I am a non American, but I want to talk to you AMERICANS. What do think in your brains, that CHANGE FROM BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA MEANS? After the hatemonger comments of Pastor? Wright said, tell me AMERICANS, WHO ARE REALLY THE RACISTS IN THIS COUNTRY? WHEN BLACK AMERICANS CONTINUED THEIR HATRED AND RECENTMENT FOR SLAVARY, AND DO NOT PUT THE BLAME FOR THE ONES WHO SOLD THEM, TO THE ENGLISH, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, WHO WERE THE ONES WHO SOLD THEM. THE MUSLIMS ARABS. WHY BLACK AMERICANS DO NOT BLAME THE GD MUSLIMS FOR THEIR SLAVERY? DO NOT BLACK AMERICANS READ HISTORY? I DOUBT IT. NOT KNOWLEDGE IS A VERY PITIFUL WAY TO LOOSE YOUR BRAIN. ANOTHER QUESTION I WOULD LIKE TO ASK TO BLACK AMERICANS, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE WHO DIED ON THE CIVIL WAR, FOR YOUR LIBERATION? ALL WHO TRIED TO PROTECT YOU AND TAKE YOU TO THE NORTH ON THE CIVIL WAR? WHAT ABOUT WITH THE MARCH OF MARTIN LUTHER KING, HOW MANY WHITES DIED FOR YOU ON THE MOVEMENT? HOW MANY WHITES TRIED TO HELP IN AFRICA, HAITI, AND OTHER COUNTRIES THAT THE MAJORITY ARE BLACK AND STARVING AND DYING? HOW MANY CATHOLIC NUNS DIED IN AFRICA AND PRIESTS, AND PROTESTANTS WHITE PEOPLE? IS VERY EASY FOR BLACK AMERICA TO FORGET WHEN IS CONVENIENT FOR YOU TO FORGET. YOU BLACKS ARE MORE RACISTS, MORE ANTISEMITES AND ANTI WHITES, THAN THE WHITE PEOPLE. THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS YOU CAN NOT PROSPER YOURSELF. YOUR HATRED AND GD THE WHITE PEOPLE IS HEAR BY GOD. GOD HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT IN YOUR CHURCHES OF HATRED. I AM NOT GOING TO SAID THAT ALL BLACK PEOPLE THINK LIKE MR. WRIGHT PASTOR OF HATRED GOSPEL, BUT AND 80% DO. WHAT A PITY. IF OBAMA IS ELECTED, PREPARE YOURSELFS AMERICANS, WHITE HISPANICS, ASIANS, AND OTHERS TO ANOTHER CIVIL WAR, PLUS THE TERRORISTS ATTACKS. WAKE UP OR AMERICA, AND THE AMERICANS ARE GOING TO BE DOOM.......

BHO is either as big a racist as his ....cough....'Pastor' or he's just plain dumb as a stump. There's no in between. Either way, BHO is not Senatorial material....let alone Presidential

  • Don Kim - 18 years ago

BO obviously knew Rev. Wright very well...and regarding his chances now,
So close yet so far.. Better to see this now then in the White House!!!!

  • Jimmy M. McAnally - 18 years ago

This is scary! I had no idea there were churches(supposedly Christian)in America spewing this kind of hatred.

  • Patty John - 18 years ago

Pastors leave and return ___and often return to the same church. Who's to say Wright would not return to this church? (if Obama were to win the office of President). I consider Wright to be a heretic and he should be very concerned and worried about what the almightly God is going to say to him about his damaging reteric and his promotion of schism within his own church. How many of his followers are willing to follow him into HELL? Aren't leaders of all churches suppose to united all of mankind no matter what color? And what about love thy neighbor as thyself?

  • TJ - 18 years ago

Martina Meridian from Mississippi commented on Obama's "so-called spiritual advisor" Wright:
"I do not believe these comments are so bad, the media is making it out to be."
Get real, Lady! Those poison words that came from the man's mouth were not placed in there by the media! Come on everybody, wake up and smell the rotten roses.

Any skeptical person would have known there was more to Obama then he led on. His relationship to the church and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Is clearly going to represent his own views politically and religiously. Furthermore, a relationship for over twenty years, Rev.'s radical and twisted views would most certainly have and effect on any person sitting in his pews. His preaching is a horrible example of representing the bible and Gods holy word. Anyhow whatever approach Obama takes in clearing this mess up, is after the fact that he was devoted to the teaching of this man. A serious flag goes up when Obama claims he was never present for this kind of extreme language such as "God damn America". Keep this in mind when you vote!

  • Ed Clower - 18 years ago

Why is this news today when it should have been news a year ago? A quick trip to the website of the Trinity United Church of Christ is an eye opener. Anti-white, anti-America, anti-Semitic and decidedly non-Christian and racist. Not to mention close ties to The Nation of Islam (Farrakan's posse) and The New Black Panther Party (Shabez' thugs). Beware of Barrack HUSSIEN Obama. He wants change; you bet your butt, but not the kind of change Americans need or will stand for. God Bless and keep your powder dry!

  • tammy - 18 years ago

Too bad we don't have someone like AL SHARPTON OR JESSE JACKSON to call on when we are being degraded. Does this mean we should take to the streets with picket signs and vent our anger too? I can't imagine the uproar that would have taken place with the "AFRICAN AMERICANS"(got to get that right or I'll be considered racist) if we had made the same hateful remarks aimed at them even in 1/10 of that capacity. Quit pointing the finger "MR CLOTHMAN" and remember what GOD has called you into the ministry for. SHAME ON YOU!! and shame on OBAMA for saying in 20 years that he had never heard such a thing. Maybe if you had gone to church other than on EASTER, CHRISTMAS,WEDDING, AND BAPTISM you might have heard something. I guess that's what happens when you attend church only for politcal votes.

  • Gary Karch - 18 years ago

That he never heard such inflammatory rhetoric is akin to Bill Clinton claiming he never had sex with Monica Lewinsky. Obama has no credibility. Considering the pastor's anti-American rhetoric and his trip to receive an award from Libya's terror king Qaddafi, shouldn't there be some FBI surveillance tapes or records which document Obama's presence at sermons he denies ever hearing? I can't believe our government doesn't have a finger on the pulse of activities at a church like this one.

  • Peggy - 18 years ago

If you remember Obama's wife showed in her speech how she has felt about America up until now, I would assume her pastor could get the credit for most of that reaction.....also remember how all the people were reacting when the pastor did his dirty Bill Clinton jester? They clapped, danced and applauded the pastor. I would assume Obama has seen the same kind of preaching and reaction by the people. I think Obama lied through his teeth tonight with Major's interview. Obama and his pastor know exactly what they are up to...they have a lot of paying back to do. "Wake up America"

  • sundancepdx - 18 years ago

many posting here must have never been to a black church in a black community. This is a world white America helped to create.
Would you expect Jews to speak gently about Germans?
How narrow minded of you all.
Barack wants to unite our country and put the hate behind us.
Please open your hearts, this pastor is an old man from another generation...stop the fear-mongering!

  • Kattie - 18 years ago

I do not agree with any of the pastor’s statements at all, but, to hold Obama accountable for the views of his pastor is a serious injustice.
IF this is the standard of running for president, no Christian could ever run for president. All Christians have been told that the morals of this country will bring the judgment of God upon us, and none of us left the church. To compare his beliefs to the extreme beliefs of his pastor, compare your own beliefs to every word that comes out of your pastor’s mouth. We don’t leave, because if that were the standard we would have no church to attend. These comments were to the extreme, but he "his pastor" is racist against a society that considered his forefathers not a whole person. It is not our point of view, but we should at least be able to see this man feels he is oppressed and is pushing back. Remember all this racial strife only began to start to heal in the 70's. There are moms and dads and grandparents out there that lived in this oppression. I do not blame this minister for being "against the white man" I wish we could find someway to cross the divide. Unfortunately it continues to be an issue. As far as the comments about America, first of all they were not immigrants like most of us, think about it. And I know of at least 15 ministers that said the same thing about 911 being God's judgment, of which I do not believe, but would not walk out of church for their opinion. Obama was honest in his responses to these comments and I respect him for that. He cannot be held accountable for the comments of his pastor or friends or acquaintances. None of us could handle that high of standard. For the record, I am and always will be a republican and will be voting for John McCain, but this is an injustice to Senator Obama.

  • David Samuel - 18 years ago

Barack's records of public service should not be defined in terms of the unacceptable statements his pastor made. And why is every contributor so ready to condemn Barack because of his church? This is so wrong and hypocritical. John Mccain has been endorsed by Rod Parsley and John Hagee who also made damning statements against Catholics and Islams and the victims of Katrina but they are not held to the same standards as Rev Wright. Where is your sense of fairness and decency? Barack Obama is still the right candidate for president of the United States.

  • Kathie - 18 years ago

I just cannot get the image of OBAMA with his hands down during the National Anthem. Why is that not enough to see him as is really is??????

  • Nancy Cooperstown, NY - 18 years ago

I am thoroughly disgusted with FOX News and its right wing ilk. I denounce this coverage of the minister Wright as a political ploy--primarily being done to be sure that Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination. After all, the polls show that McCain could beat Hillary but not Obama. Well, I can only hope that other Obama supporters--many of whom may be conservative Republicans like myself--will see this for what it is--politics politics politics. Shame on you Fox News--shame on you. And do you really want to whip up the racial fires in America this way? CNN here I come!!

  • GP - 18 years ago

That just goes to show what niggers are about. Obama and/or the Democrats are toast. If Obama wins the nomination he will lose by a landslid. If Hillary gets the nomination then the niggers will explode and riot in the streets. She can't win that way. McCain will be the next President.
The blacks have risen to their level of incompetency. They should have stayed monkeys.

  • Candy-Mar14,10:35 - 18 years ago

God Bless America if this man become the commander in chief of the most powerful country in the world.God knows how many more skeleton he has in the closet .

  • Seri - 18 years ago

It is unfortunate that people are jumping on the band wagon to derail Obama's campaign. Let's not forget Obama did not make these comments...it is clear that the African American experience in America has been one of injustice. It does not take someone like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to persuade anyone of that, on the contrary, African Americans have lived the experience and in spite of it they are still actively participating as Americans.

Obama views are reflected in his actions--he has embraced all races of people, contrary to what negativity he is surrounded with. To say that his true colors are coming out and he is a liar is ludicrous and absurd! The man should be judged by his character and actions --not by a group of radical individuals who feel that they will be dethroned. I heard Gingrich make the comment earlier that these are the views of the extreme left--whether they be African American or White. Let's not continue to invoke double standards as the right always does--to imply that Obama is anti-white is absolutely ridiculous!

Take the blinders off and judge the man on his own character.

  • Valentin Casillas - 18 years ago

Well, this says a lot for Senator Obama. I am sure that we cannot afford to have anyone influenced by Pastor Jeremiah Wright in the Presidency. No Way Obama, No Way.

  • tom t - 18 years ago

HE IS A BIG LIAR for 20 yrs he did'nt know anything, he must not have ever talked to any one else that went to the church with him, because you would think a sermon like what we have seen would be the talk of the town,at least to any one that is a christian unless its just the norm.

  • George Ernst - 18 years ago

I have been a Republican my entire life, however I will never vote for a Repubican again. I have also been a fan of Fox News and your show. But the way you have covered this story of Obama's Pastors sermons and have found him guilty by association, I find unforgiveable and despicable you and your station sound like a bunch of hate mongers, This includes Hannity's program also.
    George

  • Mary - 18 years ago

I believe this can adversely affect Obama's standing. This scares me when thinking that this will give Hillary a "foot up" in the election. I am a Republican. However, of the two Democrats, I believe Obama would be the better Democratic choice. Now, I believe this uncovering can really hurt him...then we wind up with Hillary as the Democratic nominee. I believe this would truly be bad for our country.

If Obama intends to stand throughout this trial, I believe he needs not to waffle or seem nervous in his statements and/or defense. After all, there have been comments that my minister has made that I don't agree with. As churchgoers, a person doesn't have to agree with everything a minister says to continue to be faithful to his church. However, some of the statements Rev. Wright has made are extremely inflammatory. Obama needs to state EXACTLY what his beliefs are, just be straightforward - if he's a strong believer, a believer, or if he's a church-goer who goes because it "looks good and he needs to go because he wants to be electable in the religious crowd's eyes." I believe this needs to be addressed by McCain and Clinton, as well. I believe religiously, we need to know where these people are truly coming from

I'm a registered Republican but most important an American, I was shocked to hear this from Barack Obama's pastor. We are not stupid, he is saying he never heard this language before? who is he kidding. As far I see he should resign from the Senate. If Obama becomes President than that means in the future that a candidate that associates with anyone that is anti-america, terrorism or simply hoping for the destruction of this great nation can be a President. Americans have to start making better choises choosing our Leaders. I have a gut feeling Obama today said a lie, only time will tell.

    God bless America.

  • arthur carpenter - 18 years ago

i do not beleave he is what america needs if he can not even look at our flag and put his hand on his heart (is this a real american!!!!) do you want this kind of person running our country and now his rev. has spoken he can lie all he wants in 20+ yrs he has never heard all this (come on) .look at all the differant clothes he had on in differant sermans spoken on the fox tapes. we are not stupid.he is not an american and you that can not see he only wants your vote untill he gets in and then do you honestly think he will give a darn about you !!! come on, he should be asked to step down and go to his country to be president if thats how he fills about americans and to live by his mentour.. get him out hes not a true american

  • jay hamlin - 18 years ago

i don't think the above folks are Obama supporters but are probably a good measure tipical fox viewers. That's the value of the opinions given. I may vote for Obama but this won't affect my vote. Too much heat.

  • JoeyLee - 18 years ago

Well, It took a lot longer than I expected, but I knew there had to be some skeletons in BO's closets. I wondered how he might react when, in fact, something did. Boy! Did I ever underestimate the power of, at least so far, one, maybe two, skeletons?

IMHO, Barak had his chance to denounce it, was even warned about it a year ago, yet chose to let it "fade away". That, Y'all is NOT what I consider to be the credentials of the President of the US.

Hillary's On, Strong and Here in PA, we were all for her prior to all of this...

Obama has been going to this so called house of god(which I think is a house of Bigots) for 20 years and doesn't know what is being said..And he wants to run this country?? Only an IDIOT would vote for this guy now..Wake up America!!!!

  • Marianne - 18 years ago

If this man is a Christain pastor, God help the Christain Church. This preaching has nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I would question the values and more importantly the motives of anyone attending this man's church. The message this church is given is truly anti- American and anti-Christain. After 20 years B O surely knows what is the motive of this pastor. No American, democratic or republican, should vote for anyone coming from this type of mentoring.

  • mike - 18 years ago

what happened in iran in 1979, know your history only then will you understand the present, and no it don't mean that one is not patriotic, actually what is unpatriotic is having blind faith in the system

  • CM - 18 years ago

I am an 18 year old high school student. I admit, I was caught up in the Obama-mania. I had the shirts, and I spread the word. Right now, after seeing these videos, I'm about ready to burn those shirts. I am sickened by those videos. I had such faith in Obama that I was willing to look past Michelle Obama's comments as something said in the heat of the moment. But, it's all coming together now. I now see, that she had been influenced by this guy.
Obama tried to explain himself, but I found it unconvincing. How can he be a member of Rev. Wright's church, if you can even call it that, for 20 years and honestly try to deny any knowledge of his beliefs? I'm not buying it. Rev. Wright wasn't exactly trying to be discreet about his views. He put it out there, and Obama knew nothing of it? Lies! I'm really upset about this, and I will not be supporting him anymore.

  • Dan Clyburn - 18 years ago

This preacher is not a chirstian he's a racist and he didn't get that way overnight, he s been preaching that way for years. And Obama has heard it many times. It's an insult for him to lye about it. He's politacal statements should take the tax exemention away from the church. He seem to me that he want's to bring down our country and if it goes muslem we are doomed and so is the world. Obama's wife had a slip of the toung to, so I'm thinking Obama is not true American. McCain is our only hope.

  • Rosalie Hartigan - 18 years ago

I'm appalled. To hear a pastor spewing such venom from a pulpit about our Country is scary. To have a President in the White House who considers this pastor to be his mentor is terrrifying. I have been flip flopping between Hillary and Obama but after hearing Michelle's comments I more or less had made up my mind to back Hillary. Now this has clinched it. Keep Barack in Chicago.

  • Anita - 18 years ago

We all know Obama knew Wright's views. So now he has lied about knowing Wright's views. HUMMM I wonder what else he has lied about.

You guys might like to know that Michele Obamas theasis is about race and you would be able to read it except that it is blocked untill after the general election. Now why would they block it??????????

  • Mary Ann - Dayton - 18 years ago

    Hi Greta,

I don't believe Obama, just talking like a politican. I hope the American people are smart enough not to elect him.

    Mary Ann

  • Bea - 18 years ago

I only hope that people are not fooled by BO and his speeches that he is giving. God help our country if they don't and elect him President he scares me and I fear for the future of our nation. To say that he never heard any of these speeches given by his pastor is an insult to every person's intelligence. Wake up AMERICA!!!!!

  • Travis - 18 years ago

Is this the kind of "change" Barack is referring to!
I always remember what I was taught as a kid, "You can tell alot about a person by the company they keep!!
Is it true that he refuses to wear a US Flag lapel?
    Um.....

  • Claire - 18 years ago

He needs to resign. How can anyone trust him as our president.
His association for 20 years with the church and telling us he has NEVER heard his pastors words as we have heard them???? Can he disassociate himself from his UNCLE?

  • Luca Politi - 18 years ago

    Hi Greta,
I think that this turn in Obama's campaign is going to have a dramatic result in regards to his run for president. Even prior to this incident, no one has been sure on where he stands on certain issues. I believe that the real reason he has had such great success is because of his excellence in oratory and promising "change." However, he has not really announced any specific details. To put it truthfully, America doesn't know to much about this man.
Now, to get to the real question...will this have a very important effect on Barack's candidicy? My answer is yes because this incident greatly showed America what Barack is about. I hate to say it, but there have been many events that prove Barack's lack of patriatism. Baracks wifes statement, where she says that, "for the first time in my life I am proud of my country," and this event, demonstrate that there is much more to learn about Barack before electing him president. This tells me, as I hope it should tell the rest of America, that Obama isn't yet ready to be the leader of our country. I believe that the left-wing liberals will be forced to think again about why they shouldn't vote for Barack, effectively robbing Barack of so many votes and keeping him from the highest position available. This event purloins even further Obama's credibility and praises his mysteriousness, and that is why it is very important and could be fatal to his presidential race.

  • Kaleen - 18 years ago

I find this so-called minister abominable and extremely dangerous. I have never heard such racist trash and anti-American ranting. This is pure White hatred, and hatred of America. This man is a traitor to our country, and viciously dangerous. How can he call himself a man of God??? MY church never has had politics mentioned and surely nothing racist has ever been spoken.
Obama has to have known what this 'minister' is about, and I believe Obama is also a great danger to this country. We don't really know what he is truly about. He has been listening to this trash for 20 years??? God Help America! This man is his mentor??? Obama's mind must truly be poisoned by now. What WOULD he do to our country if elected???????????? How could anyone listen to this every week for 20 years???????????? I hope this is the end of Obama's run for President.

  • Waletta - 18 years ago

I don't understand why people are being so petty about things that come up about Obama and nothing is really being said about Hillary Clinton and her lies and her crying about what comes out about her from Obama's campaign. She can dish it but she can't take it. Also, no one is making a big deal about McCain and him being so old and what was said by his pastor. I know i don't want a person running our country who is just going to "kick the bucket" right after getting into office. Obama has been speaking about change from the very beginning and now he is being punished for something someone else said. It is suppose to be a free country. How is Obama suppose to control what someone says in their own church? As far as I've heard some of what the pastor had to say was truth and I'm not even racist at all. As far as I see its only the White people who are making a big stink about it and in my opinion its because the truth hurts. Is it not true that white people pushed the Native Americans out of their land? Is it not true that white people brought black people to America against their will? I'm all for peace and bringing EVERYONE together reguardless of color or religion, everything Obama has been trying to acheive. All of this pettiness just needs to be let go and stop making things worse and harder than they have to be. What voters really need to be looking at is how Hillary Clinton lies and embellishes the truth ALL the time and start questioning her methods and standards. As far as her plan on health care, I don't think that its right to force people into doing what they don't want to do. To me she's basically telling the people to shut up and do it or be punished, a dictatorship. To just up and take money from hard workers rather they want the health care or not is not right at all. To me thats robbery! People work hard for their money and the people should make the decision on how their money is spent and where it goes, not the government. Without the people there is no government. People need to focus on her more instead of Obama because the stuff that comes out is either from his past or out of his control and people need to stop acting like he is suppose to be so perfect and he's not. Nobody is perfect, not Obama, not McCain, and not Hillary Clinton. NOBODY! People need to realize that, but if you can't help yourselves and you just have to keep being petty, then be petty and make a big fuss about the issues that McCain has with his old age and make a big stink about the lies that Hillary Clinton tells and how shady she and her husband is.

  • Margaret O'Brien - 18 years ago

What really scares me is that this person is viewed by so many to be fit to run our country. Is it just me or have we lost our minds ?

  • Bill - 18 years ago

Obama cannot be trusted. He is not telling the truth about his affiliation with this radical. Who is this Obama anyway and how did he rise to the fame that he is enjoying. Also who does this preacher Wright think he is, downing America like he does. Maybe if he despises "White America" so much he should go live with Kadafy or go to Africa. He probably would not be as well fed there as he seems to be here. He also would not be enjoying the creature comforts that he seems not to appreciate living in this country. He has lost touch with reality for sure. This country of ours has made some mistakes in its 200+ years but we are new kids on the block compared to some of the countries that some people obviously relate to more. God bless America.

  • See Ya BHO - 18 years ago

I'm neither a shill or a McCain supporter, in fact I'm a true blue Democrat. Obama obviously hasn't had good judgment over things such as drug use, his associations, those raising campaign money for him, etc. His only claim to fame was that he was opposed to the war but by his own words, he said he didn't know how he would have voted if he was in the Senate at that time. Then he claims to be so stupid as to not know the real feelings of his "uncle" the preacher whom he's known for over 20 years. Please, does he think we are all idiots? He is not the man he is trying to make us believe he is. I hope his political career is done. It's apparent to me that he's not what he wants us to believe he is.

  • jill - 18 years ago

Well, we now know why Michelle Obama was never proud of her country. It would appear that she was listening when Wright was speaking....funny how her husband wasn't. Selective amnesia if you ask me. Also funny how we have not heard one peep from her since that remark. This man is a hate monger and if Barack Obama expects the American people to believe he knew nothing of this then he is deluded. Contrary to the preachings of his maniacal pastor........white americans are not the enemy and we are not stupid either.

  • eva - 18 years ago

the question i have wondered is, if j. Wright were a white paster, priest or a rabbi and gave these messages to the people . talking about other candidiates or leaders in office in such negative matter , wouldn't the ACLU be on his church door steps to take away the churches tax exemtion? he indorsed Obama in his church.

  • dj - 18 years ago

I always wondered where that nonsense about 911 being President Bush's fault came from. That doesn't even make sense, and is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.
I was also surprised to learn that because I'm white I'm rich. WoW! I wish I would have known sooner.
I find it hard to believe that Obama disagrees with this guy, because we have all witnessed that he doesn't pledge the legence to the flag, and of course we heard what his wife says she felt about America. Now this. Can, or has anyone else connected the dots here? The signs are staring us in the face, but the media (not Fox) refuse to let us know who this guy truly is. A president should love and defend his country. There can not be any reservations at all. We should not take for granted the freedoms that we have. It seems that many do, and I'm afraid we will pay a high price for it.

I believe if Obama wasn't running for president he wouldn't have denounced this monster parading around as a preacher. The only message that seems more important to him is spreading te message of hate and dividing the country. There is NO WAY in any life time that I would vote for Obama.

Obama's association with this devil who calls himself a pastor, even up until very recently, tells me that he is not on the level, and America deserves much better than this no matter what party we are affiliated with.

  • Carl Link - 18 years ago

People who are Christans do not condem other people for what they believe. They simply try to get them to see the light. To many white people prefer to pretend that racism never existed, but it did. I am a blue eyed blond. Grew up in Monett, MO., all white-no blacks allowed. No Catholics for many years either. I can recall my Mother saying to me (early fifties) Carl Dean, if you take a Catholic, a Jew, a Communist and a Niger and put them in a paper bag, shake them up and pour them out you cannot tell the difference. I thank God I left Monett 50 years ago. The pastor of the Church in Illinois might believe what he said, so what. Does not mean everyone that attended the Church did. Most people in the United States believe that there is a God and that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. We have people in Government that do not believe there is a God, and people that do not accept that Jesus was the Son of God. We don't condem them and ask Christans in Congress to disassociate themselves from them. The root cause of conflict in the Middle East is religious in nature. One sect of Islam hates people that are not Muslem.
I THINK THE CLINTON'S AND THE MEDIA HAVE DONE MORE TO DIVIDE AMERICA BETWEEN WHITE AND BLACK DURING THIS CAMPAIGN, THAN THE KLU KLUX CLAN (WHICH WERE ALL REPUBLICANS) DID DURING THEIR REIGN OF TERROR.

  • sue smith - 18 years ago

I am amazed at how long it took the news media to see what was so very obvious from the beginning. Obama was never forthcoming with any personal statements, even when his wife made the statement that she'd never been proud of being an American until Obama got the nomination.
In my opinion, he fits the profile of what I think the Anti-Christ will be.
America,WAKE UP!!!!!!!!! This is not the man to lead our country!
We need a leader that believes in God, prays to the ONLY God, & last, but not least, LEADS our country in the pledge of allegience, and believes every word of it.
I think any man or woman that qualifies, should be able to run for president, but I do not think anyone, no matter what color, or religion, should be a part of our government, in any office, if he/she is not totally committed to our country and it's best interest.
NO ONE goes to a church for 20 years without believing what it teaches...not even Senator Obama. He would have found another church as fast as he could, as any one of us would. And as for him never hearing any of these scathing sermons personally, GET REAL!!! Who does he think he's kidding?

  • Evelyn Glover - 18 years ago

Although this so called pastor has retired, he is still advising Obama and is a member of his campaign. This says much about who Obama will be listening to during his term as president should he win, God forbid. This gaff is going to haunt him all through his campaign.

  • Jan Nel - 18 years ago

Obama would be a pretty good president in Africa, send him to Kenya!!!

  • Susan C - 18 years ago

I think we are starting to get to know the real Obama! It shows that he is a liar. You can't possibly go to a church for twenty years and not know that the pastor that married you and baptized your children is a hate spreading racist. Please expose them for what they are, I know I will

  • Nancy - 18 years ago

Voters needed this. A real issue. Wake up and smell the coffee...got your head out of the clouds now I bet! The character of someone is just as important as to the substance of a person. Just picture Obama sitting with his children and wife on Sunday morning, taking in this pastor's words. Yea, sure, Obama had no idea! How stupid does he think the American people are?
    That's his substance, not mine!

  • Malia - 18 years ago

I just got through watching the interview with Major Garrett and Obama. To me it is obvious that this is a serious problem! And, I am proud to see that majority of Americans who voted on this topic see it as a serious problem as well! It was interesting to observe Obama being at a loss for words, when he was so well known for being an eloquent speaker. I have love and respect for this country! And I would hate to see him as our future president when he has a "mentor" that damns it!
    God Bless America!

does obama expect the american people to believe that in 20 years of affiliation with rev wright that the only times he chose to use this deplorable anti american reteric was only when obama was NOT PRESENT? i don't think so. WAKE UP AMERICA!

It concerns me that Sen. Obama states he was unaware of his pastor's viewpoints. He has known his pastor for 20 years. Does American really want a man for president that apparently can be so naive and unknowing about the obvious? What will he do with foreign affairs and the welfare of the United States? Will he miss the obvious with important matters? Doesn't sound like the right candidate to me.

  • Yen - 18 years ago

I don't believe Senator Obama was not aware of Pastor Wright's many racist sermons. It was not just this past December, he's been preaching in that manner for years. Mrs. Michelle Obama clearly showed this influence when she said that it was the first time she is proud of her own country, and comments about the oppression of white people at Princeton.

I also don't believe Senator Obama's denouncement tonight. He should have quit that church years ago if he was really against those sort of things.

  • KB - 18 years ago

It is too late for Obama to denounce his pastor! It would do him no good to try to back away from Wright now. Wright has been planting the seed of hate in Obama's brain for over 20 years. If that weren't bad enough Obama chose to take his kids to this church so Wright could plant the seed of hate in their brains. Hate breeds hate!

Wright is Obama's friend, he is like an uncle to him, he is his spirtual leader, he gave him inspiration for a book and to top it all off Obama chose Wright to be on his campaign's "African American Religious Leadership Committee."

The lyrics to an old Styx song fits Obama quite well, "THE JIG IS UP THE NEWS IS OUT THEY'VE FINALLY FOUND ME!"

Greta, it's people like you who feed and gloat on statements like this. You people need to get a life. All you do is fan the flames. What's the matter ? Are you afraid off the truth? Check your history, everything Rev. Wright said has happen to Black People in America. But, inspite off all the wrong they have suffered. They still try to get along with you people. It's a shame you people don't want BO to bring this country together. I hope H. Clinton is happy, she will stop at nothing to get her way, by any means necessary! How much did she pay you to fan the flames???????????

  • Robert A. Brown - 18 years ago

The Senator actually wants us to believe that he has known the pastor for 20 years and has never heard any of these comments? Did he evder lookl atg the website of the church? Ob ama/s wife believes exactly what the pastor preaches! but she was given the best educatkion possible and probably kept some white student that was more qualified from receiving that same free education. He would be the laughing stock of the world if he were elected. As President you can't vote PRESENT!!

  • Juan - 18 years ago

I'm Hispanic but my last two regular churches have been predominantly black with black pastors. At the first church I've heard things preached from the pulpit occasionally that were similar to Rev. Wright's comments. I didn't leave that church over those ravings though I didn't agree with them because they were not the daily focus of the messages from the pulpit. I also don't see people running from John Hagee's church (which I have also visited) because of his views of the Roman Catholic church which I'm sure that not every single last member of his church agrees with. Nor do I see people leaving in droves from Rod Parsley's church (whose programming I watch) despite his denunciatory messages against Islam which are at the very least inflammatory, which doubt are unanimously agreed with by his congregation and viewers. It is foolish and disingenuous to presume that just because a person (like Obama or myself) is able to tolerate the intolerant views of a pastor (which are but a tiny fraction of the pastor's entire repertoire of views) that they agree with those views and that their pastor is some sort of Machiavellian Svengali with total and absolute control over them as though they were a robot. I thought John Kennedy put to rest the fear of the idea that a President might wind up being some sort of vassal with ultimate fealty to their religious leader. Personally, I think the fuss is being raised because many in white America hear Rev. Wright's remarks and subconsciously insert the phrase "Kill Whitey" between each and every line, just because they see an angry old black preacher ranting about the bitterness of his life's experience. And for most people that mental re-editing is born from fear of angry blacks and perhaps even some degree of a guilty conscience. For another few it's just an excuse to justify holding on to their own hatred and racism.

Well, I see this paster's comments being used to divert peoples attention away from the campagn stats and the NY senator who shipped whores to NY. The pastor has said some things about America that should not have been said, but who's idea was it to bring it up now while Hillary is getting her butt kicked.. Think about all of the dirt that would come back up if Bill is camping out in the White house. Take your pick! This whole thing about trying to get Obama to denounce people is just another political stunt to get the voters to change their minds. Hillary is not as tough as she appears to be, she is just determined to not have a Black man as the president of the United States. And everybody else who feels the same way as Hillary (news reporters u2) will do whatever it takes to sway the vote. Excuse my typos, but if u r edumacated, you will get the messges.

hi Greta. I think the pastor is wrong for his actions and deserved to step down. but i do not believe the rev's actions should be reflected upon BHO because you cant control what your friends do you can disagree an advise them to stop but in the end it is up to them to change. we have'nt seen racist behavior from BHO. are we seriously saying that BHO is who his friends are? and if you are who your friends are is hailary a racist supporter of prostitution? Judge people on ther actions not the actions of there peers!

    1. If Barack was not aware of such things going on in his own church, how can he be entrusted with the whole United States.
    2. Why has everyone said that what Geraldine Ferraro was wrong? Even on Fox news --every one seems to be afraid of daring to agree with a whiteperson who says something publicly about a (partially) black man. The truth is IF HE WERE A WHITE MALE SENATOR WITH NO APPARENT NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, he dang sure would not be where he is today and how any one can deny that is beyond me. If he were white---THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF BLACK FOLKS WOULD NOT HAVE VOTED IN THIS PRIMARY ELECTION. AND HE (A WHITE MAN) WOULD NOT BE IN THE RUNNING AT THIS POINT----because those thousands of blacks and certainly not many white folks would go out to vote for a young, inexperienced white man. CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THAT WAS WRONG???????? It makes me a little disappointed to not see even ONE person stand up and say "Why was she wrong?-if you seriously think about it -- it's the truth!"
    3. Why is the Trinity church not being investigated by the IRS for their political stumping from the pulpit.

    4. About ASHLEY, why is she not being prosecuted if what they did is illegal- why should she be able to write a book about an illegal activity and make money?

  • martha - 18 years ago

there are good americans of all races. Obama and his associated are not among them. He is attemting to lead this country down a road of hate. He will do anything and say anything to get elected. For twenty years he has been part of hate america with his spiritual leader and advisor. They are racist and anti-america. They want a black, left wing america. Tonight good ameicans of all backgrounds should be scared to death. Obama's election will be the distruction of this nation--

  • Scott - 18 years ago

Greta, This is very important to me and I am a regular church attendee and I have moved churches that did not teach me what the Bible said. That means if the preacher made comments that did not correctly line up with the Bible then that preacher was placing opinion on me and my wife and children and not teaching me what the Bible was stating nor what the Holy Spirit of God was directing him to say. I would not be accepted by anyone if I stated that I was directing my church at one specific race. God does not call on specific races as different he says to love our neighbors and if we would just go back to the buildings in Washington D.C. and just video the etchings in the stone we would simply see what our founding fathers were stating but to be P.C. people have become tolerant. The Bible shows no signs of being tolerant to things that went directly against God or His commandments. God says to Forgive each other of our wrong doings and Obama's Preacher has not forgiven the people for bringing Africans here for slavery nor has he forgiven any of the other wrongs that he stands so strongly on. Like America is being controlled by "Rich White People". He is free to say these things because many white americans died for his freedoms but he probably only considers the black deaths in war real deaths. This is the type of thinking that makes me concerned that if he feels this strongly about America then he could very easily leaned his sermons toward this bias. That means that Obama and his family have been placed under this influence since 1991 or 1992. If he was not a regular attendee then he does not have a real Christian view and Biblical sense about him and this causes me concern as well. He said he was a regular attendee in spurts. This seems to me to be a Church attendee/Christian out of necessity not from a conviction to the Bible and to God. I am not concerned about him dropping out because if you look at

Romans 13: (Read the whole chapter but here are some verses)

Verse 1 (NIV) "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established."

Verse 6 (NIV) "This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing.

These statements are true by the word of God the Holy Bible. I know that there will come a time that for the "Will" of God to become true in itself we are going to have to be placed under the governing of people that have the views that are non Biblical and with the focus going away from the Ten commandments and the Bible that we are in a position for the non believer to see themselves as right. There is a place in the Bible that states that in paraphrase, the non believer does not see the wrong they do. So for people to think they are right and the Bible is wrong is written that they can not see where they are wrong and therefore think that they are right. The Bible also states that "a Fool is right in his own eyes". So Obama and the followers of this pastor may very well think that they are right until met with resistance as Obama has and then they waffle or change their statement. If Obama or anyone else for that matter tries to stay true to God and the Bible, the Word of God then they have to only answer to God not anyone else for we are not to judge or we will be judged. God is the only judge. But we can hold people accountable to the Word of God and that is what people are trying to do without coming right out and saying it but Hannity has been the closest to doing that so far. Thank you for your time and thank you for reporting the facts. Keep up the great work!

I'm a republican and was starting to look at Obama at someone who might be able to make a difference. After watching Rev. Wright I'm infuriated to watch this man call himself a man of God. He preaches eye for an eye and racism in his own congregation. Martin Luther King would turn over in his own grave to see someone of his own race desecrate what he tried to undo in his life time. He speaks of the unjust that was done to his race here in America, why does he not go to Africa where his people is being genicide on a daily basis. I hate speaking of the blacks as his people because I never thought that way till he made a division between americans and blacks. I will never ever vote for Osama after this, for no one associates with someone for 20 years and then conveniently disassociates themselves from them.

    Proud to be an American,
    Alice P.

This is Outraegeous & took over a year before a thing came out. WHY ??? Obama heard these hatred remarks against America & apparentally agreed to them. (NO NOT APPARENTALLY>>> HE AGREED) Now his mentor is as Obama states he was a Pastor of Faith. FAITH TO WHO ???? Over 20 + Years & firsttime heard this Hatred against America & own Wife said America is a Nation in which she despises. Be realistic & now YOU KNOW as to his Beliefs & are not for the American People. See him & his Expressions as I never heard these or would never have gone there. What a Blatant slap in the Face to those which admire this ..... Now you know where his multi millions come from & you guess. Let him in & MUSLIMS OWN AMERICA. Almost do now as are buying foreclosures up like nothing as they have your GAS MONEY & a few Million is like a dollar to them. WATCH. Anyone which is Intelligent knows that are Banks & Brokerage are being bought by Foreighn Investors & Hate to say but our President does "SHIT" Oil Oil & to Hell with Protecting America. Hey I care less as will no longer VOTE as it is rigged. Never happen but if the Working class were to not go to work or drive for just 2 day's the BIG SHOTS would crumble. Just 2 Day's.

Then none of the candidates are worthy to run for President of the United States of America. None! McCain has Hagee and Parsley! WOW! There's not one politician, Democrat or Republican who has been perfect! It's called being HUMAN! Bill Clinton had his affairs, yet is still regarded as a good president to this day. No wonder we have a challenge with good men running for the highest office in the land. This is what turns people off on politics AND religion!!! Rev. Wright IS NOT running for president~~~~~Barack Obama is. Hagee and Parsley aren't running for president~~~~McCain is. Bill Clinton isn't running for president~~~~Hillary is. Do we hold candidates responsible for connections? If we do~~~~~then America may never have a president that can bring the change that our country needs. I'm sick of the fighting on the airwaves and I'm tired of having a two party system! Nobody agrees with anything~~~~~seems like all anyone wants to do his bicker and argue. If YOU have all the answers and if you're perfect~~~~~~PLEASE run for president! P.S. I just hope that you're life has been without blemish. You probably would be a fantastic candidate~~~~~but, you'll probably be crucified before you even get to first base! And America would have never had the chance to find out how great a president you would have been. Too bad!

How can you call someone your "Menotor", "Uncle", "Close Friend" and not have heard those same comments that spewed from his "Pastors" mouth even in a casual, social and personal conversation. The tone and passion that he spoke such evil, hatred and vulger words in the pulpit has to be this man's complete personality, spirit and demeanor. You can't convince me nor do I believe you can any True Christian Americans that this type of attitude or negative comments about white people, or Americans has never come up between Barack and his pastor. Someone that passionate and radical about hating white people and America only has one mission and that is to never let blacks forget to NEVER FORGIVE & ALWAYS HATE WHITE PEOPLE. You don't go to a church and have a relationship with the pastor and call him friend/mentonr/Uncle for 20 years without sharing some kind of common bond and ideas and not know what a person stands for or how they feel or issues, then all of a sudden election time you are shocked by his values about the nation you want to represent. Come On America.

IF Mr. Obama knows this little about those as close to him as Pastor Wright then what expectation should we have of Mr. Obama's JUDGEMENT in making political appointees as PRESIDENT????

  • Senator Obama needs to change churches. As an Episcopalian, I invite him to join us. In Chicago, there is a very fine parish called Church of The Atonement at Kenmore & Ardmore where he will be most at home.
