I have no hesitation in voting for Cindy Smith as she is a wonderful person to have in our local library. Cindy has a great personality and is more than willing to help solve any quiries you may have in regards to books or any of the products handled in the library. Cindy is greatly involved in the youth of the community which is great to see as the youth in small towns really do need someone to take an interest in the things they need and like to do. Good luck Cindy whether you win the most popular Librarian or not you are a great asset to Gundagai.

My daughter and I came to Gully Gumnuts reading time at the library and met Sue Wootton. She is such a lovely person, remembering my daughter's name from the very first day onwards. There are many children who attend the reading time but Sue knows them all, and takes time to say hello to them all. When she walks through the library with her book trolley, it's like a rock star has arrived. All the little kids come running over to say hi and jump up and down with excitement to hear Sue read and sing with them. All the librarians on here who are nominated do awesome work, but we'd really love Sue to win :O)

This is because Peter Papandriopoulos and the other staff make us feel so welcome and do their very best to accomodate all our requests. He has contributed in no small way to the journey these teenagers are on. Thank you Peter. Your skill and kindness makes a difference!

I see Sylvia Cockburn as bringing books to the bush. She is a marvellously public spirited person, very charismatic, and a true community leader The Chillagoe library, where Sylvia has worked loyally for over a decade, is very isolated very rugged and this makes the scale of her achievements and commitment. even more outstanding. As Sylvia is nearing the end of her working life this award would be a wonderful way of thanking her. Thanks for considering Sylvia.

If the relevant quotation - "a library is a hospital for the mind" - is indeed true then he is triage officer, chief surgeon, dispensing pharmacist, therapist and social worker all in one......

With literacy levels in our young people declining, libraries are part of the building blocks in a child's education. Little Ollie has a love of reading and Sue makes the library a very special place for him. Ollie is only 4 years old but one of his favourite places to visit is Ferntree Gully Library because of the fantastic environment that Sue facilitates. Sue is dedicate, warm, inclusive and takes an interest in Ollie's interests. He brings home books on his favourite subjects that Sue has especially put aside for him.
It takes a community to raise a child and Sue is very much a part of Ollie's community. Thank you Sue for the care and dedication that you show and know that your efforts are very much appreciated.
