must be lying on both counts. He sounds like he is Bipolar or an alcoholic, with his ranting and raving. Have you thought that Obama's wife has been listening to this for 20 years and that may be the reason she was so down on the U.S.S. until her husband was running for the Presidency. She also said she would be willing to run as the president in the future. This sounds to me like a HUGE Rats Nest. Hope Hillary and Bill C. open their eyes and learn something about leading lives that reflect poorly, just because of the company you keep.

I am a hispanic male who spent 22 yrs as an active duty soldier and who survived and rose above plenty of hateful ethnic speech. If a hispanic or a white person make a comment like the reverend did, it will be considered hate speech. If non black church pastors make the same speech from the pulpit, people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be asking for the pastors head and the church tax exempt status to be revoked. The church that I attend teaches grace, forgivenes and moving on from our past. It also teaches that everyone is equal thru Christ. I do not hear this messages from Reverend Wright's sermons excerts. No wonder people in this country cannot get past race, when the past is relived and feelings of anger are manipulated by incendiary statements.

The comments made by his wife (that they tried to say were misunderstood) were really heart felt. I truly fell he will say anything and agree with whom ever can help him. How can you go to a church for 20 years and turn your back on your church because it is not politiically correct.

In time, everyone will understand that Israel is the main "Target" of the Muslims but that America stands in the way because at this time, America still defends Israel. I hope this does not happen because as soon as America does not defend Israel anymore, then Israel is on its on.

I thought Church was to teach love, kindness, help to others and your color should not matter.

Major's interview was terrible. Obama never stated which statements he strongly condemned or strongly disagreed with. He NEVER would mention or identify anything specific but did say he would quit if he had heard the things that are now being mentioned. Play the tape again, Obama STATED he heard a few things. Greta, I was shocked yesterday when the clips of Obamas mentor were aired on O'Riely. Today it just makes me sad.. somehow I thought our country had moved past this kind of hate. I would not have voted for Obama anyway, because he has no experience. This is just another reason to not vote for him, he does not have good judgement. I believe like hundreds of others that have commented...he's done, even if at this late date he wins the Democratic nomination.

This "pastor", and he hardly dignifies the title, is seething and preaching hatred and discontent and is leading his congregation in that exercise. He has found a following including Barack, and they a like-minded leader. Wright will be held accountable as will his followers. We all have personal responsibility and accountability for our actions, including the Senator.

If it was one or two instances I would honestly be willing to give him a break. But we see this, his connection to Farrakhan, his wife’s comments, ect. and we really have to wonder. There is a pattern emerging. And it is not like we have a real record to go by and compare these comments to. Hillary and McCain are criticized because of items on THEIR RECORD. Obama has given the American people a blank résumé and expects them to fill it in however best suits them. The fact that he expects us to believe that he had not known of these radical and extremist positions, while we see the entire congregation is in a state of ecstasy from hearing them, is a blatant insult to the intelligence of the American people. The liberal media tries to paint this issue as “aside from the issues,” yet you can bet your life that if Hillary or Mccain was involved in anything that even had a tinge of racism the liberal establishment would automatically disqualify them for the presidency. A side note: regardless of whether you support McCain or not you could never expect him to even associate himself with anything that disrespected America.

I feel this is a mess for Barack Obama and he is trying to make excusses for Rev. Wrlight as well as for himself. I have never been a fan of Barack..something just didn't seem right but this is the final straw for me. I definately have a final opinion now and my suspicions have been confirmed. (just giving him the honor of Rev. gives me the willies) has given his last sermon and is taking a sabatical, tells me that this preacher is just waiting in the wings until they all think this has blown over... and should Barack ever get elected this hateful fanatic will surface with a force that will rock us all. You can't tell me this hasn't been all planned out now because of the "heat" this guy has stired up and has been found out. GO HONEST REPORTERS! One lie will lead to hundreds. SHAME, SHAME,SHAME. For the most part are we not considered guilty by association? Far too many people have experianced discrimination in one way or another. No longer do you have to be of a certian race or color for someone to consider you a lesser person we have become too self absorbed and we are all guilty of this. The talk of race and gender in this election has become shamefull to all of us. If we do not need this country then let us return to the country of our forfathers, can we honestly belive we will be accepted by them? We born in America must respect this our country, our flag and each other. When I stand to pledge my American flag I feel proud I feel respect and there is no other country that I want to claim.
Mr. Obama preaches change but we must first change within ourselves. It seems to me those who have a problem with Hillary Clinton as president do so because she is a woman or is it because she is a Clinton? Hi Greta, Rev Wright is not saying anything about America that you can't read on any far left website. Why should this hurt his campaign, it is exactly what every far left Democrat believes in.
It certainly is scary thinking he could end up being our president. However, we do know that God is in control and maybe this is his way of making sure that uninformed people do not vote for BHO. It is time the American people wake up and appreciate the "America" we live in. People need to pray and ask God to help them make the right decision when they go to the polls to vote for our leaders. We need to get honest people in the white house and in congress & senate. I have been so concerned about this man running for our president, but I believe he now needs to drop our of the presidential race and focus on becoming a good American that will stand up and fight for our Country--the good old USA.

Politics of destruction in the US is disgusting. The world is watching. Just tune in to the world news or any news..assuming you watch all kinds/views of news...asssume you check out other stations besides just Fox News...see how others see the news....whether it's in the middle, extreme right wing or extreme left wing. If you examine present or past presidents....any of the present candidates in depth what kind of dirt can you find? or bad associations? Just because you find dirt near someone, does it prove they are dirt? People make judgements. We will have to wait and see how this shakes out. McCain was kept out of the 2000 presidential race because of dirt dumped on him, which was not true. Because the McCain's had a child of a different color, did that prove he "had a black child out of wedlock"(aka the dirt dumped on him)...NO. Campaigns on both sides seem to be filled with allegations and it's difficult for Americans to get to the bottom of each and every allegation. As we have seen, just because something is said over and over, doesn't make it true. This is a difficult task and time.

We need leaders like Sen. Obama who takes this message and provides to our country a better way to deal with this highly volatabe issue. One of the remarkable things that I have learned so far in this campaign is that the MSM are still in denial of Senator Obama's character flaws and that seems to be his judgment. He constantly is using the judgment theme to try and hang Hillary with by saying he had the judgment not to go to war. Well, Obama was not in the U.S. Senate and he neglects to speak on that fact. The other terrible matter is that Obama and Michelle both have been influenced by Rev Wright's racial hate--Michelle is an angry woman who should not be representing America as a first lady--My prayers is that those Obama followers who think he is a different politican will see that he's probably worse than what we have seen yet. he said months ago in a debate that he was not good with details, but to be completely oblivious to his surroundings for 20 years? his oh-so-bright wife never caught a clue either -- not in 20 years.....or did she?
obama says he has "sound judgement", yet for 20 years (1,040 weeks in a row), his "sound judgement" led him to listen to rev. wright and trust in him as his pastor, his friend, his mentor, his political advisor, and his old uncle. yet he never heard a single word of hate, racial division, anti-americans rants. he never even got a teensy hint as to rev. wright's true beliefs, the content of his sermons (it only came out when obama wasn't there i guess), or the more subtle clues from the other thousands of fellow church members.
also in that 1,040 weeks he apparently never spoke to a fellow church member about any sermons he missed. he never read anything, heard anything, saw anything in 1,040 weeks which resembled the hate-filled words spewing from the mouth of the man leading his church.
wow, rev. wright was sure careful, wasn't he? he hid all his hatred and true feelings for 20 years from a man who called him friend, mentor, uncle.
he exposed his children to this church, the pastor, and all that it entails -- but he never noticed what was going on.
go ahead and vote for him. soon he will be shaping the lives of your children too.
You can not be as close to someone as Obama claims to have been for 20-30 years to this pastor and not know what that person stands for and not share in their anti America sentiments. It does not take a great deal of discernment to see right through him. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all the time. Obama could not answer a single question with a simple yes or no. Thank you Fox News for helping to bring this issue to light.

I have had the same pastor for 30 years and do not agree with every single word that comes out of his mouth. We have liberals, moderates, and conservatives at our church so we have a variety of views on today's issues. We all agree on the Gospel of Jesus Christ but issues seem to be another thing. Could this be the case with Obama, he can agree with somethings but not others. I have not bothered walking away from my church just as he didn't until it became necessary.

I am tired of people saying you are in the same organization as this man, how can you stay there, it's easy. In state and national politics, candidates for office must understand that any skeletons in his/her closet will eventually become public knowlege. It is the duty of the press to make personal information/relationships available to citizens regarding these candidates so the voter can be better informed prior to voting. Hello people! Wake up. As a black female I must say that I am surprised by how easily most people SWALLOW 30 seconds of a "message" as the gospel. If Obama is like most black churchgoers, then he is sure to hear MANY messages preached over the pulpit that he will disagree with. Wake up! The pastor writes the message, the pastor preaches the message and it's up to YOU to as a child of God to discern the TRUTH. Church is about a whole lot more than just the message preached -- there are relationships, family history, years of sprititual growth -- for the members and the PASTOR! Pray people. And don't listen to the hype. If this is the norm then there should be HOURS of messages in this tone. If a hispanic or a white person make a comment like the reverend did, it will be considered hate speech. If non black church pastors make the same speech from the pulpit, people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be asking for the pastors head and the church tax exempt status to be revoked. The church that I attend teaches grace, forgivenes and moving on from our past. It also teaches that everyone is equal thru Christ. I do not hear this messages from Reverend Wright's sermons excerts. No wonder people in this country cannot get past race, when the past is relived and feelings of anger are manipulated by incendiary statements.

If it was one or two instances I would honestly be willing to give him a break. But we see this, his connection to Farrakhan, his wife’s comments, ect. and we really have to wonder. There is a pattern emerging. And it is not like we have a real record to go by and compare these comments to. Hillary and McCain are criticized because of items on THEIR RECORD. Obama has given the American people a blank résumé and expects them to fill it in however best suits them. The fact that he expects us to believe that he had not known of these radical and extremist positions, while we see the entire congregation is in a state of ecstasy from hearing them, is a blatant insult to the intelligence of the American people. The liberal media tries to paint this issue as “aside from the issues,” yet you can bet your life that if Hillary or Mccain was involved in anything that even had a tinge of racism the liberal establishment would automatically disqualify them for the presidency. A side note: regardless of whether you support McCain or not you could never expect him to even associate himself with anything that disrespected America.
Barak Obama having attended Rev Wright's church for 20 odd years must have gathered from his sermons the feelings he held toward our country and must have been in agreement with his views to continue attending services at his church for such a long time and having his children baptized by this radical minister. There can be no doubt that the Senator was influenced by this socalled man of God.

All I have to say is, these videos came out at least a year ago and why did'nt the media and reporters address this issues then. It is unacceptable and depressing that this pastor will speak such words out of his mouth and not just on one occassion but many. This is a person that has been in Obama's life and will continue to be apart of his life, after all Obama stated the man is like his uncle, but in all reality he's not.
I think that everyone better pay attention to this and realize what will happen to our Country if Obama is elected President. It certainly is scary thinking he could end up being our president. However, we do know that God is in control and maybe this is his way of making sure that uninformed people do not vote for BHO. It is time the American people wake up and appreciate the "America" we live in. People need to pray and ask God to help them make the right decision when they go to the polls to vote for our leaders. We need to get honest people in the white house and in congress & senate. I have been so concerned about this man running for our president, but I believe he now needs to drop our of the presidential race and focus on becoming a good American that will stand up and fight for our Country--the good old USA.

Just tune in to the world news or any news..assuming you watch all kinds/views of news...asssume you check out other stations besides just Fox News...see how others see the news....whether it's in the middle, extreme right wing or extreme left wing. If you examine present or past presidents....any of the present candidates in depth what kind of dirt can you find? or bad associations? Just because you find dirt near someone, does it prove they are dirt? People make judgements. We will have to wait and see how this shakes out. McCain was kept out of the 2000 presidential race because of dirt dumped on him, which was not true. Because the McCain's had a child of a different color, did that prove he "had a black child out of wedlock"(aka the dirt dumped on him)...NO. Campaigns on both sides seem to be filled with allegations and it's difficult for Americans to get to the bottom of each and every allegation. As we have seen, just because something is said over and over, doesn't make it true. This is a difficult task and time.
All I can say is that if you believe in what your Preacher Preaches then you stay at the church. If you don't then you find another Church. So I would think Oboma must have believed in what was taught to him at that Church but not when you run for President. Twenty years at that some Church. He must have believed. I don't want to be blind sided.
Just because you hear someone say something does not mean you own it. this rev views in one form or another has been expressed in every black church and/or family in this U.S.A. We need leaders like Sen. Obama who takes this message and provides to our country a better way to deal with this highly volatabe issue. He provides for our country a path to go down that is healthy and healing. To deny him this chance will only fan the flames of racism and hatred. Judge the man on his merits and what his thoughts are, not by the words someone else has spoken. One of the remarkable things that I have learned so far in this campaign is that the MSM are still in denial of Senator Obama's character flaws and that seems to be his judgment. He constantly is using the judgment theme to try and hang Hillary with by saying he had the judgment not to go to war. Well, Obama was not in the U.S. Senate and he neglects to speak on that fact. The other terrible matter is that Obama and Michelle both have been influenced by Rev Wright's racial hate--Michelle is an angry woman who should not be representing America as a first lady--My prayers is that those Obama followers who think he is a different politican will see that he's probably worse than what we have seen yet.
