Go Jules go!! This lovely lady brings books to life for all of us, especially our children. While Julie is around, we have no fears that books would someday be a bygone fancy. We are just so blessed in Ballarat to have her. Best of luck, not that you need it.

I have no hesitation in voting for Cindy Smith as she is a wonderful person to have in our local library. Cindy has a great personality and is more than willing to help solve any quiries you may have in regards to books or any of the products handled in the library. Cindy is greatly involved in the youth of the community which is great to see as the youth in small towns really do need someone to take an interest in the things they need and like to do. Good luck Cindy whether you win the most popular Librarian or not you are a great asset to Gundagai.

My daughter and I came to Gully Gumnuts reading time at the library and met Sue Wootton. She is such a lovely person, remembering my daughter's name from the very first day onwards. There are many children who attend the reading time but Sue knows them all, and takes time to say hello to them all. When she walks through the library with her book trolley, it's like a rock star has arrived. All the little kids come running over to say hi and jump up and down with excitement to hear Sue read and sing with them. All the librarians on here who are nominated do awesome work, but we'd really love Sue to win :O)

  • David Marley - 13 years ago

The Mum's groups have benefited so much from having her speak to them about reading to your baby. She is really making a difference to WA. For almost 20 years Dominique has been at AH Bracks & her enthusiasm for the job has never waned. Good luck Dominique!

I work with young people struggling with education and participation in society. We conduct a large chunk of our time at our local libary. This is because Peter Papandriopoulos and the other staff make us feel so welcome and do their very best to accomodate all our requests. He has contributed in no small way to the journey these teenagers are on. Thank you Peter. Your skill and kindness makes a difference!

  • Linda Padayachee - 13 years ago

    What a wonderful lady.

  • Lindsay Lois Arthur - 13 years ago

I see Sylvia Cockburn as bringing books to the bush. She is a marvellously public spirited person, very charismatic, and a true community leader The Chillagoe library, where Sylvia has worked loyally for over a decade, is very isolated very rugged and this makes the scale of her achievements and commitment. even more outstanding. As Sylvia is nearing the end of her working life this award would be a wonderful way of thanking her. Thanks for considering Sylvia.

  • Michelle Pala - 13 years ago

Jake: could lead you to the book you want blindfolded, tell you about it in 50 words and crack a witty comment/joke at the same time. Cheers mate.

  • Sandy Sorensen - 13 years ago

Jane is just so helpful and passionate

  • Bill Blades - 13 years ago

Eric Dodson is the librarian with an eagle's eye for a mis-shelve, a saint's touch in helping a bamboozled borrower, a discerning virtuoso's ear in recommending audio-books and CDs and a rain-man's mind for recalling requested holds and borrowers' preferences........and all this done with with his ever present smile.......

If the relevant quotation - "a library is a hospital for the mind" - is indeed true then he is triage officer, chief surgeon, dispensing pharmacist, therapist and social worker all in one......

Eric is the complete librarian package that I like to admiringly call the "BIBLIOTHEQUE FREAK" of Lane Cove Library...........................

Amongst the fine staff at Lane Cove Library you get my vote Mr Dodson.............best of luck.

  • Tracey Essery - 13 years ago

    Eric all the way!

i would like to place 300 votes for jake livingston - he is fun and helpful even to little old hells grannys like me. i'd be really lost without jake to give me a hard time each visit to the yass library/ willing to find anything needed, willing to have a conversation, i can't speak too highly of jake as my favourite librarian. it is a shame he is recognised in your blurb as only great with the kids because i'd say he was great with all ages. what else can i say VOTE FOR JAKE!

  • Melanie Barton - 13 years ago

Jenny is always so helpful and is a lovely friendly face for the Dampier Community Libriary.

  • wendy Van Dongen - 13 years ago

    A wonderful community member!

  • Mary Fleming - 13 years ago

With literacy levels in our young people declining, libraries are part of the building blocks in a child's education. Little Ollie has a love of reading and Sue makes the library a very special place for him. Ollie is only 4 years old but one of his favourite places to visit is Ferntree Gully Library because of the fantastic environment that Sue facilitates. Sue is dedicate, warm, inclusive and takes an interest in Ollie's interests. He brings home books on his favourite subjects that Sue has especially put aside for him.
It takes a community to raise a child and Sue is very much a part of Ollie's community. Thank you Sue for the care and dedication that you show and know that your efforts are very much appreciated.
