What is a news organization? I would think a group of people that report on current events that occur around the world. That is what Fox news does. Now does Fox news have a biased? I would say for the most part yes! They tend to lean to the conservative view, however I think that is balanced by some other networks leaning toward the liberal view. When most people say that Fox is not fair and balanced they are referring to one or more of the opinion shows that appear on Fox. We should always be reminded that shows of this nature are biased to the opinion of the host, however I have found that the information presented on these shows is normally factual and to the point.
A better poll would be do you think Obama and the left wing liberals are destroying this country? To that I say YES it is almost beyond saving.

I watch Fox news. The one thing that not many have commented on is that Beck, O'Rielly, Hannity and Van Susteren are commentators. They don't pretend to broadcast news. If you watch them it is because you want to hear their opinions on the news. Do not call me a mindless sheep because I want to watch a broadcast that reflects the opinions that I agree with. If you agree that Obama is doing what he promised he would do, watch any of the other networks. Fox is the only network that has the guts to show what Obama is really doing to our country. We'd better wake up or we're going to become a country none of us will recognize or want.

I've watched in horror as Iran's people have continuously lost personal freedoms, the freedom to vote, the freedom of speech, the freedom of public gatherings and now Im watching in horror as my own personal freedoms are being taken away. When Geo W Bush was president, people protested constantly about his actions and were not silenced. In fact, the media had a great time covering each protest. Under the Obama adminstration, protesting does not appear to be allowed. Tomorrow (11/1/09) at the Newseum is a program called "Listen Up Mr President" and I hope he does.
Things are not boding well for America and our freedoms under the Obama administration. I'm with FOX on this one and would have been for CNN under the previous administration. While I'm not a strong fan of FOX I do agree with freedom of the press. We don't need Big Brother to tell us what to think, that is our responsibility, and fortunately for us, a freedom, to evaluate the information and choose.
When I asked an immigrant from Africa what was it about American that she most appreciated, she said "free speech". In her country you could not speak against the administration without fear of prison and unspeakable, inhumane, treatment.
We cannot allow freedom of speech to be taken away, we cannot allow the government to control our media, including the Internet. To do so, would push us further down a slippery slope that we wouldn't want our children living under.

I find that the Fox News telecasts, during which the news of the day is reported, generally are impartial and sometimes revealing, as they should be. I find that the "name" commentators -- Beck, O'Reilly at al -- have a definite conservative, Republican flavor -- as they should have. Otherwise, they would not be worth the airtime that Fox allots to them. For those of us seeking balance in the electronic presentation of news and commentary daily, Fox is providing it. Hope it continues.

After watching 10 U.S. Presidents - beginning with Eisenhower - in my lifetime, I conclude the eleventh and his staff are amateurs at best. At worst they are stupid. Apparantly they don't pay attention to the ratings numbers.
King Obama and the rest of the White House Comrades need to be watch carefully. Enough of our freedoms have been swept away by this administration. We need more conservative media to watch out for the liberal followers who just agree because they are afraid of the repercussions from this administration. These are dangerous times for all Americans. At least Fox News questions what is going on. Keep them quiet and what will you have? One may view FOX news as a conservative source and that would be correct. They would also be something they would cencede. They also have a number of liberal & independant commentators on their news panel including:

They want to turn the United States into another dictator type country that the people depend entirely on a few. Look at Cuba, North Korea, Venazuala etc. Is that where we want to be? I think not. The idea that there is Globle warming happening is crap. Cap and Trade will increase the cost of everything we purchase, the Obamacare plan will bankrupte our country, they want control of banks, television, radio, internet, newspapers, and on and on.

There are taxpayers and voters that seem to think it is fine for Obama to travel around the world and our country trashing our Constitution, spending millions of taxpayer dollars in the process, pushing for everyone to get the flu shots but refuses to let his own daughters get it because of the risks. There also seems to be many who believe everything will be given to them. Try working for what you get, novel idea huh! A major 20 year study was just completed on Globle Warming. The amount of Co2 being emmited is very small. It would take 33 years with no cars, trucks, trains, airplanes, factories etc to lower the temp 1 degree. In case people haven't noticed we have had the coolest summer in a decade. Our area only had about 4 days all summer in the 90 degree range. So much for Globle warming. Don't believe people such as Al Gore, he has made over a 100 million dollars spewing his bull on this. Wake up people. If you want to be told everything you can and can't do, and what time you WILL do it then by all means keep the radicals in office.

I probably listen to Daniel Schorr more times than I watch Hannity. I am a democrat and voted for Obama in the primary for my state, but did not vote for him in the general election after I learned of his agenda. I learned of his agenda, not from Fox News, but from doing my own research on the internet about his speeches and limited voting record. I do not agree with his administration's attempt to discredit any news source. Let the people decide what information source they want. This is beginning to remind me of the Nixon years, a truly dark period.

FOX news definitely has a lean toward conservative views. Just as MSNBC has a lean toward liberal views. That's the beauty of American freedom in the press! You can lean anyway you like. It's up to the person reading or viewing to determine how creditable that report is to them. That's why it's called "Freedom of the Press". The day we allow an administration to dictate a precedent, that will last forever, to whom it will consider as a creditable news outlet, is the day we give up our freedom of speech in the press. This administration leans liberal...so they exclude FOX news. Now, using this precedent, the next administration, that very well could lean conservative, excludes MSNBC and so on it goes. Not where we as America want to go. Let's all stand up and “nip this one in the bud”. Support the movement to stop exclusion of any press organization by this or any future administration, period.
Hmmm. Questions were asked of previous administrations that were not popular from other news services, did they bar any reporters? What's he really afraid of, the power of the press? Or the truth in the hands of the people?

Where is FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! We need more outspoken media who aren't afraid to say what they think and project their ideas. We need a media that will represent the American Citizen and what they think and want, not a government that treats us like idiots and only give the news they want us to hear. All I will say is that some of the Fox people have distorted some facts to make them more in tune with their own opinions. Glenn Beck can provide plenty of sources in his latest book, and make them seem to justify his own opinion, but he uses old news - in some cases over ten years old - and suggests that things have not changed since then.
Distortion and misuse of facts is as bad as out and out lying. That does his case harm, but it also shows that he treats his readers as though they are dumb and ignorant.
That's a good enough reason for me to not listen to him any more. He's only in it for the money, and making money through false pretences. He's as bad as the ones he criticizes.

It's surely worth noting that, during the previous eight years when G. W. Bush was the President, Fox News and the associated similar pundits (Rush Limbaugh etc) were all in favor of the governments actions.
Now we have someone who is from another political party (and with different abilities, it must be said) who is not as ostensibly belligerent as Bush was, but far more interested in communication and reconciliation, and Fox News etc. are almost maniacally against him and everything he attempts and stands for.
I side with the White House on this, simply because there ARE checks and balances - whether or not they are used - for government. But an unelected organization, with a powerful access to the public ear and ability to mold public opinion, is riding rough-shod over an elected body.
If there is such a strong case against Obama, he should be impeached. If he is not, the strident voices need to accept their own unwillingness to take that step, and explain why.

How long does the country's independence last? They all fall victim to their own gov't. Since when did Obama become King or....... God? Oh yes don't forget he also said he would be glad to discuss it with anyone who had any questions'. Well tell us please which one of these promises has he kept? Not one so far. He has lied and said abortion is not there, but it is.He has said it would not cover illegal aliens but it does. He has said it will not limit health care, but it does. He has said there are no 'death panels' but they are. He said health care won't be limited but it is. "Special needs people, like Sarah Palin's Special needs baby would have to wait for a government committee or person to decide what or if it could be treated. Expressly says Special needs people would be limited. He stated boldly that if mis-information was given out 'He would call you out". And surprise surprise, When Rep Wilson Called him out about a statement he made instead of listening to why Wilson said that and getting it straight he didn't respond because he knew that Wilson knew the truth.Of course the House Dems throwed a fit and wanted to impeach Wilson and to Wilson's credit, he apologized for yelling out during the speech but not for what he said.What he said is true.
So what is the White House hiding that they are afraid of what FOX News is finding out? So afraid in fact they wanted to keep Major out of the news pool covering another of his Lackeys.
And not a word from them to actually disprove ANYTHING Fox has reported or commented on.
Oh the President and Mr Gibbs have repeatedly snarled down their noses at what Fox has reported and more or less threatened the other news media that they would be targeted too if they followed Fox's news breakers and they have said they were giving 'mis-information & trying to use scare tactics' but they have never brought one shred of proof of the many "mis-informations' they claim Fox is releasing and for all his celebrity scenes on the other night time shows the President has refused to actually talk to Fox and bring the proofs and showed them on TV.T Fox News would apologize if he proved them wrong

The president and all of his men do not like Fox news because they do not want to answer questions that might uncover their agenda. Obama and crew are afraid that the rest of the media will wake up and strat asking the same questons. Fox must go before the rest come to their senses.
I am still waiting to see Obama's birth certificate, school records, medical records, passport information, articles written for the Harvard Review, senior thesis. I may be loony but it is my right to ask and my right to say Obama is a fraud. Now prove me wrong. We have no information to cback up who he says he is and he fights any attempt to find the information. Why do you suppose he does this? What is he hiding? My take: I watch Fox and CNN and MSNBC (and listen to NPR). Fox obviously leans to the right but makes a valiant attempt to be balanced in overall programming. CNN leans slightly left. Both attempt to be fair and each is somewhat balanced. MSNBC leans heavily left and is extremely biased. NPR seems to be very non-partisan and presents itself that way; but if you pay attention to the questions that are asked, etc., you can see that they are very partisan and lean heavily left although the approach is subtle and perhaps unintentional.

These blogs on left-leaning media websites, like this one, serve an important purpose. They let Liberals demonstrate how nasty and hateful they actually are. Then the few people who are able to think critically and who pay any attention at all to these biased leftist public relations organs that try to mask themselves as news organizations can see what Leftists are really all about.

Fox News is not really rightist or conservative. They are a true customer-oriented media company that recognized that all the major news media have long ago sold out to the statist agenda of the Left and that many people in this coutnry still would like to hear news based on fact, not fabrication and agenda pushing. They are simply filling a gap that is making them the most popular cable netwrok and possibly soon the most popular network of any kind.
Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are conservative. Fox is simply a news network that also offers opinion--both left- and right-leaning opinion.
I think that Liberalism has taken over America like a cancer takes over a body and that more than half the states, Texas among them, need to get the hell out of this union before all our freedom is lost.
If Liberals like the Fascism that is consuming America, they should have it. We do not all like it and we should nor have if forced upon us, though. The states are joined voluntarily and they are subordinate only to the Constitution, not to the President, the Congress or any political party.
In the Soviet Union you had to be a member of the Communist Party to do busienss. When Obana's henchmen shut down hundreds of dealerships based only on which poplitical party they had contributed to we sank to the level of the old failed Soviet Union.
Then, check out which banks contributed to the Democrats and which received handouts of our tax money. Hmmmm!

Fox News is time and time again #1 in ratings, because smart people are figuring out that the papers and tv media do not report news anymore they do what they are told, and write opinion pieces or just make it up out of thin air. I used to watch the major news channels about 70% of the time and fox news the other 30% until this last election. I do not like news agencies getting involved in politics. I appreciate fox for providing discussions on both sides of an issue and then allowing me to decide who is more correct. When I compare what is broadcast on ABC,NBC,CBS and CNN with FOX I can see many examples of major news stories being mentioned on FOX but not on any of the other stations. I think if we allow the current democratic government to have their way we could end up like China or North Korea where you only are told what the government wants you to hear. This country was founded on freedoms like speech, being able to work hard and make money and keep it and also to have all of the information on issues to make a decision.

Anyone who thinks FOX should be silenced should try to watch the drivel coming from MSNBC Oberman should keep tissues close by to wipe the Pres. Jizz off his face once and awhile. That station is sooooooo bias it's laghable but nobody calls for them to be sanctioned.

The President and Mr. Gibbs NEVER said that Fox would be barred from the press corps nor have they said "you can't ask us tough questions".
What they did do is to tell it like it is, Fox "News" does act more like a right wing talk radio show/station than a news organization.
Now the Fox News watchers will say : "Well, what about Olbermann? and Schultz and Maddow? Aren't they putting forth a liberal agenda/opinion?"
The answer is yes but they are opinion/politics shows, during the day when MSNBC is doing news it's actually news and actually balanced and they do not treat the aforementioned shows as "news".
I would also like to point out that whenever Keith, Rachel or Ed gets something wrong they correct it immediately, they tell you what was said, that it was erroneous then furnish you with the correct information and even APOLOGIZE for the error.
When have you EVER heard Fox news do that? The answer is NEVER because they believe the lies that they spew every day.
There's an old saying that goes: "Tell a lie long enough and you'll start believing it" that's Fox's mantra, lie and believe the lie so that it can be perpetuated with that much more certainty so that when someone who is less informed hears it they take it as gospel.
Plain and simple I'm glad the president stood up to them, it needed to be done.
This president and administration doesn't shy away from tough questions and have been very much inclusive of all points of view hence Obamas dinner at George Will's house with conservative columnists.
The same cannot be said for President Bush who had nothing but disdain for anybody who didn't fall lock step with his ideology.
So before anyone goes out and tried to make Fox news look like a victim here remember "You reap what you sow" and they are now getting called out on years of lying to America.

I support Fox news , they are slightly tilted to the right but at least they ask tough questions and the Obama adminstration has no answers. they also can not take any criticism. Obama is way to often on soft television, he is to scared or chicken to talk with O'Reilly or Hannity , he knows he is on the wrong track, but is too bullheaded to admitt it. He and his administration also does not listen or care to the wishes of us, ordinary US citicens.
Something must be right with Fox N. they have more viewers ,then all the other news channels combined AMEN

- Jim West, Spokane Mayor, supported a bill which failed, would have barred gays and lesbians from working in schools, day-care centers and some state agencies. He voted to bar the state from distributing pamphlets telling people how to protect themselves from AIDS. He proposed that “any touching of the sexual or other intimate parts of a person” among teens be criminalized. He ended up having a sexual affair with an 18-year old boy.

This administration can not stand up to ANY criticism or to any questions that do not have answers prepared in advance and displayed on a teleprompter. We are well into the slide toward, not Socialism, but Fascism.
I am very glad to see some of the media that is still shivvering from the "thrill up its leg" that O gives them now actually starting to realize that they have been taken for a ride all along.
They might be starting to understand that as "usefil idiots" they are only safe so long as their usefulness exists. Once the Fascists have sufficient power, they no longer need the useful idiots and they can be eliminated along with the anyone else who might ever wake up and pose a problem for the Rulers.
I remember Hillary shrilly screaming about how it was patriotic to question the White House in the past administration. Why do I not here her screaming now?

It is about time the WH takes their hands off free America, and quit trying to turn this God fearing nation (Christian foundation) toward a Socialist, Godless country. Americans are not going to stand by and let this Nation fall to Obama, the Demoncrats or even Republicans who have lost their backbone. Karl Rove - Fox News contributor. I think that about covers Fox News' intentions.
I find it somewhat amusing that Fox can sling all sorts of lies and misinformation, and then gets upset when the WH calls them out on it. It's also funny that Cal Thomas, of Fox, is outraged. Yet a year ago, when Bush counselor Ed Guillespie issued a letter from the WH, basically stating the same thing Anita did, except aimed at MSNBC, he defends the WH and says they should've done it sooner.
This administration has been worse than I feared. I have seen no positive change, nor do I feel much hope. I have not seen the promised "line by line" examinations of spending. I see more dychotomy than ever, and frankly, the rest of the world is less repsectful of us...... Our President and First lady led the way on that. Disastor. Oh, and yes, lets have the same geniouses that run the IRS, and other great agencies, run my healthcare. GENIOUS!!!!!

Instead, take a middle ground. The gov wants you to think there is nothing wrong or for you to think the swine flu will get us, and fox and it's associates what you to panic like crazy and give the gov a reason to institute martial law.
Don't freak out, don't panic, but do repair. Hold onto your second right amendment and make sure to never stop asking questions!

Fox News does lean a little to the riight, but I think what makes liberals crazy is that they will question Obama. Unlike MSM who will not talk about Tea Parties, crazy quotes from czars and leading Democrats and not followup on stories when Democrats get caught lying.

If it had not been for the opinion programming on Fox News channel, we would not have a clue about the Marxist that have been given so much power and control over our future. Kudos to Fox News Channel. They seem to be the lone voice of freedom in the media. There are no other reputable news organizations remaining, except CNN, who has been basically silent until recently. Maybe now they will be willing to actually report on the subversives in government. All they have to do is report what these people have said in print and on video. It truly appears that there has been a conspiracy in the main stream media to allow the Marxist takeover of our government. Obama is just doing what he said he would do. I can't fault him for that. Our media simply failed to report what he and the people around him said they would do... before and after the election.

Sure-Fox News is a news organization. They have something for everyone on their broadcasts. Take a look at any of the newest hires there. Unlike some networks that cater only to left-leaning thinkers. I sincerely hope that everyone who supports what the Obama administration is trying to do to this country will be the absolute FIRST in line with all their life savings and property Giving freely to Obama to distribute out as he sees fit.
If you've been paying attention to any newscast, we're heading in a very dangerous direction. The way we exist as a nation now may not be what exists for my children much less my grandchildren. As a family, we've lived well below our means for the last 20 years planning and savings for our retirement. I see a day where the government takes it all just to pay China back, cause they're getting ready to call in the "note." This last financial crash will look like a tiny blip on the screen compared to the day that the dollar totally collapses. But we're not supposed to worry, because the government will take care of our needs, right?

To Matt Lee's post to others...though you site studies and statistics that show NPR to be "fair & balanced" and is listened to by more right leaners than others I ask, can you discern the foundation of their study, i.e., who and how they arrived at their conclusions? Were their studies "Fair and Balanced" or, like so many other "media/news" outlets, were their polls, stories and "studies", biased? Ya' know, like asking 63% professed liberals, 12 % indies and only 25% conservative/Republicans. Just curious.
Heck, anyone can make and site a "study"...in talking with my many friends, neighbors and business associates/customers...90% of them know NPR is liberal, don't like what's happening to our country at the moment, and appreciate clarity and honesty...especially in reporting. So, my study indicates contrary findings to yours. Hmmmm
Finally, given this poll's results...are all of these people wrong and only you and the other small % correct?

I am a Veteran of WW II, Korea and the Cold War, and, I did not fight in combat for this "not so black" President....as to his Birth Certificate, a Federal Judge has given his lawyers until the first of January 2010 to produce a VALID Birth Certificate,..anytime one questions his Birth Ceriificate, there is no answer from the Obama Admisnistration, or the Democratic Party... it seems they are stalling whenever the question is asked....Now I ask you,...WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE ? ? ?.

I was raised to believe in our constitution and no matter what or who is in the white house, it will not change my ideals in the least. My forefathers were right and shall always remain that way. I have to make a comment the FOX NEWS is the only station I can watch anymore, my local news tells me nothing anymore. The FOX News and I repeat NEWS is the only truthful and ones to report the news and they do follow up on all the news. In the whirlwind of bias and spin in the news, from whatever outlet, I ask only these two questions from what I hear. Is it true? And is it the whole truth? I don't care if Glen Beck is a raving lunatic. I want to know if what he says is true. For example, is it true that an avowed marxist (or two or three), have the president's ear? If it is not true, why doesn't someone say so and put Glen in his place? If it is, why doesn't every news outlet report it? If it is true, then it becomes newsworthy that we only hear about it on Fox!

When the government will not accept unfavorable questions, this is no longer the country that was founded in 1776. Fox has every right to ask whatever, and our government has a responsibility to answer the questions completely.

Fox is the only real news network, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC are nothing more than support organizations for the liberal right. they follow the liberal line so closely that, for example, if Pelosi, Reid or Obama were walking and stopped suddenly, Oberman or Gibson might have to pick poop out of their noses. I used to listen to NPR all the time and we supported their fund drives faithfully. Not anymore. They are so biased and liberal - can't say the truth anymore.
Fox news is the only news that we listen to. We don't even bother with national news networks - They want sensationalism only and forget about reporting the facts. I have learned so much insight from Fox news - and appreciate the debates they have.
Where would we be without Fox? We'd know only one side of the news....the corrupt D.C. controlling news coming out of the networks. I'm thankful for FOX and their point of view in order to know some of the lies coming out of D.C. We also get news the networks are afraid to report. FOX is just one cable news channel while the liberals have three to five networks. Why are they so afraid of FOX. The first amendment still states "freedom of speech". I wonder how long it will take them to change this to freedom of speech as long as you report what we tell you to report.

The first thing a dictator does to grab more power is to control the media. It is very effective. I know of this through experience when Marcos declared an emergency throughout the country after the soldiers took control of ALL TV , radio, and newspapers for almost 5 days. There was a total blackout of information and the only thing people see are armed soldiers patroling the cities. The next thing Marcos did was arrest all those who criticized him and his policy. After 5 days of media blackout, he came on TV and on the radio declaring Martial Law. That was the end of the Philippine Govt. that was fashioned after the US govt. and US Constitution. I fear we are going that path by way of the democratic control of all houses and the executive branch. The change is gradual and not as drastic as that of the Philippines in the early 1970s but Obama and the Dems are just starting and the people won't even know it is happening until it's too late.

What is a news organization? I would think a group of people that report on current events that occur around the world. That is what Fox news does. Now does Fox news have a biased? I would say for the most part yes! They tend to lean to the conservative view, however I think that is balanced by some other networks leaning toward the liberal view. When most people say that Fox is not fair and balanced they are referring to one or more of the opinion shows that appear on Fox. We should always be reminded that shows of this nature are biased to the opinion of the host, however I have found that the information presented on these shows is normally factual and to the point.
A better poll would be do you think Obama and the left wing liberals are destroying this country? To that I say YES it is almost beyond saving.

I watch Fox news. The one thing that not many have commented on is that Beck, O'Rielly, Hannity and Van Susteren are commentators. They don't pretend to broadcast news. If you watch them it is because you want to hear their opinions on the news. Do not call me a mindless sheep because I want to watch a broadcast that reflects the opinions that I agree with. If you agree that Obama is doing what he promised he would do, watch any of the other networks. Fox is the only network that has the guts to show what Obama is really doing to our country. I've watched in horror as Iran's people have continuously lost personal freedoms, the freedom to vote, the freedom of speech, the freedom of public gatherings and now Im watching in horror as my own personal freedoms are being taken away. When Geo W Bush was president, people protested constantly about his actions and were not silenced. In fact, the media had a great time covering each protest. Under the Obama adminstration, protesting does not appear to be allowed. Tomorrow (11/1/09) at the Newseum is a program called "Listen Up Mr President" and I hope he does.
Things are not boding well for America and our freedoms under the Obama administration. I'm with FOX on this one and would have been for CNN under the previous administration. When I asked an immigrant from Africa what was it about American that she most appreciated, she said "free speech". In her country you could not speak against the administration without fear of prison and unspeakable, inhumane, treatment.

I find that the Fox News telecasts, during which the news of the day is reported, generally are impartial and sometimes revealing, as they should be. I find that the "name" commentators -- Beck, O'Reilly at al -- have a definite conservative, Republican flavor -- as they should have. Otherwise, they would not be worth the airtime that Fox allots to them. For those of us seeking balance in the electronic presentation of news and commentary daily, Fox is providing it. Hope it continues.

I am a democrat and voted for Obama in the primary for my state, but did not vote for him in the general election after I learned of his agenda. FOX news definitely has a lean toward conservative views. Just as MSNBC has a lean toward liberal views. That's the beauty of American freedom in the press! You can lean anyway you like. It's up to the person reading or viewing to determine how creditable that report is to them. That's why it's called "Freedom of the Press". The day we allow an administration to dictate a precedent, that will last forever, to whom it will consider as a creditable news outlet, is the day we give up our freedom of speech in the press. This administration leans liberal...so they exclude FOX news. Now, using this precedent, the next administration, that very well could lean conservative, excludes MSNBC and so on it goes. Not where we as America want to go. Let's all stand up and “nip this one in the bud”. Support the movement to stop exclusion of any press organization by this or any future administration, period.

Where is FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! We need more outspoken media who aren't afraid to say what they think and project their ideas. All I will say is that some of the Fox people have distorted some facts to make them more in tune with their own opinions. Glenn Beck can provide plenty of sources in his latest book, and make them seem to justify his own opinion, but he uses old news - in some cases over ten years old - and suggests that things have not changed since then.
Distortion and misuse of facts is as bad as out and out lying. That does his case harm, but it also shows that he treats his readers as though they are dumb and ignorant.
That's a good enough reason for me to not listen to him any more. He's only in it for the money, and making money through false pretences. He's as bad as the ones he criticizes.
It's surely worth noting that, during the previous eight years when G. W. Bush was the President, Fox News and the associated similar pundits (Rush Limbaugh etc) were all in favor of the governments actions.
Now we have someone who is from another political party (and with different abilities, it must be said) who is not as ostensibly belligerent as Bush was, but far more interested in communication and reconciliation, and Fox News etc. are almost maniacally against him and everything he attempts and stands for.
I side with the White House on this, simply because there ARE checks and balances - whether or not they are used - for government. But an unelected organization, with a powerful access to the public ear and ability to mold public opinion, is riding rough-shod over an elected body.
If there is such a strong case against Obama, he should be impeached. If he is not, the strident voices need to accept their own unwillingness to take that step, and explain why.

I am still waiting to see Obama's birth certificate, school records, medical records, passport information, articles written for the Harvard Review, senior thesis. Obama reminds me of a story I read. I think it was called "The Emporer's New Clothes". This man is fooled and so are you NPR. You lick it good. My take: I watch Fox and CNN and MSNBC (and listen to NPR). Fox obviously leans to the right but makes a valiant attempt to be balanced in overall programming. CNN leans slightly left. Both attempt to be fair and each is somewhat balanced. MSNBC leans heavily left and is extremely biased. NPR seems to be very non-partisan and presents itself that way; but if you pay attention to the questions that are asked, etc., you can see that they are very partisan and lean heavily left although the approach is subtle and perhaps unintentional.
These blogs on left-leaning media websites, like this one, serve an important purpose. They let Liberals demonstrate how nasty and hateful they actually are. Then the few people who are able to think critically and who pay any attention at all to these biased leftist public relations organs that try to mask themselves as news organizations can see what Leftists are really all about.
Some of us learned that decades ago, of course.
Fox News is not really rightist or conservative. They are a true customer-oriented media company that recognized that all the major news media have long ago sold out to the statist agenda of the Left and that many people in this coutnry still would like to hear news based on fact, not fabrication and agenda pushing. They are simply filling a gap that is making them the most popular cable netwrok and possibly soon the most popular network of any kind.
Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are conservative. Fox is simply a news network that also offers opinion--both left- and right-leaning opinion.

Fox News is time and time again #1 in ratings, because smart people are figuring out that the papers and tv media do not report news anymore they do what they are told, and write opinion pieces or just make it up out of thin air. That is why nobody buys papers anymore and nobody watches network news anymore. "Just think Tom Brokaw" I just hope the country wakes up in time before its too late.
I used to watch the major news channels about 70% of the time and fox news the other 30% until this last election. I do not like news agencies getting involved in politics. I appreciate fox for providing discussions on both sides of an issue and then allowing me to decide who is more correct. When I compare what is broadcast on ABC,NBC,CBS and CNN with FOX I can see many examples of major news stories being mentioned on FOX but not on any of the other stations. I think if we allow the current democratic government to have their way we could end up like China or North Korea where you only are told what the government wants you to hear. This country was founded on freedoms like speech, being able to work hard and make money and keep it and also to have all of the information on issues to make a decision.

The President and Mr. Gibbs NEVER said that Fox would be barred from the press corps nor have they said "you can't ask us tough questions".
What they did do is to tell it like it is, Fox "News" does act more like a right wing talk radio show/station than a news organization.
Now the Fox News watchers will say : "Well, what about Olbermann? and Schultz and Maddow? Aren't they putting forth a liberal agenda/opinion?"
The answer is yes but they are opinion/politics shows, during the day when MSNBC is doing news it's actually news and actually balanced and they do not treat the aforementioned shows as "news".
I would also like to point out that whenever Keith, Rachel or Ed gets something wrong they correct it immediately, they tell you what was said, that it was erroneous then furnish you with the correct information and even APOLOGIZE for the error.
When have you EVER heard Fox news do that? The answer is NEVER because they believe the lies that they spew every day.
There's an old saying that goes: "Tell a lie long enough and you'll start believing it" that's Fox's mantra, lie and believe the lie so that it can be perpetuated with that much more certainty so that when someone who is less informed hears it they take it as gospel.
Plain and simple I'm glad the president stood up to them, it needed to be done.
This president and administration doesn't shy away from tough questions and have been very much inclusive of all points of view hence Obamas dinner at George Will's house with conservative columnists.

I support Fox news , they are slightly tilted to the right but at least they ask tough questions and the Obama adminstration has no answers. they also can not take any criticism. Obama is way to often on soft television, he is to scared or chicken to talk with O'Reilly or Hannity , he knows he is on the wrong track, but is too bullheaded to admitt it. He and his administration also does not listen or care to the wishes of us, ordinary US citicens.

I sincerely hope that everyone who supports what the Obama administration is trying to do to this country will be the absolute FIRST in line with all their life savings and property Giving freely to Obama to distribute out as he sees fit.
If you've been paying attention to any newscast, we're heading in a very dangerous direction. The way we exist as a nation now may not be what exists for my children much less my grandchildren. As a family, we've lived well below our means for the last 20 years planning and savings for our retirement. I see a day where the government takes it all just to pay China back, cause they're getting ready to call in the "note." This last financial crash will look like a tiny blip on the screen compared to the day that the dollar totally collapses. But we're not supposed to worry, because the government will take care of our needs, right?
if more of the population would watch fox we would'nt be in the mess we are in now. fox definetly changed my view for the better!!
To Matt Lee's post to others...though you site studies and statistics that show NPR to be "fair & balanced" and is listened to by more right leaners than others I ask, can you discern the foundation of their study, i.e., who and how they arrived at their conclusions? Were their studies "Fair and Balanced" or, like so many other "media/news" outlets, were their polls, stories and "studies", biased? Ya' know, like asking 63% professed liberals, 12 % indies and only 25% conservative/Republicans. Just curious.
Heck, anyone can make and site a "study"...in talking with my many friends, neighbors and business associates/customers...90% of them know NPR is liberal, don't like what's happening to our country at the moment, and appreciate clarity and honesty...especially in reporting. So, my study indicates contrary findings to yours. Hmmmm
Finally, given this poll's results...are all of these people wrong and only you and the other small % correct?

I am a Veteran of WW II, Korea and the Cold War, and, I did not fight in combat for this "not so black" President....as to his Birth Certificate, a Federal Judge has given his lawyers until the first of January 2010 to produce a VALID Birth Certificate,..anytime one questions his Birth Ceriificate, there is no answer from the Obama Admisnistration, or the Democratic Party... it seems they are stalling whenever the question is asked....Now I ask you,...WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE ? ? ?.
I was raised to believe in our constitution and no matter what or who is in the white house, it will not change my ideals in the least. My forefathers were right and shall always remain that way. I have to make a comment the FOX NEWS is the only station I can watch anymore, my local news tells me nothing anymore. The FOX News and I repeat NEWS is the only truthful and ones to report the news and they do follow up on all the news. So here is an old lady saying thank you Fox for having the balls to tell us the truth and stick to the constitution on these UNITED STATES.

In the whirlwind of bias and spin in the news, from whatever outlet, I ask only these two questions from what I hear. Is it true? And is it the whole truth? I don't care if Glen Beck is a raving lunatic. I want to know if what he says is true. For example, is it true that an avowed marxist (or two or three), have the president's ear? If it is not true, why doesn't someone say so and put Glen in his place? If it is, why doesn't every news outlet report it? If it is true, then it becomes newsworthy that we only hear about it on Fox!
When the government will not accept unfavorable questions, this is no longer the country that was founded in 1776. Fox has every right to ask whatever, and our government has a responsibility to answer the questions completely.
Fox is the only real news network, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC are nothing more than support organizations for the liberal right. they follow the liberal line so closely that, for example, if Pelosi, Reid or Obama were walking and stopped suddenly, Oberman or Gibson might have to pick poop out of their noses. They are nothing more than liberal suck-ups. They are anything but balanced or objective. Don't they have any self-respect?
It's too bad that NPR and the rest of the liberal press do not have any reporters left, they all seem to have retired since Pres Bush left office and the in depth reporting has stopped. They just write or repeat what the white house needs them to say. Stenographer's,not journalist's.

If NPR was not financed by the government, it would be unable to function due to it's very liberal bias. They would not have enough listeners to continue operations.
If Fox is wrong then the WH should correct them. Since they don't they we must believe that Fox is correct in the things they are saying. The WH has been diven the opportunity to come on Fox and make the corrections but
seem to be afraid. Must be something that they are hiding.

By this White House logic, NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN should have been banned from press conferences during the Bush administration.

Think about it, why has this illegal so-called president taken such a stance AGAINST Fox News? Liars don't like to be exposed! FOX is the ONLY fair, balanced AND transparent NEWS REPORTING group of real journalists out there. The others are afraid of their own shadow and are cowards when it comes to reporting the TRUTH and the truth shall set one free. I won't watch the fake news channels as they are SO one-sided, so the sponsors are wasting their advertising dollars! FOX is not a Benedict Arnold agency!

I used to listen to NPR all the time and we supported their fund drives faithfully. Not anymore. They are so biased and liberal - can't say the truth anymore.
Fox news is the only news that we listen to. We don't even bother with national news networks - They want sensationalism only and forget about reporting the facts. I have learned so much insight from Fox news - and appreciate the debates they have.
Where would we be without Fox? We'd know only one side of the news....the corrupt D.C. controlling news coming out of the networks. I'm thankful for FOX and their point of view in order to know some of the lies coming out of D.C. We also get news the networks are afraid to report. FOX is just one cable news channel while the liberals have three to five networks. Why are they so afraid of FOX. The first amendment still states "freedom of speech". I wonder how long it will take them to change this to freedom of speech as long as you report what we tell you to report.
The first thing a dictator does to grab more power is to control the media. It is very effective. I know of this through experience when Marcos declared an emergency throughout the country after the soldiers took control of ALL TV , radio, and newspapers for almost 5 days. There was a total blackout of information and the only thing people see are armed soldiers patroling the cities. The next thing Marcos did was arrest all those who criticized him and his policy. After 5 days of media blackout, he came on TV and on the radio declaring Martial Law. That was the end of the Philippine Govt. that was fashioned after the US govt. and US Constitution. I fear we are going that path by way of the democratic control of all houses and the executive branch. The change is gradual and not as drastic as that of the Philippines in the early 1970s but Obama and the Dems are just starting and the people won't even know it is happening until it's too late.
i have figured out how to solve the globle warming,unimployment ,healthcare.and fox news problums,,impeache this markcs president and voat out these liberal democrats that we have in washinton ,,,the sooner the better.....
