Claire Nield, Batchelor Institute- along with the other great characteristics you would expect in a nominee for such a prestigious award, Claire managed to escape the library for a few hours to help trainees on the indigenous mines program have 'real life' interview experience. The guys were very nervous before their mock interview but Claire used her charm to put them at ease and they didn't want to leave!
She provided constructive written feedback for each of the candidates.
Claire shared her own inspirational life story with the candidates in the lecture room and provided our mines trainees with practical advice on overcoming challenges they faced getting ready for the world of work and in establishing a healthy work/life balance.
I know I can speak for all the 28 trainees on the mines program in saying how much Claire has gone beyond the call of duty in such a pleasant and engaging manner.
Thanks from us all Claire!

Dominique is a great Young People's Services Librarian. A lot of children regularly attend and thoroughly enjoy Storytime (average of approx 30 -50 children per session). She has very interesting events and activities during the school holidays, during Children's Books Week and throughout the year. The children, staff and patrons (not only at A.H. Bracks Library, but at all five City of Melville Libraries) think the world of Dominique. I hope that she wins the title. She deserves it!
